    Call of Duty: Modern Warfare puts the franchise back where it needs to be. You get a wonderful campaign, team-oriented spec ops, and a variety of multiplayer options that cater to those who love large and small scale warfare.

    Unlike it predecessors Call Of Duty Modern Warfare is definitely what the followers of the series truly wants:

    • The campaign is finally back with one heck of a story
    • The multiplayer has several modes that are fun to play
    • The spec-ops mode is a must try
    • The graphics & the details of the game are excellent, specially if your playing on a PS4 Pro

    This game is a must try.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Greetings from Russia. Because of all the hype caused by the game it was almost impossible to remain uninvolved. To be honest, i feel deeply offended by its content. The game depicts Russian soldiers not simply as war criminals, but as literal beasts, awfully cruel savages. They shoot civilians for no reason at all, burn them alive (exactly like Nazis did), and kill women and children with their bare hands. There is an episode in the game, where a Russian soldier attempts to kill a little girl while calling her a **** and a "little terrorist". This list of examples can be continued further. All these actions are absolutely unmotivated. Because of that they seem nonhuman, they remind orcs, submen. At the same time cruel or illegal actions of the positive characters are always well motivated. This makes them complex and human, enormously contrasting with Russians. So all claims about "grey morality" are absolutely insane **** This game is nothing but disgusting propaganda. I'm not saying that Russian army does not commit war crimes - yes it does, and so does any other army, and the US army as well. Vietnam is the most obvious example. But the game shows it completely black and white. The claims about Barkov being a "rogue general" are **** as well. It is not mentioned. Moreover the fact that Moscow supports Barkov is implied several times. By the way the graphics quality is average, to say the least. Honestly, I can't believe that there are people who take this piece of garbage seriously. How can you be that narrow-minded? If you think that the US and Russia are in a state of some kind of informational cold war, at least have some respect towards your enemy. Do not stoop to a slander.… Expand

    been playing this game since it came out, i can honestly say its pretty **** for the most part. i feel they did a bunch of stuff wrong like the radar when people are shooting, no map voting, shotguns, the camping game play the maps bring out, time to kill ect... definitely one of the worsts cods iv played. its not even that im bad i got 4.76 kd just overall i feel like the could of donebeen playing this game since it came out, i can honestly say its pretty **** for the most part. i feel they did a bunch of stuff wrong like the radar when people are shooting, no map voting, shotguns, the camping game play the maps bring out, time to kill ect... definitely one of the worsts cods iv played. its not even that im bad i got 4.76 kd just overall i feel like the could of done way better. rather play world at war… Expand

Sometimes your left with no choice, but to cross a lot of open ground to get to the objectives in ground war which is impossible with all the snipers and the ridiculously overpowered killstreaks in the game.     The game itself is good, visuals are good (but nothing revolutionary), gameplay mechanics very friendly.
    Negative - the campaign plot. Scenario came out from cold war times, showing "evil Russians" killing innocents and so on.
    Script written by mentally disabled person, it's like watching last season of "Game of Thrones" :)

    Single player campaign is entertaining from action perspective, but the story narrative loses focus sometimes and doesn't quite live up to the marketing where your morality is put in to test in this story, since it's scripted most of the time.

    Multiplayer is pretty much the same deal as before, but now maps are bigger which is simultaneously good and a bad thing. Good that you have multiple ways to go, but way the maps are designed can encourage camping style even more than before, especially with the mount-function that you can take cover behind different obstacles while being stationary.

    There is lot to unlock in the multiplayer, and challenges and multiplayer missions can extend the playtime a lot. Just be ready for those campers sitting in corners with 725-shotguns...

    Graphics are amazing since this game uses new game-engine, one of the best looking games I've seen this year.    … Expand

If anything they now get their bad ideas in the game that the original team would not have let happen. So every new cod will always be inferior to the originals. Its pretty obvious. Treyarch has done the closest to keeping the game fun and fresh, but they were only as good as the last IW cod they strived to 1 up. Once the original guys were gone, their quality dropped. It's all hype and inferior.

    Even so, the game is not perfect and needs to work on the multiplayer elements and the length of the story campaign.

    This is by far the worst cod of all time. I play competitive on gamebattles, cmg, and umg. Why can't a normal cod come out? No dead silence, this game is a joke. Search and Destroy bomb placements is disgusting. Since when is Search and Destroy an offense based game mode? Lizard squad should destroy the servers so this game can be forgotten about. Complete bust and waste of money.

    The campaign is a master-stroke of both cinematic prowess and thrilling action

    Multiplayer is so horrendously atrocious, I have uninstalled the game, as there is nothing to do once you have beaten the campaign on realistic difficulty.

    The campaign was a master piece, the multiplayer has some balancing issues but overall a blast, the co op needs some improvements but still feels and plays amazing

    Campaign: I loved the campaign, I think it's one of the best shooter campaigns I've played in forever. Each mission is distinct and very tense, and some of them have you doing pretty awful stuff to complete your goal.     Campaign: I loved the campaign, I think it's one of the best shooter campaigns I've played in forever. Each mission is distinct and very tense, and some of them have you doing pretty awful stuff to complete your goal. I like that the game doesn't exactly tell you what to feel, but lets you sort it out after each mission. A great example is when you're hunting terrorists in an apartment building in London. As you stalk through the dark unit, you can hear women pleading with their men, sometimes crying, and a baby cries when gunfire erupts around it. It's very tense and serious, and at the end I was glad to have completed the mission, but I didn't feel 'good' about it, if that makes sense. If anything I wish the campaign was longer, and I wish there were more rewards for doing different things to add replay value to it.
    Multiplayer: The core of multiplayer is great. If you loved Battlefield: Bad Company 2 or Battlefield 3, good news, it's back right here. Everything has been slowed down just a touch to make it more deliberate. Using strategy and some tactics will actually yield results, instead of just zipping around in a reflex twitch-fest. A lot of people complain about camping in their reviews, but what is camping other than using urban warfare tactics to hold a position, combined with some patience? Sure, I've run into a house only to be blown up by a claymore, or shot by someone hiding in a corner probably 500 times already. But I see it like a puzzle, to be tried again (and again, and again) until I finally get inside there and get some revenge. The big issue with multiplayer is that the special missions that net you unique weapon blueprints are BROKEN. They don't track accurately, and recently one wiped my progress and suddenly deactivated itself. 48 hours later, I've restarted the game and my console and the progress is still lost. Did they not playtest their own grindy missions to see if they worked? Who knows, but it feels like a giant waste of time. I've stopped even trying to accomplish the missions until word is out that they're working properly.
    Co-op: Sadly, you can't play the main campaign in co-op mode, even though the story would seem to support it, since you're often paired up with another character. Instead, you get a smattering of terrible co-op missions that feel hastily created and tacked-on to the game. They genuinely feel like user-created missions, with tons of stupid but overwhelming enemies, and no real strategy to employ. After the amazing story campaign, it's a huge let down to play these frustrating and lame missions. To top it off, they're also terribly buggy. I've ran into a game-breaking glitch (teammate stuck parachuting in sky forever, spawned without primary weapon, etc) almost every time I've played, which makes the mode generally unplayable. Hopefully as they continue to FINISH THE GAME THEY RELEASED they will tune up the co-op modes so they work properly.
    It's nothing new for a AAA game to be released underbaked with issues, but it's a shame about this Modern Warfare reboot because it seriously undermines a great core game.    … Expand

    It has a ridiculous story, uninspired campaign, dumb AI, extremely boring missions with lack of scale and without any "wow moments" series is known for. Graphically it looks terrible even on PC with maxed out settings — the final product is nothing like it's trailers. Location's design is also unmemorable. Developers are trying to hide the game's ugliness in the dark (80% of the game is taking place at night or in dark buildings), but it isn't working. Also, there isn't any music playing on most levels. What the hell Activision?

    And, yeah, Infinity Ward also lied about "grey morale": all Russian soldiers are evil in the sake of being evil. They are killing civilians, women and children without any reasons or logic behind their actions. If you are trying to make an interesting enemy — at least give them SOME motivation or ideology. Even Nazis in the COD: WW2 wasn't such monsters as Russians in new COD: MW. The Americans and British soldiers, in contrast, are heroes that even in the "torture" episode aren't actually torturing anyone. You can't even shot the terrorist's wife in the leg to make him talk — the game won't allow you to. Because Americans never tortured any terrorists in Guantanamo or Iraqi prisons, of course. Or 'cause USA and UK are the most important markets for COD games. It isn't the game about the dark side of war as they promised. It isn't a fun shooting gallery as previous COD games. It's the stupidest, tasteless propaganda I've seen in my entire life. Activision is trying to be provoking, but they don't have balls to do it properly. For example, we all understand that this fictional Urzikstan country is meant to represent Syria, but devs are afraid to say it out loud.

    If you don't give a ..ck about the singleplayer campaign — I have bad news for you, 'cause multiplayer sucks too. It's trying to be the COD, Battlefield and Counter-Strike at the same time... and it fails to be anything. It's too laggy, unpolished and unplayable.

    Modern Warfare (2019) is the worst part of Call of Duty. Actually, it's the worst shooter I've played in years. And it's one more disappointment in a neverending chain of disappointments from modern Activision-Blizzard.     Best Call Of Duty ever. Specially graphic and physics are incredible. Story is very good. On-line the same as before which is a good point. Also the sound effect and engine is very good.

    One of the best and most realistic and thought provoking call of duty campaigns in a long time. It's not afraid to show the player the brutality of modern warfare and the tough decisions made by our armed forces every day.

    COD Modern Warfare in my opinion is a great game that has lots to do in the game. The game fills most peoples interests with a long detailed story or the action packed multiplayer. i feel like the game is the best cod since bo3. The only problem with the multiplayer is the way people play, camping players decide to sit in corners and it makes the game go on way to long.

Solid campaign that isn’t afraid to shy away from the reality of war, although it is worth pointing out that it is a remarkably short campaign as we’ve come to expect from Activision. Multiplayer is serviceable by CoD standards. Nice to have boots on the ground and a leveling system that feels meaningful and satisfying.Possibly the best CoD since the original modern warfare games. Solid campaign that isn’t afraid to shy away from the reality of war, although it is worth pointing out that it is a remarkably short campaign as we’ve come to expect from Activision. Multiplayer is serviceable by CoD standards. Nice to have boots on the ground and a leveling system that feels meaningful and satisfying.     Modern warfare makes great strides in terms of the gun play and map design. Too bad there are so many bugs that the game is unplayable. This game launched with constant freezes (every 2 min for 10 sec) which makes playing extremely frustrating. Every other game, the game will crash. Challenges do not track, graphical glitches make it impossible to see your character and weapons.

No just throw out a bunch of broken maps that have people able to get there and spawn camp you and your team the entire game.     Made an account just for this review! Game is total crap! Worst multiplayer ever in a cod game. The entire game is about camping. Run and gun doesn't exist anymore. Your player yells when he sees and enemy and reloads letting the other team know where you are. Little to no skill left in gameplay. You can't sneak up on anyone, sounds like you have pots and pans for shoes. SO DISSAPPOINTED.

    Everything is upside down. Call of Duty has a better solo campaign than multiplayer after many years. We will remember a perfectly scripted war with a dense atmosphere, but we’ll forget about the unbalanced online multiplayer. [Issue#298]

    After a multiplayer-centric episode, the COD fans will be delight with the return of a nervous and strong solo campaign. Modern Warfare is back with old-fashioned gameplay that is more grounded and efficient. The generous amount of content adds some depth to one of the best chapters of the saga to date. Magic!

    Overall Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a good title that is marred by the expectations that the Modern Warfare name brings with it. The campaign has some really stellar gameplay moments that are brought down by the mediocre plot. Multiplayer was fun but felt a bit like the competition’s output (despite there being no Battlefield release this year) which may be a turn off for some. I don’t think Modern Warfare 2019 has done anything to make me rethink waiting for substantial price drops to play Call of Duty campaigns, because clearly multiplayer is still Activision’s main focus and that’s just not where I get my kicks.
