    I purchased Cyberpunk for PS4 Pro and PC. While both were buggy at release, since the 1.04 patch I am much happier with it on PC. Its been playable and even with occasional issues I am enjoying the game. However, on PlayStation that is another matter. The patch hasn't made a big difference for me on console and I decided to ask for a refund. I think that Cyberpunks statementI purchased Cyberpunk for PS4 Pro and PC. While both were buggy at release, since the 1.04 patch I am much happier with it on PC. Its been playable and even with occasional issues I am enjoying the game. However, on PlayStation that is another matter. The patch hasn't made a big difference for me on console and I decided to ask for a refund. I think that Cyberpunks statement concerning refunds was as deceitful as their hiding the state of the game on consoles. I attempted to obtain a refund from Sony and of course they denied it as I had already downloaded it. I have attempted to contact CDProjektRed and have yet to hear back from them. I know they must be getting many emails but I have read recently information from their latest Investor call and now I believe they are not likely to follow through with their offer. I will amend my review if this changes, but for now I do not plan on supporting them in the future. They have burned that bridge.....… Expand

    When I first played Witcher 3, after a year of it's release, I was astonished. The game was absolutely amazing. Hands down in my top 5. I also was familiar with the Cyberpunk universe and a huge fan, having GMed Cyberpunk 2020 in the '90s. Needles to say, my expectations were high. Then I finally got CP2077... What a let down... Don't get me wrong, everything is there - story and lorewise,When I first played Witcher 3, after a year of it's release, I was astonished. The game was absolutely amazing. Hands down in my top 5. I also was familiar with the Cyberpunk universe and a huge fan, having GMed Cyberpunk 2020 in the '90s. Needles to say, my expectations were high. Then I finally got CP2077... What a let down... Don't get me wrong, everything is there - story and lorewise, but the blurry graphics, sub bar game mechanics, messy menus and the multitude of bugs...     First and last game I’ll ever pre-order. Yes I know, shame on me. The only reason I pre-order CP2077 is because of CD Projekt Red's great track record for being a friendly consumer company. All of that is out of the window with this game. They deliberately chose to limit review copies of the game to the PC platform — fully aware that the console version would run horrible.     - The game is extremely buggy.
    - The UI is horrible and unintuitive.
    - Customization is just bland. Nothing like the marketing.
    - What happen to vehicle and apartment customizations?
    - Many features were promised but never made it to the final release.
    - AI? What AI?
    - The game just didn’t look appealing to me. I like the aesthetic but the graphics look like PS2/PS3 graphics. It’s nothing close to what was showed awhile back.

    While some were able to get a refund, most are not having any luck. Sony will tell you to wait the the patch next year. People paid $60 for a finished game, not an unfinished broken mess.    … Expand

    This is a pretty fun game, if you can play it at all. I've had crashes, frame drops, non-rendering NPCs. This is my first review on metacritic, so please bear with me. These critiques are in no particular order.

    Positives: This game has okay graphics on my PS4 Slim, with patch 1.04 installed. This is my first review on metacritic, so please bear with me. These critiques are in no particular order.

    Positives:

    The storyline is pretty interesting, I got emotionally connected with some characters and completely hated others, or gave some sort of respect to them because of who they are in the game. I felt pretty immersed.

    Gameplay is alright, not groundbreaking or revolutionary, but it's still alright.

    The city is beautiful. I love the graffiti, the slums, the expensive buildings for the rich people. It is honestly beautiful.

    Negatives:

    It seems like cybernetic augmentations don't do much to change gameplay. I wish that they had a more prominent impact on gameplay and decisions in-game.

    The perks aren't too interesting either- they seem mediocre at best.

    The control scheme isn't too shabby when you're not in the menus. Pressing circle to skip dialogue and also having to press circle to crouch/dodge was not a good idea. For example, I was on a phone call and some bad guys shown up. I like to bob and weave and crouch and strike so I had a 10 second phone call that was supposed to last minutes at least.

    In the inventory screen or shop screens, things can get pretty laggy. You can't mass-sell items from your inventory, you must select them one at a time. When you sell an item, it seems like the inventories (both yours and the shop-keeps) literally refresh/rerender. It's honestly not a good inventory or trading system IMO.

    As for NPCs, there are very little of them spread across the city. They aren't next gen, either. Night City is supposed to be this huge, densely populated city and it does not seem that way at all. I can drive on the highway, through the streets and see maybe 8 or 9 cars on a 3 kilometer drive.

    The police NPCs seem to be the worst. You stand next to them for 3 seconds and they'll shoot you for looking at them wrong. They don't patrol the city, they don't have an acceptable wanted system. They're like the Institute (from FO4), waiting for you to commit a heinous act before TELEPORTING right behind you. You run just a little distance away and all of a sudden, it's too far for them to search/look for you and bam, you're off the hook.

    The looting mechanic seems off to me. IMO, I think it's too much. The looting mechanic and inventory systems don't work together well. Disassembling, selling or equipping items can lead to a crash, or a laggy screen.

    Also you can't seem to customize your character anymore after the initial character creation. No barbers, tattoo shops, plastic surgeons. it might be a small gripe, but I just wish that these were in the game.

    There are plenty of bugs/glitches that happen during gameplay. Sometimes during story missions, sometimes not. I've had random crashing throughout my gameplay. It must've crashed 5 or 6 times while just doing the main missions.

    The next particular couple of sentences don't have to do anything with the game itself and does not affect the review score: I wish that I could've seen and read honest reviews for the "previous gen" consoles before securing my game. I'm not happy with the current state that this game has the gaming community in, and I feel like on some level, CDPR has betrayed what trust we, the community, has given them.

    I'm not sure if there is anything else to say. I can actually see the progress being made by the dev team, so I have hope for this game. I hope they pull a No Man's Sky, this game definitely needs a turn around. I'd love to play again in the next year or two, but for now, I think i'll take a break.    … Expand

    I enjoyed the game the story is good gameplay was good but it’s got so much bugs I’m on series x visual gilt he’s a lot and now I’m actually un able to finish the game I got a never ending load screen on a main mission so I can’t even finish it and I’m 25 hours in games a broken record!!!!

    Runs great on the PS5. I have over 60 hours and enjoyed most of them all. It does crash about once an hour but overall I've enjoyed it.

    The game is just awful. Highly deceptive marketing at best; bald faced lies at worst. The game is no where near the game it made out to be prior to release. Numerous missing features and poor performance on consoles to bugs and glitches that render the game unplayable at times. Do not buy this game and be very wary of CDPR in future.

    Horrible, hasta la NPC del Gta San Andres se encuentra más pulida, además, para PS4 fue una verdadera estafa, pero no sólo eso, el juego está roto, aunque lo juegues en un pc de uranio tiene fallos y una IA digna de juego de ps1.

Constant crashes, MPC out of place, jumping and no textures on them, quests are buggy and you can't complete them, frame rates are horrible and I just don't feel like playing it. At the time of writing 16/12/20, it is still unplayable and I think I might have to wait until February 2021 until it is playable.This game is unplayable! I played about an hour and when i went to the city streets i watched bags, graphical glitches with 15-25 fps, low resolution and all this staff you may watch on youtube.     На PS4 играть не возможно сплошное мыло, а на PS5 графика лучше, но бесконечные вылету просто утомили. Каждые 30-40 мин.

    Utter garbage. Filled with glitches that are game breaking and missing features. Ignore all the positive journalist reviews. This game is unfinished and shouldn’t have been released. I won’t be buying anymore games from CDPR after this they have scammed their customers by withholding info on PS4 and Xbox versions

    And claiming that the game runs surprisingly well on ps4 is very shameful, maybe they haven't played GTA v which has a larger world and runs smoothly with basically no loading screens every second.

    Very disappointed with the game I've been waiting for a long time and was very hyped for it. Very disappointed and the devs I actually stopped playing it I couldn't push myself to play it anymore and it literally depressed me. Possibly not ever buying another game from this company.     The customization options are TERRIBLE. There are no sliders, just preset choices. And all the choices are UGLY. Does nobody own a hairbrush in the year 2077?     The customization options are TERRIBLE. There are no sliders, just preset choices. And all the choices are UGLY. Does nobody own a hairbrush in the year 2077? Did everyone in society get together and just decide that hipster bangs are the only hairstyle allowed? It's pretty much, you can have unbrushed ugly hair, or you can have a cute bob BUT they ruin it with the stupid, tiny bangs. The kind of bangs you get after a particularly bad breakup. The kind of bangs you immediately regret. That's what they give us as hair options. Not enthused.
    Also, all the facial options are so similar it hardly makes a difference what you pick. Why did they not give us sliders? Even Skyrim has sliders. Come on.
    And anyone who is like "who cares, its a first person game": unfortunately, the nails are also ugly af. And you can see them at all times. So. Yep.
    Half the reason I bought this stupid game was to use the character creator..... huge let-down.
    Also the clothes? Horrendous, and not in a fun way. Granted, I haven't had the opportunity to see if I can buy cuter ones yet, but.... I do not have high hopes.
    The gameplay is terrible, bugs out the wazoo, like everyone else here says. Wish I'd listened to reviews before buying this.
    I may keep playing. We'll see.
    Gonna buy the PC version once people make mods for hair/nails/makeup etc.
    Honestly I was expecting "Skyrim but in the future and it's punk", and... this is not that.
    Also for anyone who likes to watch cutscenes: it makes you constantly press the square button or you miss dialogue. So this is not even a relaxing game during the cut scenes. And it times you. So if you're like me and have dyslexia.... lol. It's rough.
    The gameplay is hard, I'm playing on easy mode and it's still hard, I don't think the difficulty level makes a difference though that much. Normal is hard, easy is hard, I imagine hard is.... also hard.
    The fighting is hard. Haven't really figured it out, mainly I just press buttons til I win. There's a tutorial mode but once you're in it, it makes you do the whole tutorial and you can't exit. Nobody has time for all that.
    Framerate drops all the time, sometimes my character's arm goes pixelated and half disappears. At first I thought it was a cool special effect. It was not.
    Any time you have to be in a vehicle, it takes FOREVER. Idk if this is a glitch or just the game. The drive with Padre, for example. Half the time he's not talking and you just slowly watch the car window scenery move by.
    It's like. Give us a good character creator with bad gameplay, and that's okay with me. Because I have fun if I like how my character looks. But to give us a HORRIBLE character creator AND bad gameplay? Come on.
    This really isn't worth the money. I would put it under un-modded Sims 4 as most frustrating game I own... and that's saying a lot, because I hate Sims 4. Also I only paid $3 for Sims 4. I paid $60 something for this. Very annoyed.

    Jogo quebrado, sabiam que estava um lixo para PS4 e Xbox One e mesmo assim lançaram. Uma falta de respeito com aqueles que acreditavam que a CD PROJECT era diferente de outras produtoras.

    Lamentável, para ter minha confiança de volta vai ter que trabalhar MUITOOOO.

    I made an account so I could tell people just how much I don't recommend this game on the ps4. I constantly get crashes, glitches and fps drops. The game has a nice story and great side quests. But when it comes to gameplay there are a few problems. I mean the gun combat is ok but the melee combat needs some work. Overall I don't recommend the game for the current price on consoles.

    Last night I tried to play and just had to quit playing altogether. In the span of less than an hour I crashed once, ran into two game ending bugs and several other minor bugs.

    The first major bug was an enemy breakdancing and moving at extraordinary speed around the screen while shooting me with a machine gun. He killed me pretty much right away, but even after reloading he still had the same behavior. The only workaround was to stealth in and take him out first before dealing with the other enemies.

    The second major bug is related to the police. I was walking down the street, minding my own business. I go to turn into an alley and then start getting shot at. The police were a good 40-50 yards from me, but were shooting at me. For no reason! I was literally just walking down an alley and got killed for no reason. The AI in this game is so obviously broken.

    The crash last night occurred while accessing the fast travel terminal, which seems to be a common crash point for me within the game. I have crashed at least 3 times at the fast travel terminal.

    I had really high hopes for this game. I can look beyond some missing features and minor bugs to an extent. But the constant crashing, horrendous AI, and major bugs that often result in death are laughable. If I didn't have the collector's edition, I would be definitely be getting a refund because the game is not playable on any version of Sony consoles. CDPR should be ashamed. Oh well, I got a nice statue and art book at least.    … Expand

    I tried to enjoy playing it through all the bugs, and glitches and I tried to look past other things and just have fun. The problem is their are multiple quest like Tapeworm which are glitched to the point where you can complete the game. They say they have fixed problems with patches but most of the problems are still in the game now making it unplayable.

    "Let down of the year!" and that's coming from the year 2020 so it's saying a lot. This game is nothing it was promised to be 8yrs ago. Buggy, glitchy, crashing, hot mess of a game. It trys to be a bunch of things at once and misses the mark on all of them. The only thing I'll give this game credit for is the cityscape and the way it looks and feels. I want my money back yesterday!

    The city is a ghost town in most areas. The wanted system is a joke. The Police spawn right next to you ala Grand Theft Auto Vice City. In GTA V at least they used some intelligence to try and find you. You could shake them off and not have 50 of them appear next to you in a split second.

    The blurriness is absurd, the excessive tearing, the god awful FPS... this game is an absolute nightmare from top to bottom.

    This is the first time in my life that I've ever gotten money back for a digital purchase of a game. The game is so awful in terms of bugs, fun factor... it's a lifeless, soulless husk of a game. Big ambitions with little substance and zero delivery.

    Worst game of 2020 as far as I'm concerned. I even tried it on PC... still an awful mess. Horrible game even with no bugs and crashes. Save your money for GTA VI that'll come out in half a decade from now.    … Expand

    I'd give it one point because the bugs have been entertaining me all week, but then I remember the poor devs were crunched to **** and back for months for a game that is so unplayable that it's been pulled from the PS4 store.

    Heart goes out to the devs, and all the people that bought this on console just wanting to play a game they were looking forward to. I'd say I'd hope everyone's learned a valuable lesson about treating a game as a masterpiece before it comes out but fat chance of that happening.

    Unbelievably boring, clunky, and honestly the screen hurts my eyeballs, gave me a light headache. I seriously do not care what is going on in the story and I don't look forward to the combat either. The UI is awful awful awful and some text is almost too small to read despite having a 55" TV.

    There is undoubtedly potential for a really good game. However in its current state, we have a glitchy, broken mess. It feels like an alpha build that needs another 12-18 months development. Very basic AI, crashes every few hours and extremely repetitive side missions.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I really wanted to love this game. It is not a case where a game just as a few good moments that stand out. No, at the the core of this game, it is something special. There is a fantastic game here, just one issue. But, I will get to that later. I will talk about positives. Like I said, the story was way more compelling than I thought it would be. The promo made it seem like it was going to be pure edgelord futuristic stuff, but there are some very emotional moments. Cute little moments that will make you smile, to very dark and introspective moments that will get you thinking more. There are great themes about power, corruption, corporation, what it means to be human, hope. Another big surprise was how fantastic these side quests were. I am not exaggerating when I say that this game had some of the most quality side quests in any game I have played in recent memory. The writing and characterization was also really good too. I don't know how they did it, but a good portion of the characters were so likeable. The only character I was letdown with was Johnny Silverhand, and it is mostly with his performance by Keanu Reeves. Keanu seems like such a nice guy, but his performance here was kind of flat. It is sad because the character himself has a lot of depth. At first he just comes off as a jerk that just makes fun of you, but after a while he becomes someon that you grow a significant attachment to. I just wish they would have directed him more to have a more compelling performance. The gunplay was also surprisingly fun, along with the melees and what you can do with your cybernetics. My only gripe with the gameplay was that the driving kind of sucked. Most of the time I would have rather just walked to my objectives, or walk to a fast travel point to go nearby the objective. On the basis of the things I love about this game, I would have given this game a 9, maybe a 10 on a good sunny day. With that being said, I gave this game a 3 for a reason.
    This is where I talk about the big buggy elephant in the room: the technical performances. The technical performances are honestly god awful. While my experiences were not as bad as people's during launch, it was still a pain to go through. I'm talking random deaths when I platform, healthbars of bosses I already killed not leaving my screen, people I call that won't hangup, and don't get me started with the crashes. For context, I played this game on a PS5. I put in a good 70 hours in my playthrough where I did all the side gigs, the NCPD crime activity missions, and the main story itself. During that playthrough, I must have had at least 20 crashes. Some of these crashes would happen at a point in the game where it was a moving moment. For example, at the game credits, the characters you meet will all send you cute voicemails sending their regards. I was enjoying this little moment until my game just crashed for no reason. I am forgiving when it comes to minor technical issues, but this game was really testing my patience. It was almost like it did not want me to have fun at some points.
    Another thing I am disappointed with was how CDPR managed to tell so many lies about this game. I was so excited about things that were teased such as more interaction with the city, property buying, etc. Most of these things did not show up at the end. While Night City is a pretty beautiful setting, something about it just doesn't feel right. I feel like Night City is more dead than it was planned to be. I was ready to immerse myself and enjoy the setting, but I just ended up forgetting about it and went ahead with the story.
    With this being said, I have hope this game will be better. It will need a lot though. I am hoping this game will be completely different by the end of the year, with the PS5 upgrade, the DLCs, and especially the patch updates. I also hope the DLCs expound more on the endings. I got the star ending, which is considered the best, yet it was still very much bleak and moving. Feels like it is a story worth continuing.
    While I had lots of fun, it was a frustrating experience. I hope that later this year, I can return to this game, and have a way better experience. Maybe it will get the 9 it should have gotten before.    … Expand

    This game looked really promising at first but its just so buggy and glitchy espically when your in combat and its just not fun at all to play . Such a wasted potential because it has some great ideas. Just executed badly and now that its known to be such a failure of a game it makes me not even wanna play it again. Story, and everything was bad. Pass on it

    For shame CDPR, for shame. What a disappointment, even if you look past the infamous bugs, the actual game its self is fairly hollow and far too overly ambitious. For shame.

    WHAT THE ASS! WHY DID CD PROJEKT RED RELEASE THIS ON PS4 AND ADDED MORE BUGS THAN THE PC VERSION? Just don't release this on PS4 if it going to be this bad!

    This game was dissapointing, atleast on the platform I played on it, it was so buggy even after the most recent releases I just never got that far and resorted to watching youtuber/streamers play it, overall this is a bad game and I'm dissapointed in CD projekt red, I hope to see improvements for the future and I will change my score of it gets any better

It is our responsibility, as gamers, to stand our groud and make them understand, to the entire gaming industry, that games should be finished before being published. I cannot accept that some people consider updates to be a solution to what has been, since the start, a huge scheme to scam us all, up until the launch day.… Expand

    I launched Cyberpunk 2077 on my PS4 Slim several weeks after the release and most of the bugs were fixed, so I was able to play the game from start to finish. However, the quality of textures was painfully low, I usually had only 20-22 frames per second while driving around the city (with dips below 20), and some objects tended to disappear. The technical state and graphics of the PS4 version are awful, which is a shame, because the game itself has one of the best stories I have ever encountered, its gunplay is really good, and Night City is very impressive.     Cyberpunk 2077 is a game brimming with potential, and it damn near reaches it on so many occasions, but the pitfalls of its development ultimately drag it down. There's still a lot to like here for RPG fans and lovers of the genre, but it's far from the generation-defining masterwork that the world was waiting for.
