    Let me first confess that I didn't play the original series. Now I know why people love the series! This game has been eating my free time like crazy. I'm planning on setting my alarm on a weekend to get in as much playing as I can. I hope to see some DLC coming for this game.

    Pathetic. Outsourced models are out of place and clash horribly. All the charm and features are gone. What we have now is a not a Blizzard product, it's some sorry excuse for a game that anyone who put their name on working on this should be ashamed.

    The game is so disappointed. Blizzard upgraded the picture and nothing surprised me what they have done just looks like a fan-work not like a Blizzard work. By the way, they should also upgrade the mini map and their management system.

    I love Warcraft III and I love custom games from this game. And was happy that Blizzard going to improve this game.
    But the "Warcraft III: Reforged" is not an improved old game, in reality, it is worsened and truncated version. And I can't play the old Warcraft III game now because of super-duper "backwards-compatibility".

    Warcraft III was my first blizzard game as a teenager and I became an avid blizzard fan since then. I started playing all games made by Blizzard and it was for a very long time my favorite game developing company.
    Fast forward to today, after the release of Warcraft III, I've lost all my faith in the this **** company and I refuse to play any more games made by Blizzard.
    Personally I am    Warcraft III was my first blizzard game as a teenager and I became an avid blizzard fan since then. I started playing all games made by Blizzard and it was for a very long time my favorite game developing company.
    Fast forward to today, after the release of Warcraft III, I've lost all my faith in the this **** company and I refuse to play any more games made by Blizzard.
    Personally I am grateful for this experience, observing my own opinion about something changing from extreme favoritism to extreme disgust. It really got me thinking about perspective and opinion and how nothing in this world stays the same just because you hope it would.
    I've noticed signs of decline in quality and deviation of the company's strategy over the last few years, but I've always denied the fact. It's definitely a life lesson for me that now I've came to accept the fact that Blizzard sucks now. Changing your strong opinion on something is not the easiest thing in the world, and congratulations to Blizzard, you've done it this time to me and millions of hardcore fan out there.
    So I really hope you crash and burn Blizzard, I'll always cherish the memories of the good times I've had with your games. I'm also very thankful to all the developer that worked really hard throughout the years for the joins you brought me.
    Blizzard, as a gaming company, you don't deserve to exist in this world. But again, same can be said about a lot of companies in the gaming world.    … Expand

    The promises (as still shown on there webpage at this time) of extra content, redone cutscenes and the like are all not in the game.
    Broken so many custom games, the game itself crashes multiple times. I'm honestly shocked by how bad this was, I expected a    Reforged ? More like Downgraded. Apart from the new models (which admittedly are nice) they've removed so much from what it once was.
    The promises (as still shown on there webpage at this time) of extra content, redone cutscenes and the like are all not in the game.
    Broken so many custom games, the game itself crashes multiple times. I'm honestly shocked by how bad this was, I expected a Love Letter to one of the Best PC Games of all time, by the company who used to have such love for their products. Because of this, I will be able to get a full refund whereas my friend is no longer eligible. With the release of this game Blizzard has made some of the most egregious, and morally inept moves i have seen a company of their size make in a long time; just for a few extra dollars to fill their coffers. It pains me to say this but I will not pre-order, or play anymore Blizzard games moving forward until they fix their company culture, business model, and public relations and right so many of the wrongs they committed in 2019 and now early 2020.… Expand

    Blizzard has **** up in every possible way with this one, i am thanking the gods right now that i kept my 'less legit' disc copy of the game so i can reinstall the older version of classic cause they actually retroactively downgraded the classic version too.

    What a disappointment. This was purely a cash grab. They've also doubled down updating their policy claiming rights to every map you make and banning anything they deem to be copyright material. No more fan maps for tv shows and games. Their new model is to steal game ideas from aspiring children and game developers.

    This is antithesis of everything Blizzard was before. Remaster (Reforge?) was rushed, is missing features that were available in original versions almost 20 years ago (sic!) and actually marketing materials are still misleading customer about what was done in reforged version.

    I own the original game. Played it for a VERY long time. I refunded this game after playing for an hour or so. It is so disappointing. Very poorly done game but a company that is in its downfall.

I doubt the actual developers of the game wanted to release it as is, it had to be a decision of the management. It would be pointless to start listing what's wrong with it, it's just an unfinished game. Still doesn't deserve a 0 like many people are giving it, since technically it still is WarcraftIn its current state, objectively I give it a 3 out of 10 because the game is unfinished.     El rendimiento es pobre: un hechizo grande (Terremoto, por ejemplo) o la destrucción de cualquier edificio causa un stuttering horrible y los FPS caen.
    Las sombras y cualquier tipo de efecto del ambiente brilla por su ausencia.
    La UI es exactamente la misma que hace 15 años, no la nueva que fue prometida.

Blizzard blendet die Kernzielgruppe komplett aus, entfernt für die Community essentielle Bestandteile des Spiels und hat sich seit der langen Betaphase nie die Blöße gegeben,Eine Ära geht zu Ende. Es ist mir völlig rätselhaft wie ein so großer Konzern Entscheidungen rechtfertigen kann oder möchte, die zu einem Ergebnis geführt haben, das uns hier und heute als Reforged präsentiert wurde. Blizzard blendet die Kernzielgruppe komplett aus, entfernt für die Community essentielle Bestandteile des Spiels und hat sich seit der langen Betaphase nie die Blöße gegeben, auch nur einmal auf Augenhöhe mit der Community zu kommunizieren und auf Kritik einzugehen.

    Ein Großteil der Punkte wurde in den anderen Reviews schon genannt, ich möchte speziell nochmal diese Punkte hervorheben:

    - das klassische Matchmaking wurde entfernt; es gibt keine Ladder und keine Übersicht der Siege/Niederlagen mehr. IN EINEM KOMPETITIVEN MULTIPLAYER GAME. Das war ein so zentraler Bestandteil des Spiels, das über 17 Jahre dafür gesorgt hat, dass das Spiel immer noch gespielt wurde. Unglaublich.
    - es ist nicht mehr möglich mit der klassischen Spielversion The Frozen Throne zu spielen; stattdessen wird man über den Launcher in den neuen Layer gezwungen (mit all den Nachteilen)
    - die alten Sounds sind nicht mehr verfügbar; die Nostalgie der alten Stimmen z.B. wenn der Peon "Arbeit, Arbeit" ruft ist verloren gegangen. Die neuen Stimmen klingen gewöhnungsbedürftig. Das mag für neue Spieler kein Problem sein, ist aber für alte Spieler sehr enttäuschend.
    - die User Experience bzw. die grafische Oberfläche der Menü- und Panelgestaltung ist einfach nur ein Schlag ins Gesicht. Schrift, Buttons, Chat, Einstellungen bis hin zu den verpixelten Karten in der Vorschau oder der fehlenden Möglichkeit die richtige Auflösung für WIdescreen-Monitore einzustellen (gab es mal in der 1.30; hat Blizzard auch erfolgreich kaputt gepatcht); oder die fehlende Möglichkeit Custom Hotkeys direkt über das Menü einzustellen ist einfach nur frustrierend
    - Custom Games funktionieren nur noch teilweise oder eingeschränkt und es gibt keinen richtigen Filter mehr in der Übersicht (nur noch eine Volltextsuche); die ganze Übersicht wirkt sehr unübersichtlich gegenüber der alten Version. Das bekommt jedes moderne iPad Spiel besser hin.

    Noch nie wurde bei einem Remake so wenig über die Grafik gesprochen wie bei diesem Spiel. Blizzard hat das Spiel kastriert, nochmal kastriert, nochmal kastriert und dann mit dem falschen Farbton drübergepinselt. Auch wenn die neue Grafik der Models und Icons im Detail ganz schön aussehen mag, funktioniert sie im Großen und ganzen einfach nicht in einem kompetitiven Spiel, da die Lernkurve durch die Entfremdung der alten Grafik zu hoch ist und die visuelle Übersicht auf dem Schlachtfeld durch die vielen Details, falschen "Farben" und Beleuchtung sehr schlecht ausfällt.

    Das neue Stadtportal Icon sieht z.B. aus wie ein Heiltrank die Grunzer sehen neben einigen Banditen Creeps aus wie die eigenen Einheiten. Das kann einfach nicht funktionieren.

People were defending the beta for so long, defending Blizzard for their lack of communication, defending Blizzard against people saying the preorder was just a cash grab. It is utterly disappointing considering the original game from 16 years ago ran better than on the new engine with new software with somewhat of new graphics.     Llevo jugando Warcraft 3 desde que tenia 8 años, no entendía bien la historia ya que era imposible con esa edad, pero los combates y la amenaza de los muertos vivientes hacia las otras 3 razas se hacían sentir hasta para un niño de esa edad, lo jugué desde esas edad hasta este año 2020 y puedo decir que es un juego perfecto que nunca envejeció, ayer que compre esta BASOFIA DE JUEGO, puedoLlevo jugando Warcraft 3 desde que tenia 8 años, no entendía bien la historia ya que era imposible con esa edad, pero los combates y la amenaza de los muertos vivientes hacia las otras 3 razas se hacían sentir hasta para un niño de esa edad, lo jugué desde esas edad hasta este año 2020 y puedo decir que es un juego perfecto que nunca envejeció, ayer que compre esta BASOFIA DE JUEGO, puedo decir que estoy o orgulloso de no haber comprado los últimos juegos de Blizzard y NINGÚN call of duty en MAS de 6 años, ACTIVISION BLIZZARD ES una mierda que convirtió uno de los juegos más legendarios de la historia es un muy mal chiste, por lo siguiente:

    Terrible, the whole game is just a lie. Barely managed to get it running, and when I did, I couldn't believe my eyes. It's running at 20 FPS or even lower!!! The changes that were promised are simply not there, and now I can't even play the good old Warcraft 3!? What!? I'm struggling, but I will get the refund in some way as they do not deserve a single penny. Despicable.

    If you want to play TFT, you cant, coz ur forced to download 20gigs of nothing just to change your menu interface and make ur ingame experience weird and blurry. Thanks blizzard!

    So happy this remaster just came out.

    I like it a lot, and despite needing a bit of polish (like almost all games available, at launch), it feels incredible to get back into that good old game that I loved so much back in the days.
    I hope other reviewers will honestly give it a try and mature their reviews.

False advertisement, unfinished product, the complete destruction of the old W3TFT client, a lot of the features that made this game great were discarded, buggy and sometimes unplayable even on a PC with great specifications. This is probably the worst revamp of any game ever made. A clear spit in the fact for a loyal fanbase that has stuck to this game for over 2 decades. The increasingly totalitarian manner, CCP-inspired way which Blizzard displays pretty much shows that these corpohoes have lost contact with reality and think they can get away with this. Refund this game. If they refuse, insist. If they still refuse and you are a citizen of a country with strong pro-consumer laws, don't hesitate to sue the hell out of them. It is high-time that Blizzard and Activision become accountable for their deeds and total disrespect for their customers. And if possible, stop buying products from them.… Expand

It takes work to imagine this release being any worse.

Some argue that the textures are too dull, or the team colors not vibrant enough. I agree, but we have to start somewhere.

    Not much else is great about this release. It was originally advertised as having an updated campaign with new voice acting and new cutscene camera angles to show off the assets. They also had various pitches about what they'd do with cinematic cutscenes, which is a lot of the grief you'll read about on forums. Let's nevermind the drama about cinematics, it's only a couple of minutes _total_ of the whole game experience and so not a huge deal, but it was misleading. They also stopped short of providing as many new models as they had suggested. They did get very close, though. The new UI seems to have been scrapped, along with just about all of the campaign updates, including voiceover updates. Keep in mind that all of the initial announcement material that outlines all of these features is still part of the official website and marketing material, which is what condemns all of it.

    What is made worse is that, unlike other "remasters" or "remakes" (no consensus on which this is *supposed* to be), Reforged has taken the original game along with it. You can no longer play the original game with your friends since the client auto-updates to the Reforged client, meaning you are stuck playing Reforged without Reforged models.

    No matter which game you bought, old or new, you're stuck with the incredible framerate/performance issues (for this eighteen year old game) that also impact the *MENUS* (which apparently is an embedded web browser instead of using the engine that the rest of the game uses with models, animations, and hitboxes, like WarCraft 3 used to?), limited functionality (there are more than a dozen discrete Battle.net features that just no longer exist in WarCraft 3), limited gameplay options (customs games and custom campaigns currently broken an absent, as of time of writing), not really any new features, definitely no QOL improvements (still can't reconnect after a game if you disconnect, so we relive the nostalgia of that **** experience at least!). A lot of the charm and care put into the original game is gone such as faction art and flair in menus.. but that's just presentation. We're so far away from that being a concern, because the game is broken as **** doesn't have even half of what it promised.. and worst of all..

    .. Even if you did *just* want new models, the animations are so poorly done, the old lighting and rendering system has been SO poorly updated (or hardly at all?), and the resolution/camera angles do not provide enough fidelity to actually make any practical USE out of the detail! As a matter of fact, sometimes it can be hard to tell which units you're looking at because of all of these issues crashing into each other.

    Warcraft 3: Reforged is a colossal mess, as many of us expected when we waited almost a *FULL CALENDAR YEAR* to see an *ART PREVIEW* of the night elves. Blizzard was silent on the further development of this game because it was a mess, remains a mess, and will always be a mess. I'd like to give it a single point, because Lemon Sky did a great job on the initial renders (that we are hardly allowed to enjoy..), and I'm sure this game will allow _some_ new people to experience and enjoy a game they otherwise wouldn't have.. but it came with the death of one of the greatest games I've ever played.

    I spent so much time bonding with my friends over this game as a teen - countless hours of fun. We could play it last month, and it was still a good game. Today, even if we wanted to put up with all of these issues, we can't even play together since we're not in the same region. And that is profoundly sad.    … Expand

    I gave it a honest try, played though half the human campaign, played several online custom games and even tried verse with a AI, it’s just so bad, the art is way off from warcraft, the characters don’t show any emotion in cut scenes, the verses is horribly bad (kept having to zoom in because the big characters models wouldn’t let me click small ones next to it) and 2/6 custom games II gave it a honest try, played though half the human campaign, played several online custom games and even tried verse with a AI, it’s just so bad, the art is way off from warcraft, the characters don’t show any emotion in cut scenes, the verses is horribly bad (kept having to zoom in because the big characters models wouldn’t let me click small ones next to it) and 2/6 custom games I played worked, the rest crashed my game or made everyone insta lose, I played a legend TD and both kings died at the start of the game

When you released starcraft 2 you dealt a blow to the custom scene that the game would never recover from even when much later you made it free.     Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

    In the end it’s worth noting that when viewing a remake or remaster what needs to be taken into consideration is the source material, how it looks, feels, and plays. That is, in addition to the work carried out to recreate moments, update visuals, and change any of the presentation. To do otherwise would be silly, a terrible game with a wonderful remaster doesn’t warrant a high score. In the case of Warcraft III, the inverse to that is also true. So, what we end up with is something in-between. A classic reborn, in a package that doesn’t warrant all that much in the way of celebration.

    If you set your expectations a little lower, then Warcraft 3: Reforged is a game worth of your time and money. Sadly, for many of us out there, we were expecting a little more.
