    75% of the promised content is not delivered, the game runs worse than it's predecessor, the cutscenes they have shown prior to release are not in the game at all and the reforging both removed a bunch of features from the old client as well as KILL the old client entirely. Even if I get my game refunded, I can't play the orignal game I paid for.     Blizzard is dead. Has been a great run but at this point it is clear that their investors have claimed complete control (creative and not) and it shows. They have not kept any of their promises, it's very buggy and even lacks features that we used to have in the original game. Not only did they release this poor excuse for a game, they releases a huge patch for warcraft 3 which removes/brakes tons of features and gamemodes. Other maps and gamemodes were banned due to copyright issues, this should not be a problem to begin with since we are talking about user made content. It wouldn't surprise me to discover that this happened due to the stake holders having business with the copyright holders referenced in that content. I would give it a 2 but at this point I'll give it a 0 for their poor treatment of their customers. If you want to do a good thing for the games industry don't support such a company.    … Expand

    Nope. There is no option to rebind keys in the menu. You have to go into a text file in the game's folder and manually edit what keys you'd like to do. A game released in 2020 that is charging you $30 could not have added a simple keybind change option in the menus? A future game dev in their first year of schooling would be able to accomplish that feat.

    Blizzard is showing their true colors again here by putting in 0 effort to the content they produce and hoping everyone still plays along because of the nostalgia they have for this once great company. No one should be supporting this type of shoddy game development.    … Expand

    We were lied to. The trailer in the game's website has nothing to do with what you actually gets. It also removed several features the classic version had and did not include almost all of the features originally announced, some of which are still being advertised on its web page.

    i have owned warcraft 3 reign of chaos and the frozen throne for almost two decades and i cant play it with their features anymore and i have to put up with bugs they intruduced in reforged. I will not pay for reforged and i want to play wc3 the way it always has been. Pull it off from fron current Bnet. Bring it back to wgere it was.

    What a mess of a game, just to NAME A FEW: no competitive ladder, no proper multiplayer matchmaking, bugs, removal of features which were once in the original game, horrble UI full of bugs, no single player custom games, constant dropouts in multiplayer games, HD reskins don't match unit animation... etc etc and more!

    For the first time in my life, I am writing a review here for a game. Out of a sense of nostalgia yesterday I bought this "incredible" game. Incredibly reckless and buggy game. Blizzard is rapidly approaching Befesd’s company in failure. At the same time refuses to refund for this shame!

    I was so excited that they were going to remake a game I never got to play, and I passed up on an old copy of the game I could have played waiting for this one. Now I just want my money back. Thanks for messing this up so bad Blizzard. Think I'll pass on your games the way Bethesda has made me pass on theirs.

    Made an account just for this. ATVI has officially hit the bottom. I have sold all my ATVI stock because even after so many second chances Blizzard still refuses to create quality content. This is not incompetence, this is cutting off your nose to spite your face. This is intentional. I hope ATVI goes bankrupt and the people in charge struggle to find new jobs.

    Blizz killed classic client and forced classic players to use 30GB's garbage UI. Im from PL and they also forced me to listen to new voiceline (which sounds really bad) I've paid for W3 ROC+TFT and i was enjoying fun.     What they didn't do right.
    -Some models looks terrible compared to their original version.
    -Missing features from the original (ladders, profiles, matchmaking)
    -Locking off certain options that were in Classic and must purchase Reforged to unlock them again. (Can't change shadows...)
    -Certain models are missing visual features (Mannoroth and Kil-Jaden do not have flames spewing around them for example.)
    -Forcing classic players to download a ~24 GB patch that's only related to Reforged.
    -UI hasn't been updated and looks awful in widescreen and ultrawide resolutions.
    -Cannot use copyrighted materials in Custom maps anymore, some of the best maps used copyrighted material.
    -No more Custom Campaigns
    -The artistic and visual direction in this feels... safe. Nothing pops out or stands out.
    -The terrain and doodads looks almost the same thing as classic.
    -Activision-Blizzard, shadow banning people for being helpful on how to refund your purchases.
    -Their updated EULA for map making says that they removed your MORAL RIGHTS when making a map, meaning that they don't even need to credit you anymore if ever they take your idea.
    -Game crashes for what is essentially a 17 year old game with a face paint. (The game never crashed before Reforged.)
    -Frame rate issues during multiplayer FOR SOME REASON.
    -All CGI cutscenes aren't updated and still look like their 2002 version. With the exception of the intro CGI cutscene.
    -They removed any details cinematics in-game that was shown off in 2018 and kept the old version of cinematics.
    -Activision-Blizzard has not responded at all to any of the issues since launch day. Lack of communication from them.

    Sadly the damage has been done, even if they were to fix it in later patches, it's just too awful to reconsider it later on.    … Expand

If this game would fail, which I was actually expecting, Classic would have been a failsafe to return back to.     I'm not even a multiplayer. I wanted the campaign. And man, when I heard about 4 hours of reforged cinematic, new story elements, newly shot scenes.. man or man did I get happy like a child.

The early builds and promotional content    I have grown up playing a bunch of RTS games (Age of Empires 1&2, Age of Mythology, Empire Earth, Rise of Nations, and Starcraft 2 would be the most influential to me) but Warcraft is a franchise just a bit too far before my time and had not played any of them.

    Enter the news that there will be a remaster for Warcraft 3 and I am TOTALLY on board. The early builds and promotional content look awesome and I can't wait. A NEW (kinda) RTS in 2020 that is built from what is described as one of the greatest in the genre, what is described to have DEFINED the genre for the rest of its history!

    Flash to its release when I discover it is in fact inferior to the original. That all the early promotional content was cut from the release and a coat of make-up is all that it offers compared to the original release. That in fact it offers far less content than what the original did and that the community created content has been butchered and tied in crimson tape so that reads "Nothing you make as a community will belong to you. It will be entirely ours and you have no right to claim ownership of the effort you put forward to creating it". I wonder what effort the creator put forward for this? I imagine such a devoted community would have quickly eclipsed the total work hours of the publishing company and made something worth playing regardless of what if any effort the owners put into it.

    For that tape I can't buy it hoping that the community would provide something worth playing.

    I question where to go from there. I wonder if I could go and play the original instead but a short investigation shows I can't legitimately play that version or purchase it. The NEW version exists. They want me to buy that instead.

    This entire...ISSUE of a game has and continues to be covered by people more qualified to dissect where it goes than I. So I normally wouldn't rate something so low in good conscience but thinking it over I realize its the only number it deserves.

    I give this game a ZERO because instead of being my chance to play this genre-defining title after so long of sleeping on it, it turned out to stop me from EVER being able to play it as it was intended for the rest of my RTS-loving life. It is a complete reversal of what I was promised and what I looked forward to. I only regret not playing "Warcraft 3" before the launch of "Warcraft 3: Reforged".    … Expand

    The one thing you had to do to make a passible remaster was not touch the custom games scene. When you released starcraft 2 you dealt a blow to the custom scene that the game would never recover from even when much later you made it free.     I gave it a honest try, played though half the human campaign, played several online custom games and even tried verse with a AI, it’s just so bad, the art is way off from warcraft, the characters don’t show any emotion in cut scenes, the verses is horribly bad (kept having to zoom in because the big characters models wouldn’t let me click small ones next to it) and 2/6 custom games II gave it a honest try, played though half the human campaign, played several online custom games and even tried verse with a AI, it’s just so bad, the art is way off from warcraft, the characters don’t show any emotion in cut scenes, the verses is horribly bad (kept having to zoom in because the big characters models wouldn’t let me click small ones next to it) and 2/6 custom games I played worked, the rest crashed my game or made everyone insta lose, I played a legend TD and both kings died at the start of the game

    Terrible, the whole game is just a lie. Barely managed to get it running, and when I did, I couldn't believe my eyes. It's running at 20 FPS or even lower!!! The changes that were promised are simply not there, and now I can't even play the good old Warcraft 3!? What!? I'm struggling, but I will get the refund in some way as they do not deserve a single penny. Despicable.

    Warcraft III was my first blizzard game as a teenager and I became an avid blizzard fan since then. I started playing all games made by Blizzard and it was for a very long time my favorite game developing company.
    Fast forward to today, after the release of Warcraft III, I've lost all my faith in the this **** company and I refuse to play any more games made by Blizzard.
    Personally I am    Warcraft III was my first blizzard game as a teenager and I became an avid blizzard fan since then. I started playing all games made by Blizzard and it was for a very long time my favorite game developing company.
    Fast forward to today, after the release of Warcraft III, I've lost all my faith in the this **** company and I refuse to play any more games made by Blizzard.
    Personally I am grateful for this experience, observing my own opinion about something changing from extreme favoritism to extreme disgust. It really got me thinking about perspective and opinion and how nothing in this world stays the same just because you hope it would.
    I've noticed signs of decline in quality and deviation of the company's strategy over the last few years, but I've always denied the fact. It's definitely a life lesson for me that now I've came to accept the fact that Blizzard sucks now. Changing your strong opinion on something is not the easiest thing in the world, and congratulations to Blizzard, you've done it this time to me and millions of hardcore fan out there.
    So I really hope you crash and burn Blizzard, I'll always cherish the memories of the good times I've had with your games. I'm also very thankful to all the developer that worked really hard throughout the years for the joins you brought me.
    Blizzard, as a gaming company, you don't deserve to exist in this world. But again, same can be said about a lot of companies in the gaming world.    … Expand

I doubt the actual developers of the game wanted to release it as is, it had to be a decision of the management. It would be pointless to start listing what's wrong with it, it's just an unfinished game. Still doesn't deserve a 0 like many people are giving it, since technically it still is WarcraftIn its current state, objectively I give it a 3 out of 10 because the game is unfinished.     Blizzard has **** up in every possible way with this one, i am thanking the gods right now that i kept my 'less legit' disc copy of the game so i can reinstall the older version of classic cause they actually retroactively downgraded the classic version too.

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
