"Classic Ubisoft"?, are you delusional? Just cause this game wont run perfectly on your 2013 console doesn't mean it's bad or something. People are enjoying it on PS5 and PC more than any other AC game in long time. You should give you reviewing because that's just pathetic. AC Valhalla is amazing open world game, specially after today's 1.0.4 update and of the best games

AC Valhalla is amazing open world game, specially after today's 1.0.4 update and of the best games of 2020. Only reason ps4 version has low user score is because some angry asian made over 20 fake accounts and gave it o's. Looks at all other user scores for AC Valhalla (PC, PS5 and so on, everything is over 7.6). Youtube videos posting about Valhalla get every day 100 000s of views, this game sold over 2million copies and was biggest launch in Assassin's Creed history. You can make up your "classic ubisoft" lies all day long, but this game already won. Deal with it. Reality is that you are not actual Assassin's Creed fan, but you are trying to find ways to whine about it anyway to promote some trash games that you like. Weak attempt at that.

All major issues were fixed in today's patch, whoever still gives it anything below 7/10 is not actual Assassin's Creed fan and your opinion doesn't count. It's one of the better Assassin's Creed games ever and if you don't like it, go play your avengers. Keep your hands off this awesomeness, if you give it 0 or 1 out of 10, you clearly don't deserve to play games like this anyway.

I have to revire the game so low because it's obviously an awesome experience, well crafted if a little bloated... but that's meaningless if I can't actively save progress. Ubisoft's fix "in the coming weks" isn't heartening for a game I soent $120 on.

I enjoy the game, but it's clearly under-baked, riddled with too many bugs, and frequent crashes, I've had the game crash 3 times in one hour. The combat is different, not better than Origins or Odyssey, but they tried something different. The loot system is improved, making each piece of gear unique, instead of showering you with a multitude of useless loot. The game just lacks polish. If you compare it to Ghost of Tsushima, which is a similar type of game, is visually more impressive, it runs smoother, load times are significantly faster, than what AC Valhalla offers, load times are abysmal in Valhalla. The game doesn't have the quality a triple A game should have. I love Assassin's Creed games, and I've played all of them. This one had the potential to be good, but the lack of quality makes it a disappointment. Maybe six months from now the game will be polished and in a much better state. Not enough loot - I 100% disagree. There is plenty of axes, swords, shields, daggers, etc., and I think 5 or 6 separate types of armor to upgrade. It is not overwhelming, but still very customizable. Right now, I am dual wielding a spear and dagger, but you can dual wield two great swords, your more standard sword and shield, the flail is fun to play with, warhammers carry a different style, etc. Trust me, there is plenty of loot.

Combat - The combat in Odyssey and Origins made you a fighting god right from the start. Valhalla makes you earn it. A lot of the negative reviews say the combat is slow and clunky. At first, it kind of is. But you know what, it makes you feel like a viking! Storming villages and swinging a sword wildly seems realistic to me. As you progress, the combat becomes much more in depth and fluid, but the game makes you earn it. Sorry, but you will not be a combat god from the start, which I think is a good thing.

Lack of Stealth - I disagree. I've cleared out enemy encampments blowing my horn and having my whole crew rush in. I have also cleared out encampments without anyone noticing me. It takes patience, but definitely possible and anyone who disagrees probably isn't good enough at it.

Bugs - I am on patch 1.0.2 and the bugs are not nearly as bad as described in the reviews. All my saves have been fine and the game has crashed once in almost 40 hours of gameplay. There are some minor visual bugs I've noticed, but they have not been common at all for me and really haven't taken anything from the game for me.

All in all, this game is amazing. In both Origins and Odyssey, after about 20 hours, I felt like I was doing chores and got bored. I'm almost 40 hours in to this one and can't stop playing or thinking about it when I'm not playing. The map is much less congested, and the markers that are there lead you to meaningful, useful, and usually interesting things. The inventory and quest lists are no longer overwhelming and the way side quests are set-up make the story and play go way more smoothly.

    Best Assassin's game I've played.

Here's strong advice, play this with PS4Pro if possible. It's obvious that these new games wont run that well on 2013 consoles, that's just reality. Cyberpunk wont look that great either on base consoles and i can't believe they actually wanna bring Horizon 2 to base consoles. I mean it's nice to have these games, but don't give these games low score, just cause they wont run flawlessly. Here's strong advice, play this with PS4Pro if possible. Whoever dislikes this game is not real Assassin's Creed fan. It's a fact! This game has every element that makes AC game and it's a good one at that. Odyssey problem wasn't big map, Odyssey problem was too much pointless content and grinding, that's all gone in Valhalla. What's left is interesting and meaninful content and no grinding. Valhalla has two big maps and England has many cities where parkour is possible, very similar to Unity. Overall very good game. Unity was nice, but Black Flag did huge map even before Unity. Valhalla has best of both worlds. Even tho i really like Unity, it got bit boring after a while. This idea of going back in time to different eras got me into this series in first place. Everything else comes second to me, i could endlessly free roam for hours and just check every corner, parkour on stuff. Amazing. Valhalla is first good step into the future of Ubisoft, it's really well done game, but now things need to go even further. Really DEEPLY focus on writing, Valhalla is good, go even more deep! Invest more into your products, you have good directors, give them all the freedom the need! I know you can make good stuff, you have done it past, you can do it again, i really believe it.
I believe in you Ubisoft, because i have really liked some of your games (AC 4 Black Flag, AC Unity (after patches obviously), Far Cry 3 and even some Ghost Recon Games, even Watch Dogs 1 was good, even tho it wasn't perfect. I would hate to see you go down like this. What you did in 2019 is unforgivable, but every company messes up at times, In fact all your games have better writing than Fallout 4 or Fallout 76, not that it's good comparison, but just saying. But you need to take Rockstar as your inspiration and i feel, in a way you already do. That's good! Just focus on quality, fix more bugs before release and just do good games. That's all it takes.

There are far fewer cookie-cutter outposts than in previous AC’s, and most sidequests now offer an interesting story, sometimes even with a less-than-obvious solution. While some anti-grind measures have backfired, Ubisoft is on the right track. [Issue#250, page 56]

Assassins Creed Valhalla is a wonderful addition to the AC franchise. It manages to avoid the tropes that became overplayed and focuses on a small well structured story. The fighting mechanics are enjoyable and offer many choices to fit different playing styles. There are a significant amount of bugs and the AI is underwhelming at times. But it's still another step in the right direction for Ubisoft.
