    Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a beautiful game. I've just started playing and the game's atmosphere is beyond belief. Being able to choose a character and how you want to play is nice. The best part is it is all changeable during the game.

    I've come to realize that AC fans just don't know what they want and ruin the series with reviews that don't make any sense or accurately depict what is going on. They ruined the series once after unity by complaining about a small portion of graphical errors that easily got patched. Ubi comes out with a fresh take for a stagnating series and adds some open world RPG elements that were not perfect in origins but I step in the right direction for the future of the game. Biggest issue there was story. Now, Ubi implements some Witched esque elements (which makes sense for a now open world series w RPG elements as the Witcher is a prime example for this genre) and fans lose their minds over aspects of the game like 'grinding" or "not really AC". Well, if the fans would have supported Ubi instead of lost their minds over small issues earlier in the series Ubi would not have had to experience a crisis of identity or format and arrive at this game. This is far from the original gameplay and story that made AC famous but that does not make it a bad game. It plays great, its vast, the story isn't bad (though the voice acting budget might need some love), and its a step in the right direction. Don't let the hate keep you from enjoying an intensive and well developed game that isn't perfect. 9/10 for me. Room to improve.… Expand

    Odyssey is now my favourite Assassin's Creed game even without assassins. Origins was great and this is a successor! The RPG style is amazing!
    I am a great fan of RPG genre and this game has it all. Great open world, naval combats, upgrading system, possibilities and story so far.
    Actually I don't miss assassins as long as I have nice historical settings and the First civilization    Odyssey is now my favourite Assassin's Creed game even without assassins. Origins was great and this is a successor! The RPG style is amazing!

    It's hard to believe the devs didn't see how grindy the game is. It's one of the most grindy experiences I have ever played. And it's a shame because the world and the technical aspect are all triple A stuff.

    Enemies are tanky. Why does a boar mini boss need over 100 hits to drop? Why does a captain need over 25 hits? The leveling system ruins the game.     First of all - ignore all the reviews that use the microtransactions as a reason for a bad score, because none of them are essential. Yes, you get through the game a bit quicker if you pay money, however the "normal" progression through the game is in now way impacted by it. And why anyone would want to hasten through a game like this is a mystery to me.

    The game is easily on the level of The Witcher 3 or Skyrim in size and complexity. The voice acting (if you choose Kassandra) is one of the best performances ever and the writing, both in the main quest and the side quests is brilliant.

    Is it still Assassin's Creed? I'm not sure. But it is my game of the year and yes, I have played and finished both God of War and Red Dead Redemption 2.    … Expand

    I have never made a review for a game in my entire life. This issue just bugged me for some reason. Enough to make an account and post a review. I hate bad customer support, and I hate a company so big that they don't actually care about the individual person using their service. So they lost whatever money they got from me over roughly $2.50 in imaginary currency.

    This is the first Assassin's Creed game I have bought in a long time. I found the other ones repetitive and eventually boring. Decided to give Odyssey a chance. Game play was good, graphics were good and the story was good. None of that was a problem. However on principle alone I returned the game. Upon completion of Chapter 2, you are supposed to receive 200 free Helix credits. This is actually a very, very, very, very small amount. Its literally worthless in their store. I don't particularly care about the credits. I couldn't have done anything with them anyways, which is fine. It's free and its value is inconsequential. What I have a problem with, is that I never received the credits. No big deal, I figure just contact support and I'll get the credits back. I figure, surely they aren't going to care about $2.50 of imaginary currency, for imaginary products in an imaginary world. Nope, they sure as heck do. They care so much that even when I told them I would return the game if I wasn't given the same product as other customers that paid the same amount, they still said THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. Like the helix credits are locked in some freaking safe, with a key that someone threw away upon completion of construction of said safe. That is insane to me, that a company that received probably at least $30 in PURE PROFIT from me, is willing to lose that business for $2.50 of imaginary currency. I will never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever buy another ubisoft product again.     The combat is really **** More fiction than i expected so it's a fantastic game, not an history game or similar.
    People like Origins so Ubi gonna explode this formula to sell... How many games? Probably 2 or 3 more, all the games they can before the fans pissed off

    I see a lot of haters on here pretty much complaining that the game isn't AC3 set in ancient Greece. I think of each of these games as independent releases and unique games. Even the difference between AC: Origins and this game is hundreds of years so it's to be expected that the combat style reflects the early development of the techniques and combat. I would say if you can separate the games into individual releases and take a second to think of the reverse progression/development of the assassins as you go through time which is the developers intent then you will enjoy the game. Solid 70+ hours of game play, lots of free downloads from the ubi-store, and a massive world which is very well polished. I have only experienced one crash and considering the entire country of Greece and it's isles are included in the game that's f-ing impressive. Well done Ubisoft.… Expand

I love the look of the game, and found Origins a lot of fun.     Crashes immediately within the first 5 seconds everytime. Lots of people having the same problem. Ubisoft support is useless. Spent hours trying generic fixes none of which had a hope of working.

    I'm too early in the game to write a review, however, I just want to give everyone a heads up - in case you haven't heard - that Odyssey is pretty much a different genre of game compared to all previous games. And so if you're not a fan of RPG's or RPG-like games, I wouldn't recommend this to you.

    I've played up to level 3. It's almost exactly like Origins so far. Same houses, landscapes. Same type of missions. Same fighting style. Same leveling system. Haven't gotten to ships yet- hoping that's something different. So far, not impressed. Will update as I get further into the game. Not really an RPG.

    * The story and setting is great, felt a bit dull in origins, but Odyssey sets new standard.
    * All the good stuff from previous release + more, especially in fight mechanics and f-ckin sailing - this makes it way more fun than previous releases. * The game is massive, I'm like 20h+ in the story and there's way more... my    AC franchise at it's best, and I mean "Brotherhood" like best.

    I've played spider man, and shadow of tomb raider recently - those look poor in the comparison, especially content wise. I wouldn't believe any of those 0 o 1 scores as it's just trolls trying to push their own agenda - the fun the game gives is definitely worth the price. For me the only reason It's not 10 out of 10 is that it's not as immersive as The Witcher III, but I could easily put it next to God of War for example.    … Expand

    Best Assassin's Creed since Black Flag. This is an open world RPG chock full of content. Great visuals and audio, combat is exciting and varied, the story is compelling. Micro-transactions are a non factor and would only been needed if you were speed running the game.

This is the only time period they've done that had me excited to roam around. This isn't a perfect game, but it is one of the better in the series.

    The story is one of revenge or redemption. You play as either Alexios or    Assassin's Creed is back but this time in the period of heroes and legends. Ubisoft decided to go to Ancient Greece with this installment. I couldn't be happier. This is the only time period they've done that had me excited to roam around. This isn't a perfect game, but it is one of the better in the series.

    The story is one of revenge or redemption. You play as either Alexios or Kassandra and you are a mercenary. This game takes place during the Peloponnesian War when Athens and Sparta are at each others throat. While that is the setting in the story you aren't an Assassin nor become one. The villains aren't the Templars they are the Cult of Kosmos which are basically the Templars. This game feels more like an Assassin's Creed knock off than a new entry. That all being said I felt like the characters where so much more engaging than in the previous few games. I liked the protagonist, and loved main antagonist. I won't say who they are, but the main antagonist hasn't really ever been this good. I liked the story a lot and the ending was satisfying while definitely leaving room for DLC.

    The games world feels alive... most of the time. Battles happen, and animals will attack NPCs without you being there, but they lose me with character models. I saw the same NPCs all over it could have use a bit of variety.

    The game does play a lot like last years Assassin's Creed Origins except more refined. All the pain in the ass things are gone like mandatory assassination kills or getting around is easier, and leveling up is more manageable. I enjoyed playing this game, but my one issue is that it is too long. Not everyone will see this others might want more. I just think putting 30+ hours into Assassin's Creed is a bit much. They force you to do side quest because it has the mission layout as Origins. That style of game is fine hell my favorite game The Witcher 3 has that. The difference is in the setting. I like ancient Greece, but it isn't a mystical land with monsters and creature littered throughout it. All you find is animals and people. ( You do fight mythical creatures late game and they are amazing fights, but that's at least 25 hours into it.) I just wish I could blow through the story without needing to screw around grinding because I did enjoy the hell out of the story. Regardless combat is fun and the abilities make you feel like the great Achilles. This game also doubles down on play how you want. I skip an entire rebellion quest because I went in and just killed the guy they were after.

    Overall the game is a fun game and if you want to spend three months with a single game Assassin's Creed has you covered. It maybe too long for my taste but I still had a great time playing it. The ability to play how you want is more emphasized is this one you can take people out in anyway you chose. The choice in the story felt like my decisions had consequences, but I am not entirely sure if they did or not. If you like the series this is a must I give it a BUY.    … Expand

Some player might find the giant open world is a not so fitting setting to set an Assassin’s Creed story since it can make the player to be seperated from the story from the sheer ammount of time that the world exploration will take to do. The RPG element is good since it is develop together with AC: Origins. The multiple ending is also a good addition because it make the choice that the player have to be more important than normal story branching element.

    The reason i did not give this game a full 10/10 is because althought the modern day story line is connected to the Assassin's Creed Lore the actual animus part of story element althought interesting it is not connected enough even if the is some connection to the Assassin's Creed Lore as a whole.

    Overall the experience of playing this new type of Assassin’s Creed is depend on each player but since i’m a fan of both exploration and Assassin’s Creed francise in general so i can make a good judgment that this game is very good for those who already love the Assassin’s Creed Francise and for those who love exploration and branching story element.

    Since this is not a true RPG some RPG player might not like it so much and for those who like linear story line more this game also might not be for you.    … Expand

    The game is amzing. There is so much to do you never get bored. Its like origins but on steroids. The music is great and the game is addicting. Probably gonna be my game of the year

Assassin's creed should always improve in stealth and parkour, always. But somehow it is reversed. We don't have a hidden Blade. We don't have social stealth, we Don't have Parkour and most important, No Assassins. I just disappointed that story in present days has been removed and we have only 5 minutes of gameplay in present. It's really bad. Desmond was very interesting guy.     I enjoyed playing Origins and I found Odyssey at the same pattern but a beat better in some little things such as the Menu and the Ability tree.
    Because I am from Greece I am disapointed because there aren't Greek Subtitles either Greek Language. Very big mistake, as a Greek Gamer I had this for sure but Ubisoft said no!!!

    While Odyssey definitely does some things wrong (microtransactions, a bit cluttered) it does a lot right. The game is flat out gorgeous and the open world is humongous. Also, the ship combat from Black Flag is a nice positive touch.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Quantity does not beat quality, and in modern gaming striking the balance with both is essential. In a nutshell that is why AC Odyssey isn't that great. It is all quantity and average quality. Okay, let's dig in.

    Where this game excels: combat design (not execution, IMPORTANT), music (when it doesn't cut out), environment, and minimal intrusion from the boring Animus subplot. I absolutely love Origins but the combat was the worst part of the game. Here they improved it and the "class" trees are great. I like the ship combat but it gets repetitive, but it doesn't bug me like it does most people. Customizing ships was cool.

    They did an amazing job with ancient Greece. The music is superb, but it cuts out suddenly a lot. Way to drop the ball there Ubisoft.

    Where AC Odyssey showed signs of promise but fell short a bit: decision-making. Some decisions have lasting consequences, even decisions I thought weren't a huge deal. Other times you still have that illusion of choice, and you hope something ends up mattering but it does not. I wish it were more obvious which decisions could impact the future and which decisions are just fluff. Games do this. It's important.

    Where the game failed: BUGS, facial animations, BUGS, voice acting, BUGS, storytelling, oh did I mention BUGS? The bugs in this game are a disgrace. Why was this rushed to market in a year when it clearly needed a few more months of polish? I would be almost through a massive fort and some graphical glitch freezes my screen and drops the framerate to literally 1-2 fps. Game crashes, progress lost. WOW, HOW FUN THANKS UBISOFT

    Sometimes headshots will not register at all. The arrow won't even hit the target, despite them standing completely still. Abilities use adrenaline but aren't even performed. There is lag in the parrying mechanic, which is just pure dog doodie all the way.

    Riding a horse is once again clunky and I find myself running a long distance just so I don't have to put up with it. Why can't games do horse-riding well? Cot dayum...even The Witcher 3 failed on this level.

    The autosave system is utter trash, completely useless. The only reliable autosave is after a sync point or finishing a quest. Anything else is random. It forces you to manually save all the time. What is the point? WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?

    The facial animations are cringe-worthy and lines are so overused. Every. last. one. All in a day's work! Repeat this with literally endless quests. How immersive. Alexios' voice actor does not deserve another job in the industry, that was just awful. Did he phone it in? Bayek was fantastic. What a decline in quality.

    The story was contrived and boring. Let's pick the chosen one trope but have you be the not-chosen who hunts down your chosen one sibling and cures their hubris with love! What a tear jerker...*faaaart* Miss me with this half-baked garbage Ubisoft, do better.

    It's fun to explore ancient Greece, and the world is massive. Sokrates is hilarious. Most of the philosophers actually were pretty cool, but that shouldn't be the high point of the game (and it was).    … Expand

    I finished the main quest in 45 hours. I have to say, this game is great but it's so damn repetetive. Also, the fact that you must reach a certain level to proced in the main quest is very boring and the main plot could have been more short for sure. Anyway, interesting story and good gameplay, it really entertained me for a long time|

After Origins, which was great, it takes the same formula but adds a lot of new content and activities (new investigating system, Cultist kills, conquest battles, a lot of mythology, dialogue options). The Greek setting is incredible:Ubisoft continues in its quest to trasform the typical Assassin's Creed in a blend with wath make The Witcher 3 the greatest Western RPG of all time. After Origins, which was great, it takes the same formula but adds a lot of new content and activities (new investigating system, Cultist kills, conquest battles, a lot of mythology, dialogue options). The Greek setting is incredible: recreating a compact version of the whole Greece with most of its islands with such accuracy and detail is a 10/10 job by itself. I think there is still place for a third game in this style (maybe by continuing the Classic trilogy by exploring ancient Rome and recreating all the Italian peninsula?), but after that they will seriously have to start looking for a new system and, most importantly, new settings.… Expand

    This game is my favourite PS4 game I have played to date. The combat is incredible. The story is really good. I love the theme and setting. I felt like I was in the movie 300 and Troy. I love upgrading and getting new armor. I love the skill tree. I love the sea battles. The game is one of the best looking games to date. The game is incredibly long. That's a good and a bad thing. I don't like how all these games are charging extra for DLC's these days.. And one last thing. The game did freeze three times in total on my PS4 Slim. I played the game over 100 hours so its not a big issue but it's something to mention. And all three times it started freezing when I was surrounded by a lot of enemies at a fort. I think the game was trying to keep track of too many enemies at once. Also the pointless micro transactions aren't needed at all in this game. You can earn all the best armor and weapons in game. That's a great thing actually. The bad thing is the XP Booster... If it wasn't for the freezing and XP Booster/pointless micro transactions I would give this game a 9.5/10 Also you can play on easy, medium and hard difficulty. I played on easy because the game is level gated. Playing on easy allows you to beat enemies a couple levels above you. On medium and hard you can't really. So in my opinion playing on easy can be easy but it can also be hard if you try to fight enemies a couple levels above you. I beat Medusa at level 46. It took me 45 minutes. So it just depends on how you want to play. I like that the game gives you this kind of flexibility. . 8/10… Expand

    This is a beautiful game. Worthy of the Assassins Creed franchise. But I have to ask... why can't I clear a location, despite killing everyone, and pillaging everything? Why cant I kill a level 13 pig, when I'm at level 16, with enhanced "legendary" gear? I ask... why put out a fabulous game, with such issues? This is an incredible game, with much-needed updates.

    Never cared for this franchise. Tried one and two years ago and rolled my eyes for every new installment. Had my eyes on this title and finally gave in and bought for 20 bucks. At lvl 10 and so far I'm not disappointed and liked all my quest. Sorry too say I like this more then horizon zero Dawn.

    Игра шедевр. В этом мире хочется жить. За одну воду и её реализацию игре можно ставить 10 баллов).
    Одна из лучших игр последних лет, и однозначно лучшая в серии, пусть это уже не Ассассин конечно, если брать сюжет. Must play.

    И призыв ко всем адекватнным людям. НЕ РЕАГИРУЙТЕ на обзоры, если там пишут про перечисленные ниже пункты и выставляют на основе них отрицательные рейтинги:
    1) оптимизацию и баги
    2)донат, цены, микротранзакции, гэймшоп и прочее.

    Story is really bad, non-existent, uninteresting, badly scripted. The whole drive of AC franchise has disappeared, mostly because of lack of Assassins and Templars. This game is called Assassins Creed but You, as player, do not belong to any fraction. You are just mercenary who in his attempt for vengeance is fighting randomly for Athens or Sparta with no core drives. Main quests and also side quests are very repetitive, offering no challenge or innovative approach. All actions are mostly limited to “go there, kill somebody, come back, but it is not enough, you need to return back where you came from and bring something else”.

    AC franchise was mostly interesting for its illuminati-like narrative, retelling history, legends and myths in its own and very original way through eyes of secret organizations operating behind main events in human history. But this aspect is hugely missing making entire story very boring and history turned upside down just to serve sick political and race correctness in slavery states in acient Greece.

    Except the story, the gameplay is literally disaster. It never happened to me on any console that any game was freezing or lagging as AC:Oddysey does. Graphics and animation compared to Horizon Zero Dawn from 2017 or God of War from early 2018 is on lowest level.

    Combat system based on levels is also very painful and poorly designed, making it nearly impossible to defeat character even 1 level above you (3 levels above are marked with red skull). This strips any challenge on any difficulty and chance to defeat your enemies just with your playing skills. You basically need to be correct level to proceed to locations or even main story, what brings me to next point.

    Hated microtransaction, yes, they are plenty and players are rightfully angry about it. Oddysey is not cheap game, not even in most basic edition without all DLCs and bonus content, and still Ubisoft is forcing players to spend another 20 EUR for some “Time savers” to get right amount of experience and game currency so you can continue in main story without running around and completing repetitive side quests.

    But worst of worst is loading time of game which is amazingly long. Especially in age of eliminating loading time to minimum, in this game you will get longest loading time between in-game cutscenes and gameplay I have ever seen. The worst it is when you wait several minutes to load cutscene which is couple seconds long and then you wait another minutes to get back to gameplay. Fast Travel option just lost all meaning when travelling by by foor is qicker than using fast travel option with insane loading time.

    All in all, I need to acknowledge size of this world and plenty of side quests and characters. I would say that main reason behind all microtransactions is that 60 USD is not real price of this game, rather 100 USD in basic edition, thanks to its enormity. However, poor combat system and terrible gameplay experience make it one of the worst games I ever bought.    … Expand

I'd argue this is Ubisoft's best game to date in that regard. The world is so incredibly beautiful and fluorescent.

    The game suffered its 2 points from..
    1) Losing its identity as an Assassin's Creed game. The story does not further the war between the Assassin's and the Templars, in fact, you don't even play as an Assassin, instead, you're a Spartan. Why could we not have both? This is a missed opportunity to create a super interesting character that has to deal with the responsibilities of both a Spartan at war, and an Assassin plotting to destroy the Templar Order.
    2) Unnecessary need to grind. Any game that requires you to grind and grind to further the main story is greatly at fault.

    All in all, a solid entry into the franchise. But could easily be argued as a Black Flag v2.0. I look forward to the next entry, hoping that Ubisoft improves on the game's shortcomings.    … Expand

    Amazing game, really, and don''t even listen people who say you need to buy bosst or anything with microtransaction, it's not true, if you explore a little, you will overlevel main quest really quick, i mean, i'm level max (50) and the main quest is 32, with levelscalling the quest is 48 for me, so the challenge is still here !

    Great job Ubisoft, another amazing game !

    Hmm i think that the ones publishing negative reviews are just people that got into the "eww a new AC" bandwagon. So they have no impact on the score in my opinion. Oh and don't cry about microtransactions. Every item from the store can be bought with in-game materials "orichalchum". It's like loot crates but here you get stuff from the actual store with a high percentage of success. AndHmm i think that the ones publishing negative reviews are just people that got into the "eww a new AC" bandwagon. So they have no impact on the score in my opinion. Oh and don't cry about microtransactions. Every item from the store can be bought with in-game materials "orichalchum". It's like loot crates but here you get stuff from the actual store with a high percentage of success. And please don't compare it to Origins. Only the UI is barely the same. I completed the game, got platinum on PS4, and took me like...2 weeks of 4 hours of playtime daily. I don't understand how people need to grind to go further in the game. I didn't grind anything, ok i got to all "points-of-interest" in the game. This way you can find new things, new items that you sold or break it into materials.
    These reviews with 0 or 1 saying only " ah microtransactions, the game sucks" have to be deleted. I guess lots of these people didn't even play the game.    … Expand

I understand why many say that this does not feel like an original AC game but i like that it doesn't. I have 20 hours in the game and i have only been in the first 3 areas. The game has easily over 100 play hours if one doesnt rush through the main quest line. The side quests like the Artemis gear quest are awesome and yes at times they do feel a little Witcher3/God of War but so what? I love those games and ACO combines all those awesome elements. As far as open world RPG i will give it a 9 because it borrows many (but only the best) elements from all the games we loved but as an AC game it is a pure 10. I think the game is excellent, the graphics are phenomal and gameplay is solid. It kind of reminds me of horizon: zero dawn, as I played an archer like character. Yes, it has micro transactions but given that they have zero impact on anything in the game I just ignore them and get on with enjoying the game itself. If your looking for a half decent RPG with plenty of fun distractions like trireme sailing and mass lion slaughter then you could do worse than having this in your Christmas list.… Expand

    This game is awesome I spent hours and hours and still I'm way back of finishing the game, I love the combat system, the world is super huge, literally huge, it is more difficult than all the previous series and I love the story line too. I have to say that this is better than Ac2 and Brotherhood.

    The gameplay, combat mechanics and graphics are awesome. That being said, I am not happy about the microtransactions. I feel like Ubisoft is forcing my hand when it comes to buying Helix credits to buy boosts and resources. I had to grind like crazy just to upgrade one weapon, it's insane. However, I am really hooked on this very good game and I am enjoying it a lot.

    Assassins Creed: Odyssey is however the turning point for myself, i think this game has done for this generation of consoles for what Assassins Creed II (or the entire Ezio Trilogy) did for the last generation of consoles, i would rate this title higher, but i think the original story outside of the animus needs revision, i don't think the animus is the first thing on the list anymore, its more of an afterthought, i don't want it to be a chore, i want it to be interesting again, but the rest of the game is absolutely superb

    If this is the foundations of the next line of Assassins Creed games going into the next generation of consoles, this is the best position to be in with the franchise, i am saying this for the first time in a while, i am definitely anticipating the next in the franchise    … Expand

I like the game, but I think that the stealth not being a part of ASSASSIN's Creed, you know a game about assassins who sneak up on their prey and kill them quietly is kinda sad, but I do like the theme of Ancient Greece, though I wish it didn't become more the Witcher 3 in terms of mythology and RPG like level system, before, you saw a tough enemy? Fine just come up with a tactic and attack him, now everything's about levels. The animations unfortunately like most games nowadays are pretty horrendous, but overall it's a good game but not really an Assassin's Creed game… Expand

    The movement, boats, horses, and even the World map and its icons looks and feels a lot like Witcher 3. which sadly Witcher 3 did successfully back in 2015. The only thing that Odyssey did better on that was having one BIG world map instead of separate loading zones and 2018 visuals to suit.

    The Shadow of War Parts.
    It has basically cloned the nemesis system from Shadow of War, without the actual nemesis. You have the strongholds, captains, recruits etc. Some of the character abilities, the teleport spear for example shows even more why its a clone.

    The Good
    it has chosen 2 very great games (especially Witcher) to clone, making it a perfect marriage of them. If you like them , you like this. Simple.

    The Neutral
    Don't expect an Assassins Creed game....The Stealth gameplay is watered down to favour the greater combat approach. Some may like this, may not, it adds more depth to the game overall. But don't expect to have that classic Stealth experience.

    its an RPG. something I personally liked, having more customisation and loot. But it feels shallow at times. Not as in depth as typical RPG'S on the loot front. I feel in the effort to become a fully fledged RPG and balanced the games, Ranged, Stealth and Combat play styles its become a sort of "Jack of all trades, master of none" game.

    The Bad
    its lost its uniqueness and originality of being an Assassins Creed game, It should of been it's own standalone Ubisoft IP.

    Overall 7/10
    As a video game its great, lots to see and do, and very pretty albeit a bit buggy in places (which could just be launch issues that will be fixed). But sadly it lacks what it was meant to be an assassins creed game.    … Expand

One of the best looking games I've ever played, a great main character (Kassandra) and a lot of flexibility with the traditional strength of the series putting this in an interesting historical context. Props to Ubisoft for toning down the modern day parts significantly.

First, now enemies attack you simultaniously. Second, we have "assasins", which try to kill you ( up to 5 simultaniously). Third, we have "area battle" now.

    3) People paid for some gold or like this package and don't like it. Well, it was described, what is inside. So just read and check before buy it.

    4) People compare this game with "old assasin". Well, I am not fan of old assasin. So if you're fan of them, and don't like Origin - don't try this too. But for me it was new game, and I like it.

    So, finally, it's good game. with interesting battle system, interesting plot. Of course, it's not excellent, don't expect brillian RPG, brilliant and completely new story. No, but it's good enough. So, finally, my mark is 8.5 (again, after 20 hours, on 20 level).    … Expand

А если не хочешь делать побочки, которые тут НЕВЕРОЯТНО плохие (пойди, убей, принеси и.т.д.), так есть раздел во внутриигровом магазине под названием "Экономия времени". Там есть не только бусты для прокачки но и ресурсы, которые надо гриндить. Это вопиющий момент и за это определенно дизлайк юбисофт ! Донат в одиночной игре лично я лет 5 даже представить не мог, а теперь нам подают это как нечто нормальное, я должен ЭКОНОМИТЬ ВРЕМЯ в игре за которую я отдал и так полный ценник и в которой я хочу получить удовольствие от игрового процесса. Если бы не данный факт и намеренно затянутая прокачка, расчитаная на донатный буст поставил бы игре 8-8.5.    … Expand

    6. El rendimiento del juego es malo. Sufre constantes congelaciones y tiene bugs muy cutres que denotan que el juego se ha hecho con prisa y con poco carino.

    Odyssey no es un juego que merezca la pena si eres un verdadero admirador de Assassin's Creed desde sus orígenes y te cautivó desde el principio por lo que era... en Odyssey no queda ya nada de eso.

    Es el último juego de la franquicia que compro hasta que hagan un Assassin's Creed de verdad.

    No other game besides maybe skyrim gave me this much gameplay time and still felt natural and not too repetitive. Im currently at 70 Hours game time and still not finished.
    I can really recommend this game to anybody interested in open world games and astonishing story and game play.

    The only downside i found in this game was extremely long travel times. As the Map is this huge, it kinda is tedious to travel to places that dont have a quicktravel option. And the other one is orichalcum being super rare and the mission kinda bad for it, and unlike Origins you cant use your endgame money you dont need anymore to buy the chests that give you purple or legendary items.    … Expand

    Haven't played an ASS Creed game in years, since Brotherhood to be exact, but I thought I would give this one a shot, was not disappointed, honest to goodness great game, story is good, combat and game play are amazing, using ships is exciting and super fun, weapons and armor are great and abundant, characters are good, and I had a great time from start to finish, my only flaw is that itHaven't played an ASS Creed game in years, since Brotherhood to be exact, but I thought I would give this one a shot, was not disappointed, honest to goodness great game, story is good, combat and game play are amazing, using ships is exciting and super fun, weapons and armor are great and abundant, characters are good, and I had a great time from start to finish, my only flaw is that it did start to get repetitive towards the end, and the DLC is outrages.… Expand

    I cared more for these characters and the world than I ever did in previous Assassin’s Creed games, and I think that’s part of why this reboot is so successful. Playing Assassin’s Creed Odyssey left me feeling valiant and triumphant as I worked my way up the cultist food chain, and and I was always excited to see what Kassandra was off to discover next.

    If someone had told me couple of years ago that Assassin’s Creed would become a full-fledged action RPG that would not look out of place on a shelf next to The Witcher 3, I would have snickered. But here I am, over 80 hours into Odyssey and still unable to believe that really happened. [12/2018, p.44]

    It also commits a few of the same sins: in particular, the deluge of gar drops feels vaguely insulting, conditioning the player to lust after items exclusive to the in-game store.
