    This is the Call of Duty I’ve been waiting for, for years. Absolutely love it. First time I’ve actually played a COD game for more than 6 months since black ops 2.

    This game is just soo much fun, i haven't had fun in years in a cod game, neither in Battlefield, it really feels good when you play it, feels satisfying.

    The bad is having really high ping in some matches, but the game is really good.

    They keep adding maps and weapons each season, i really love some items on season 4 so i had to buy it, im having a blast with friends in crossplay.

    Iam not a Call of Duty fan, but i playing it for a while. Its a good game with better Graphics and Sound now. But this game is not for me. BF is for me a better Multiplayer game.

    I wasn't enjoying myself on a cod from the time of bo3, nice gameplay, audio of the steps etc well done, all excellent, every now and then some bugs but nothing too invasive.

    Single Player : Really Good..
    Multi Player : Maps need to be redone without the noob friendly stuff..
    Spec Ops (Edited) : Thankfully they fixed this over the last few months..

    This is a brilliant game and the best that call of duty has been since MW3. Very fun game but shame about the Russophobic storyline in the campaign which was off putting.

    Let's get the good out of the way first:
    The campaign this time around is actually pretty good.     Let's get the good out of the way first:

    The campaign this time around is actually pretty good. The characters are likeable, IW tried to sell this game as an ultra-realistic representation of war, which it succeeds at most of the time. Don't get me wrong the story is no Spec Ops The Line. What's disappointing is that the campaign clocks out at about 5-6 hours (even when you take your time) Now let's get to the bad:

    Spec Ops is a buggy mess that is barely playable. It's also insanely difficult for no reason at all. The ai resembles the intelligence of a toddler with down syndrome. On top of that no one plays the mode so good luck finding a match. For the people who are upset about Survival being exclusive to the PlayStation for the year you're not missing out. It's absolutely rubbish and a complete waste of time. The only issue with Survival is that the ai is horrid and there's no post launch support for that game mode.

    The Multiplayer genuinely depressed me every time I played the game. IW have sacrificed what makes COD fun in the name of realism. The kill streaks are almost useless because the maps are cluttered with debris and buildings, kill streaks basically render going to objectives pointless since you gain nothing from capping flags (this is why scorestreaks are much better)
    Every MW match is basically an Esports tryout considering the SBMM is incredibly strict. This game punishes you for being better than other players. For instance, if you dominate one lobby the next game you'll have will put you in a game with players who sweat their arses off because IW wants to avoid you pub stomping new players. So good luck having fun with getting a 1 KD every game.

    I would not reccomend you buy this game at all. Even though the campaign is good it doesn't justify spending 50 quid on 1/3 of a game that's only 5 hours long.    … Expand

    A lot of things were missing at launch and updates added too much recycled content. These problems could be fixed but not the core gameplay which is awful

    The campaign falls flat, with a few highlights amongst a story that fails to build tension or convey the stakes of your actions. None of the antagonist characters are interesting or memorable. The house clearing mission is without a doubt the best mission, but even that mission ends just as it feels like it has begun. I would definitely have preferred a longer average mission length. The graphics impress for sure: some beautiful worlds have been created here, yet each one feels too much like the last. Far fewer memorable moments compared to the original trilogy. I get a sense that this game's campaign tried to take itself a tad too seriously, and just needed to open up a bit. I'm not saying that every mission needs a crazy set piece, but set pieces exist for a reason: they deliver excitement. The multiplayer is held back by boring map design and what feels like a step backwards in the gunplay from prior games. The game tries too hard to detach itself from previous titles, and the fact that they're bringing back previous maps into the game shows that none of the current maps appear to be resonating with the player base. As for spec ops: well, it's a joke. It's a tagged on mode that isn't worth your time. Warzone is a good bit of fun, however as it is a standalone it will not influence the score of this review. Overall, Modern Warfare is definitely a disappointment, however the developers can use this to rebound and create a fantastic new Call of Duty for the next generation.… Expand

    Modern Warfare is a super fun Call of Duty game. I love the variety of gamemodes and the fact it is cross-platform is a great step forward for the series and gaming as a whole. 60 dollars is a bit pricey, but I don't regret it, even for the very few hours I put into it. As someone who isn't really into the Call of Duty and Battlefield games, I enjoyed my time with this game.

It was only announced in CoD's Twitter account, but Activision I do not have a Twitter account, so me, having no info on the season 4 delay in both CoD 2019 Android app on my phone and in game too, had to Google for the reason for this delay. Moreover, Activision has not announced the new date of the season 4 launch. This company only did it like 24 hours before the new launch date (which was unknown before). You only know about new patch only when the launchers says that you have to donwload it. And there's no patch notes even after that. All in one - superb communications with your customers, Activision.
    2. When a new big update is released, be prepared that the download speed will be 0 within at least nearest 24 hours or even more (in Europe). If you're lucky, then you may get to the speed of around 1-2 megabytes per second after a thousand clicks on pause/continue download button. It is kinda annoying for me having a 1 Gigabit per second Internet connection. Activision, rent more servers or something.
    3. Hordes of cheaters. Activision, why don't you install some kind of a well-known and working anti-cheat system in the CoD 2019 like other, more client-friendly companies do? Your anti-cheat system (if you have such at all) is not working well enough. There are hordes of cheaters in this game. It is easy to find dozens of websites, where cheats for this game may be bought or rented. I've been killed by guys with wall hacks and aim bots for way too many times. It is high time you finally do something about it.
    4. No game size optimization at all. I have bought the original game, walkthoughed the campaign and now I often play warzone and multiplayer (bought 2 season passes). The overall size of the game on my PC is around 197 gigabytes, which is absolutely ridiculous while Red Dead Redemption 2's size is like 105 gigabytes or so, but this game is a Holiaph compared to CoD 2019. Why there's no option to delete campaing, which I do not need anymore? Whe haven't you optimized the size of the game itself and patches (a 35 gigabyte season 4 patch adding a couple of new guns, a couple of multiplayer maps, really)? The answer is Activision does not give a **ck about its customers. I will not buy any of the following season passes, skins, new CoD games or anything else from Activision until I feel that Activision treats me like a seller treats its buyer. This game has some of the most up and down content in the series, sometimes it wows you with the graphical design, then sometimes a sniper from 50 feet away kills you in multiplayer, you never know what your gonna get.

    I was super excited to jump into the game, controller in hand, I went into spec ops, ready to play some fun content with a friend. Then the realization came, both Spec Ops and “Co Op” were online only, for someone who bought this game almost entirely for the idea of playing games with friends, this was so disappointing.

    So you may be asking yourself, does Spec Ops live up to the incredibly high standards set by the trailers? Nope, this mode is one of the toughest modes I’ve played in a shooter game in a while, PVE in this game is just you being shot from enemies that constantly respawn and respawn and respawn over and over again. This mode is terrible, and the missions, bad.

    I then jumped into multiplayer, tears still in my eyes after watching myself die 20 times in a row, and the first thing I do, is I jump into a game of ten V ten on shipment, one of the new maps. As soon as I landed from the helicopter, I was having Vietnam flashbacks all over again, everyone was camping, I couldn’t move without being spawn killed, and overall hell broke loose. This map is literally so bad, I got so pissed off, I quit. I then played multiplayer for about 10 hours, making it to level 55 and having a k/d of, believe or not, 0.89. What? I thought.... Oh yeah, nevermind this multiplayer is such a grind, and it’s super fun for the most part. Besides all the campers that are shooting at you as soon as you spawn, gunplay is fun, graphics look great, and editing your weapons feels better then ever. Multiplayer is a step up from past CODs, and definitely a great PVP experience.

    Im not even going to bunch of filler and jokes into this section, because I need to get right to the point. This is, if not, one of the best Campaigns I’ve played in a COD game. This was also the first one I’ve finished on the hardest difficulty, Realism, where there is no hud. The last mission however, made me almost break my controller, after the _______ blew up, I was just getting sniped from out of nowhere, and I must of died 30 plus times, not at all an exaggerated statement. Besides that mission though, the campaign is so damn good. Overall, this is a step in the right direction for a game series that looks to be taking a step back every game, and it’s very refreshing. Spec ops is terrible, Multiplayer is fun, and Campaign is world class. Please play this game. Oh, and I didn’t play Warzone.... ew.

    This game is ridiculous. I am not even a Russian and I am mad with the stupid American propaganda that they included in this game. The funny part is that many of the events in the game are based on true stories and were actually committed by the American or British troops during the Iraq war.     This game is good. it's in my opinion the best cod game we have had in years. But the way they portray the Russians is just wrong. I know the Russians have done some bad things but this is way to far. Other than that if you just look at the campaign as a fictional story, it's good. Best sound design in any fps game ever. Best gunplay in the cod series. And one of my favorite campaign ever.

    i have played multiplayer a lot. Why must there be smoke and debris randomly coming out of everywhere all the time. It makes it hard to see and its unrealistic. The sniper glare is extremely annoying and unrealistic. The game is slow paced, the running is too slow for people who enjoy fast paced FPS. I wish i had a nitro button 90% of the time. The game modes could benefit from allowingi have played multiplayer a lot. Why must there be smoke and debris randomly coming out of everywhere all the time. It makes it hard to see and its unrealistic. The sniper glare is extremely annoying and unrealistic. The game is slow paced, the running is too slow for people who enjoy fast paced FPS. I wish i had a nitro button 90% of the time. The game modes could benefit from allowing more players on the maps and extending the time. The developers constantly switch up the maps and game modes, and almost always, remove shipment map which is my favorite because its the only map where you can rack up 100+ kills in 1 game, usually has to be domination mode. Please make small maps with maximum number of players so we can be satisfied. The guns and attachments are diverse but there are still many incredible modern guns that are missing in this game. Some of the killstreaks are terrible and useless. Make better killstreaks. Thanks.… Expand

    I think the game itself is pretty good. Single player is decent but to me it doesn't matter that much. When it comes to multiplayer it's very good. I like the change where there are no prestiges and no grinding. Sadly it's still the game where not you are getting better but your guns. After adding warzone it got a little bit better but as I don't like the BRs overall it didn't made me comeI think the game itself is pretty good.     Idk why so much hate . The campaign is so realistic and breathtaking . As for the multiplayer ..im at aloss of words ! It's shown great progress by adding ground war and 2v2 ( gunfight). I havent found any diasadvantages for Warzone yet.despite the fact that ecery camper in the world chooses to join my lobby. Go back to fortnite kid and sit on a bush!!!!

    THIS GAME IS I PROBABLY the best fps in last years. Weapons, movement, graphic it's all amazing. Yes i know there is a lot of crap put on russians in favor of americans in campain but the multiplayer and game over all Is rly amazing. Hate bad move in case of that history "errors" but give this game a try. After all warzon is FTP if u want to try it out tho i personaly like standard multi-cod more.

    For the campaign alone it's a solid 6. Propaganda nonsense-yadayada, who cares. You get a nice campaign that surprised me for a COD game who recently have not given a damn about them.
    But its solid and entertaining. Great characters despite the storyline jumping around a lot.
    The graphics are absolutely sensational. Especially the night missions.. A marvel to look at. I can understand why this game chewed almost 200gb of my hd space.
    I don´t really multiplay so i will give it a 7 for the campaign alone..    … Expand

    I've played and beaten more games during all the times Call of Duty updated then my friends have spent playing the game. 200 GB hard drive destroyer. 18-30GB updates what seem like every week. There is no casual mode so its always sweaty asf and this isnt what cod should be.     Why play as a Team when 1 Guy can run and Gun, or camp his way through the Map and Kill everyone?

    Garner himself Kill Streaks that he got from Camping, then chain them together to get 40+ kills per match, then talk smack to you about how you suck after the match is over...

    Why play the objective when every player is a Mobile tank...

    A literal spartan soldier from Halo...

    You can run, jump, slide, and hip fire with insane accuracy without a Movement penalty...

    In CSGO, you'll miss your shots if your running, and die to a good player if you dont hit Headshots.

    Lets be honest, in COD, your not aiming for people's Heads... 99% of your kills are from body shots.

    In COD, you can 360 no scope with snipers... and Sprint while holding RPG's as your secondary, and a 75lb LMG as your Primary.

    Now, I'm not saying COD has to be realistic...

    But to be a "Fun" game.. (ie: less sweaty)...

    Activision, Gives "Casuals", Gimmicky ways to get kills so that they

    "feel like they are good at the game..."

    The 725, Thermal Snipers one way'ing through smoke, riot Shield, C4, Flash Bang, stun Grenade, Heart Beat Sensor using Noobs for instance...

    Activision forces Infinity Ward and Treyarch to put Gimmicks like this into the Game not only to make players "think" they are good at the game.

    But to also make them continue playing the Game, so they will spend more money on microtransactions.
    EA is famous for doing this to it's Developer's Titles.... Best thing to do to have fun in Call of Duty, is throw your K/D in the garbage because it honestly doesn't even matter... Even guys like Shroud still die in Matchmaking to Noob campers, Claymores, Rocket Launchers ect Call of Duty is a Casual Arena Shooter, It's there for when you just wanna shoot some **** and trash talk Racist Rednecks and 12 year olds... Infinity Ward needs to do something about this. Nobody wants a cheater in their game. It is infuriating! The game is still buggy and a mess!     2. Players don't have ability to choose map in 2020. This ability is standart for any shooter for almost 20 years, but Infinity Ward still don't know about it. IW, play any other shooter, even F2P. I suppose this fact proves, that many maps in game is poor, and IW understand - if they gives players ability to choose map, at least half of maps will be absolutely empty.
    3. Poor balance in match. Quite often I play versus or with much more skilled players, than anybody in match. It leads to giant gap between commands, some player can have k/d about 3 or higher (when any other have 1.5 max), that is absolutely unachivable in fair match.
    4. Ruined weapon balance. Some of guns are much weaker, than others and some are much stronger, than others. It leads to situation when some of guns never uses at all. MP5 or MP7 are much stronger, than UZI; M4A1 are much stronger, than SCAR, .357 Snake Shot - is absolutely leader in pistols and so on.
    5. One of the worst spawn system I've ever seen. Best example here is Shipment map. At least 3-4 times in match you will die 1 second after you spawn, because you've spawned in front of SHOOTING enemy. Few times I spawned already dead under enemy vehicle and 3 times I spawned in MY molotov cocktail, that I've throwed before death. How is this even possible? IW haven't played a single match on this map? No play-tests at all?
    6. After almost any patch IW fix 3 bugs and makes 10 new.
    7. Nowadays game requires 187 Gb available space - it's more than 2 GTA V or 2 BF V. Why people still don't have ability to delete singleplayer?    … Expand

    Game is broken. In the days you can get into a match it's filled with cheaters. Also the better you are the bigger your hit box and the less damage you do can take and the less damage you do. Plus it lowers your aim assist. Pathetic rubber banding on top of skill based matchmaking and ridiculous lag comp make this game less competitive than Mario kart

    easily a 0/10. the amount of cheaters is increasing from day to day. they announced that u get a notification when a reported cheater gets banned. so far people with 70 frags 360° nocoping seem to be just good at the game. its sad because its a refreshing BR but infinity ward isnt sadly enough able to get rid of cheaters.

Certain attachments can completely overhaul a gun and change it into another gun (e.g. you can turn your AK-47 into an AKS-74u) - Ground War is a neat idea. It takes the 32 v 32 matches of the Battlefield series but takes its own unique spin on it, making great chaotic fun.

    Cons:
    - Character customisation isn’t as good as it was in previous Call of Duty titles and has a fan of character customisation in video games, I couldn’t help but be disappointed with the lack of character customisation.
    - The general map design is of a lower quality and makes matches less enjoyable as you spend so much time running around trying to find people only to get sprayed by them and this leads onto the next point
    - The TTK (Time to Kill) of the game just feels off. You get killed faster in a matter of literal milliseconds and that’s just not how a CoD should be, it kills any hope of extended firefights when your character dies faster than Usain Bolt doing the 100 metre sprint and this also leads onto the next point
    - The game feels like it is designed around the new player rather than the veteran CoD player. While this could be a good thing (attracting more and more players to the series), it fundamentally messes with the gameplay experience for the veteran player with a TTK too fast and the elimination of any tactical gameplay like in previous CoDs.    … Expand

The money you spend is just for cosmetic purposes. Story was amazing. Every one here complaining about the Russian storyline have no clue what they are saying. In war there is always an enemy.     This game had serious potential, but the online matchmaking is among the worst I have ever played in my life. They need to go back to basics and keep it simple. SBMM single handedly killed this game for me.

The map design is mostly amazing, it's complex, has small and big maps, they all have power positions, and like every other title in the franchise, camping is inevitable, some people just don't like to give the game the dynamic fast pace gameplay that it offers, the only real problem with map design is the spawn system, sometimes it spawns you in the middle of a gunfight, sometimes mikes apart from where an enemy is, this has been getting fixed slowly, but it still has to get much better. Next up is movement, this game implements a new type of running called tactical run, the tactical run makes you run a lot faster at the cost of slower sprint to fire speed when you stop running, this new feature fits perfectly within the game, because it has so many open spaces that you don't want to get stuck in, the slide makes a return, which as much as I love the dolphin dive, it's way more useful, the ADS speed changes depending on the attachments you put on your weapon, and the speed while changing weapons varies depending on the weapon you're holding, or the one you're going to change to, in my opinion the speed to throw a lethal grenade, is too slow, and that needs to be fixed. The customization, customization in cod, has never seen something like this, even tho there's no making your own emblem, nor is there a complex character customization like in ghosts or AW, the weapon customization is next level, you can place up to 5 attachments in a weapon, these attachments can vary the way your weapon works for different scenarios, for example if you have an AR you can customize it to be more like an SMG in close quarter maps, the attachments can change the: range, stability, recoil control, sprint to fire speed, ADS speed, movement speed, etc. They can also change the look on your gun, and sometimes when you switch to another type of barrel your iron sights may change, speaking about looks, there is a lot, and I mean a lot of camos to unlock, and the mastery camos are some of my fav camos in any cod. All of this is just multiplayer tho, the campaign is another subject as a whole, the campaign in this game is a masterpiece, it's not the best campaign in cod history, for me that price goes to black ops 1, but this campaign goes into my top 3 for sure, it's fun, it's strategic, is well written and the developer team really investigated on how night and secret ops work. Spec ops was honestly fun, but not great, I think this is one of the reasons that Modern Warfare isn't perfect, the missions are way too hard, the prizes sometimes don't show up, if you lose and then one of your teammates decides he doesn't want to continue from checkpoint, none of the other players can continue, sometimes the missions bug, etc. I feel like IW wasn't really concerned in co-op and that was a big mistake. Overall this game is very good, but it's not perfect, I love it and I think it was good enough to bring the franchise back to life, but if you're wondering whether to buy it or not, please have in mind that maybe you won't be good instantly at the game, it's hard to get used to the flow, how to customize your guns correctly, etc. But this game is actually a lot of fun. There is also a lot to grind on, the Damascus camo is amazing, and now there is the new obsidian camo, so there is a lot of playing time! My accurate rate would be a 4.5 because there is some things that are yet to make this game perfect, but I know they will be fixed, truly is great game. Hope this is useful for you.… Expand

    I don’t know what it takes to be such a Russophobic script. I wanted to buy a game now, but I read reviews, a description of the script. I am a fan of COD, but I will never buy any more games in this series. I will wait for the next Battlefield.

    The campaign is very good, although I agree that they should stop demonizing Russia. But I mostly played multiplayer so I will review that. The weapons feel great and the gunsmith, where you can customise all your weapons, is a very good idea, but the maps ruin the game. Camping is way too dominant. And when you try to play aggressive you get punished for it. This makes the game for players that are not sitting around in one spot all match very frustrating. Everything else is good, but the maps are the most important aspect of the game and they are unfortunately bad.
    To who would i recommend this game? To players that like playing aggressive : Stay away from it and wait for the next CoD with better maps.

    Only good gunplay and graphics that's it. Buggy and laggy don't waste your money. Just get the old call of duty remastered it's much better then this rubbish. Also why the hell is it so hard to play splitscreen n why can someone tell me why I have to download so many add ons to play with my friend splitscreen

    Game mechanics are better than ever!
    Multiplayer: Great experience, deep weapon customisation.
    Campaign: Too short, and new captain price is does not have the same nobility and empathy. It is alright, but a bit empty for that price tag.
    I bought it, but I feel the campaign should be more complete.

    Maps, uav, camping, matchmaking,missions,carmos,battlepasss,spawns these things are all messed up and after 6 month they still havent fixed these issues(most of them they didnt even tr to fix.)

    Worst cod till now for me.Really bad balance not a single moment of fun online. Spawns are ridiculous. Too expensive for what it is especially when warzone is free. Campaign is completely bugged.

    Everything is upside down. Call of Duty has a better solo campaign than multiplayer after many years. We will remember a perfectly scripted war with a dense atmosphere, but we’ll forget about the unbalanced online multiplayer. [Issue#298]

    After a multiplayer-centric episode, the COD fans will be delight with the return of a nervous and strong solo campaign. Modern Warfare is back with old-fashioned gameplay that is more grounded and efficient. The generous amount of content adds some depth to one of the best chapters of the saga to date. Magic!

    Overall Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a good title that is marred by the expectations that the Modern Warfare name brings with it. The campaign has some really stellar gameplay moments that are brought down by the mediocre plot. Multiplayer was fun but felt a bit like the competition’s output (despite there being no Battlefield release this year) which may be a turn off for some. I don’t think Modern Warfare 2019 has done anything to make me rethink waiting for substantial price drops to play Call of Duty campaigns, because clearly multiplayer is still Activision’s main focus and that’s just not where I get my kicks.
