    Although there were great animation and ancient historical visuals, the story was extended for no reason to become exciting. Plus, the side missions are much much boring while the game forces you to finish them due to the awkward level system .Travelling could become a torture despite of great landscape on the road.

    A great game all the way to the end… the ending was so sudden and felt like they ran out of time. Other than that and the motion capture being a bit awkward in dialogue scenes, it was an otherwise great game

    The new RPG formula used by ubisoft proved to be functional and discreet, undoubtedly the game is not free from bugs and in general from a repetition of the secondary missions that do not always stand out for originality. The combat system is cool and manages to hit with some very welcome innovations.     Не понимаю почему все её так хейтят. Нужно оценивать её как отдельную игру. Сюжет не бонален, боёвка просто хорошая(есть интересная функция гравировка) тут можно и по суши бегать и на корабле плавать. Мифология Греции идеально показана. DLC чего только стоит.     Absolutely amazing!
    Graphics, gameplay, soundtrack, exploration, the world, the story! A world to explore outside and inside the sea! Everything is so full and densely packed! If some people find it a lot they have the option to do just exactly what they want and not complain about the size! There are people who want to invest much time in a game and not just 15 hours. Well worth the investment!

    I really like the new RPG path ubisoft is taking with AC. The world is astoundingly beautiful. You can really see they put a lot of effort in that. Combat is missing something. It tires to be a skill based dodge-parry combat system, but it ends up being repetitive. Conquest battles have absolutely no impact and are just a waste of time. Micro-transactions shouldn't even by in a single-player game, but you can skip them by doing side quests which can be fun and full of interesting stories. On the other hand some are very one dimensional. Another thing is that facial expressions have been the worst I have ever seen in an assassin's creed game. They are horrible and sometimes even funny.

    Kassandra/Alexios has such an interesting backstory. It starts extremely good and continues that way up until the end. Deimos just goes from good to bad just like that. They didn't even try to make him redeem himself. He just goes from a bloodthirsty demigod to a family oriented person out of nowhere. Choices they present to us are not working very well. They just mess up the main character. One time he is a mercenary, then he is a Spartan, then Athenian, one time he is a merciless killer and next time he cares about everyone. The main character just loses any identity it has. I also think they made a mistake having three different endings, because it feels very fragmented.

    Overall it is not a bad game. I really liked it, but it has way too many flaws. Also the game is very long, so I wouldn't recommend playing DLCs and main story in one go. I just got frustrated and tried to finish the game ASAP, because with DLCs it took me like 80 hours to finish.    … Expand

    This game is the best of the 3 modern AC games. The story is fantastic, the characters are interesting and have actual motivation unlike the awful Origins, combat is great, it's an all around great game. Unless you liked Origins you will love this game.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game in itsself is a bit weird with pretty bad dialogue, but I find it very fun to play. I very much appreciate the time period in which this took place and how they recreated all of Greece but the history sounds like it wad pulled straight from 300, for example: Ubisoft created a just plain evil cult that murdered Perikles for seemingly no reason. I do wish that thry had done more with the mythd apart from those 4 encounters with the minotaur and that stuff, but it's a fun game nonetheless.… Expand

    A much better game than Origins in every respect. While I found Origins boring and tedious, Odyssey has me hooked.

    The game world is huge and there is tons to do. The main quest is engaging, as are many of the side quests. The historic setting is interesting as well.

    I really enjoyed this game and it's hard to see how Ubisoft could have done anything better.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game itself is brilliant. The map is huge that you can play the game forever. I have been playing assassin's creed since assassin's creed 2 but have stopped midway through because of the modern day plot.

    Everyone will agree that the modern day plot was interesting probably up to when Desmonds dies. But after it, I just thought Ubisoft can just focus on the game itself and just give up on the modern day plot. Yes, it is cool to see scifi design and stuff but it just does not fit into the plot at all. It is annoying to follow and the modern day plot is meaningless and waste of time. In this game, whenever there are scenes with Layla, I tend to just skip all of them. Just scrap the modern day plot, it is really annoying and pointless in reading it. FOCUS ON THE CHARACTER not the MODERN DAY PLOT! GET RID OF IT!

    If I have to compare, I would prefer the ghost of Tsushima more because the story is focus on the character and it is more appealing without all those weird artefact and modern day story. If ghost of tsushima character is controlled by a dude in the modern day era, I am 100% sure the game would not be a hit.

    It's a shame that assassin's creed series could not make it to the game of the year, not even must play in metacritics just because of the modern day plot (in my opinion). Maybe Ubisoft should try and make an AC game without the modern day plot and see how gamers react to it.    … Expand

    The world is simply gorgeous in this game, the story and characters are also pretty solid (could be a legit sequel to the 300 films) but the gameplay could stand some improvement, even normal and weak enemies take like 5 minutes to kill, also I'm not a fan of naval warfare in AC games, it just feels clunky and not fun. besides all that, pretty solid game.

    How can a game like this not have a **** shield to block attacks but only a parry? A parry is supposed to be a move that you can do, not an entire "block" mechanic.

    Decent plot at the start and has promises of a beautiful open world but very soon the novelty wears off as you realise it's all copy and pasted to get you to waste your time and buy micro transactions. Classic Ubisoft.

    Amazing game. I recommend play at hard difficulty. In this game you should complete all side quests, because without it you cant get enough exp and resources (hello micro-transactions). So this micro-transactions are only for lazy players who want to just finish main story in fastest way. But this game is not about story, its about gameplay. Just try it.

    This is one of the best looking Assassins creed games it's take on ancient Greece is amazing however it's story and game play let's it down. The character that you choose it forgettable and has no development or personality at all. You are basically a God in this game but you still end up fighting mercenaries constantly.     Story quite good but the game is ruined by the bad implementation, lack of polish and the endless level grinding. If only the main story is more accessible, without the need of the side quests so you are not falling behind when it comes to the leveling, it would be much better in my opinion. Just not my cup of tea.

I loved Ubisoft with Prince Of Persia, old Assasin`s, old Far Cry - oohhh that was so good, that i want play more and more...Ohhh its sooo boring... no really, i forced myself to play this. Story is not that bad and idea, concept, but this lvl system - horrible, sidequest - horrible, map is too big, and im not telling that this is not Assassin game, its just "something" with that name...     A jogabilidade até que é legal tirando o excesso de pontos de interesse no mapa, entretanto o ponto ruim do game é a lacração feminista e a falta de bom senso histórico por parte da Ubisoft, a Kasandra usa a mesma roupa do Alexios, ela não possui o corpo feminino, e obviamente que historicamente falando não haveria uma Kasandra, haja visto que as únicas mulheres que gozavam de certaA jogabilidade até que é legal tirando o excesso de pontos de interesse no mapa, entretanto o ponto ruim do game é a lacração feminista e a falta de bom senso histórico por parte da Ubisoft, a Kasandra usa a mesma roupa do Alexios, ela não possui o corpo feminino, e obviamente que historicamente falando não haveria uma Kasandra, haja visto que as únicas mulheres que gozavam de certa liberdade eram as Spartanas, porém esta liberdade se resumia a ir a academia e frequentar certo eventos públicos, mas jamais serem guerreiras. Os mercenários que vão lhe caçar são em sua grande maioria mulheres que mais parecem o Ronnie Colleman, simplesmente ridículo, toda essa distorção histórica para agradar feminista e pregar essa politica imunda de esquerda. Vários gregos negros, de onde a Ubisoft tirou esta etnia, se falar que a cada 10 missões, 8 lhe forçam a ter algum relacionamento homoafetivo, saudade de jogos como o do Ezio Auditore.… Expand

    Последний раз играл в АC в Black Flag. После того забил на серию, но потом увидев очень хорошие отзывы в стиме на данную игру решился таки купить. В целом игра не плохая, но это уже не тот АС в котором я провел сотни часов. Играл за Кассандру, я хз мб это мое предвзятое отношение но этот голос -его просто невозможно было слушать... Остальные персонажи просто бездушные. Ни один персонаж вПоследний раз играл в АC в Black Flag. После того забил на серию, но потом увидев очень хорошие отзывы в стиме на данную игру решился таки купить. В целом игра не плохая, но это уже не тот АС в котором я провел сотни часов. Играл за Кассандру, я хз мб это мое предвзятое отношение но этот голос -его просто невозможно было слушать... Остальные персонажи просто бездушные. Ни один персонаж в этой игре не оставил о себе каких-то приятных(как герой) или негативных(как антигерой) воспоминаний. Потому что все персонажи - НИКАКИЕ. Мейн стори вроде интересна, но потом надоедает. Желания делать доп квесты нет, даже за ачивки. Боевка и так была простая в серии но теперь ее упростили просто до одного клика. Вкачиваешь скилл, прожал, ждешь кд, мансишь, жмешь кнопку и по новой. Вот и весь файт. И чем больше твой лвл тем легче отлетают враги и даже скалирование не помогает особо. Из плюсов это норм оптимизация и отсутствие багов. Купить конечно можете, блевать не будете от нее но и кайфа никакого не получите.… Expand

    The fighting mechanics and open world are fun, the animation and story presentation is terrible. I wish they paid more attention to the quality while making the game. I didn't like PS4 pro performance.

    An excellent game, good mechanics, excellent soundtrack, Kassandra's story is very good, interconnecting Origins and Valhalla, together with the present time, I could feel that something very interesting is coming in the future assassin's creed.

    Think of a game. Tons of ridiculous side quests are required to finish the main story. Despite everything, you play by raising the level. You play the game for about 50 hours, but what do you see? Ubisoft said "If you want to see the end, buy DLC. Otherwise, it's not game over."

    Such a long, endless and boring game. The combat is pretty mediocre and silly. Definitely worse than Origins by plenty. The best it has going for it are the visuals, aesthetic and ambience, which are great. I really wanted to like this game considering how much I love the series, history and Greek mythology, but the game simply is bloated as hell. Not a bad game, but not good.

    this game is decently fun but at around level 30 it hits you with a 10 level grind session before the next mission. it takes about 10 hours to level up once. not exaggerating.

    Game : 6
    Fun to Platinum : 5, took around 110 hours. Got distracted often.
    Difficulty to plat : 4 (If you count putting many hours into a game that isn't that fun difficult).

It's just random RPG that takes place in Greece, story is awful by the way. Level scaling is one the worst things ever invented in gaming, so yea. Valhalla is million times better game in every way possible.     If you loved the first 3 Assassins Creed games, you wont love like it as you liked the first parts. Since Origin the game is more focused on the roleplay than assassins story. i was very dissapointed as a fan of assassins. But! If you look at this game as a completly new titel. It aint that bad.

    70 hours into the game and I've got to say AC Odyssey surprised me positively! As an action-rpg game it does many things perfectly. Even though it takes a bit of grinding at some points and things could sort of get repetitive, I find myself enjoying all aspects of the game. The map is huge, so I suggest you move immediately if a certain place seems to bore you, you can always come back easily.

    Although it is not like the Assassin's Creed games we know, I think it is one of the best games in the series. AC: Odyssey offers the player great freedom with a great atmosphere, high graphics, a wide variety and a huge map. I loved this game because I was interesteding in history and ancient Greece.

    Only redeeming quality's are that it's sometimes funny and it's very big so if you don't get into the horrendous combat you can get pretty immersed in the big lush open world which usually looks fine but compared to some other open world games it's really not that good but for ubisoft standards it's ok. People who say the game is an 8/10 are blind and like the taste of sand.

    The game is the better in the rpg trilogy. Combat is actually fun, skills are good. Stealth does not work, you can't play in stealth, AT ALL. You will try to stealth assassin some random enemy, just for it to stay alive because you dont have enough damage. This is ridiculous imo. The game also is super long, way more than it should be, this happens because every major quest has a gap of 4The game is the better in the rpg trilogy. Combat is actually fun, skills are good.     it could have been alright if not for the overly huge map and **** of the main story. Why go to ancient Greece if you could have chosen something more exciting in terms of AC lore, like Ancient Rome or medieval China? I liked their Socrates though. It is obvious they've done their homework here at least.

    Good spots:
    1. Open world video game.
    2. Weapons and costumes were interesting.
    So nothing else.

    Verdict:

    I love Kassandra and her journey. She's a funny, sarcastic woman and I love her accent. Xena was my childhood series and oh my god, Kassandra is just like her. I'm so happy Ubisoft decided to give me the option to choose a female character. I loved assassin's series since the first one. I always liked the protagonists, so morally complex, driven by vengeance, money, pain. I have so muchI love Kassandra and her journey. She's a funny, sarcastic woman and I love her accent. Xena was my childhood series and oh my god, Kassandra is just like her. I'm so happy Ubisoft decided to give me the option to choose a female character. I loved assassin's series since the first one. I always liked the protagonists, so morally complex, driven by vengeance, money, pain. I have so much fun in ancient Greece. It's a beautiful, enormous world they created and with so much detail it's insane. Looking at all the historical places in-game after visiting Greece years ago it's such a cool feeling. I felt like a kid again playing it, excited to see what the next island brings. I love the naval battles. AC IV was my favourite before Odyssey and being able to command a ship once again gives me butterflies. I truly felt a sense of progress while leveling up and focusing on my assassin damage. I struggled a lot on hard difficulty in the begging but later truly felt powerful. This game is blessings for a 30year old me after hard day at work. It relaxes me as much as sailing through the West Indies as captain Kenway. 10/10.… Expand

    I definitely recommend playing on normal or easy difficulty since the combat basically means that your enemies have much more hp and deal more dmg. For example if you play on hard and try to fight a mercenary with 2 lvls above you, you have to perma hit him for 15-20 minutes, while you die in 2 hits. That is so bad, because it happens even if you have full legendary items.
    Also to note that you can modify the settings so that your enemies scale with you.
    I also advice you play as Kassandra, she has better voice acting and story makes more sense.

    As other have said, it is a gigantic game and can become repetitive. Upgrading items is costly.
    They managed to make a vibrant Greece and a nice vibe, and the protagonist is awesome. I am at 80 hours and I don't think I will do the DLCs.    … Expand

    Say what you will. For me this game got me into RPGs, if it wasn’t for this game I would’ve never tried Dragon Age Inquisition. A game that further let me dive into the genre. I have to give credit where credit is due. I would’ve missed out on Mass Effect 1 and 2. And that’s not ok.

Aside from ship combat the game play overall is really good sadly the games writing can be pretty bad there's only like four or five well written plots in the whole game and one of them is the story with your dad "the wolf" but aside from that the writing is pretty bad from forcing you to have a kid with a character who i outright hated from the moment i saw him (DLC) to the stuff with your unlike able mother who only cares about herself and getting her home back (so glad she dies at the end) the writing overall is bad, what little good writing there is in the game is nowhere to be found in the main story… Expand

    Possibly one of my favourite games to date. This game has some of the best fighting mechanics for an open world game that I've seen.     It is definitely not a bad game, but falls short compared to other RPG games. Although I understand the decision by Ubisoft to change the formula of the Assassins Creed games, I don't particularly like it.

    The world is beautiful and the graphics amazing, but apart from that everything else is mediocre, the story doesn't captivate me in the same way previous Assassins Creed games have,    It is definitely not a bad game, but falls short compared to other RPG games. Although I understand the decision by Ubisoft to change the formula of the Assassins Creed games, I don't particularly like it.

    The world is beautiful and the graphics amazing, but apart from that everything else is mediocre, the story doesn't captivate me in the same way previous Assassins Creed games have, the fact that the protagonist now has god like abilities and can pretty much end an entire army by himself takes me out of the whole experience and defeats the purpose of being an assassin. The secondary missions were repetitive and frankly quite boring. The modern day storyline only serves to interrupt the game play, which already leaves much to be desired. The parkour is basic and the way in which you upgrade weapons and gear even more so.

    I cared more for these characters and the world than I ever did in previous Assassin’s Creed games, and I think that’s part of why this reboot is so successful. Playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey left me feeling valiant and triumphant as I worked my way up the cultist food chain, and and I was always excited to see what Kassandra was off to discover next.

    If someone had told me couple of years ago that Assassin’s Creed would become a full-fledged action RPG that would not look out of place on a shelf next to The Witcher 3, I would have snickered.
