    In my opinion this is an average game. I played it for a few days, and I'm likely done with it. But I can see how others would enjoy it.

    Campaign: I like how it plays. I enjoyed some of the more open ended segments. However, the story is forced and contrived. I did not enjoy the story at all. And you know what else? I'm an American, and I'm not happy about the story. The game    In my opinion this is an average game. I played it for a few days, and I'm likely done with it. But I can see how others would enjoy it.

    Campaign: I like how it plays. I enjoyed some of the more open ended segments. However, the story is forced and contrived. I did not enjoy the story at all. And you know what else? I'm an American, and I'm not happy about the story. The game was supposed to be "shocking". And you know what? It's shocking how afraid the writers were to offend anyone. I'm not even going to talk about all the blatant feminism in the game. It's despicable that the game depicts Russians doing things that Islamic extremists have done, and still do. It seems that the writers were afraid to depict a Muslim committing an atrocity. I guess that's not PC. This game was supposed to be depicting modern warfare. Instead it refuses to depict anything that actually happens. What about ISIS? Nope, we get a fictional story that vilifies Russians. It's absurd. And you know what political group wants people to think Russians are evil? If you guessed the extreme left, you'd be right. This game is extreme left propaganda. And you know what else? The highway of death was something us Americans did during Operation Desert Storm. I understand the game is fictional, but come on. The "Campaign" gets a 1/10 for me, because I cannot get immersed in this pile of trash.

    Spec-Ops mode: This mode is complete trash too. I would rate this mode a 2/10. Juggernauts break the whole experience for me. Take Juggernauts away, or nerf them and I can see myself having fun. The last survival game I played, my buddy and I were enjoying ourselves. We had a few close calls, but we were having fun. Then, we got to the wave where you get two juggernauts. After shooting one of them with an RPG, then shooting him in the face with .50cal about 30 times, then having him brush it off and proceed to shoot me, and kill with his minigun I decided that I do not like this game and am done playing it. My buddy and I are both former Infantrymen. So we appreciate the accurate portrayal of weapons and tactics. Of course, it's a COD game. And we don't want a 100% accurate portrayal of combat. But when a guy wearing an EOD suit, wielding a minugun, who is somehow harder to kill then a vehicle comes and kills you. It just breaks any level of immersion we were experiencing at the time. It's just a cheap form of artificial challenge. In the mission, "Door Kick". My buddy and I were communicating, and tactically moving though the level. When we finally got the end, we were killed by a Juggernaut. If this was Doom, I would expect enemies like that. But this is a game that is supposed to be depicting modern warfare. And take it from me, the Juggernaut is just stupid. The 4 player co-op mode is also trash. And I should be able to play it with just a buddy or two with no randos if I don't want to. The Spec Ops mode is a complete and utter disappointment.

    Muliplayer: I enjoyed it for the first couple days. I really enjoy the gunsmith system. The customization is awesome in this game. I also really appreciate the absence of loot creates. The gun play is also really awesome. And the battle bass system is nothing to complain about. I don't care about cosmetics, so I will not purchase it. But I don't feel like the game is trying to nickel or dime me. I have access to all weapons, cammos, and attachments. Overall, the Multiplayer is really good. It's just the people. Everyone seems to be using every cheap trick in the book to get an edge. And a lot of times, I just don't have fun playing it. The campers ruin the game for me. My KD ratio is about at 1, so I'm a pretty average player. But there are just too many games where I just don't have fun because the whole other team will be camping. Walking around the map for a long period of time, not being able to find anyone, dropping dead, then watching the kill-cam to see a the player who killed you not moving and just aiming at a door is not fun at all.

    Overall, the campaign in trash. And multiplayer can be fun in short bursts. The problem is that Spec Ops is so bad, that when I get tired of multiplayer I don't have a relaxing mode to fall back too. Overall, I'm not happy with this game. But I can see how others would really like it. I hate it though.    … Expand

    Excellent overhaul, and I love the fact that they show realistic perspectives of what happens in war. I have family in military and I have studied a fair amount of military history and I absolutely love this game's portrayal on war.

    This is a comeback for call of duty because in all honesty, the last few games prior have been very unsatisfying to say the least.

    O jogo tá bonito e tudo mais, mas elementos de jogabilidade com montar na parede e o novo mini mapa destrui minha experiência sem falar do time tô kill baixíssimo que incentiva a camperagem, em conjunto com os mapas que são mais confusos da fraquia, se você procura um bom modo história eu recomendo mas não espere muito se for comprar esse jogo

    I'm really enjoying this back to basics approach. The Gunsmith adds a bit of nuance to the game as you start getting quite attached to all the different builds you can do. This is from someone who couldn't get on with fortnight or Apex.

    Not great, issues with multiplayer. Bad story etc I am not fan of creator choices it's just distasteful and not fun. I dont like Russian government especially there anti lgbt or Putin, but **** this is just nasty and I hate agreeing with possible right or boomerRussian s as a mexican dude

It couldn't be China, because if it was, China would ban Activision from ever tapping into the Chinese market, and no other country really fits the villain role. This would all be fine, but the game developers have other game mechanics that conflict with these ones. For example, the shooting while sliding, or the shooting while jumping, or the fact that characters yell call outs, even if the player is trying to sneak. Two major pros of the multiplayer are the gun smith and the way the guns feel and sound. Everything about the guns in this game are amazing. Recoil feels so real, unlike any other game I've played. The sound design is incredible, the guns sound real and heavy. Finally, the gunsmith is incredible. You can change your weapon to fit your play-style exactly. This is the one aspect of the multiplayer that feels strategic. When actually playing the game, there is very little skill involved. If you move, you will die. There are far too many random angles, corners, windows, buildings, etc. that you can get shot from constantly. This, in addition to the realistic lighting, the loud footsteps, and slower movement speed create a camping meta. I find myself dying much too often from skill-less things such as the many angles, bad spawns, overpowered weapons, and claymores. This game was not made for competitive people, it was made for people who want a game that requires no skill. Whenever I play this game now, I don't get mad, however, I do not have fun. Even when I'm doing well, I find myself having no fun. What I want to emphasize in this review is that the game is not fun. I hate to criticize the game developers so hard, but when you make a game that has conflicting features and poor decision-making all-around, you should be criticized for it. It's a shame that the game developers couldn't deliver on the game mechanics and the maps because the gun play is unmatched.… Expand

    A damn fine game and a bloody good shooter.
    Great characters, terrific narrative, fantastic graphics.
    Some truly jaw dropping moments and spectacular set pieces
    Turn back to the MW games of old

    Top 3 for worst call of duty’s of all time. Gun play is great, but everything else is atrocious. The campaign sucked, multiplayer sucks, and co op is a complete joke. I would suggest NOT wasting $60 on this piece of garbage game. Joe cecot and the infinity ward crew needs to all be fired. They have no idea what they’re doing and don’t listen to the community.

    The MP part of the game is clearly its focus. And... it's CoD. Good ol' arcade CoD, not without its share of infuriating issues, definitely far from perfect even for a game of which sole purpose is to allow you to shoot virtual folks in the face (spawns, weapon balance, you name it, CoD has a problem with it) but it's overall very playable and, if you like the classic CoD gameplay, you most likely won't be neither disappointed nor surprised.
    You know, unless you're like all the reviewers here and can no longer stand the "evil russia" trope to the point of screaming in anger instead of just saying "eh, whatever" and enjoying a game for what it is.    … Expand

    - Incitación a campear, los mapas con tantas ventanas, puertas y esquinas, solo se les ve la cabeza, hasta los desafíos de camuflajes te piden bajas agachado, apoyando el arma, básicamente que seas un paralítico a la hora de jugar.
    - Desvalance de armas por completo, en las partidas solo verás la m4, y antes solo la 725 de escopeta, pero eso si que lo han arreglado.
    - Silencio mortal como especialidad en vez de como ventaja...
    - Sonido de los pasos elevadísimos, dicen que los han ido tocando, pero por lo visto solo para cuando vas agachado y apuntando, para incitar más a campear y fastidiar las partidas, parece un desfile de elefantes cuando corres.
    En resumen, si quieres jugar la campaña, las operaciones especiales y supervivencia, pues está bien, no es nada del otro mundo tampoco, pero tienes un rato de distracción, pero pagar mínimo 70€ para esos modos de juego porque el multijugador ES INJUGABLE, déjame decirte que prefiero jugar al Mario Galaxy de la Nintendo Wii.    … Expand

    Encore un fps qui est sorti avec de nombreux beug. Mais c est qui le plus navrant, c est la communauté qui est a chier. Dans n'importent mode de jeu ceci et de la mme ca campe de partout ca joue pas l'objectif car pas de récompense au bout. Le passé de combat et sortie et je revois la même chose que bo4. Je pense que se jeux la va me dégoûter. J ai plus pris mon plaisir avec fallout 76 queEncore un fps qui est sorti avec de nombreux beug.     BUT my review is based on microtransactions, I HAVE ALREADY PAID A HIGH PRICE FOR THE GAME and now I need to pay even more to unlock custom things?

    Esse jogo foi a pior coisa que já fizeram, cai o multiplayer a cada 3 partidas, só favorece camper, e ainda dá vantagem para os campers, quem tenta jogar de vdd não é recompensado e se ferra, não aguento 10 minutos desse jogo horrível

Queria um sem frescura de andar nas paredes e voar e não sendo guerras antigas. Não traz novidades grandes. Gráficos satisfatórios, Sombreamento e texturas atuais. Alguns bugs mas nada que me decepcionou. Recomendo para a velha guarda.… Expand

    If you wanna play for the campaign wait the game to be like 10 bucks as it is like 8-10 hours long on Veteran. As for MP the devs just said F you to the players that played their games for years. I had every cod beside Infinity Warfare and BO4 and this is without a doubt the worst experience of a MP I had ever had. In    i only made this account so I can say how utterly **** is this game.

    If you wanna play for the campaign wait the game to be like 10 bucks as it is like 8-10 hours long on Veteran.

    This should have been named Modern Campfare or Camping simulator.

    Just don't buy it, **** them, this is the last COD that I play, if they don't give a **** and won't either.

    Crossplay works, and it works just brilliant! Finally, I'm able to play mouse/keyboard on ps4 with my fellas who play on the PC. The gameplay feels refreshed, I love it. The campaign is quite good as well, russians are slightly hyperbolized, but it fully represents their nature. It was always difficult for them to face the truth.

    This game is very realistic and a breath of fresh air amongst first person shooters of todays standards. My only problem is the campaign is too short. This game however delivers online is spades. It is also a real step forward for Activision.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am reviewing this game as a whole. Story, Multiplayer, and Co-Op. Let’s start with the Multiplayer. The gun play is amazing! It feels like a back-to-form return to it’s predecessors. It just feels so good to run around with an SMG and mow down 3 people in an instant or snipe from a distance racking up 13 kills or the more basic option, running around with an Assault Rifle and killing the first person you meet. Even then, it’s SO SATISFYING. The shotguns have a weight that you feel when you use them (especially the 725). The add-on combinations are great and you could feel the difference they make. Some more then others, which sucks because some add-ons are essential or even unbalanced for certain weapons. Playing with friends is quick & easy and fun as ever. The maps are 50/50. Some maps you’ll have an amazing time on (*cough Shoot House *cough) and other, you’ll have a harder time on. This was never a problem for me because I have 5 different load-outs that I use and some certainly work better on specific maps rather than others, but people have taken notice to the jarring disparity in map quality. In short, the Multiplayer is as good as ever, once you get past some of the **** like OP weapons and toxic combinations. But that won’t take too long. I’m just gonna skim past this one because it’s pretty forgettable, the Co-Op is generic and boring without friends. Even then, it gets old quick. The “story aspect” they tried to implement is nonexistent. Mediocre at best, boring and forgettable at worst. Now the part you’ve been waiting for, the story. Is the controversy warranted? Well, I don’t have a definite answer, but it is pretty problematic at certain area’s. You start out trying to bomb a Russian base for having deadly gas used in war crimes, pretty generic. You get past that part and get to the next mission. A man named The Butcher bombs a city in England. You set out for revenge and team up with some revolutionaries. These people are revolting from the Russian government, and this is where it gets hairy. You see, in Modern Warfare, the President of Russia is General Barkov. He’s a brutal leader who gasses civilians and hates revolution. Sounds pretty cut & dry right? The thing is, every single Russian in the game is either dead or actively committing a war crime. Whereas the Americans are paragons of virtue. Now, people say this a Russophobic but I don’t know. It’s not actively telling people that Russians are evil or that the Russian government is authoritative. It’s just an evil bad guy getting taken down by a good guy. I don’t think any reasonable person will play the story and play through the story and believe that Russians are evil degenerates. I certainly didn’t. The problem I have is that the creators promised a “morally gray” storyline and all we got was good-guy-kill-bad-guy type of story that we’ve seen over and over again. I don’t think it’s racist in any way. I don’t think the creators meant for it to be racist. It’s just a good American soldier take down evil Russian soldier dynamic we’ve seen many times over. It’s dumb and antiquated but it’s definitely not an attempt to make Russians look like barbarians. In closing, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has amazing Multiplayer but a dry Co-Op and a generic story. I recommend it solely for the Multiplayer. It’s just too good, it’s addictive! With friends, you won’t be able to put it down. Just do yourself a favor and skip the Co-Op. Play the story if you’d like but if you’re sensitive or easily offended, I recommend you don’t. That being said, the game is ok. Taking everything into account, I think this would be a great Multiplayer game to play either alone and grind out or to play with friends. Beyond that, it’s pretty dry. Buy it and give it a try, it’s not for everyone but if you just play COD for the Multiplayer or just like FPS in general, this is the game for you.… Expand

    The best COD multiplayer since MW2, I thoughouly enjoy the final product, and want to support this game for it's lack of microtransactions and loot boxes. (Looking at you BO4). If you've been waiting for the bs to go away before buying back in, now's the time.

I've seen this game being praised for being original. What culture called this game "risky" despite the general community of call of duty going on and on about wanting another modern call of duty title for years now. The campaign feels like the developers asked themselves what's the most controversial thing we can think of that distracts people from our mediocre writing and actual **** story. The answer? Killing children! And other innocent people. The year is 2019. That sort of **** is practically tame in terms of how those subjects are portrayed in film and other media.

    Then we get to the multiplayer. Every time I put one of these cod game on it comes up with 78 developers, representing the teams that worked on the game. Hard to tell when the multiplayer maps are designed so **** poorly. The average bedroom, at least from personal experience will have one window. Apparently I'm a silly stupid butch because in cod, the average bedroom will have 7 windows, so good luck trying to figure out which window you should actually look through for 2 seconds before you get killed by a camper you cant see because once again, with the 7 window bedrooms and 500 window buildings , you never have a single clue where to go and who to shoot. Also the camping is a major issue. Good luck trying to be good on this game without camping. The spawning system is trash and the majority of the maps feel designed around sitting and doing nothing for an entire match. Also the first greande type in this game is a claymore so the majority of matches boil down to dont even scratch your balls because chances are some idiot with one finger has placed a claymore down at some random place and with all the skill in the world sat and did nothing and got a free kill because using claymores requires so much skill. I haven't played spec ops because **** activision. I have a playstation but if xbox users cant play it because of Sony's and activisions greed then I'm not gonna check it out. It's supposed to be garbage anyway and nothing like spec ops from ww2 making the mode even more pointless. Overall I dont get why people are acting like this one cod which doesnt push any boundaries and do anything original, somehow makes up for the last 7 years or so of false promises, mediocre finished products and a general lack of caring.     Firstly, I'm not going to review this game based on politics. I get it, it's pretty concerning that something would be historically whitewashed to paint another government in a more positive light, but that doesn't deduct from whether or not if this is a good or bad game.

    I'm going to start out by saying the game looked great, even on a console with some very clean, and crisp photo-realism that I haven't really awed me since the days of CoD4. The campaign really shines for this by delivering some very believable and intense moments that actually hooked me in. My only gripe is the intense slowdown during cutscenes that did break my immersion just ever so slightly. Yet busting down doors, clearing rooms, and vital decision making is really what makes it come to life in my opinion. The campaign is one of the best in the series as long as you don't pay too much attention to the plot because it's poorly written and has one of the worst endings.

    So why does this review get such a low score if the campaign is great though?; well, for me, the multiplayer was nigh unplayable at times. Crashing, connection issues, and a barrage of technical and balance issues plague it. The campaign would sometimes crash me back to the home screen, but my real beef is not being able to connect to their services 9/10 times. I was maybe only able to play but a few sessions before the game decided it just didn't want to work anymore. The few matches I did experience went like this.

    - Spawn in
    - Try to run towards objective
    - Get murdered by a furious hail of fire
    - Spawn again
    - Try to run through the maps poorly-designed corridors
    - Either trip on one of the hundreds of placed claymores or take a shotgun to the face because the entire lobby corner camps and watches windows

    Its not very fun because of the terrible balance decisions that went into this game and it doesn't help that the maps offered to us were so poorly designed. Every map is basically just three different paths with a variety of buildings in between the and around the perimeter of the map. Running out in the open and attempting to run and gun isn't a viable option. Many matches ended with each team just camping the same objectives without much rotation.

    Sorry guys, but Call of Duty isn't making a return with this game. It's just the same rushed cashgrab put out by exhausted developers and greedy publishers that refuse to acknowledge and fix issues or even playtest their own game apparently.    … Expand

Call of duty Modern Warfare did let me down like always, I’ve wasted my money on this 60 dollar game that deliberately forces its players not to take on an aggressive playstyle, yep, a COD where you get severely punished for constantly moving around and not sitting in a corner for god knows how long.

    The story is indeed bad, there was so many missed opportunities with what it wanted to do, I genuinely do feel like they’ve been throwing “shocking” scenery just for the gist of it, it really should not exist with the constant child murder and mass civilian murder, soke of the events shown in the story were ripped off of real genuine events but infinity ward chose to flip the sides around, because Russian man bad, although the only two things i could personally praise is the gun play and how the game looks like.

    Oh and co-op is terrible, spec ops is bad and operations is merely impossible given how IW spams juggernauts and or swarms you with infinite spawning terrorist dudes, if IW perhaps fixed and personally adjusted these issues then I’d perhaps give that part of the game another shot.    … Expand

But now they totally lost my interest. I haven't bought any COD for many years due to how ridiculous their recent games have become and now I am gonna not look at COD anymore.

    You could have tried a plot of aliens taking over the soldiers and there are civil wars all over the world etc, you could have had invented a story where you play in Middle East, and you fight Americans as well as Russians. So much potential to make a good story. But nah, they won't do that. So many companies that used to make good games now make usually **** games.     This game has captivated me for a good week in a half. There are multiple issues such as camping, lack of game modes and lack of maps but these problems can be easily rectified with a few patchs. Otherwise, the game experience with graphics and sounds of guns has been amazing and you feel motivated to play on. I am also a massive massive fan of skill-based mode

    The campaign was fun and the multiplayer is decent but the spec ops mode is astoundingly bad. There are so many glitches even after their massive patch and the difficulty of this mode is really unreasonable.

    best cod in a good few years camping is great you can see some ppl getting offended and reviewing it 0 but is really a 9 and with a lil bit more work on the multi it can be a 10 but a solid good game

    In multiplayer is missing a real competitive ladder, where you can only compare on accumulation of points, not actually on how good or bad you are going like any competitive game ladder. The matchmaking is really bad made, a balanced game is very hard to find, or you win 100 - 0 or you lose 0 - 100.     Overall the game is bad. I play mostly multiplayer.

    The maps are awful, worst I've seen in any FPS and I've played a ton. My main gripe is there's no cover, no way to set up strategy, just angles on you from every direction, almost as if someone went through every map and made sure you could not hold down a position. The game encourages camping imo

    I didn't play Campaign much but yes it is soaked in "we hate russians" propaganda, someone at Activision clearly hates Russians.

    There was no reason to screw with the way minimaps work, but they did....not sure why. Footsteps are also much louder than they need to be and there's a lot of annoying and pointless chatter from your character.

    Outside of that there are a few good things. The Gunsmith is cool, there's a ton of ways to customize your weapons. In fact the amount of customization you can do is really the best part about this game. I like the killstreaks too, nice variety, and the graphics overall are decent.    … Expand

    Game is alright. Campain is a lot of fun. Spec Ops is just bad in comparison to OG Spec Ops. Multiplayer is good in it's core, but has some points (Skill Based Matchmaking, Way too short time to Kill, a lot of camping spots on maps, Bad visabillity...) that makes it unplayable at some times, because in a Match of 12 Players 10 are Camping.

    Call of Duty Modern Warfare (2019) is soft reboot to the Modern Warfare series you’ve likely played. However, this game for me was lukewarm in story and multiplayer. The story itself is fun and offers some amazing looking set pieces to play on. The graphics are some of the best I’ve seen in games on the generation of consoles as I’m playing on a regular base ps4. My issue with the story isCall of Duty Modern Warfare (2019) is soft reboot to the Modern Warfare series you’ve likely played. However, this game for me was lukewarm in story and multiplayer. The story itself is fun and offers some amazing looking set pieces to play on. The graphics are some of the best I’ve seen in games on the generation of consoles as I’m playing on a regular base ps4. My issue with the story is the overall mission length for some. A main complain I’ve seen is that the campaign is too short. CoD games have never had a lengthy campaign yet this one feels shorter than the ones before. All of the missions sort of role together with not much downtime in between so the missions feel brief. I felt like some missions were so short it was the equivalent to a Costco sample. As for multiplayer I’m having fun on the new Shoot-house map which came after launch. The main issue I and many other are having are with the maps. I have to say I hate about 90% of the maps as they just don’t flow well and make me want to not play most maps except for Shoothouse. The 2v2 maps however are fantastic and I only dislike 1 of them. As for things like ground war I miss the rolling objectives that Call of Duty WW2 had to offer. Many people disliked this game but I think it got better over time and it sold more than Black Ops 4 if I’m correct so you be the judge on which was better. Ground war feels more like Battlefield with this vast maps and the return of vehicles to CoD. I wish the Battlefield aspect was left out because it feels out of place but may offer something you like if you’re a fan of battlefield and CoD. Maps seem to encourage camping along with you getting a claymore almost instantly through level progression. This allows you to camp and then protect a flank attack. All for the last lethal item to be a thermite grenade. The game has a convoluted UI system currently which I loathe. Hopefully they patch it out. In order to play on a game mode of you’re choice in a quick match, you have to select and deselect the game modes. So select the game modes you wish yo play deselect the ones you don’t. I typically love playing hardcore which you have to toggle an additional button to get to then deselect those game modes you don’t wish to play in order to get the one you want. My friend was the party leader and for the first few matches we played standard games not even knowing hardcore was in the game we thought it was left out. Again, hopefully they update the UI because its terrible.

    I feel like this game is only rated so low by the users because multiplayer is where they will spend most of their time. Critics beat the game play the multiplayer and then on to the next form of media to review.    … Expand

    Everything is upside down. Call of Duty has a better solo campaign than multiplayer after many years. We will remember a perfectly scripted war with a dense atmosphere, but we’ll forget about the unbalanced online multiplayer. [Issue#298]

    After a multiplayer-centric episode, the COD fans will be delight with the return of a nervous and strong solo campaign. Modern Warfare is back with old-fashioned gameplay that is more grounded and efficient. The generous amount of content adds some depth to one of the best chapters of the saga to date. Magic!

    Overall Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a good title that is marred by the expectations that the Modern Warfare name brings with it. The campaign has some really stellar gameplay moments that are brought down by the mediocre plot. Multiplayer was fun but felt a bit like the competition’s output (despite there being no Battlefield release this year) which may be a turn off for some. I don’t think Modern Warfare 2019 has done anything to make me rethink waiting for substantial price drops to play Call of Duty campaigns, because clearly multiplayer is still Activision’s main focus and that’s just not where I get my kicks.
