    Pre-ordered in 2018 and this game is a complete betrayal. Should've made the game on a new engine and started over from scratch instead of worrying about the older version of the game. Want a refund.

    I feel let down. I was hyped to play the campaign again. We were promised great cut scenes and nothing ended up in the game. Vote with your wallet too and get a refund!

    Ну, что ж, надо же так обосраться, выпустить в релиз такую недоделанную игру. Если репутация им ещё важна, то они сделают все что необходимо для того что бы ситуацию стабилизировать.

    Хороший ремастер. А сейчас люди просто ради фана рушат рейтинг игры. То им не нравится и это. Для меня ремастер. Советую всем опробовать .

    мало того, что просто много функций срезали, оптимизацию не завезли, лагов и вылетов добавили, так ещё и классическую версию насильно поменяли людям на новую, а если переключить графику на старую - она будет хуже...

    This is one of the worst Remasters i have ever played. The promised reworked campaign remains untouched, excepting a few missions with a new map layout. The graphics seem to be better on the surface, but because they didn't finish most of the animations many units seem like lifeless dolls in comparison to their nearly 20 years old counterparts. I'm an avid warcraft 3 fan and it hurts me to see the original game ruined by such a corporate, myopic business decision to put as little money as possible into a "new" game in order to update the EULA and claim intellectual property rights over people's custom games. Hardly anything from the classic game works.. sounds.. replays.. they abandoned virtually everything they promised to deliver in this game. That's why they released it silently.

    I imagine in 2017 a conversation at Activision/Blizzard went like this:

    "Hey we totally missed the boat on DotA by not paying attention to our community and capitalizing on easy opportunities.. how can we not do that?"
    "I know, we'll change the EULA (user agreement) so that anyone who makes a custom game has to give it to us 100% so we can make all the money off it, and they get none!"
    "Brilliant! But nobody will like that... how can we make this okay?"
    "We could 'remake' warcraft 3? Give it some quality of life updates and some new graphics? Then poeple will be happy to play the new game with the new EULA."
    "Great idea, but I don't want to actually spend any money in order to make money... how about we just outsource everything for cheap, spend hardly any money at all, and update the EULA in the new game? We spend nothing, and make tons!!"

    What they didn't do right.
    -Some models looks terrible compared to their original version.
    -Missing features from the original (ladders, profiles, matchmaking)
    -Locking off certain options that were in Classic and must purchase Reforged to unlock them again. (Can't change shadows...)
    -Certain models are missing visual features (Mannoroth and Kil-Jaden do not have flames spewing around them for example.)
    -Forcing classic players to download a ~24 GB patch that's only related to Reforged.
    -UI hasn't been updated and looks awful in widescreen and ultrawide resolutions.
    -Cannot use copyrighted materials in Custom maps anymore, some of the best maps used copyrighted material.
    -No more Custom Campaigns
    -The artistic and visual direction in this feels... safe. Nothing pops out or stands out.
    -The terrain and doodads looks almost the same thing as classic.
    -Activision-Blizzard, shadow banning people for being helpful on how to refund your purchases.
    -Their updated EULA for map making says that they removed your MORAL RIGHTS when making a map, meaning that they don't even need to credit you anymore if ever they take your idea.
    -Game crashes for what is essentially a 17 year old game with a face paint. (The game never crashed before Reforged.)
    -Frame rate issues during multiplayer FOR SOME REASON.
    -All CGI cutscenes aren't updated and still look like their 2002 version. With the exception of the intro CGI cutscene.
    -They removed any details cinematics in-game that was shown off in 2018 and kept the old version of cinematics.
    -Activision-Blizzard has not responded at all to any of the issues since launch day. Lack of communication from them.

    Sadly the damage has been done, even if they were to fix it in later patches, it's just too awful to reconsider it later on.    … Expand

    I really wanted to like this release(as I love the original game), but my attempts to force it upon myself ware not enough.

    It is just a broken game developed by an overworked, under underbudged team, there is no other explanation.

    And the biggest disaster is that we can not go back and play the original.

    I was hoping that this release will bring new players and maybe new games to the RTS world(as it is really fun to play and even watch), but I realize that this was just a pipedream.

    Basically just don't bay the game, if you are new to it, it does not deseve your time, if you ride the nostalgic train, don't touch this it will just burn you.

    So sad. This game was supposed to save WC3 online, and now I highly doubt anyone will pick it up seeing this whole **** storm. The campaign is admittedly fine for me, but the game clearly was still not rdy after delays. Imagine how bad it would have looked if it released in 2019

    I'm not even a multiplayer. I wanted the campaign. And man, when I heard about 4 hours of reforged cinematic, new story elements, newly shot scenes.. man or man did I get happy like a child.

    Made an account just for this. ATVI has officially hit the bottom. I have sold all my ATVI stock because even after so many second chances Blizzard still refuses to create quality content. This is not incompetence, this is cutting off your nose to spite your face. This is intentional. I hope ATVI goes bankrupt and the people in charge struggle to find new jobs.

    Don't buy this game. Its literally a downgrade from the original. The only thing that improved was the graphics and everything else went to **** The new graphics does not even look that good. FPS issues removing ladder and player profiles etc. Do not buy this game and don't ever buy from Blizzard ever.

    Making a cheap cashgrab with uglier graphics is one thing (i don't really blame blizzard for the graphics, they forgot how to code and therefore don't know how to write an engine anymore).
    However dDowngrading and removing features on the original game is another. Blizzard really outdid themselves on this one.

Тысячи негативных отзывов к сожалению совершенно не отражают качество игры.     Add to that, that even if they make the remaster fps hell a decent gameplay experience in the future. They destroyed any and all incentive for    FIrst of, the remaster is lackluster overall.
    But put ontop of that they destroyed the original war3 game, which you can no longer play. A legendary game that has held up for 2 decades they just put to pasture for a quick 40 euro moneygrab.
    Add to that, that even if they make the remaster fps hell a decent gameplay experience in the future. They destroyed any and all incentive for budding game developers to push new game modes through custom maps, by changing the TOS significantly for custom map makers.

The Chinese overlords that have taken over Blizzard have raped my childhood memories of this fantastic game, and then had the gull to demand 30 USD for this piece of crap.     Unfortunately, I DO have a memory. And I distinctly remember reading a description of this product and watching demos of this product before getting out my wallet and paying for it. I can't find any of the promised features in Reforged. And I remember the original Warcraft 3, so I can pretty well see what they did with this remaster. The answer is: very little.

    I actually did not look online before buying and playing the game and had not read anything about it. But when I started the Campaign, immediately I was unimpressed by some of the cutscenes. They were just slightly better res. of the exact same animations in W3. "Wait a minute, these don't look brand-new at all..." I thought. Then I sat through a few of the pre-mission dialogue scenes... They were very unimpressive. Exactly what I would expect in 2002. Not what I would expect from a "remaster" done in 2020.

    Also, I never played original Warcraft 3 multiplayer. I was really looking forward to testing my skills in Reforged against a ranked ladder with standard multiplayer features. The multiplayer currently in Reforged feels archaic... Definitely not enough to feel like it's competitive. I want to know that I'm playing against evenly skilled players as I steadily improve myself, and I lost a lot of desire for playing through the Campaign knowing there'd be very little opportunity to fairly test my skill afterwards.

    Overall, it feels like the developers gave themselves the excuse of "preserving the original" to justify very minimal change or improvement in the game. While they were at it, they unfortunately decided to make several features of the original game worse. I will come back in 6 months and see if anything is better. Until then, there is nothing here to review except shortcomings, thus a 0.    … Expand

    Really happy to be able to revisit and play the campaign with higher quality models. Not happy to be scammed of my money, if you are not ready to release a game then delay it. Atleast you wont get a 0.8 rating LOL.

    This game is perfect example of what can happen in one of the greatest gaming companies if it has been taken over by money driven giant like Activision. Quality is gone, people are upset and mad but for them only money matters. Sad times for game industry.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've been enjoying the campaign so far. I haven't played multiplayer yet. I've completed the original campaign more than five times on both normal and hard. I really the changes to some of the campaign maps. Dalaran and Silvermoon are so much better in the undead campaign. They fixed a lot in the human campaign. I haven't completed much else, but for now I'm pretty happy with the campaign.

    Unfortunately, there are some issues. Stuttering at times during gameplay and especially during the main menu. Shouldn't exist in a blizzard game. More care and money should've been invested into a remake of such a beloved game. Overall, the art is great, the campaign is great, but it's not a perfect remake by any means.    … Expand

    This is no longer Blizzard. Blizzard does not exist anymore. Blizzard was a company that created amazing polished games. It was a respected name. If you see the name Blizzard now it just means Activision. Don't ever trust a game from Activision. Dog sh*t company ruining games left and right. Blizzard is no longer alive it was killed years ago.     Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.
