I'll just start by stating the obvious - this game is amazing from top to bottom, graphics, combat, semi-open world, etc.

    3) The thing that made me almost hate the game - RIDDLER. Nothing more to say except f that guy and whoever thought it was a good idea to put in TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY THREE trophies in the game. That was two hundred too much.

Just completed this on psplus - it is an excellent game full of details and easter eggs from other DC worlds (Otisberg!!!) sporting the best gameplay in the series. The visuals are excellent with a seamless open world to explore with top notch voice acting and a unique story. For any DC fan (or fan of any other arkham games) this is a MUST HAVE.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Batman: Arkham Knight is a good game. It has great visuals and great combat that’s fluid and satisfying but it’s also very flawed. It’s story is terribly written filled with plot holes and illogical errors. One part of it is a poor rip off of Under the Red Hood with a really obvious twist. Scarecrow and The Arkham Knight were wasted in the main story in favor of Joker. Rocksteady turned Jason Todd into a bad villain. He’s generic, whiny and is a brat with 0 motivation except revenge. Jokers plot is ok but the blood subplot is horrible.

The boss fights are horrendous. The Tankmobile gameplay is repetitive and the opposite of Batman. The side missions are repetitive and lacking. Kevin Conroy phons it in as Batman. Batman is boring. The ending is a rip off of the The Dark Knight Rises.

Arkham Knight is an ok game but a major disappointment as the finale of the Arkham Series. Rocksteady didn’t want to make it and it was obvious.

An otherwise excellent game, it is totally marred by extremely annoying, long sequences of tank battles, which many of them are stealth in gameplay. It damages the game so much that the player wants to throw the gamepad out of the window. If I wanted to play stealth World of Tanks, I would buy such a game. It is a shame that a bunch of idiot developers came up with such a stupid gameplay ideas.

Most of the main mission are really interesting and nice to play. The wrong part came from the side mission, most of them are really annoying and absolutely unnecessary, most of them does not feet the main story at all. And the very wrong part came from the Batmobile mission, and there's really a lot of them. This looks like an eternal battle with stupid tanks and all these parts are exactly the same. Just boring as a World of Tanks game was. That's sad since this is really about reduce the quality of the game, and even if you choose to do not do the side mission you have anyway a lot of them in the main arc missions too. And what is really wrong is you need to do all the side missions if you expect to have to correct complete ending and that's a shame since as I've said the game is really good otherwise.

Why i took 2 points because Scarecrow didn't give me that feeling he is main villian because he mostly runs away from us and the Arkham Knight we see Batmobile more than him and why game is named Arkham Knight if the main villian is Scarecrow. We needed to see Arkham Knight more and he was like a teenager.

This is an odd game. It has all the fun and enjoyment of the previous Arkham games but then it'll do a 180 and force you into batmobile missions. If I wanted to place a racing game or a tank battle game, I would've bought one of those instead.

The rest is tried and true to the Arkham franchise. If you've played previous installments then you know what you're in for, which is a lot of fun being Batman. Story was ok. Not great but not terrible. Wish we could have had some main story play as the sidekicks to be honest.

It's worth a cheap purchase, which at this stage is what you should be getting it as. Still a fun game overall!

I played and enjoyed Arkham Asylum and Arkham City when they came out. I am a Batman fan and a fan of the Arkham series.

Unfortunately Arkham Origins didn't ever run properly on my PC and I gave up on getting this third real installment in the series, because there were problems with the PC port and until recently I didn't own a PS4. By the time I'd gotten a PS4, I'd more or less forgotten about the series (and this game in particular), but when I saw it at a very low sale price, I couldn't resist it.

Somehow I was going in cold; I knew next to nothing about the story or any changes that had been made to the gameplay (I hadn't even heard about the addition of the Batmobile). I settled in to play it and I was almost immediately impressed by the art design, acting and storytelling. When it came time to actually take control of the Batman, that's when things started to go wrong.

At first I thought I was just rusty. I've not played an Arkham game in some time and I thought that having recently played similar games (such as the PS4 Spider-Man and certain Assassin's Creed titles), my confused hands might take a little time to adjust to the control scheme. However, things didn't get any better. The addition of the Batmobile only seemed to compound the issue. Almost everything about the control scheme feels incredibly counter-intuitive, to the point where my biggest challenge in the game is fighting with my own instinct to push a specific button to perform a specific task.

For instance - while driving in most games, you would use one of the right triggers to go forwards and a left trigger to reverse, but in this game square reverses the car... unless you are in battle mode, in which case it fires your secondary weapon. As for controlling the Dark Knight himself, I instinctively try to open my gadget wheel using a left trigger, but that summons the Batmobile (or more likely triggers the voice of Kevin Conroy telling me that I can't summon the Batmobile). Instead you pull up the gadget wheel on the d-pad, which feels clunky - especially because the rest of the options on the D-pad there look just like the gadget wheel (missions wheel, etc) and I keep opening those by accident.

For the first time in well over a decade I found myself hunting for an option to remap the controller, but that option didn't appear to be available.

In early Arkham games, I was impressed by how they make you feel like Batman (in the same way the Spider-Man game makes you feel like Spider-Man). Everything you do looks cool and effortless. In Arkham Knight, my Batman looks like a recovering alcoholic, stumbling around the screen and bumbling into enemy fire.

Possibly as a result of my issues with the control scheme, or maybe to replace emphasis on Batmobile combat, fistfights now feel so difficult that I was forced to play in easy mode. I hated the Batmobile at first, but I got more used to it (because it is easier) and now prefer it. However, the battles do feel a bit rote. Worse still, driving around a city blowing up drone tanks just doesn't feel very Batmanny, not in the same way combat has in the previous games.

And I wish the HUD, the controls or the over-use of the car were the only sources of frustration, but they aren't, unfortunately. The game is often buggy, often confusing and often leads you wandering around some dead end trying to initiate an encounter or mission that isn't technically available yet.

For example, on my first visit to GCPD, I picked up a Riddler mission. I followed the navigator to a big metal door with a lone green light shining on it and spent thirty minutes trying to figure out how to get inside. Hours later into the game, I found that same door again with a big green question mark painted on it - and it opened for me. When the game had sent me before; the mission just wasn't available. I'd wasted 30 minutes feeling stupid and frustrated.

Later a bug prevented a hoard of enemies from entering a room, which was needed in order to progress in the game, so I spent over 20 minutes in an empty room assuming I had missed something.

Later still, a prompt to open a door didn't appear, so I assumed it wasn't enter-able and wasted time exploring another empty environment.

At one point I followed a forensic trail backwards by accident (because the city looks the same and nothing indicated the direction I should travel in) and spent a further 20 minutes investigating a dead end.

All of this makes the game incredibly tedious and not much fun to play.

However, it gets a full five points, because in spite of all of this, there is enough there to compel me to keep playing it.

The game is bad, but the design is fantastic. The story has provided some fantastic Batman scenes and character moments. Not only that, but there are storytelling techniques being used here that you rarely see, that take full advantage of the video game medium.

As a result I am both frustrated and impressed

Nevertheless, Arkham Knight delivers the best game play of the series with a perfectly suited open world while it does leave a bit to be desired when it comes to story, boss fights, and difficulty.

The gameplay is near perfection. The predator and combat sequences have been improved upon with new gadgets and moves and fine tuned to give us the best gameplay in an Arkham game yet. Upon replaying any of the earlier games, it becomes clear that the gameplay was improved by the time Arkham Knight came out. The Batmobile sections, although overused at times, add another fantastic method of transportation around Arkham City. The open world feels the perfect size and is full of Easter eggs and puzzles. The combination of the batmobile and grapple gun gives Batman a variety of options to explore the city.

However, for all of the game’s gameplay achievements, it falls short with its writing. The game’s titular villain turns out to be quite disappointing, a very powerful moment in the game is ruined by a later revelation, and overall the story feels like a bit of underwhelming conclusion to the Arkham trilogy. The secret ending also requires 100% completion and potentially sets up future games. Nevertheless, AK is a massive improvement over Arkham Origins in terms of voice acting and the original cast from the first two games has returned.

The side missions are also particular disappointing and the return of a character who was phenomenal in previous games is lackluster and leaves much to be desired. Along the same lines, the boss fights in this game are particularly bad especially when compared to the iconic boss fights from Arkham City. The boss fights were very much a step in the wrong direction for the series.

Lastly, I found the game to be far too easy. Even when playing on the hardest difficulty, the AI difficulty does not increase, instead all that happens is their damage input increases while your health drops. It would have been great for Rocksteady to make more meaningful difficult changes.

Overal, Arkham Knight has a story and boss fights that fail to live up to consumer expectations following the massive success of Arkham City. Nevertheless, the Arkham freeflow combat and predator sections have been perfected in this game, and yes, it does make you “feel like Batman”.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Batman AK is an absolute blast to play and overall a great game. It, however, does not move in to the legendary category that its predecessors had due to not being as innovative and being just a touch too repetative,

Arkham Asylum paved the way for the Arkham series and blew away everyone's expectations for a Batman game. Arkham City was hyped to all hell and still managed to be better than the hype surrounding it with its amazing boss fights and unique locations.

Arkham Knight is truly a great experience. Using the batmobile for a while is great. The unique aspects of the story really challenge you to become Batman and be a hero. From start to finish, the game is fun and addictive and being in the shoes of Batman is never disappointing. A lot of the side missions are amazing and range from brawling encounters to detective scenarios to the occasional romps in the Batmobile. If it weren't for how great its predecessors were, this game would be one of the top Action games of all time.

However, Arkham Knight has to follow in the footsteps of the great Arkham City and it makes it hard to love by comparison. Arkham City had some of the most unique boss battles in the last decade of gaming all together - in particular, the evolving tactics of Mr. Freeze and the trippy scenes with Ra's Al Ghul.

There are nearly zero memorable boss encounters in Arkham Knight. The onlys ones that really feel like they challenge you are in the Batmobile. One Batmobile boss would be fine and would make the game feel complete and refreshing, but nearly all of the memorable encounters are in the Batmobile. Then, when you are challenged by Deathstroke 3/4 through the game, you think FINALLY, a boss worth battling! But this is just another Batmobile fight. Disssssapppppointing.

However, the sour taste left by the less innovative parts are more than made up for by the improved battling and Riddler trophies. Of course, if you're looking for a game to complete, this is NOT the game as there are simply too many things to do. If you have more than 150 hours to give to completing this game, then by all means, enjoy all the extras. I'll enjoy the story (including all of the Riddler trophies) without the added fat.

Overall though, this game is an amazing experience and I highly enjoy it and reccomend it. And it will still be a great experience in the coming years!

I can’t say that I was a huge fan of the series going into this game because I played Arkham Asylum and City for the first time last year and I thought they were pretty average games. At the time, they probably were mind-blowing games but in the year 2016, there really isn’t anything special about those games. The games are just a little outdated.

Anyways, regarding this particular game. My expectations were mixed going into this game. I hoped it would be a good game but I certainly didn’t expect it to be anything great. There are moments and things about this game that I really liked but then there are things about this game that I just can’t get behind.

The game starts out with Scarecrow warning Gotham by making an announcement that he’s going to bomb the city with his toxin. This allowed a vast majority of the Gotham citizens to leave and that was left were the Police, the Criminals and of course Batman. I do want to note that if you’re worried about that being a spoiler, you don’t have to worry about that, that all happens within the first 10 minutes of the game.

Now that I’ve set the game up, I think now is a good time to start looking into the nitty-gritty of this game. Where does it really miss? It’s certainly something that has been talked about a lot but it needs to be brought up again and that’s the Tank battles. They’re not good and they’re not a lot of fun. The worst part is, there seems to be a lot of them. Not to mention, I don’t really know what that has to do with Batman when I hear Batman, I certainly don’t think tank battle. It just feels like Rocksteady wanted to make a new I.P. (Intellectual Property) but they were forced to make a third installment so they threw something new into the game that just doesn’t fit.

Then there is the severe lack of boss battles. There are technically a couple of tank boss battles but once again, what does that have to do with Batman? Origins is considered the worst by most people but you have give them credit for the boss battles. In Arkham Knight, I can think of one boss fight and it’s against the Arkham Knight where you have to stealthily walk up to him a few times.

The games’ story is alright, its nothing special and they don’t really try anything new or different from the comic books. I would say for a video game story it’s good but for a Batman story, its pretty stereotypical. Batman villain does some crazy **** and Batman must stop them. As a side note, I was very excited when Nightwing showed up and you actually get to control him.

I was hoping the Joker wouldn’t be in this game at all because it just seems like every adaptation of Batman has to have the Joker in it. Spoiler alert but Joker died in the previous game so my assumption was, his reign was over. As it turns out, he is dead but he’s still living in Bruce Wayne’s head. It may sound stupid it works, as you’re progressing through the game, he’s making all of these quips and sometimes he’s insulting you.

The best part of the Arkham franchise is the combat. The combat carries this series and it and it somehow feels better in this game. Since this game came out 4 years after Arkham City, this gave Rocksteady time to go through and polish the gameplay a little more and make the combat a little better. The most satisfying feeling is when you get those long 20-30 hit combos going. You just feel like a bad-ass superhero which is exactly how you want to feel when playing a Batman game.

In most games, my least favorite part of the game is the stealth level (sometimes its the water level but that’s not in this game). In this game, I really love the stealth and will usually opt to use stealthy measures to take on the bad guys. Most games, the stealth is hide behind this rock and peak your head out. In Arkham Knight, you can keep moving above the rafters, take people out from above or there are floor grates that you sneak around from below. With this mixture, you can keep changing up your strategy so you can be unpredictable to the AI and to make it a better gaming experience, it’s nice to be able to do something different.

To wrap things up, I would say this a good game but its a good game with missed potential. There are parts that I love (the combat and stealth) and there are massive disappointments (the tank battles). Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate the Batmobile. I enjoyed driving around the city in the vehicle itself and even some of the car chases were fun but when you’re stationary, shooting a cannon and taking out drones, it just doesn’t work.

This game is a triumph in many ways, and I almost gave it a 10.

The side missions are standout here, and I found myself pursuing them even more than the main story. The batmobile drives great, and those missions are fun, even if I could have used 10% less required driving missions. Combat, always my favorite part of these games, is better than ever, and opportunity to engage groups

Ok, first I will start out saying this is easily my favorite Arkham game, and is actually tied with Zelda Twilight Princess for my favorite game of all time. Don’t listen to the hate this game is extremely well made-it’s basically a Batman simulator. You can fly/drive around a huge Gotham City playground and pretty much do whatever you want. Let me start with the reason most people hate this game - overuse of the Batmobile and the tank battles. Yes there are a lot of them, but they are still pretty fun and engaging and require a lot of skill-I actually enjoyed them. Let me say that people who just like to play the required main story line and that’s it, yes they prob won’t like this game that much. However, Arkham Knight has TONS of awesome side missions that are incorporated well into the main storyline of stopping Scarecrow. It’s almost impossible to play through this game and NOT play the side missions, as they are blended in well with the main storyline. These side missions are not just repetitive fillers to make the game seem longer - they are very fun, challenging, and engaging, and actually have very minimal tank battles, and more on-foot combat.. Some of the great side missions involve stopping Two-Face from robbing banks, destroying Penguins weapons caches, taking down Killer Croc in a downed prison airship (DLC mission), ending Professor Pyg’s reign of serial killings, rescuing a crew of captured firefighters, and teaming up with Catwoman to actually engage in a Sweet boss battle with the Riddler. I like how each side mission focuses on taking down several of the series’ main super villians then hauling them off to GCPD. If you are a completionist type gamer, you will LOVE this gem of a game - the game actually rewards you for 100 percent completion by giving you the actual “good” real ending to the game. You WANT to do all the side missions to make sure Gotham is finally safe. Everything about this game is an improvement from the previous titles - combat, stealth takedowns, weapon upgrades, etc. Also, if you play this game the proper way with all the side missions and such, you will spend about 30 hours playing this game - that’s a lot of content for your buck. There is only one thing I wish they would have done differently, and that is having more on-foot boss battles and less tank boss battles. Also, they really should have had an actual end game boss fight, which they didn’t unfortunately. I have replayed this game many times and I enjoy it just as much the last time as I did the first. I might add that the Arkham episodes that are DLCs are worth getting - you get to play as Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, Catwoman, Red Hood, and even Harley in these short, but very cool episodes that take place before and after the events of the main game. One last thing - the plot of this game is the best yet in the Arkham franchise, as you not only save the city, but prevent Scarecrow’s fear toxin from hitting the entire eastern seaboard. I personally thought the plots of the previous 3 titles were nowhere near as good a plot as Knight. Don’t listen to the hate, this is a great game, very well-made and should be owned by any hardcore Batman fan like myself! Expand

Cons? Dark, Comic DC atmosphere was sometimes so dark it was becoming funny. When graphics improved, some things that has worked previously became grotesque and unnatural (f.ex. Batman punch sound effects). If you did'nt like Nigma's "Riddles" you are getting much more of them here. And most of them are not riddles anymore.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. People are incredibly unforgiving to this game. People wanted the Batmobile from the very beginning, and then Rocksteady gives us the Batmobile, everyone is disappointed. If I created a badass war machine I would want to show it off. The claim that it is "Un-Batman" to have a tank is total **** because Batman has a gadget for every situation, and if the city is overun by an army with tanks, you get yourself a goddamn tank!

The narrative is so brilliant, Scarecrows contant reminder's about fear can get a little annoying, but it was the same in Arkham City with "Protocol 10 will commence in x hours." Having the Joker be part of Batman, and his fear of him is so clever and brilliantly implemented, and linking the disease to a real life disease (Creutzfeldt-jakob disease) adds credince and believablility to the idea of the Joker disease.

The tank battles are too new to the series to be have so many of them, partly because the predator sections and hand to hand combat have been growing since the beginning of the series. So I can understand peoples aversion to having something pushed into the series so fast. But I still like it.

All in all get this game. It is a blast and is better than Arkham City in almost every way. Get in PS4 just in case. ;)

It's unfortunate that Batman: Arkham Knight, in spite of all the ideas of the guys from Rocksteady, was not the notorious batmobile at the sales stage, but the terrible optimization of the PC version of the game. Even the most powerful video cards were not able to maintain a stable 60 frames per second, well, we do not need to talk about the weaker hardware. It even went so far that the publisher was forced to suspend sales of the computer version a couple of days after their launch.

Now let's move on to the game itself
As before, we will have to beat criminals and "stealth" most of the game. Only now in Arkham Knight to all this added a Batmobile. And the developers did not lie when they said that they would pay him no less attention than the most famous detective. To begin with, perhaps, is worth it, that in itself this tank on wheels is very steep. Yes, the first appearance of this beast under the loud roar of the motor is almost the coolest scene in the game, which for a long time will sit in the memory of the players. And from the concept of "our batmobile will quickly ride and shoot a lot," the developers and did squeeze out a maximum that no one expected from them. On the road built and some puzzles, and excellent chases, and the battle with some bosses and even a few episodes of stealth, no matter how funny it sounded. Battles with drones are simple and straightforward - you just need to shy away from his projectiles along trajectories that are drawn in advance and shoot back. But the episodes are very small and so dynamic that they do not have time to annoy or annoy. Only a few times a game developers lose their sense of proportion and we are attacked by a sea of enemy equipment. But again, if you do not get distracted by boring side missions, then the batmobile in the game is just as much as it takes to enjoy it. But from the car, as from the means of transportation, the benefits are very doubtful, because it will fly much faster to the destination with the help of a cloak and a hook than to cut across the city street, scouring criminals. Therefore, those game moments, when we need to bring the detainee to the police station, seem to be just completely unnecessary. Of course, sometimes you just want to travel around the city, consider buildings, shops and cafes, ride through puddles and look at the splashes of water. But, dammit, I'll decide when to do this.
Small sandpit rooms can be traversed in several different ways, because it's not for nothing that Batman is hung with a lot of devices. The most interesting is to collect a bunch of enemies together, and then apply a new skill called Fear Takedown, during which Master Bruce, in a pathos slowdown, can knock out up to five opponents at a time. And you can also attack the villains with their own unmanned aircraft, hacking it at a distance, or spoil the pack of the medic so that when trying to cure his ally, he gets a charge of electricity. Yes, this stele can not be called super complicated, but it should not be underestimated, because the price of error is often very high. And the opponents are not idiots and immediately begin to react to your actions - to install mines and turrets, walk in pairs and look into the ventilation shafts. Such a variety of opportunities and types of enemies bribes, forcing to rejoice in every secret episode.
As a result. Of course, the game has drawbacks: the open world is filled with routine tasks, and the plot MAY seem to you a simple set of scenes, sometimes funny, and sometimes sad.
But if you look in general terms, then all these shortcomings fade in the background. You understand that this game drags you on and you are pleased to play it.
It is not known what the developers will do next, they will not be rocksteady, but so far they have managed to make one of the best games based on comics and the best game about Batman.
    I recommend to buy everything.

Cheap, that's the overall feel this game has left me, everything from the uninspired side quests, to the mediocre story, and lack of boss fights seems bad. Instead of delivering an experience that increased the stakes and expanded on the Arkham World, all we get is a mediocre mockery of Batman Arkham City, with repetitive gameplay, and quick answers to every story arc. I honestly don't understand why they bothered giving the arkham knight this name, it was evident from the get go who he was, it feels like a ridiculous PR move that makes absolutely no sense. But as a long time Batman fan, what crossed me the most where the side quests, each one lazier than the last one, awesome opportunities missed with villains like Man-Bat, Thomas Elliot, Deathstroke, Firefly, Pig, they all ended up feeling repetitive and well....cheap, instead of expanding the lore, and showcasing different characters through story telling Rocksteady decided to craft missions more interested in checking boxes in the "what arcs do we need to close" list in the most effortless way possible, a policy that bleed into every aspect of the game, including the DLC, where yet again, Rocksteady dropped the ball, with short useless bits of the same old same old, with no relevant narrative nor kick. Story wise, lame. I really hated how they made it so convenient that the whole city had to be evacuated, just to fit in their gaming development constraints. I mean come on! The Witcher 3, Fallout, Mad Max, AssCreed, had living worlds with NPCs moving about with daily routines. This world is just full of criminals running amok and supervillains leading them. Its lazy writing is what it is.

The ONLY batman game i really enjoyed was the very first one, Arkham Asylum cos that game was tight! Quality instead of quantity. Speaking of which, the true ending of this game is hidden behind The Riddler's endless tasks. Absolute wank.

In conclusion, play this ONLY IF you're a Batman fan..or if this ends up on PS+ one day.

Batman Arkham Knight its a wondderful game that one could really enjoy, you can be the Batman with many gadgets, many ways to punish your enemys and a really cool story that could finish the Trilogy of Arkham; above all improve the gameplay for Ps4 or Xbox One and give the Player a better perspective in the battle.

Batman: Arkham Knight is a passable finale in the best video game superhero franchise yet. In terms of story, while it does try to attain a darker tone than the rest of the Arkham series, in my opinion I don't think it went all out in doing so, so its story was never as engaging as the more insane but still more emotional and intriguing story from Arkham City. In terms of story, while it does try to attain a darker tone than the rest of the Arkham series, in my opinion I don't think it went all out in doing so, so its story was never as engaging as the more insane but still more emotional and intriguing story from Arkham City. Similarly, despite the skill tree seemingly implying a more in-depth and complicated combat system, the combat is still extremely simplistic, but it's still flashy enough to be engaging for a few hours. However the end of the game is hindered by the amount of health the enemies have, or by the sheer numbers of enemies in an area, which results in certain fights lasting too long for this very simple and easy combat system. This is not to say that I hate when games are easy, but for me, issues surface when lack of difficulty is caused by or amplified by shallow mechanics. For example, Horizon: Zero Dawn's dinosaur combat is pretty easy, but keeps itself fresh through consistent changes to the enemies throughout the fight, where Batman's combat drones on and on without ever feeling the need to change anything based on environment, enemy health, or enemy numbers. The detective segments are hit-or-miss as well. These rarely work, so they often feel disjointed because they go on for longer than they should, and are very restrictive because there's no room for the player to come to conclusions on their own. In one segment, Batman has to determine where a car which holds his friend is going, so the process is to click on the square with the guy holding his friend, and then click on the car he went to. This is just way too simple to be entertaining. On the other hand, the stealth segments are very well crafted. In this aspect I think this game really benefits from having an open world. Due to the fact that every area is an actual place in the world it allows these segments to feel really interconnected with the rest of the game, instead of just separate challenges. Furthermore, due to the fact that there is more variation in terms of architectural structure than nearly every other open-world game with a city as its backdrop, there is real variation in the layout of most segments, which I thought was amazing considering how many games set in a city play the same no matter where mission takes place. Watch Dogs 2 is a great example of this. Also the side quests are all pretty great and entertaining even without extensive rewards. Despite its numerous improvements, however, there are still many areas in which this game fails as an open-world game. The Batmobile combat is as simplistic as the hand-to-hand combat, but lacks the aspects which made the hand-to-hand combat effective. It's repetitive and is used extremely often, which makes entire segments stale and boring. Besides that, multiple main story missions have these really annoying moments where all you do is follow these trails laid out by the game. These are never as satisfying as finding out which way to go on your own. Even in small amounts the Riddler Trophies don't offer the convenience that Breath of the Wild's Korok seeds do. No doubt, Breath of the Wild's Korok seeds are too abundant to actually be called anything but a nuisance if trying to collect all of them, but they're forgivable because in small doses these mini-challenges offer a short diversion from whatever it is the player is doing. They make the world constantly engaging, and reward exploration in all areas of the map because they're so abundant. What separates them from the trophies, however, is how they offer periodic rewards. There is no reason to collect all 900, because with 100, your inventory is large enough to make it through the game with minimal issues. The Riddler Trophies do not encourage exploration because they're all marked on the map, and do not function as short diversions because in order for them to be worth anything, all 400 need to be collected. This is so tedious that the reward, which is an underwhelming boss, is by no means worth the effort. Despite in my opinion having numerous flaws which considerably worsened my experience, there were enough moments which were entertaining or creative that the result is a game that gets a pass, but not much more. So Batman: Arkham City gets a 5 out of 10. I'm still looking forward to Insomniac's Spider-Man PS4, even if Rocksteady demonstrated here the shortcomings it may have. Expand

After about 30 hours of gameplay i encountered a game breaking bug. At Panessa Studios when i am trying to apprehend Albert King, and i open the door that leads to King, then i get back to the room where i was before. So i open the door at room A to get in room B, but instead i return back to room A. I can't open the door again, can't return ti the surface, total lockup. Tried many things, for hours actually, but nothing. I am tapped. Robin is nowhere to be seen.
I liked this game so far, but a game breaking bug is a deal breaker!
THERE ARE NO WORDS HOW FURIOUS I AM RIGHT NOW!!! A FREAKING GAME BREAKING BUG AFTER 2 YEARS OF THE RELEASE?!? Come on guys, you should fire your QA team at once!
I invested so many hours in this game, i simply not going to start again, just to run into an another game breaking bug, or the same one. It's a shame. And terrible job also.

In my opinion, it was the best game of the Arkham series. I really enjoy being the Bat, and also having the opportunity to play as one of his sidekicks. I was not pleased by its ending, though, which lacked more attention and improvement. But it's something that should not cause someone not to play this masterpiece.

It has amazing gameplay and visuals and is a near perfect conclusion to the arkham trilogy (I'm talking about the main 3 origins is a prequel). Only problems were the weak 3rd act and repetitive tank battles. Also of note, this game has some of the best voice acting in a game

Batman Arkham Knight was a game I desperately wanted to play when it first released but unfortunately I never got around to it. Mostly due to the story being spoiled for me a few months after release. Anyway, enough of that. Batman Arkham Knight is a whole lot like Arkham City. Like Arkham City, Batman Arkham Knight is an open world but this time you are actually defending Gotham City from Scarecrow and his sidekick The Arham Knight. Long story short Batman AK is a fantastic game that strives really hard to be as good, if not better than Arkham City. Though a fantastic game, in my opinion it doesn't quite reach Arkham City. I think my main problem is the batmobile. The batmobile is now apart of your Batman as much as his cape. It's being used almost constantly and though I understand that Rocksteady needed a solution to having a huge open world game and no fast travel. That is where the Batmobile comes in, and unfortunately over stays it's welcome. Don't get me wrong. The Batmobile is a necessity when you are fighting a huge private army, who happen to own thousands of tank drones. The problem is that the momentum of the game comes to a screeching halt when you get somewhere infested with these tank drones. It then just turns into a continuous bore of strafe, fire, strafe, fire, strafe, fire, strafe, fire. It just isn't fun. Fortunately though, the rest of the game is so good it completely over shadows these issues. The story is great, and I REALLY love what they do with the Joker now that he is dead. You will see what I mean if you play it. Batman Arkham Knight is a very good ending to this great series, and I can't wait to see what Rocksteady does next. Expand

The character, as usual in this series, are awesome and you care about all of them, Barbara and Jim Gordon have an impact as never before, wich i loved. All the 3 main villains work very well, the Scarecrow type o villain is just awesome, it have the felling of freddy krueger, voice and gesticulation , preetty cool, arkham knight have a great plot twist, and the other i'm not gonna comment, cause can be a spoiler.
The story line is almost so awesome as it was in Arkham City, an very emotional and inspiring game, with a bunch of ways to interpret a lot of moments, some parts you can feel the despair in the character in need to do something, but it just can't, you want to do something, but just can't as well, it would be a hell of a movie.
Combat and stealth still the exact same, still works for me, the side mission, not so good as it could be and as it was in origins and city.
Now, this game could be great, but is just to good, why ? one word, batmobile... i know, i know, a thing that we all were waiting in all other games, in the beginning is pretty cool, enjoyable and all of that, but it gets to repetitive, i mean, TOO REPETITIVE, it's so boring that you need to fight in the batmobile every damn time, even the bosses, you gotta fight then all in batmobile it's horrible, the only good thing about batmobile it's the locomotion, and should be the only thing that it can provide, but the fights happen every time and aways shooting at tha bright point in other tanks, need to do this hundreds of times, it take so patient to do that without turning the game off and do again later.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As someone who loved the Arkham series, felt Arkham City was the peak of this franchise (still do), I saw Arkham Knight with anticipation and curiosity. With this in mind:
Story: 6 (Okay, let's get this out of the way, be warned SPOILERS ahead. With the epic finale of Joker's death in the last game, how does Rocksteady top off such a GRAND finale? The point is, you don't. Arkham Knight whether by choice or by accident stays comfortably in mediocrity, while delivering a somewhat obvious yet underwhelming plot twist, an ambiguous ending and a return of the joker in a somewhat clever way. But not too clever, I was frustrated by the fact it didn't live up to my expectations, and even when I tried to replay it, I got bored because I anticipated nothing anymore. You don't end this series with a whimper, you end with a bang, and you certainly don't end by requiring the player to 100% it to unlock the FINAL ending. Yes, because that was clearly a tradition in the last 2 Arkham games, that's what I really want to do once I spent hours playing a game, find out you need to spend MORE hours finishing the job. You could have gave me a head's up, Rocksteady. However, I LOVED that one joker scene. You know the one.)
Graphics: 9 (This is a very beautiful game, the characters are well animated the visuals are stunning for all platforms, even that crappy PC port. There are beautiful details on the models that still impress me despite being a few years old at this point. When Arkham Knight was announced back then for what was considered, ''Next gen'', they said they would take full advantage of the hardware, they were right.)
Gameplay: 7 (The combat felt very fluid, and a lot of the sneaking mechanics felt refined from the previous titles. The car parts were a bit...basic. You have to spend hours tediously mastering the tank like movements of driving and fighting with the Batmobile-tank-thingy. Then, you must sit through hours of tedious boss battles that are very monotonous and lack creativity in the way you can tackle these obstacles. They are very easy to remember but poor in versatility. Though, it is a bit fun to drive through Gotham and smash people's cars. Also, screw that Jason Todd boss fight, such a predictable way to end the game's '''''''climax'''''''')
Sound: 8 (While the soundtrack is not as great as Arkham Origins or Arkham City, this game does boast a theatrical soundtrack that fits the atmosphere and tone. There's not much wrong with this, though unfortunately the frustrations of playing this game can distract you from appreciating it. It's well done, but not too catchy.)
Controls: 7 (I've already explained how much I despise the Batmobile sections of this game but otherwise when playing as Bruce, Dick, Harley, or Redhood. Everything else felt pretty fine to me.)
Content: 5 (Oh god. Let me get this straight, while Arkham Origins was a bit small on the side quests, they were creative, especially the Mad Hatter one. Arkham City had an abundance of sidequests that were interesting to mediocre, but not lacking. Arkham Knight DEPRIVES YOU of many classic Villains from appearing in the game, so that you can spend 30 dollars on a season pass for the developers to finish their game. For a game that lacks all of the very interesting and fun DLC, this is inexcusable and sloppy. If the game had all the DLC programmed into the game from launch, I'm sure I would enjoy the game a lot more. This was just sad.)

7/10 but this game feels more like a 6/10 for me, simply because of the lack of content they launched this game into. You rushed things, Rocksteady and this was the price you paid.

Visually, the digital character models are some of the most detailed and life like ones I've seen in a game so far! With Uncharted 4's being on par with it! Gotham does seem smaller with the attention to using the car A LOT, but you only forced to be in the vehicle during certain sections, so you can go on foot at any time.

One of my favorite things that I loved was the integration of the GCPD Lock-up and how you progressed through the game AND the DLC! Speaking of the villians; ALMOST everyone is featured this time around and are respectfully showcased, save for the few that were either killed off following the previous games. (But that doesn't guarantee that they WON'T come back in the game!)

Fair warning for those that DO get the Season Pass, AVOID playing the side stories UNTIL you've beaten the game. Some of them contain MAJOR spoilers on the main story!

The game and it's DLC are totally worth it!!!

And to my surprise...I was totally right, while it wasn't the worst game of 2015, it just didn't met my expectations....

Okay so the story is actually interesting with scarecrow taking over Gotham and a "new" character called the arkham knight wants revenge on batman for something he did to him.
Now, this is the most psychological story of Batman out of the two games I've played and I will give it points for that, my problem with this story is that even if the scarecrow story was decent, the arkham knight story was bad, like really bad, I won't spoil it but there is a reason why I said a "new" character, when you know who he is I was really disappointed by saying "really, this again?" and the conclusion with this character was really underwhelming.
And it's sad because the scarecrow story was really good with a incredible ending and "final boss", I just wish we had more stuff like this in the game.

The melee combat was perfected and the graphics are really good.... HOWEVER there is one big problem with this game, it's the batmobile, well I take it back the driving was actually satisfying, what I don't like it's in combat mode, it's slow, boring and sluggish.
Now a lot of people asked for the batmobile, I didn't want the batmobile because I knew I would end up with something like this, it wouldn't bother me if it was optional or at the very least not using it that much... BUT YOU HAVE TO USE THIS STUPID THING FOR 70 PERCENT OF THE GAME !!

In the end, it didn't met my expectations, the graphics were fantastic, the melee combat was satisfying, the scarecrow story was interesting and the game does redeem itself a bit at the end of it.
    But the arkham knight (who is in the title of the game) was bad and the choice of the batmobile being in the majority of the game was a really bad one;
If you are the biggest fan of batman, you will enjoy this, but for me, I didn't have fun playing it....

Game play and mission types are diversified from previous entries in the franchise, adding more to the "beat thugs->interrogate-> track boss" equation of the series. However, the removal of the epic boss battles from the previous games left me gravely disappointed, and is one of the main reasons of this not getting 10. The boss battles were always looked forward to by me, they always left me thinking "holy sh*the that was awesome! I wonder how he's going to take down the next big Boss!" but alas, they were removed from the game, making the interactions with the villains more brief. The wide array of side missions merely beefed up an amazing game, adding even more amazing to an amazing package of amazingness. Alas, such a marvelous game is not without its downfalls, with Arkham Knights being the infamous Batmobile. The forced tank missions and grotesque Batmobile platforming sections made me sigh and groan into my dualshock, however i managed to power through it by keeping in mind that once i complete this, i can go back to a truly fantastic game. Now that's not to say i bemoan the addition of the Batmobile, i thoroughly enjoyed hauling and burning rubber along the streets of Gotham in a bad*ss tank of pure awesomeness. However, if Rocksteady had not made it required for such dreadful missions and merely let you use it for driving around, i whole heartedly believe the Batmobile would have been better received. Batman: Arkham Knight is a must for any fan of comics and or video games. It'll scratch the itch that was left to be desired after Arkham Origins, and does the franchise justice in ending it. Truly a must have on any gamers shelf. Expand

Fun, surprising, sometimes even scary, this was my favourite game of 2015. It made me feel like a badass during the whole game, once you get the hang of the controls, you'll have a fantastic experience. Excellent voice acting and great variety of skins, which kept me entertained even after I finished the game. A 10/10 for sure

Batman: Arkham Knight presents a technically proficient and overall satisfying ending to the Arkham series, but suffers from overuse of the novelty item Batmobile and extremely repetitive tank battles. [Aug 2015]

Batman: Arkham Knight is the best looking game in the series so far, and includes a lot of cool stuff for fans of Batman. But at the same time it’s starting to feel like Rocksteady is almost too comfortable. It lacks new content, except the pretty bad designed Batmobile parts. If you haven’t played the previous games that much you will probably think that this is one of the best games this year.

A million different elements blended seamlessly into one brilliantly cohesive experience. [Summer 2015, p.64]
