Micorsoft need to start an audit investigation a.s.a.p
Six years of development and a 200 million budget and the game is utter garbage.
Terrible graphics, boring main story, terrible side quests with no substance. NPCs / dialogue are dull, Oblivion had better NPC mechanics a game over 12 years old. Constant loading screens. Repetitive bases and planets. NPC Ai is stupid as well.

Whats the point of making a Space RPG and the game doesnt let you explore space, planets, moons, etc... Another Todd Howard lying masterclass.

People who are giving this game a 10 or GOTY are clueless
or to young to have played fallout 3/ New Vegas/ Oblivion / Skyrim.

Thankfully Steam accpeted my refund request. I will try the game again in a few years if im still interested and I can get a good sale price. Hopefully the game will have been updated / patched and the modding community should have a few hundred mods to help with the above.

I would not recoomend the game and espically at the current price.

Currently 30 hours into the game. This is the most premium, well made Bethesda game of all time. It is now my favourite bgs game ever made. I lose track of hours. When I'm not playing, I'm thinking about what to do next in game, or talking to friends about it, or watching streams of it.

    I love this game.

If you are a fan of BGS games you will love this game. If you are expecting some next gen space simulation game then you will be disappointed. It really is Skyrim in space for better and worse. For me that is amazing because Skyrim is one of my favorite games of all time.

Really trying hard to like this after it got such rave reviews. But I can't, the game is slow, boring, graphics are extremely dated. The game starts off terribly and sadly it is a mark of what's to come, some guy you don't know hands you the keys to his starship without so much as a second thought, you get to choose through useless dialogue that all has the same outcome. The very smooth and flexible gameplay of the game is the positive side of the game, so that the player does not get tired after playing for hours. The huge game size of the game allows the player to play this beautiful game for several weeks. The graphics of the game are also among the best games. If you have a strong graphics card, you can be sure that a great pleasure awaits you. The story of the game also gets an acceptable score in my opinion. Overall, I give this game a score of 10/10. Starfield is an occupied game and Microsoft once again proved its rank is lower than Sony and Bethesda studio lost its credibility among players. This game is full of bugs and these failures affect the process of game experience. All NPCs are very artificial and do not convey any emotion

Starfield does not have any of the positive qualities of either Skyrim or Fallout 4, it doesn't have the positive of other space game which did have some interesting features such as No Man's Sky.

The game starts with you as a miner, you touch a relic, you have an LSD allucination and that's it... you get dragged into a group of uninteresting people that you couldn't care less for to hunt some items that you couldn't care less for.

The dialogues are boring, the way they are acted is underwhelming, if you constantly feel like skipping the dialogues rather than getting invested into it... I would almost say that if it didn't have voice acting it would have been better, reading it into my head would have been less boring that hearing it being read as if you were presenting your homework to your teacher when you were 7.

From a Bethesda game I expected at least the story to be good.

Then we have the exploration... which is not there!
In Starfield you cannot explore space! All you can go is teleport from place to place, you teleport from a planet to it's "orbit", or rather, to a small box with the planet as a background picture, from there you can teleport to another box with another background picture. You can't explore space, all you can find by moving your ship is literally a couple asteroids, you don't even need to get close to the planet or have a particularly cool animation while landing, you just teleport.
No Man's Sky did, it was the only good thing that game had, but damn was it cool...

Starfield was supposed to be a huge world for you to explore, in reality the map is smaller than Skyrim!

Planets exploration is no better, the planets are bland, empty, and once again you are placed in a box, when you walk too far off you need to get teleported to another box on the same planet... not that you'll actually ever explore until you reach that point, since the maps are empty anyway.

The gunplay is boring, the weapons are not satisfying and for how much health the enemies have there are not enough ammo, you end up falling back to your pistol too often, I want to use fun guns, not be limited by ammo.

Spaceship battle has the cool energy system, but once you actually get to use it in practice it ends up being more of a nuisance than anything else, battles are... meh, not great.

The cool thing is that you can customize your spaceship, I mean, not that it matters since there is nothing to do in space anyway.

Quests are mostly "go from here to there and talk with A, then go there and talk to B, here there are some enemies to kill, now teleport back to C"... it's boring, it's essentially asking you to keep teleporting around, walk for 2 minutes, teleport again. Where is the immersion? Where is the exploration?

To top all of this off the game runs embarrassingly bad, it doesn't have Ray Tracing, it doesn't look particularly good, and yet it sometimes (in the city) doesn't touch 50 FPSs maxed out at 1440p in a city without FSR2 with a 4090 and a 12900k overclocked and water cooled with 3 rads... seriously? Do I need a NASA PC to play with game?
At least it stays in the upper 120s in the various planets, which are empty by the way, so I don't understand where the 50% CPU usage and 99% GPU usage is going.

There are DLSS mods since officially it's not supported, but that's not the point, I can play Cyberpunk at 1440p all maxed out in a real open world map with lots of NPCs, lots of moving objects, full Ray Tracing, Path Tracing and the entire DLSS suite at 120FPSs and hardly ever going down to the lower 90... this game needs some more work.

NPCs are dumb, but it's a Bethesda game, that's hardly surprising.

Menus are kinda weird at first, but ok in the end, the map seems weird at first, but once you realize that the game is not open world you end up realizing why it was designed the way it was designed.

You can have some choices to be a pirate or whatever, but when the dialogues are acted in such a boring way and when the interaction with the world is so limited... what's the point?

The looting is not satisfying since you don't know if what you're picking up is a weapon, food, medkit, clothing, misc? Who knows, but if you pick it up you might get over your inventory limit, which is a pain. Essentially either you meticulously scan what you picked after getting it stopping whatever you are doing, or you finish whatever you are doing and then get to the boring check of all the places you've already been to. Skyrim and Fallout 4 both had good UIs to avoid this problem.

This game is boring, and even if it ran well, look great and whatever else, it would still not be worth the money, because it's extremely boring.

I refunded my copy, and I hope you are in time to refund yours, there are other games that worth your time.

And the looks, dear god, the looks are Skyrim but worse in some times, the main city looks straight outta a PS3 game, even **** GTAVI FOR THE XBOX looks better than that city.

Then why the 8? If this is a flop and one of the worst games of all time.

Starfield is a beautiful world, probably the best they've ever made, full of life when you decide to go where the map tells you, beautifully crafted cities (except New Atlantis) with lots of interesting stories, NPCs and things to do.

It is been a long time since a story made me feel I was really doing anything because I decided to do it, if you want to screw the Constellation story, you can get lost in hours and hours of high quality content with the seal of Bethesda. This is no different to how I felt when I played Fallout 3 and Morrowind for the first time, and I am glad this seal has not disappeared over time.

Gunfight is pure cream, the enemies might be annoying because the map is separated in levels, but firing weapons feels satisfying, but i gotta say that the mechanics related to modifications of Weapons and armor feels useless, not so different from the Fallout 4 experience.

Characters are alright, every person feels real and has a lot of interesting pieces of dialog, from the characters in Constellation, to that ma'am in the Trade Authority, and the kid that asks you to buy a book about Dragons.

And It's been my first 10 hours of gameplay, and I have a lot to do for the next days.

The RPG experience feels out of a classic bethesda game, haven't felt so Free since Morrowind, it is no Baldur's Gate, but the amount of options and things you can do is overhwelming, it makes you feel like the character you're roleplaying with, which was one of the things I was more skeptical, but ended up being amazing.

And don't make me get started in the potential of mods, just a week after release there's almost 200 mods available for the game, making the experience better and doing what bethesda can't do, and also the power of expansions (which i hope are free thanks to the Microsoft partnership, it's ok to dream).

This game is eternal, it might not be what everyone expected, it is flawed to the core of exploration, but it features a beautiful UNIVERSE and a beautiful experience when it comes to roleplaying, a game that took me back in time to the good old days of Gaming, maybe we are living a new good era of gaming.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I have put plenty of time into this game, because that's what everyone giving glowing reviews to this game says is needed. "You get out what you put in." is what Todd Howard says about the game.

Well, after close to 100 hours between the paid early access and retail release, I've realized that I don't want to put anything else in. In fact, it feels like I've put in thousands of hours into this game, because, essentially, I have. It's the 400+ hours in Morrowind and Skyrim. It's the 500+ hours in Fallout 3, 4, and New Vegas. The point is, this is just more of the same BSG formula with a different coat of paint.

Starfield was 25 years in the making, and you can tell. The same features from 2002's Morrowind are there, except, strangely enough, a map. The same melee attack animations, complete with the lack of any feeling of impact. Skyrim is there in the form of your Starborn powers, aka: shouts. The gunplay feels like it was ripped straight from Fallout 4 and tightened up a bit while they removed VATS.
The visuals in the game range from gorgeous to downright terrifying. For every beautiful space backdrop or amazing planet, there are ghoulish (and not the Fallout style) NPC faces and planets devoid of anything apart from the occasional drab building.
That said, there is definitely plenty to do in the game. Trading, hauling, space battles, piracy, outpost building, the game lets you play it however you want to. The problem is, none of the options feel very fleshed out. The skill tree is vast and has options that theoretically help you in your endeavors, whatever they may be. However, none of the points I invested seemed to make much of a difference. I failed more contraband scans at higher levels of Deception than I did with a single point invested, which seems odd since the skill is supposed to decrease the effectiveness of the scans.

Ship building started off fun, but once you encounter any errors, the fun disappears. Locking parts behind arbitrary skill requirements is fine for an MMO like EVE Online (which is also a two decade old game), but in a single player RPG it doesn't make as much sense. Especially when things like legendary weapons are able to be used at low levels and not get replaced 20+ levels later.

This brings us to one of the main drivers of an RPG, even an open world one like BGS's. The story. It's uninspired. It's poorly written. The illusion of choice that conversations give is meaningless. The whole hook of a multiverse shows how long ago the story was conceived, because the idea is played out at this point. The ending feels like it was written by a fanfic.com writer in 2015, and really only serves as a reason for you to play NG+. This left me feeling unsatisfied, as all of my actions were immediately rendered meaningless, my time spent getting to know the flat, boring characters wasted. Much like my time playing this game.

I expected more, given the hype around this game. I didn't expect simply more of the same. I probably would have loved this game had it come out around the same time Fallout 4 did, because it's on par with that. Unfortunately, Fallout 4 is probably my least favorite BGS game, for many of the same reasons.

TL;DR - Starfield is a great game for 2014, or for people who want more of the same Bethesda Game Studio formula. For 2023, it's not up to par.

After many hours playing this was very big letdown. Many years in development and yet they gave us a barren wasteland. *Loading screens galore. *You take the train hoping it would be doing it in realtime instead its a loading screen oh wait you can just fast travel. Its like no mans sky but horrible.

People who are complaining about the size of the explorable area per planet do not make any sense. Unless we are talking Mario Galaxy I'd say its actually silly to think a game would even be as large as ONE planet let alone a thousand. When I heard the announcement of 1000 planets I assumed it'll be like Jedi Fallen Order/Survivor where you go to a part of it, like a themed level. Also the whole thing about people moaning about not being able to fly a ship from one to another is also silly given the amount of time to realistically do that would take months per journey. And no its not like No Man's Sky as it actually has a solid story and side quests etc. It's a solid game with no issues or microtransactions, if you are on the fence about it try it with Games pass before listening to the trolls.

    Ho messo 3 (teoricamente e' un 6.5) per bilanciare i voti,visto che persone mettono 10 come se niente fosse o 0 .

    Da dove iniziare?
    - Partiamo sui questi meravigliosi 1000 pianeti!
    - Problema principale troppi caricamenti!.
    Non ci siamo.

The only downside I can find so far is that the game lacks in performance. You need a really good GPU/CPU to have acceptable fps. A DLSS mod did make it more playable for me and I'm almost always around 60 fps outdoors and 90 fps indoors. It would however be nice if they implement DLSS natively.
I'm sure they will improve performance over time, so for me so far it is a solid 9/10 game, If they improve performance, it will be a 10/10

    2) Dialogue in true Bethesda fashion is nothing but yes, yes, yes, no (but actually yes). You are completely railroaded into doing every quest in the exact way Bethesda intends, there's very little opportunity for actual roleplaying or creativity.

    3) Quests are again railroaded, often dull, uninspired fetch quests across huge, empty maps. For example a diplomat can't enter the colony due to him lacking a visa, he requests you speak to the "nearby" embassy, que a 2 minute walk to a tram > LOADING SCREEN > 2 minute walk to the embassy > 2 sentence "conversation" > 20 XP. Utterly boring, huge time sink.

In a moment of meta irony I even had a companion point out how sad the plight of the miners was when there was a huge galaxy to explore, amusing given I was on a quest to mine 10 chunks of iron that was dotted about an empty, lifeless rock field.

    4) The maps are empty and lifeless, inhabited planets just feature huge expanses of nothing with the odd interactable NPC dotted here and there. Want to shop? Enjoy 2 minutes of holding down w or the controller stick Uninhabited planets are even worse.

Overall it feels more like a tech demo than anything else. The fact that critics are giving this game 80+ shows that they are all compromised by the "access for good reviews" model.

Poor performance / Low FPS and frequent crashes.

I have a PC with considerable specs, and even though the game recommends playing on low settings, I still experience low FPS rates, fluctuating between 20-35. Moreover, the game frequently crashes, especially during NPC dialogues, and if you forgot to quicksave or the game didn't autosave, it's goodbye to all the progress in that part.

Second thing is that they said in intervies before release that its Open World game, that you can land on planet and explore it all - Now that is a big lie.
This Game is not space game, its loading screen game, where you teleport everywhere. to go from base to quest mission on another planet / or solar system you need to have from 2 to 6 loading screens, depends if you click on map for fast travel or you want to go to ship> to orbit >to another solar system > to planet > to land on a planet... + whenever you want to enter building (most of them) its LOADING SCREEN.

1000 Planets? More like 500.. the rest you cant land on or game gives you random generated building to explore or other atraction - the problem is that after few hours of traveling you seen all of the random buildings and small quests..

There are lots of bugs with companions as well, sometimes they stand on chairs insted of sitting, sometimes they fly from your space throug ship, they stand in wierd positions in dors or shelves or tables.

The last thing (there is more but i dont want to write that much) is bad Optimalization on PC. its 2023, cyberpunk has better graphic and 3070ti can run it on 1440p+FULL RT + Hight details on 60fps easy.

    Starfield? oh boy... Mid/High setting + 1440p + fsr2 = 40-50fps in building to 30fps in cities.
And what Todd Howard said about this optimalization problem?
''MAYBE YOU SHOULD UPGRADE YOU PC...'' - Todd Howard 09.07.23.

But its not 1/10 and no one should give lower mark then 3.
There are bright stuff as well. Its Fallout 4 in space!! Lots of looting, lots of quests, alot of items like armor and guns. Story is fine+. The combat is good even if AI from enemies is bad.

The mod community is amazing as well, in just a day they fixed ui and wierd green color, added dlss that gave me +10more fps, And gave HDR and FOV that was not in game!

Overall i enjoy playing this game and hope it will do comeback in ''No Man Sky'' style.

It's obvious Beth/MS spent very little time optimising the PC port of their game, and I'm VERY far removed from the people that expect NPCs in games to look like they've just competed in a beauty pageant (those people are, frankly, pathetic)...However, outside of the main companions (who are OKish), the NPCs look like something from a 80s era horror movie. As said, I don't expect every NPC to look like they've just strolled off a catwalk, but I do expect them to resemble human beings. This level of poor models, poor textures, poor facial geometry and terrible animations is not acceptable in a current gen game.

So yes.... Starfield does evoke Oblivion, just not in the way most of us were hoping it would.

I suspect there is a good game in there...somewhere... but it won't be worth seeking out until about two years hence, by which time there'll be a more affordably-priced bundle that includes patches and DLCs, and, most critically, the modding community (as per usual) will have had a chance to make Starfield at least halfway worthy of the "professional" 8+ scores it has received.

This cosmic adventure takes players on an exhilarating journey through a meticulously crafted galaxy, offering an unparalleled mix of stunning visuals, immersive gameplay, and a captivating narrative.

    Visual Splendor:
"Starfield" is a visual marvel. The game's engine showcases breathtaking space vistas, celestial bodies, and intricate spacecraft designs. The attention to detail is awe-inspiring, from the gleaming surfaces of starships to the mesmerizing beauty of distant planets. Every celestial body feels unique, with its own ecosystems and terrain, making exploration a true visual delight. Character models and animations are equally impressive, adding depth to the game's immersive universe.

    Boundless Exploration:
At its core, "Starfield" is a sandbox of limitless possibilities. You begin by creating your own character and choosing your backstory, setting the stage for a personalized adventure. The freedom to explore the vast galaxy is empowering, and Bethesda's open-world design shines through. As you pilot your starship through the cosmos, you'll encounter a sense of scale that is both breathtaking and believable. Whether you're embarking on interstellar voyages or engaging in intense dogfights with space pirates, the gameplay is fluid and immersive.

The highlight of "Starfield" is planetary exploration. Each world you visit is a handcrafted masterpiece, teeming with life, mysteries, and opportunities. From ancient ruins to resource-rich landscapes, every planet is a unique experience. The game encourages exploration by rewarding players with valuable resources, lore, and the chance for meaningful interactions with the galaxy's diverse inhabitants.

    Compelling Storytelling:
"Starfield" offers a gripping narrative that weaves political intrigue, ancient enigmas, and moral dilemmas into a cohesive and engaging storyline. The choices you make profoundly impact your character's reputation and alliances in the galaxy. Side quests and activities are abundant, providing a wealth of distractions from the main plot. Whether you're aiding colonists in building new settlements, investigating unexplained cosmic anomalies, or uncovering the secrets of long-lost civilizations, these diversions are often as enthralling as the central narrative.

    In Conclusion:
"Starfield" is a monumental achievement in space gaming, pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the genre. It marries stunning visuals, deep exploration, and a compelling narrative, inviting players to embark on a galactic odyssey like no other. Bethesda has delivered a game that will keep both veteran space explorers and newcomers captivated for countless hours. "Starfield" is not just a game; it's an interstellar adventure that will leave an indelible mark on the world of gaming.

Unfortunately, Starfield has left me feeling bored to the extent that I can't muster the enthusiasm to continue. The game lacks the sense of exploration I was hoping for, and the combat isn't enjoyable. Despite my gaming setup, which includes a Radeon 7900 XTX and an excellent CPU, I've found it to be poorly optimized.

I'm genuinely perplexed by the praise some people have given this game, labeling it a masterpiece or an outstanding gaming experience. I'd be eager to learn about the other "awesome" games they've played to make such comparisons. I genuinely wish I could derive more enjoyment from this game, but I'm finding it difficult to do so because it falls far below what I consider an acceptable level. While it certainly has some nice details and scenic elements, these aspects alone are not enough for me to rate it any higher than 6/10. It falls short of the mark for what I expect from a game, and I believe it doesn't merit a 4/10 rating, but it still has room for improvement.

the game isn't optimized, they've deliberately worsened NVIDIA's GPU performances because Microsoft has a deal with AMD so in turn my 4070TI (which can run other, much better looking games at Ultra everything with RT 4K) can't even break 100 FPS at 1080p, even with DLSS mods (which again they've cut out of the game because it is NVIDIA tech) i'm getting a mid experience fidelity wise.the game isn't optimized, they've deliberately worsened NVIDIA's GPU performances because Microsoft has a deal with AMD so in turn my 4070TI (which can run other, much better looking games at Ultra everything with RT 4K) can't even break 100 FPS at 1080p, even with DLSS mods (which again they've cut out of the game because it is NVIDIA tech) i'm getting a mid experience fidelity wise.

as for the actual game, it is a Bethesda game, it is the same stagnant gameplay loops with some bells and whistles attached.

as someone who admittedly likes Bethesda games i have to say that this space frontier setting doesn't lend itself well to the Bethesda gameplay loop because most of the world is instanced into hubs rather than a seamless open world experience.

for instance in Skyrim we all know that "see that mountain? you can walk over there" trope, in Starfield that same mountain is behind an invisible wall and you need to fast travel there, there are no more landmarks that dot the horizon, all the handcrafted content are in fact copy pasted POI's that you'll find on every planet, all the magic is gone because they've went and procedurally generated everything.

i give this a 0 just because of what it represents: complacency and laziness, "there are over 1000 planets for you to explore!" wow, 1000 planets filled with literally nothing, what a fun premise for a game, please make TES6 just one open world map filled with crafted content and leave the procedurally generated stuff to NMS, please and thank you.

Such great game with Bethesda touch I have never and ever experienced something like this since Fallout new Vegas, Todd howard and his team never disappointed RPG fans, the story and the characters and the freedom of chossing from customizing your character to your ship is insane. Even your story you can customize it. The result is what’s easily Bethesda’s most accomplished title. While nothing Starfield does is truly revolutionary to the genre, what it does do it does so well, and at such a jaw-dropping scale, that after we’d started playing we thought about it every morning, every night, and then it even invaded our dreams.

You begin Starfield as a miner on a remote planet working for a faceless corporation. You’re tasked with unearthing a strange artifact that’s been found on the planet. After touching the item, you experience a strange sensation, like being one with the cosmos. Following this, you’re approached by Constellation, a group that’s dedicated to exploring the wider galaxy and discovering the secrets of these artifacts.
While the tone and scale of Starfield differ from past Bethesda games, the core gameplay is very similar. It’s an RPG crossed with a shooter, where you can build out a character using a variety of traits and skills. Often, this can impact how you approach missions; sometimes, you can talk your way into getting what you want, and other times, you’ll need to fight.focused a lot on my social skills because, much like Fallout before it, Starfield isn’t the most adept shooter. It may look like one, with a huge range of weapons to collect and the ability to play from a first-person perspective, but this is not Destiny. Aiming feels wonky, and oftentimes, shots that seem to hit an enemy point blank will fail to register. It’d be nice if Starfield had the equivalent of the VATS system from Fallout, giving it pseudo-turn-based combat, but instead, it’s just a passable shooter attached to a very ambitious RPG. That might be the reason I spent so many skill points on my persuasion abilities.

Conversation remains a big part of the experience. You spend a lot of time talking, with an up-close view of whoever you’re conversing with. You’ll need to chat with companion characters to get closer to them (while also making sure you don’t do upsetting things, like, uh, murder people in front of them) and others to garner information or get yourself out of trouble. Considering the sheer amount of dialogue, all of which is voiced, it’s impressive just how consistently well-written and acted Starfield is. There are some awkward moments when there are more than two people in a conversation — sometimes a character might not be facing you when speaking, and the cuts between dialogue can feel unnatural — but otherwise, it’s all very convincing, which is good since you’ll be spending a lot of time doing it.

So, while the shooting When Starfield's visuals deliver, oh boy, they really deliver. Global illumination cleverly washes the game in evocative tones that bring alien valleys to life in a way that previous iterations made in the Creation Engine simply could not. Absurd draw distances can make a straightforward mountain climb incredibly rewarding and meditative, flanked by the majestic and hopeful

Starfield is the disappointment of the year. 10 hours into the game and I don't quite understand what the ship is for, apart from the fact that its combat is terrible. The shooting system sucks, and the exploration is extremely massive. Apart from Fallout 76 I don't know if Bethesda has ever made a worse game.

And that is just one of a 100 systems. The graphics and physics are top notch, although there can be some improvements. Music is outstanding and probably the best OST this year.

Most side quests have tons of content and very good stories. The main campaign is interesting and fleshed out. Gameplay is a lot of fun and many times I just get lost in the exploration. And the skyboxes are the best in any game, hands down. I have never felt like I was on another world like I have in this game, it just felt accurate to a good degree.

I have nit picks about improvements: better water physics, space walking and underwater exploration can add a lot to the game (but that's what mods are for).

Overall, this is the game I will be playing for years, and I think many others will do. Hate on this game all you want, but you will have to do it for a long time. Eventually, this game is going to get the recognition it deserves

It runs bad, very bad, you need the best possible PC to run it with good graphics and good fps. It's not like Skyrim or even Fallout 4. I wanted to like it so much, but just had to give up because it is just so boring. I have played Bethesda games since Morrowind was released, sadly I feel like that company no longer exists. On top of these problems, Bethesda's representatives have falsely - in my opinion - advertised this game on game shows and interviews

It was very disappointing to see how game looks stale and old - some game assets such plants/vines in the first city were made 2D, and loading screens hit me hard every minute

Not to mention it's basically unplayable on a Nvidia/Intel rig without mods, And no Todd i don't think I have to upgrade from my 13700k/4080 ROG Strix rig. I think dev's need to stop supporting AMD's terrible solution to DLSS and then blaming the consumer when it doesn't work. This bumps it down from a 7 to a 6 at least for the PC port.

    3. Insultingly poorly implemented AI that doesn't react at all when you point a weapon or shoot near it.

    4. Clunky, intern-level dialog that seems like it was written to appeal to 11 year olds living in the early 90's.

    5. Boilerplate-level questing. It genuinely seems like the developers were given an strong directive to intentionally avoid entertaining the player.

    6. New game plus means playing the game 10 more times except without caring about drops because you already have the best stuff. Except you don't even have a compelling reason to play through the game even once.

A lot of people have spent years deciding they're in love with this extremely mediocre, bland, soulless game and are currently in a state of severe cognitive dissonance.

This game is completely and utterly devoid of the sense of magic and wonder that makes games like Baldur's Gate 3 overwhelmingly eclipse it in sales and review scores. Corporations need to start learning that real profitability comes from respecting their customers instead of intentionally misleading them.

I enjoy the exploration, the shootouts, the art style, the ship building, and the diverse worlds. I gratefully acknowledge the good optimization and the absence of major bugs. In a year dominated by sequels to franchise favorites, there was a hope that Starfield would carve its own path to success. While the team at Bethesda should be commended for taking such a big swing, there’s no denying that the game doesn’t feel like a cohesive work. Maybe continued support and future sequels will make something more meaningful out of a work that is clearly deeply enamored with both science fiction and space exploration. Unforunately, this first launch has had far more mixed results than desired.
