    So I played it and love it, definitely not for everone. now that the game has been out for a few weeks I can experience what kojima intended it to be. I love all the themes.     The game is HONEST. It has unique gameplay mechanics, great graphics & sound and an Original story that will keep you seated for a lot of time. The below 7 score is just too "trolly" for my taste and also ruins the creative attempt of the creator. PLEASE don't follow the negative hype that has been created. Many games if not the most part of gaming includes a specific pattern that regardsThe game is HONEST. It has unique gameplay mechanics, great graphics & sound and an Original story that will keep you seated for a lot of time. The below 7 score is just too "trolly" for my taste and also ruins the creative attempt of the creator. PLEASE don't follow the negative hype that has been created. Many games if not the most part of gaming includes a specific pattern that regards gameplay. For example in games like Diablo you loot, then loot again, and again and again. You see, this for many other people can be as "boring" as just "walking around". So, I'm not going to use any of these stereotypes to make Death Stranding look good or bad.
    Let's start with simple things. First of all, good GAMEPLAY is something that truly works with the general idea of a game and that the latter benefits from all this. Guess what? Death Stranding works greatly with this type of gameplay mechanic. In this game, you have to think while walking. You'll have to think about the steps you're taking. Although this will not seem interesting enough and too minimal for some people, believe me, it creates a New World. You have to think about the road you're going to take, micro-manage every piece of cargo in a smart way and adding to these you have to think of the terrain and weather conditions... You see... you're a tiny Man in the middle of nowhere. The vast lands, edgy mountain rocks (that get very slippy when it's raining) are your enemies. There are more "natural" enemies too of course and especially the BT's will transform the game in a much scarier experience. The only thing that I would consider a problem are the controls that some times lack precision. But it's happening in a very minor proportion, so it's really not a huge issue. IF YOU LIKE to play a good written-unique-delicate game it's going to be a 10/10. Believe me, there's nothing else like this out in the market right now. I'm going with a 9.5 and that's because as I said there are some minor problems with the controls from time to time. MY FRIENDLY OPINION is that you should actually play this, give it time to grow in you. Don't get drawn by impulsive opinions.

    Im finally thru the game. It was a fantastic and most important, unique journey. You should ignore the review bombs from some pretty weird people (like everytime). If you wanna know the real user rating, look into the PlayStation Store Rating From real users and not just haters with a lot time. If you want something new and fresh and you can’t stand Fortnite and Ubisoft Openworlds, youIm finally thru the game. It was a fantastic and most important, unique journey.     It's fantastic! The best game of this generation, it's fresh, it's bold, its breathtaking visuals are simply out of this world, the story is really interesting and intelligent in all of its weirdness. For those sensitive and intellectual enough it is also a great existential statement about the current state of our world and scoeity. A must-play game!

    Maybe it’s me but I deadset don’t understand why so many people are not fans of the game.

    It’s cinematically beautiful, has an incredibly immersive storyline and is quintessentially Kojima!

    This game is definitely not for everyone. It's slow, methodical but my god is it an experience. If you are interested and you have an idea of what the game is about, get it. One of the most interesting games I've played this year.

    I’ll start by saying this.... If you love movies and games, Death Stranding is for you. It seems that the battle royale and FPS have really dragged down the expectations of what makes a good game. Seems too much impatience to be able to delve into an immersive game. To take breaks and enjoy the art. Enjoying a masterpiece story. The underlying message. Death Stranding does just that. ItI’ll start by saying this....     I'm not a Kojima super duper fan, Mgs isn't my favourite game at all. Despite everything, Death Stranding struck me from the first trailer, and once I started playing it, it didn't disappoint me. Very high graphic level, cinematographic level images and history that pushes to continue the game from the first seconds thanks to the excellent script. А половина наверняка купила игру потому,что Кодзима гений,а не потому что она им действительно понравиласьОтличная игра,которая полностью оправдывает мои ожидания.     O jogo apesar de se desenvolver de uma forma lenta apresenta uma história muito interessante e cativante. Os gráficos também são absurdos e as opções de gameplay que o jogo oferece são muitas e variadas. Apesar de pelos trailer não entendermos nada, logo no começo o jogo já explica um pouco sobre o seu mundo de uma forma que nos intriga ainda mais a continuar jogando e ao mesmo tempo vaiO jogo apesar de se desenvolver de uma forma lenta apresenta uma história muito interessante e cativante. Os gráficos também são absurdos e as opções de gameplay que o jogo oferece são muitas e variadas. Apesar de pelos trailer não entendermos nada, logo no começo o jogo já explica um pouco sobre o seu mundo de uma forma que nos intriga ainda mais a continuar jogando e ao mesmo tempo vai apresenta mais e mais mistérios sobre a trama e o protagonista, com certeza vale a pena pegar… Expand

Je suis content que certain jeux et séries sont adressé au personne qui on un cerveau (westworld par exemple vue les critiques) car la dire qu'il et mauvais reviens a dire que tu et un débile qui préfère pan pan boum.     Beautiful scenery amazing story and engaging gameplay. Whoever is not liking this game is because they were dumb enough to buy a game without knowing what the game was. It's like buying tetris and complaining that it isn't call of duty. Next time do some research on what you're buying before you do and don't criticize a game just because it's not the game you wanted to buy.

From a technical standpoint it runs super smooth with top notch graphics and animations and overall the level of polish you can expect from kojima.     This game is beautifully made and well done. For me, its exciting and a fresh new way to play. The pacing isgood for those who are PATIENT. And I am in love with the story. It is unusually reminiscient of Silent Hills with its twisty and almost horror like story! I hope people learn to recconect and not just review bomb a genuinely good game and a work of art. Kojima has done great.

    The truth is this game is exceed my expectation eventhough its kinda slow in the beginning with delivery process and stuff, however slowly and steady the game become more interesting and exciting honestly this wont happen if player give up after early hours of play.     Definitely not for everyone as most of the current games are Fps and are fast paced....this is a slow game that requires a lot of patience and calmness and most of the people lack those 2 traits

Played 4 hours so far which should be a bit less than 10% of the full thing but I'm absolutely loving it so far. Writing is pretty decent although very cliche for most of the parts, but it's saved by great and intriguing plot. Music is an absolute ten, there's no denying that.Marvelous game and experience. The game is slow, but it's interesting fun. Slow paced =/= boring. That's like saying a drama movie can't be good just because it doesn't have action scenes, don't be ridiculous. Also it does have action moments, I haven't reached many but so far I've experienced fast and tense situations which contrast great with the slow paced walking you spent most of the time doing.

    All in all, so far a great experience, but I can get how it can be divisive amongst a large audience.

    What I can't get is why people are hating on Kojima and just rating negative for the sake of it. Don't be so childish.    … Expand

    The game is really meditative and you can get really creative in the way you play it. This is something different from the rest and it stands out. The gameplay elements and the story go very deep!

    Honestly, the repetitive answers and hatred I see about this game make me embarrassed by such childishness and disrespect. Kojima never hid the true purpose of the game, made it clear in the several hours of the game before release. Games are not just war, fighting and shooting.

    This game is a piece of art. The industry has become numb to cookie-cutter copy and paste games such as COD and Madden. "I don't understand the game so it has to be bad is the mindset." Think independently and give the game a shot. It is beautiful.

    Loving this game so much! Very fresh and original. Been waiting a long time for something new to come along. I understand it’s not for the typical gamer who wants to gun things down. But it’s certainly for gamers who want to experience something unique that the industry is afraid to make.

I didn't have very high expectations for the game so maybe that's why I'm enjoying it so much. The horror/creep factor is indeed there and it's a interesting setting.     This isn't MGS and you need to go in realising that. This is something new and something groundbreaking. You feel isolated, alone, scared but also there's a sense of togetherness, hope and happiness.

    Currently at Episode 2. Having a blast!! Enjoying the game so far, The "Online Function" is really good felt connected to other players!! also the cutscenes are super good!!!!!

    This game is not for everyone but it's definitely for me, people give it a zero because it's "too slow pasted for my liking" this game was never advertised as a fast pasted game, people come just for Kojima but that's on them, they should look into the game before buying it, not blindingly buying it just because it's Kojima.

    This is a game take its time to deliver, but when it does, it is an amazing experience. The plot is great, the acting is superb, the graphics are nextgen, and the details are overwhelming. I hope everyone can appreciate this game.

    Masterpiece. Not many developers would take a risk of creating something new and fresh like this. Game is unlike any other you have played (for better or worse, it depends on you). Best comparison would strangely be close to Journey (2012), where you traverse a large space to explore and learn about this unique world of Death Stranding.     A game with an addictive gameplay loop, beautiful environments, interesting cutscenes, stellar cast and that classic Kojima weirdness make for one of the most engaging gaming experiences I've had in a while.
    Love it or hate it, it's a game you have to try at least once in your life.

    Greatest game of this year. Absolute gem. Graphics and the atmosphere is something unreal. Gameplay itself isnt clearly for everybody, but for me it's perfect. Story so far (about 6hours in) has been great too!

    I played for a few hours last night and fell asleep dreaming about the game. I'm currently thinking of an excuse to leave work early to continue my death stranding journey because this game is flat out perfection. Forget all the non-sense zero scores. You can obviously tell by now if this games for you or if you should pass. So my only conclusion is at least 90% of these negative scores are from trolls and haters that just want to review bomb this game and for people who give it a bad score when ya actually gave the game a legit chance.     Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
