    Lots of people saying this is a big ploy to slander Russia. Sure, it pictures Russians as bad guys but I didn't come out of this game saying "HEY I HATE RUSSIANS NOW" I just came out of the game saying, "Man, that was an entertaining story with characters that I quite enjoyed." Nobody plays the game and says "OOOH I SURE DO HATE RUSSIA!"
    Who are they supposed to make the game based on?    Lots of people saying this is a big ploy to slander Russia.     Ignore the Russians (who are forgetting this is a GAME), it's an awesome call if duty and its the first one I've bought in nearly 7 years... Great job on this one with an amazing story... Buy this game if you're not a woke moron, it's a great game

    This is probably the best Call of Duty so far. It isn't any Sci-Fi **** and the graphics are topnotch!
    The TTK seems perfect to me. The campaign is also great. I replayed the terrorist house mission 5 times that's how great it is. But the fictional war crimes by the Russians are shocking (same as the "no Russian" scene) and too much. But since it is not the whole game my rating won't be    This is probably the best Call of Duty so far. It isn't any Sci-Fi **** and the graphics are topnotch!

    The new attachment system for all the guns is great and really gives you a good reason to grind. No attachment feels overpowered or too weak.

    And for god's sake finally, no micro-transactions or loot boxes in the game! I really hope it stays this way as long as possible. Cosmetics can really only be obtained by actually playing the game and the missions for it can't be skipped in any way. Great!    … Expand

    This game is amazing, one of the best campaigns I’ve played. Everyone who’s all upset about Russia being painted in a negative way..GET OVER IT. It is a game, they WARNED you multiple times that this game would be unapologetic and y’all still get all butthurt over it. I swear this world is softer than baby **** now and it’s funny as ****

    Even after I have to create new (non-Russian) account to purchase this game in store I am given 8 out of 10 to this game for awesome multiplayer, for the great gunfight mode (2 vs 2) and for the not so bad campaign (all "cranberry" and propaganda do not count, without it my rating would be even higher).

    Single player- excellent. Really a new breath of fresh air in the series. Taking risks and really stretching the boundaries.

    this COD has the best campaign in years and that Clean House is the best tactical stealth mission in any COD ever.

    I think it’s a great game that Activision have published for a while. It has graphic and game mechanics. Though the storyline is very dark; that is both good and bad, this is because many people want to experience the game as realistic as possible, on the other hand, it can be very political and people can offended. I think there can be room for improvements.

    Call of Duty Modern Warfare has a fun and enjoyable campaign but like most call of duty games it is quite short (6 hours). The multiplayer gameplay has changed with a lot more people camping and it’s still too early to say whether it’s good or not because they always release new content.     COD Modern Warfare in my opinion is a great game that has lots to do in the game. The game fills most peoples interests with a long detailed story or the action packed multiplayer. i feel like the game is the best cod since bo3. The only problem with the multiplayer is the way people play, camping players decide to sit in corners and it makes the game go on way to long.

    Unlike it predecessors Call Of Duty Modern Warfare is definitely what the followers of the series truly wants:

    • The campaign is finally back with one heck of a story
    • The multiplayer has several modes that are fun to play
    • The spec-ops mode is a must try
    • The graphics & the details of the game are excellent, specially if your playing on a PS4 Pro

    This game is a must try.

    Call of Duty: Modern Warfare puts the franchise back where it needs to be. You get a wonderful campaign, team-oriented spec ops, and a variety of multiplayer options that cater to those who love large and small scale warfare.

    I wasn't enjoying myself on a cod from the time of bo3, nice gameplay, audio of the steps etc well done, all excellent, every now and then some bugs but nothing too invasive.

    I bought this game out of anger due to the review bombing. Using a grudge against people who worked tirelessly on a passion project is simply, just wrong.

    This is a re-imagining / prequel possibly to the MW line of the series. The story is tight and fleshed out, the visuals and sound are fantastic. The “realistic” difficulty (basically just no HUD) was a lot of fun to play through. The    I bought this game out of anger due to the review bombing.     I hate when people say that this game is trash, its really good, the campaing is really good and i enjoy it, maybe it could be longer but this is and introduction to a new story so i could say that its really enjoyable, in the MP i hate that there are just campers anywhere but discarting that its really good too.

    Pretty fun game. The campaign was nice (a little hard on Russia at times) and the gunplay and pacing are great this time around. I love the return to a modern setting.

I believe this is the best CoD we've had since Bo2 in my opinion because this game reallly brings back the joy of what the Call of Duty franchise was to other people before Ghosts. Not only that but the campaign, the way it is presented and the scenes that are both shocking and amazing is a very ballsy move by Infinity Ward because some scenes, like the one where we play as a young Farah really capture the horrors of war and trully gives you the sense of fear from these encounters or they make you feel certain emotions about the situations these people end up in.

    Most the bad reviews I see her on Metacritic feel very unjustifiable to be honest because you get this vine from their comments that they just bring this "traditional" hatred from other games and bring it here to this great game because it's new and wants to shake things up a bit.    … Expand

    This game is very realistic and a breath of fresh air amongst first person shooters of todays standards. My only problem is the campaign is too short. This game however delivers online is spades. It is also a real step forward for Activision.

    Its a game and quite a good one. Must admit I never even look at who I am shooting or what side I am on. Its just a FPS. Just wish there were more MP maps. Perhaps it is anti-someone or perhaps not, I don't know I just play the game.

Incredible campaign, with faces old and new alike, and multiplayer that feels impossible to put down. It would be 10, but Multiplayer is still a little finicky and glitchy, like all your guns saying they're level 1 but keep all the attachments, to Cross-Plat players randomly being kicked from your party. Regardless, the boots on the ground style of this COD is a breath of fresh air and Gunsmith is probably one of the best things in a COD game so far.… Expand

    10/10 multiplayer: by far the best multiplayer on a cod game since black ops 2 my personal favourite mode is cyber attack for it is quick and you rarely have to deal with campers, fast pace.
    6/10 Spec-ops: Mediocore, I have only played about 1 hour of this but from that I can say that it is tough, but fun if it is your thing    8/10 campaign: generally interesting story with good setup.

This is old school cod and I love it, us OG cod players are playing this game fine and dandy while newer gen players are complaining that the game is bad because they cant play because they are so use to the sci fi crap.     Call of duty has always been a series in which I wouldn't buy until I saw the reviews because I new there would be some sort of micro transaction **** but this year i was more then excited I bought it on the day of release and have not been disappointed.     I think the Game deserves some love, I've played for almost a month and experienced what it has to offer and yes there are annoying parts about the game, but if you want to buy it go for it.

    The game is great, reminds of the old COD. Lots of good straightforward gameplay and action. I enjoy playing it immensely. Ignore the virtue signaling trolls who don't like how the Russians are portrayed. No one cares....

    Some reflections: - New MW maps are not as characteristic as the old ones - they lack characteristic places, they are just unremarkeble.     Some reflections:
    - New MW maps are not as characteristic as the old ones - they lack characteristic places, they are just unremarkeble. For example - Crash has got the wrecked heli in the center of the map; Crossfire is the characteristic street with many hideouts; Terminal or Highrise from MW2 were very oriiginal. Each map was diffrent. In MW 2019 maps are quite similar. We need differentiation and specific map constructions, not just some buildings and lanes.
    - Hardcore mode is a bit hidden in the game modes menu. It is easier to play Realism Mode, that is not better at all. Fewer people play HC mode, because it's hard to find it. I think that Realism should be more hidden and the HC rather on the top!
    - There could be the supply drops for points earned in the game - a nice incentive to collect points for which you can buy them. Something is missing. That would be really encourage.
    - Unlocking weapon accessories is too fast. It's hard to appreciate the time and effort in the game. We had to spend quite a few hours in Battlefield game to unlock another reflector sight.

    Pros:
    + Shooting mechanics are great, new animations also
    + Operators, guns, perks, killstreaks - just old good COD
    + Edgy weapon customization
    + Old COD maps - Crash and Vacant are best for now! I am waiting for more classic maps
    + Music is great! Similar to all new military movies and even John Wick soundtrack.

    I know this is just the Season One and a lot can change in the future. Personally, I'm waiting for new maps. It would be nice to see the FN2000 from MW2, some Sig Sauer weapons, HK UMP...

    The evolution of the call of duty is this game. A history let you without breaht, and a perfect multiplayer. Also the coop its a funny way to expend your time. In my opinion game of the year. The best call of duty.

    That's a somewhat polemic topic, but here I go: Yes, the history rewriting is hideous and should NEVER be done. It is dangerous and a menace to knowledge. Aside from this, the game is one of the best I played. Very fun to play, and jaw-dropping graphics. It id a shame such great work has this type of flaw. It is something that I hope never happens again.

Adorei o jogo, gráficos lindos, jogabilidade ótima com controles bons, suaves e responsivos, história legal, personagens legais, mas o que realmente brilha no jogo é o fato de que nós jogamos com uma criança, uma **** criança, isso nunca foi feito antes (até onde eu saiba) na série COD e foi realmente uma surpresa do caralho ver isso. O jogo é chocante em algumas partes, não diria muito, mas pelo jogo mostrar a realidade de muitas pessoas, algumas partes podem ser realmente tristes e tensas. O plot-twist também é muito legal, realmente é difícil de imaginar que alguém como o Hadir roubou as toxinas (eram toxinas? Eu nem me lembro, faz um tempinho desde que joguei hasdhsaudh). Infelizmente acabei não podendo jogar o modo online (visto que não possuo um PS4 ;( ) mas tenho certeza que ele é muito massa. Em geral, ele é um ótimo jogo, vejo que muitas pessoas ficaram putas pelo fato de terem russos e eles serem tratados como os vilões no jogo, muitos dizendo que é preconceito com os russos e que o jogo teve uma propaganda em cima de política e pá, sendo sincero, acho que não era preciso ter russos sendo os vilões, se não me engano isso já foi feito, não manjo da política aqui do Brasil, imagina dos outros países ahsdasud, por isso não tenho muito o que dizer sobre o negócio dele ter tido muita propaganda em cima de política e coisas assim, mas bem, deixando essas coisas de lado, COD: MW é um ótimo jogo com gráficos lindos, jogabilidade ótima, história legal, personagens legais, coisas chocantes e um plot-twist massa. If I were to suggest this particular video game to another person, it would surely be shortly before I assassinated them, as I can think of no scenario where I would recommend such a painful experience- were it not to precede ones own death. Multiplayer had it's problems when it came out but it has mostly been ironed out and is a pretty pristine experience now, plot is fantastic, yes there is "Grey morality" the US declares Farah's forces terrorists and Barkov's forces commit war crimes, I've seen people give this game a 0 purely over the highway of death thing but I don't see that as enough of a reason to hate this game, (Although it is why I'm giving it a 9 instead of a 10)
    Also is you think they treated the Russian's unfairly in this game, please take a step back and realize they demonized Barkov's forces, not the whole Russian nation.
    I've poured almost 8 days into the multiplayer now and I plan on playing till Infinity Ward drops their next game. Truly an amazing Call of Duty and by far the best one is years. You really hit it out of the park this time Infinity Ward.    … Expand

I really enjoy the shotgun meta as it encourages close up battles. Snipers are actually decent compared to the previous games where enemies would jump really high making sniping harder. Look I know a series that goes on for a long time usually loses track after the tenth, but I’m gonna be real I’m not gonna **** the campaign was fantastic I don’t know what the hell anyone is talking about it was exactly like the old modern warfare games and yes it did involve politics with the Russians but that’s war and if you have a problem with that then it’s simple don’t play the game, the characters were very likable with honestly Alex becoming my favorite and honestly the only grudge I have with it is that they did not show general Barkov’s motivations on why he hated terrorists so much and yes they did commit atrocities but it was to ground the story and show how **** up it was and set the stage for the future, other than that the campaign is, dare I say FANTASTIC. Now the multiplayer I love it it really is a return to form and I never thought I would say that. The guns feel fantastic and the ttk is fair so I don’t know why anyone is complaining about that, but here is the big one. THE MAPS they are all viable for the sandbox of weapons and equipment, there is low ground high ground for snipers and close quarters for people who like to run smg’s and shotguns. The class customization is the best in the series BY FAR way better than modern warfare 2 which is a very hard thing to accomplish. The only maps I really don’t like is Euphrates bridge, Piccadilly, the store map which is just god awful, and Aniyah palace. Now the reason why I chose those is because all the weapons don’t fit in that map or you got some camping **** but it is really in those maps where I REALLY had a problem with camping all the other maps are A plus. Now I know Warzone got added and I just want to say WOW! I mean they really outdone themselves here bravo there is so much NEW! Gulag, 150 players, buy station, currency, I mean the mode is great and there is over 60 million players as of the time of this review so over all with Warzone 10/10. Now the final one CO-OP, I can’t say I’m a big fan and it’s disappointing because back in MW3 and MW2 this was one of my favorite modes, but the enemies are way to difficult, the objectives are RIDICULOUSLY difficult to accomplish and overall I’m really not liking this mode so overall 4/10 just to be generous. The map design is mostly amazing, it's complex, has small and big maps, they all have power positions, and like every other title in the franchise, camping is inevitable, some people just don't like to give the game the dynamic fast pace gameplay that it offers, the only real problem with map design is the spawn system, sometimes it spawns you in the middle of a gunfight, sometimes mikes apart from where an enemy is, this has been getting fixed slowly, but it still has to get much better. Next up is movement, this game implements a new type of running called tactical run, the tactical run makes you run a lot faster at the cost of slower sprint to fire speed when you stop running, this new feature fits perfectly within the game, because it has so many open spaces that you don't want to get stuck in, the slide makes a return, which as much as I love the dolphin dive, it's way more useful, the ADS speed changes depending on the attachments you put on your weapon, and the speed while changing weapons varies depending on the weapon you're holding, or the one you're going to change to, in my opinion the speed to throw a lethal grenade, is too slow, and that needs to be fixed. The customization, customization in cod, has never seen something like this, even tho there's no making your own emblem, nor is there a complex character customization like in ghosts or AW, the weapon customization is next level, you can place up to 5 attachments in a weapon, these attachments can vary the way your weapon works for different scenarios, for example if you have an AR you can customize it to be more like an SMG in close quarter maps, the attachments can change the: range, stability, recoil control, sprint to fire speed, ADS speed, movement speed, etc. They can also change the look on your gun, and sometimes when you switch to another type of barrel your iron sights may change, speaking about looks, there is a lot, and I mean a lot of camos to unlock, and the mastery camos are some of my fav camos in any cod. All of this is just multiplayer tho, the campaign is another subject as a whole, the campaign in this game is a masterpiece, it's not the best campaign in cod history, for me that price goes to black ops 1, but this campaign goes into my top 3 for sure, it's fun, it's strategic, is well written and the developer team really investigated on how night and secret ops work. Spec ops was honestly fun, but not great, I think this is one of the reasons that Modern Warfare isn't perfect, the missions are way too hard, the prizes sometimes don't show up, if you lose and then one of your teammates decides he doesn't want to continue from checkpoint, none of the other players can continue, sometimes the missions bug, etc. I feel like IW wasn't really concerned in co-op and that was a big mistake. Overall this game is very good, but it's not perfect, I love it and I think it was good enough to bring the franchise back to life, but if you're wondering whether to buy it or not, please have in mind that maybe you won't be good instantly at the game, it's hard to get used to the flow, how to customize your guns correctly, etc. But this game is actually a lot of fun. There is also a lot to grind on, the Damascus camo is amazing, and now there is the new obsidian camo, so there is a lot of playing time! My accurate rate would be a 4.5 because there is some things that are yet to make this game perfect, but I know they will be fixed, truly is great game. Hope this is useful for you.… Expand

    One of my Top 3 fav CoD games, story is great, gameplay is fun and the mechanics are good. It's sad seeing it get review bombed by angry Russians. I've always said it and I'll say it again Metacritic is the most unreliable review source precisely because it's so easy to review bomb games here. As for the game, I would recommend 100%. (Unless you're russian, I guess...)

    Visually-pleasing, great sound, good gameplay mechanics, good game design (especially with the Gunsmith feature), fun and addictive multiplayer experience. Mediocre singleplayer storyline with unfortunately, anti-Russian element, bad historical revisionism and weak characters. Though, it's a good return and reboot of the Modern Warfare series. Looking forward to the next installment after this.

    A lot of people are trying to knock the game and say it's bad just because of the campaign mode being racist towards russians. Even though most people play the multiplayer mode online with their friends or they play the new ground war mode where you play in a lobby on a team of four maximum, or solo, in a lobby of 100 others and you fight till the last person or team is standing. This new mode has brought many new players to the game because it is similar to a very popular game named fortnight. Another thing that this game has brought that is new is having the option to buy the full game or if you're not into playing ground war or multiplayer you have the option to purchase just one part of the game saving you money.
    CorgiXR only really states how the campaign mode is bad and unrealistic but doesn’t really talk about the good things the game has and just overlooks them. Although I agree with CorgiXR up to a point about the campaign mode depicting Russians as savages , I cannot accept their overall conclusion that people will believe that the story plot in the campaign mode as being true. I do not believe that the campaign mode will change someone's political views on Russians because it is just a video game and they need to make the story interesting so people won’t say that the campaign mode is boring and doesn’t tell a good story. I would have been able to agree with CorgiXR if he was able to explain why he liked the game and not just focus on just the one bad thing about the game. This game has introduced many new maps and modes and needs more credit then some people are giving it. This has been the best call of duty game i’ve played just because it brought a new ground war mode and added smaller maps into the multiplayer mode making it almost like a laser tag or paintball game with your friends with a lot of action and wonderful graphics.    … Expand

    People are crying because there is too much "Russophobia" when MW2 and 3 are based on the same principle, it's not the greatest campaign ever, but to give it a 0/10 because you think that the campaign is a bit cliche is a bit too much. The multiplayer is awesome and feels really good, as do the weapons which pack a good punch with their design and sound.

    The best call of duty search experience I’ve had. A ton of guns with friends. Story was amazing too. Special operations was sub par but I don’t play that. One of the greatest and over hated cod’s of all time.

    This is one of the top five COD games of all time. The gunplay in this game may be the best in the series. The gun customization is the best in the series. Game modes such as hardpoint, HQ, and domination continue to be great. The maps are okay. Probably one of the bigger setbacks compared to games like MW2 and the original MW. Most the guns feel powerful and effective creating a nice variety. I have no issue with skill based match making. I shouldn't be playing someone who has never played a COD game before and I also have no interest in playing someone that streams for 5 hours every night. They should add a universal ranking system though so you know how good of a lobby you are in.

    The campaign is solid but sometimes feels like it is just a compilation of emotional and dramatic bits from recent movies and political debates. It has those intense scenes but they often feel disconnected. Also the amazing gunplay in multiplayer just never has the same feel in campaign. It is still a fun six hours but nothing special.

    The multiplayer really carries this game's rating. The campaign wasn't particularly interesting as the topic was heavily overused and the plot was meh. It had a couple of unique missions which really left a good impression.

    What IW should've made better is spec-ops Co-op modes: survival in particular. The engine that runs the game is simply awesome.     I've experienced a bug whilst playing singleplayer - the game crashed and I've lost all my progress whilst being at the final mission - which kinda sucked.    … Expand

    This is a solid call of duty game. The best in the past 5 years for sure. Great graphics, movement, gunplay and tons of guns and attachments. Well worth the $60. Highly recommend for any casual FPS gamer. Much better than their past two releases.

    I have had so much fun in this game throughout the hundreds of hours I've played. Multiplayer is a bit slow paced but shoot house is so much fun. The campaign tells a compelling story and spec ops.. is there. Overall it's a amazing game.

    + A mighty fine return to form for a series in dire need of a reboot
    + Graphics are arguably the very best on the system
    + Gameplay has an excellent balance of fun without feeling too arcade-esque
    + Multiplayer maps are very well designed
    + Brooding aesthetic is atmospheric

    - Online community does and will always hold the series back

    A great Reboot game about this franchise,the gamefor his graphics is very amazing,gameplay is similar to other fps genre...the campain is okay but I dont understand all the reviews about US propaganda I think even if you delete this thing its still a good game

    Campaign review only. It is that i expected. Graphicly impresive spec ops game. Story is good enough for a game like this and the performance of voice actors are top notch.

The campaign has some fun moments, especially the stealthier ones (although at times it devolves into a boring shooting gallery), warzone is a great BR, the mp is actually pretty good - although some of the ground war maps are really stupid once the kill streaksThis is the first COD I’ve played in years (Battlefield was my main shooter), and I have to say, it’s a very polished product.     Everything is upside down. Call of Duty has a better solo campaign than multiplayer after many years. We will remember a perfectly scripted war with a dense atmosphere, but we’ll forget about the unbalanced online multiplayer. [Issue#298]

    After a multiplayer-centric episode, the COD fans will be delight with the return of a nervous and strong solo campaign. Modern Warfare is back with old-fashioned gameplay that is more grounded and efficient. The generous amount of content adds some depth to one of the best chapters of the saga to date. Magic!

    Overall Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is a good title that is marred by the expectations that the Modern Warfare name brings with it. The campaign has some really stellar gameplay moments that are brought down by the mediocre plot. Multiplayer was fun but felt a bit like the competition’s output (despite there being no Battlefield release this year) which may be a turn off for some. I don’t think Modern Warfare 2019 has done anything to make me rethink waiting for substantial price drops to play Call of Duty campaigns, because clearly multiplayer is still Activision’s main focus and that’s just not where I get my kicks.
