    They ruined WC3 classic which had been playable for 17 years. All of the progress, history, memroies, gone in an instant. The new version is only half finished and there has been no communication from Blizzard at all - it's astonishing how poor the outreach has been.

    Well this was a really painfull experience. SInce the moment I clicked the "BUY NOW" button my completely new PC started to restart over and over like a hundred times (RYZEN 5 3600 CPU based). Few times I have been forced to uninstall and download again whole game, because of PC failures through downloading process (no ingame voices, crashing ingame videos). Then I was able to play threeWell this was a really painfull experience. SInce the moment I clicked the "BUY NOW" button my completely new PC started to restart over and over like a hundred times (RYZEN 5 3600 CPU based). Few times I have been forced to uninstall and download again whole game, because of PC failures through downloading process (no ingame voices, crashing ingame videos). Then I was able to play three prologue missions with about 10 crashes to BSOD. During this I realized that the only plus of this crappy game is characters HD reforge.
    Maybe my expectations were a bit higher. When someone says REFORGE, I would expect to bring the game to 21st century standards. And that did not happen.
    So I uninstalled the game the last time, closed the battlenet app, and world wonder, the pc stopped to crash as well.
    The result of that is that I again installed old good WC3 from 2002 and it runs pretty smooth on WIN10. Blizzard also accepted my request for refund.

    Its Buggy, the Grafic sucks, the Cutesceens are just filtered original Cutsceens from 2000, The Sound sometime stops, You have to bind your Hotkeys in a Text Document, You cant see you Hotkeys ingame, There is nothing that shows you the Controlls, it was 20 Years off Development for nothing

    very bad game/Blizzard is dead. Has been a great run but at this point it is clear that their investors have claimed complete control (creative and not) and it shows.

    Greetings. I don't like to give flat out 0 score as developers deserve some credit, this is a special case and I feel heart broken to the point to make an account to write this review.

    What I like: They kept original voice lines and dialogue (so far) which seem to be quite nice, I love how they respected this aspect of the game which brings memories and nostalgia.     What I don't like: Multiple textures used in the game looks like washed out compared to the previous teaser videos.
    With the release of WC3 Reforged, they also changed WC3(original) forcing players to update.
    The inability (at least I could not find an option) to go back to old model and textures like they did on SC1.
    Most cutscenes I got to see are far from dramatic and some even feel light-hearted, specially the one for the Culling of Stratholme... It feels like they are taking Jaina to disneyland! Where is the dramatic scenario? Where did art direction go?
    What they are doing to UMS to avoid another icefrog/dota issue which drives modders away.

    But what truly breaks my heart is the removal of Samwise Didier's icon for reforged and replaced by somebody else.
    Samwise is one of the most important people for the company and for one of my favorite games, Warcraft 3, leaving his icon would be a good sign to respect his legacy, maybe they removed it on purpose to not harm his image.    … Expand

    I bought this game since 02/01/2019, a whole year of waiting and it becomes a obvious cash grab. Truly disappointed with Blizzard as a whole. I am not purchasing any more games and expansions from this company more.

That hasn't happened since what Wrath? We have all seen the quality in their games diminish over the years and this is the nail in the coffin.

    2. Every Voice Matters - Clearly we are not being heard, even though they say they are listening.

    3. Gameplay First - Well, we can throw this one right out the window wit this game because for one, you can't play the game, there is no game play. This value needs to be changed to Money First.

    4. Lead Responsibly - Blizzard WAS once a leader in the gaming industry, that is no longer the case, because they blame the consumer for what they put out, they dont take any responsibility for their actions at all, and when we hear the "We are Sorry" letters, we are issued bans for requesting refunds on a broken game that looks NOTHING like it did at Blizzcon. Blizzard needs to take responsibility for their actions which they have proven time and time again that they just simply, cant.

    BLIZZCON 2018 I am very excited about the game, but this is a scam to the players, they lack many things so that the game is polished. it was necessary to ruin a mythical game, with this version without soul and made with little love to what I characterized warcraft 3.

    - Promisses from the blizzcon were not fullfilled at all!
    - reforged cutscenes aren't even close to what was promised.

    The first thing that I want to point out is that I am very unhappy about the Critic reviews. They focus on Warcraft III more than they should instead of focusing on the false advertisement that is Warcraft III: Reforged.

You didn't delete your game, gold star!". Reforge is NOT Warcraft III, it is more akin to a mod. You don't praise the original DotA because it was using Warcraft III Models, terrain, ect. You praise DotA for being a unique concept executed well and using those resources from the base game in a new and innovative way.

    And what did Reforge "reconstruct" that was so valuable? the models? or are you talking about the classic client that no longer exists, or the reconstruction of the forums by banning people? and how the hell does a review that lists ONE GOOD THING HAVE A 75 FOR A SCORE? ESPECIALLY when that ONE good thing is what they DIDN'T change...

    These critics really irritate me, worried more about their jobs and getting paid then the truth and the respect for the game. If any critic reviews this like they have and have played the original Warcraft III, then shame on you. You have let all of us, and yourself, down.

    Remember that apology they gave at Blizzcon 2019? How they 'Didn't live up to their high standards'? Is this their "High Standards"? Is this bringing the world together, or is it epic entertainment? Speaking of which there is a beautiful comment on that video...

    "Our wallets took a hit so we're going to throw out a cheap apology rather than change business practices. And since you're all stupid it'll work."

    Honestly I do feel stupid. I feel stupid that I gave Blizzard the hope that they could revive my favorite game, bring back what gave me YEARS of REAL Epic Entertainment. The game that created a Genre while commanding its own. Now what? Instead of inspiring the next generation to create the next Genre they are inspiring generations to leave them because they threaten to remove your rights if you have a single productive thought.

    As much as I want to keep going I will end this here before more critics start to post some stupid crap about how "It's still Warcraft III" because they don't have the integrity to tell the truth and fight for what we were promised, or at the very least the things we should have (like our rights).    … Expand

    Biggest scam in Video Game history. We literally paid for a downgrade. They removed more things than they added. (Clans, matchmaking, ingameprofile, Bnet tournaments etc.) The worst thing about it: No communication with us when **** will be fixed. Im so disappointedI

From AOEs redone audio, redone voices, improved intros, 8 brand new campaigns, multiplayer training challenges, improved modding support, inbuilt mod browser, redone ai, improved editor AND minor changes to make missions more historically accurate to Reforged REMOVING features while having the gaul toComparing this to AOE Definitive, a game that's MORE THEN HALF PRICE is a utter joke.     This hurts more than Arthas's death. So much wasted potential. Well there are minor upgrades like stacking potions and the scrollls and some models look really great, but its do not same fack that everything else is ****.

Такую версию должны давать бесплатно обладателям классических частей, надеясь, что игроки пропустят мимо колоссальное количество багов и недоработок, ведь халява на дороге не валяется. Но нет, они ещё и затянули петлю на шее у мододелов, гениально.

    Что же мы видим в итоге? 1200 за кусок невнятного и бессмысленного переиздания, которое разочаровывает слишком сильно, чтобы ставить ей больше нуля балов. Всё, что они старались сделать — обмануть основную массу доверяющих им игроков, подсовывая вместо сладких обещаний ту же игру 2002 года в более плачевном виде. Грусть.    … Expand

To be clear i think thre are 3 majors reason to play this game back in the days, the campain, the ladder and customs maps(my personnal favorite).     So as they announced W3Reforged i was excited especially after WoW Classic (sure le log-in what a mess at start but the soul of the game is still here).

    I was waiting this game like the messiah, the redefinition of what use to be a standard, not a hd package worth 30€, a real reinterpretation of the game, like rework cinematics for instance, new campain missions which focus on some of the characters like Jaina, new interface, rework cutscenes. None of this is actually present in the game. As many have said on Reddit, Blizzard forums and such, we even losed features, what a mess.

    -Game breaking bugs, with the insta-defeat upon finishing a cinematic
    -No Ladder
    -No clans
    -No profile
    -No dynamic camera cutscenes , just the old speech tab with a distant point of view
    -No UI Improvment, the ui take a third of the screen, and this get worst when you have all the speech/hint/quest text above all of it
    -Hd textures are awful, this is my perspective by the way
    -Extreme lagging and freezes on some map zones
    -Burning structures flickers when they are in fog of war (great for epileptics i guess)
    -Bad localisation, and mos important i as download 2 languages packages sometimes they mixed up and i have both french and english text when mouseovering on units...
    -Annoying sound bugs, like the murlocs death's sound animation triggering 15 times in a row, when you walk into water my ears started bleeding, but nevermind sometimes there is no music at all or your unit will stop talking.
    -Mini map is ugly and messy, again personnal point of view
    -Old unit selection limit, which would have been a improvement overall
    -New custom map economy model, which by the way destroys a third of the game, no Dota or things like that
    -No additional missions on strong wow characters as promised
    -unability to create a custom game, this bug is really frustrating you hit tha button "create" but nothing happens not even a text message in the chat
    -Forced jump to the W3Reforged files even if you only own W3TFT, with all the "Improvements" above, thank you actiblizz
    -Forgive me if i am wrong but i've not seen the rexxar narative arc

    But there is one thing that gives me headaches and i don"t see mentionned so often, the pathfinding.

    This is the worst i have seen in a long time, and for me this is a true nightmare. As far as know and upon testing multiple time your units will try to stand in the positions like the pattern in the bottom right corner of the map. But the actual game cannot handle different unit speed variations, so you end up with a unit split.

    For exampe, on the mission when you have to protect the kodos when playing orcs, thrall was standing still rotating himself before even considering to move 3 sec later same for the back units around him, to me that means that the game could not handle a simple order as "move" correctly, this is a big problem for a RTS, same goes for big units as the meat wagons which sometimes decide to not pass trought 2 buoldings when you select plenty of them, you have to drag them 1 by 1, it's a shame.

    I'll not talk about the ban problem occuring at the moment, I have no clue why they were banned for, but if this is true then actiblizz is like the china's goverment which is ironic in a way.

    For players comming from WoW this will not be a good experience, the story is pretty much the same and certain gaps still remain unfullfilled.

    For players discovering this world, it will not be good either, the game is still full of bugs and the clunkyness of it will tear you appart, try the original version first this game was a blast

    For players comming from the original game, oh boy, it will be heartbreakin lads.

    The most controversial point is probably the "remelted" ugly cinematics, the intro one has been redone you can clearly see it, but the others are just upsclale.

    I will finish on this, take Mannoroth for instance, the new model is awful certainly but he was reworked, in the cinematic when he appears nope, the same goes for Archimonde by the way, leading me to say that if there is no bridges between thoses you can clearly feel that the game has been rushed and actually in his launch state remains unfinished, even if they delayed the release by 1 month to polish it, laughtable.

    I would have love this game, really, but right now i can not recommand this pile of junk to anyone what a shame,, blizzard is digging his own grave since they merged with activision, the coffin is ready, Diablo immortal/BFA/FreeHongKong/W3R are your nails, and I as a gamer cannot agree with your vision any longer.    … Expand

    I pre-bought this last year and I feel like I've payed 30€ for a downgrade. Warcraft III classic was already almost abandoned, and this managed to further reduce the feature set of Battle.net (no more ranking and matchmaking), while adding a plethora of major bugs to the game itself, making competitive games just impossible. Simply not acceptable.

    I didnt pay 30$ for a bug ass game that keeps crashing and same story telling with just improve graphic. Nothing has changed besides the way it looks. Not worth the price nor the effort of keeping relaunching the game.

    The refund policy just shows that Blizzard is aware of the horrendous state of this game and prepared themselves to keep as much money as possible: try to sell, what should be an update of a game, and let customers waive their right for refund when they buy,install or open the game.

    When I heard the announcement of this game I was excited beyond words. I was worried considering how Blizzard fared throughout the past few years, but I still decided to support the game by pre-purchasing it early on. After the delay was announced I was relieved a bit, seeing that Blizzard is not trying to rush the release.

    After my initial relief I was surprised to see a release early 2020, but I was still thrilled to try out the game. What awaited me was not an overly healthy dose of nostalgia, but the worst gaming experience I ever had. This game being a remake, I expected Blizzard to cover most features the original game had. It turned out that 90% of those features were missing, and even the extra features Blizzard promised were only partially delivered, if at all.

    Instead of listing everything what is missing, let me describe you what the game contains:
    - A single player campaign that you need to be online to play. They also re-introduced several bugs that were fixed in the original, and the Reign of Chaos campaigns use The Frozen Throne balancing for no reasons whatsoever.
    - A map creator, which is hidden by default. Don't get your hopes too high thinking that you can get famous by creating the next DotA. Blizzard took legal actions to ensure that any custom game created by the company is their intellectual property.
    - Versus mode - not to be confused by ladder or matchmaking. It just finds random players for either 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 or FFA. This might not sound bad, but the lack of stats is a fatal mistake for the game. You might get matched against people who don't even know how to summon a hero, or against a veteran pro player. It is very rare to be able to play a balanced game. Connectivity issues, on the other hand, are very common. Every third of fourth game, the game fails to start. No error message or anything, you get stuck in the queue and have to restart the game manually.
    - New skins. Most of them look very nice, I would say Blizzard spent most of their resources on the graphics. The sad thing is that they are very detailed models that were made to look cool when zoomed in, but are very hard to distinguish and see in larger fights. Many units have the problem that it's difficult to see which player they belong to, as the team coloring is too subtle.

    Final verdict: Don't waste a single cent on this """game""" until Blizzard reflects on their failure and polishes the issues. Note that the game is not even in an alpha state, so I estimate that it would take at least three years of development to make the game stable and overall an okay experience. Just okay, which does not even come anywhere close to the legendary original.    … Expand

    The Blizzard of old is dead, we're just still in denial.
    When it works, W3 is still awesome, but this release is sad, very sad only.

    Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.
