I mean its obvious that they made this game to be an online game which I think is good at being one they don't even show you how to play singleplayer I think they just made single-player so fans can STFU
but I think online is great
online has some problems too such as not finding players and servers even tho it has players and sometimes it says finding x amount of player but it never does

Unfortunately, this attempt failed miserably. Not only was it mired in controversy, but the core mechanics and gameplay are lackluster and leave much to be desired. Melee heroes are difficult and unwieldy with their forced movement animations, gunplay is often interrupted because of the recharging weapon system instead of conventional ammo, battles are most often confined and formulaic with a few strategies leading to victory each time. The classes still do not reflect the classic battlefront feel and are largely unbalanced with certain classes being rendered obsolete on certain maps while others are nearly unstoppable. Heroes too are unbalanced as some heroes have a plethora of ranged abilities that prevent enemies from getting close enough to attack effectively, whereas others have abilities that are largely useless in most situations. Map design is uninspired and even inaccurate at times with the majority of maps being three-lane just like Call of Duty's maps. This leaves little room for creativity and style and forces a type of gameplay that often makes multiplayer boring and repetitive. Star cards are an interesting concept and might have been something good in this mess of a game, unfortunately, the star card system was poorly implemented and is largely centered around small boosts to certain abilities or the replacement of old abilities with new ones. This would have been an excellent idea if the player was not limited to three star cards and ability replacement cards did not count towards this total. In that way, the player would have much more freedom to tailor their experience and play style to their liking which would create new and interesting ways of fighting. Some classes and heroes have appearances which can be unlocked with in game currency earned through leveling up and completing milestones. Through milestones, players can also unlock new weapons for each of the four main classes. These weapons allow for some customization and variation, though not by much seeing as it takes just as long to kill an enemy with a rapid-fire weapon as it does with a triple-burst or single-fire. Sadly, the other two classes have no or very little choices for appearances and no weapon choices. This makes two out of the six classes seem disjointed, not to mention each special class is greatly varied which makes playing different factions a unique experience, but also makes for a sharp learning curve. The Campaign is bare bones and poorly written with predictable stories around every corner and a meaningless narrative that was never actually finished. Overall, this game is fun if you like Star Wars, multiplayer, and maybe a bit of customization, but if you can't overlook its plethora of flaws, you might want to give this one a pass. Expand

In saying that I would add at least another 1 point, maybe more, if you are a Star wars fan, given all the weapons and units and uniquely recognisable characters that become available from that particular universe; it is quite impressive to see that amount of stuff on the same battlefield at the same time -and is quite Epic (not always at same time of course - many maps vary). It is also very well polished, as you would expect from an AAA game.

But without the skins and judging absolutely from merit, it is a decent multiplayer game on a grand scale – because of this scale, it can be hard to see what effect you are having on any particular game – that is my friend and I, felt whilst playing. The focus is on bullet spongey characters, their skills and some how doing enough damage to compete with your team-members to afford to 'buy' a 'force user'(Jedi or Sithlord etc) - although there are plenty of other special units to use, which was good.

The single player was playable and most certainly gives an idea of what some characters can do if you were to use them in the multiplayer theatre and would probably be very interesting to those who like story or are interested in Star Wars.

Multiplayer at times feels unbalanced, then at other times you are doing very well, aside from the guy on the top of the leader board that seems to have a spammy level of kills....All in all I like it, will keep playing and hope more people join online, it isn't a counterstike experience with super fast spawns but it isn't anywhere near Battle Field V, where you die so fast and wait forever only to have to pick who to spawn on each time, or run ALLLLLL the way across the map again for an objective, at least in this game it seems to be 75% faster gameplay overall. To end it, I wish titles like this learned from games like Counter Strike and the success it has, because what people want is not super realism in mechanics and being able to customize all the time, they want environments that are small scale, fast, even if you do have a large map, it should be simple....left and right side of map, try to push one side or the other, or simply team slayer overall, game companies are missing the mark generally by trying to provide what people hate, the same way Halo MCC for PC ruined matchmaking by removing custom server choices, where if you want you can play the same map over and over and over again....that's why on steam their player base is non existent. Battlefront 2 is a game driven by the Star Wars franchise and Star Wars fans. With Battlefield-like gameplay, you can run into battle as a clone, battle droid, rebel, or stormtrooper. With Battlefield-like gameplay, you can run into battle as a clone, battle droid, rebel, or stormtrooper. With vehicles as seen on TV, the game does a good job of balancing planes and tanks versus the infantry. There's four unique classes, guns that feel distinct, and many recognizable maps from the Star Wars movies. Despite Battlefront 2’s glaring loot box problem on release, the game rebounded to become one of the best shooters in recent years. Although the singleplayer wasn’t what fans expected or wanted, the multiplayer easily made up for it. Although support has stopped in 2020, the amount of content was more than enough to have fun in Battlefront 2 in 2020. Many of the problems in Battlefront 2015, such as DLC locked behind a paywall, and annoying hero systems were solved in the new Battlefront. Something that was for sure not a problem in Battlefront 2015 was the maps, which continue to be good in Battlefront 2. The maps are all visually stunning, as expected from any EA game. Unlike a lot of EA games however, the content actually lives up to expectations. One of the most important additions to Battlefront 2 was the fact that the developers listened to what the players really wanted, including new blasters when fresh ones hadn’t been added since launch. Even though lightsaber combat feels a bit weird, the points system to unlock vehicles and heroes is much better than the hero token system of the 2015 version. Heroes and vehicles also manage to balance fun for the hero and the infantry they’re facing, and not upsetting either side of the argument.
The singleplayer, unfortunately, wasn’t what most people wanted. The story starts out with the player playing as an imperial stormtrooper, but quickly goes back to the standard rebel gameplay. A few hero missions are mixed in, but aren’t really that interesting especially the infamous bug-fighting level. Overall, the multiplayer-focused game has a good multiplayer and a disappointing singleplayer, but that’s good enough for most players.

If one team has someone who is not good, that team is going to lose no matter what, because the precision radar allows the game to basically be a 3v4. Also the game mode will oftentimes just become ability spamming where one player will get thrown around like a rag doll as each of the enemies hit them with an ability. Expand

(TL;DR: Too much movie, too little game.)

+ Awesome atmosphere! It's like you are playing a movie!
    + Awesome graphics and sounds!
+ Combat feels and looks great.
+ Canon is followed very well for a multiplayer game.
+ Customization is great for a canonical game.
+ It's a small thing but it helps keep the game enjoyable: Chat is hidden by default so it won't ruin your immersion or your mood in case of a salt outbreak.
    + Spaceship battles!

    - Customization is lackluster for a game in general.
    - Very little player choice! You can't choose the map, you can't choose the side, you often can't even choose your class except for the infantry cannon-fodder because you are either lacking the points, the max amount is already in game or it's not available on the current map/mode.
    - Highly unbalanced! As infantry you will most likely spend most of your time dying to reinforcements and heroes, because they are stronger but cost battle points. But in order to get battle points you need to get kills/assists, so if the enemy player is better than you or has more battle points, for example because you joined later, you will spend most of the match dying in infantry. It exacerbates skill/experience gaps and leads to unfun snowballing like feeding in MOBAs.
    - A few game modes are popular, the rest rarely has enough players..
    - Forced to play in 3rd person view unless you play infantry.
    - Technical issues seem kind of common.

    BOTTOM LINE
For the current low price it's worth giving it a try!

And a few tips to help avoid frustration:

    * Don't solo-rush all over the map, it's a team game and without your team near you, you will get surrounded or crushed by stronger classes all the time.
    * Stick not just with your team, but also with the objective. It can be hard to figure out where the current front line is but it's usually somewhere between your checkpoints (which double as spawn points) and the enemy's.
    * Don't push your luck. In fire fights, get behind cover fast. With up to 20 players pear team, incoming damage can spike hard and you will often get killed by that one last shot right as you take cover.
    * Make peace with the fact that you will probably need to main more than 1 class/character, as not every map, mode and side has all the same ones. When you do that and are willing to enjoy several different classes, you can enjoy the game. You can still make them somewhat unique with star cards to best fit your playstyle.
    * It's a "hero shooter" with classes, characters and abilities. Remember you will need to take your time and learn what all the different abilities and weapons do to understand what's happening.

I have quickly explained, that I can compare Origin Access (and Origin Access: Premier) to Netflix and plenty of other subscriptions, and I found it is an okay value, so I am subscribed. I don't want to start the crash grab multiplayer. I see interesting characters, some good but a bit short campaign, nice story, nice graphics, nice music. It isn't long, it isn't replayable, but it is fun while it lasts. And as it is part of an already good subscription, there is no reason not to play it.

Plenty of good (often non-EA) games at a reasonable price. I will enjoy plenty of games, and would only buy favorites I want to keep, and even then I get a discount... So for me, that sub looks like a good deal and for subscribers this game worths the time spent downloading it.

But I wouldn't buy it for its normal retail price.

Sadly even after two years this game is not good enough the story is boring the gameplay becomes stale after one or two hours and the multilayer still needs a lot of improvements. The graphics were Ok but weren't good enough to carry the game for me. In the end the game is a pretty dull experience and I wouldnt recommend it.

Combar sucks. Weapons feel like toys. Shooting something has noo feedback. There's huge amount of clutter on the screen along with flashy animations.

the perk system is rage inducing. They give HUGE and OBVIOUS advantage to the owner. Some of them buff "spacial classes" to the point where they SLAUGHTER whole groups of enemies without giving any chance of fighting back.

Guys, even for 10$ game ain't worth it. If you want some really good gunshooting mechanic... Just play Destiny 2 or even Fortnite.

I don't care what people say, I like this game. Great action, amazing visuals, being able to play offline, and a semi-competent campaign style mode. whats the backbones of game. ground combat have great maps like hoth or kashyk but if you compare the battlefront 2015 maps like jakku so close counter focused and boring mostly. clone wars have difffrent mods which close to battlefield and old battlefronts but the fail to deliver air vehicles and hangar take off which in the game if you look single player.
story as all dice games its not the best but also not bad like people said its not jedi story more like trooper drama which uses good on vehicles too. there is jedi mission which is good but too bad game not use any sith or classic movie duel storyies. in all com dice games story below the battlefield 3 single but def above the battlefield 4 and battlefront 2015 was not have single.
arcade in this game amainz es with mods. there is ton of mods like skyrim chaning game many diffrent ways battle of endor to comic book star wars or even have split screen support. offline section suported in new patch greatly to like instan action mode.
ABOUT LOOTBOX. funny thing is loot or box whatever in this game never be issue bcouse there was like almost same as battlefield 1 or old battlefield upgrade packs the thing was progression was bugged and if you dont get good on game make you punish kinda bcouse heros like vader cost goodamount of progress or in gamecredit. in all the story everyknow know not have any loot but is this things change no. vader unllocked freely or reduced heros ans skins count but in all in battleffont 2 if you finsih the game with 1 or 2 kills or no objective play you still need good amount of time to unlock things es cars which everybody using epic cards you become lesser. but in all if you was batllefied player or old battlefront player and make your kills like 4 or 6 and playing objective even in start you exprience not make you think oh **** the game. it was overrated by media and fans. for ex unlucing vader was took 10 matches maybe if you are medium player which vader is hero not the actual battle thig area. like in battlefield the solders here in the key. there was more bigger issues like heacy class bomber like abilty wipe everyone ass when firing like death star. but as youu see non player or media not know that bcouse ı guess they dont play like 5 hours something as you expecting. overal better than battlefront 2015 but some of things from bf 2015 still stay decent textures or weaponry map like sulust or jakku . bf 2015 sadly dlcs have sparate servers make harder to find onine. the same media gives bf2015 no loot game 6 its no expecting they give bf2 more than 7 which for 7 battlefront dam low score if you think game touch all star wars.

Battlefront II offers a gameplay that I have noticed not very comfortable and very improvable, with a lousy stealth and nonexistent coverages.

Now, i have picked the game for about 25$, because i kinda liked the previous title, and mainly ignored the 1.1 user review score that was given here.

Now, more than 200 hours into the game, i guarantee you that this game doesn’t deserve the huge backlash it received, for a number of reasons.
First of all, this is not the first nor the last game to use micro transactions. In fact, after the new progression system patch, the game has become the only game i know that you can access fully without having to pay a dime. (Free DLC - where can you find that?)

So with that said, ill explain what are the pros and cons from the perspective of a CASUAL gamer, cause if you are a competitive type of feller, i am afraid that you will be better avoiding the game, or trying to understand that it isn’t meant to be a competitive shooter of some sort.

    First of all, the multiplayer.
There are plenty of modes, that some of them may appeal to you and some may not at all.
For example, i never play the Starfighter mode, simply because i dont like it, not because its bad or anything.
There are other modes, bigger and smaller, such as Blast which is basically team death match, Galactic Assault which is biggest one, and simulates a battle between two enemy factions based on different objectives for each map. Its a very dynamic mode.
Another new big mode which is my favorite, is Capital Supremacy, which i will not get into details of, but check it out cause its cool.

Also a favorite of mine, are the Hero Showdown (which is great if you have a friend willing to coordinate attacks with you) and the Heros VS Villians modes, which are very casual fun modes (pretty unbalanced, however) that shine because of their accuracy to the SW movies and are very appealing to people who like the SW universe of characters, and lets you play as iconic ones such as Obi Wan, Vader, Palpatine and etc. in a sort of power fantasy manner.

Overall the multiplayer modes are very nice, fun, lore accurate and chaotic while calculated, even if somewhat unbalanced and a bit buggy, which makes the game not very appealing to hardcore gamers,

The gameplay has improved drastically over the last title, and is appropriate for a triple A shooter however it may take some getting used to.

There is also a campaign mode, that i would look at as a nice bonus for the true Star Wars fans who will appreciate a nice cameo of an iconic character here and there. The story won’t win any awards, but is nice to have,

A huge pro that this game has is its visual aspect.
Now, say what you will about EA, but they sure do know how to make their games look fantastic.
Search for photos and you will understand what i am talking about; all the models and assets are near 100% accurate to the movies and look even better than the CGI from Episode 1 , for instance.
All of this while performance is great, i have a graphics card from 2012 which runs the game on almost max settings and a stable 60 fps, and loading screens have been improved and are now very short if you have a decent CPU and an ok hard drive.

I think that by this point the game has a lot of content, with a lot of maps, heros, and modes, and the game’s biggest con is the poor balancing in some of the modes. Also, despite the fact that the game received overall decent support since it’s launch, there are some things that could make the game a far more appealing experience, such as private matches, that are being asked for a long time and yet to be added. That is why i am conflicting with myself how i would rate this game, because on the one hand, it’s a really impressive and most of all fun game, but on the other it lacks some things that could make it a lot better.

It is worth saying that as far as community goes this game has a relatively large and nice community and 2 great community managers that do everything they can to bridge between the dev team to the players, which is worth pointing out.

The game costs currently around 7 USD, and for me it was worth my 25$, so watch some gameplay and do what you will.

Language support is only by region dependence. I would like to pick a language of the game I play. Subscriptions instead of buying a game... No refund... And BUGS, a lot of them. For instance, during the downloading of the game, there is an arcade mode which was suggested for playing, and I could not enjoy it, because it crashed almost always. Some characters have not modelled completely, like Obi-Wan in the default skin, whom hand just fly inside of the robe on the preview screen, when you pick a character. Disaster. Long loadings screens, lack of players. This game lear value worth nothing and should not have been released at all. Expand

Holy crap this wasn't worth the $12 I spent on it... there is no ability to turn on raw mouse input. It starts at FOV in tunnel vision mode. The menu screen WONT SHUT UP! Then to top it all off it still has the long in the tooth problems of frost bite, the sound engine is still absolutely horrible and vault pathing is laughably bad.

Now to the gameplay... I guess the republic was dumb enough to send troops into battle without side arm, there isn't any... If there is its tied to a cool-down, yes a cool-down... Then you have the Jedi which are what I can only describe as immortal. I don't even care about how crap the micro transaction stuff is; this is, at its core, a bad game. You name a problem with game play and this will have it somehow... I hate myself for buying it, I even contacted EA to try and have the remove it from my list, they wont. Ill give it a bar out of pity for at-least being a game that someone is being forced to make update for...

Thats a clear massage: Start as soon as we release overpriced, overhyped game or grind for weeks as an underdog and get owned by people who not only knows maps and mechanics better but also outgear you and outlevel your abilities... I was full of optimism when i started multiplayer, but its unbrearable, unfun experience. Constantly being owned by enemies who happens to always have topped deck. After few days i give up. The leveling of stuff is to slow and 99,9% people that kill me shows max levels. I could stand being outplayed by people who knows game better, having months or years headstart, but combined with their superior stats of their guns and abilities i just cannot enjoy it.

I dont know how it was before. How strong was the p2w and how messed up user experience was back then, but today it feels like abandoned, dying game that they made a big promotion for, to lure and milk just a bunch of more players (condemned to being underdogs and meat for the veterans), as some stupid form of rehabilitation in eyes of the veterans to feel better.
Grind was much longer before? I cant imagine anything longer than there is now. Not for new players, who get stuck with default s**tgear and are thrown to fight veteran players. What feels like throwing pebbles even if you headshot a lot, and get fired back with a freaking battleship's cannon. Irritating, frustrating, demotivating - those words best describe new players' experience in Battlefront 2.

Also the 40player battles are unoptimised and some maps are unneccesarily heavy on the CPU.

Also boring, uninspired campaign that feels to long when you play it. And after you realise how bad MP is for new players, you realise why the campaign was that long. It just contributes to the 24h game time you have to ask for refund.

It have its moments tho, and being mix of battlefield and SW universe deserves some extra points.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I bought this game for 5$ at Origin Sale and its not even worth this. MP is just a mock to make you feel you are participating great battles, but when you turn off all those fancy "behind map" effects it turns to be one big hollow with few players on the map. So i went to play campaign and only prologue was enjoyable., but simple beyond measure. Battle of Endor was boring, only at landing pad there was some action, but again it was extremely hard to die there, only possible by leaving Iden in the middle of the pad for 30 sec. Dauntless - was annoying as hell, and almost unplayable with mouse. i was literally crashing on every turn on some space ships. No mention that it took me dozen of deaths to land at rebel spaceship since game give you no clue what to do in the hangar instead of just pressing button like in original Battlefront... The Observatory made me quit - indoctrinated spec ops guy just walks along Jedi, and speak like old friends .. was that a joke DiCE? Game spent more time on downloading than me on playing it. Expand

Everything that's been said about this game I agree with. In fact, there is nothing new that I Personally can bring to the table. I'm only giving my rating to show my hatred for EA and this game, and to show that I too will not accept this business strategy. It's time to boycott EA fellas.

Awesome graphics, sounds and the game really get the characters right! BUT the campaign just gets too repetitive with boring missions, waves of enemies and the same shooting over and over again. Almost through I was so bored that I couldn't bother to finish. The last Sith mission is SO boring as well.

    Good :

    - graphics
    - Star wars universe
    - action

    Bad :

    - too little liberty with the frustrating message : "go back to the gaming area"
    - the spaceship driving with a keyboard is a nightmare
    - too repetitive

Anyways, this review is a continuation of my Battlefront 2015 review.

Anyways, by that retarded logic, the retarded stereotypes made by the braindead retarded cumchugging pedophile Americans in a vocal minority about anime and manga would make every creator, even respected ones like Ghibli because of their "merchandise" and some retarded haters online sell their merchandise or have difficulty doing so because of a retarded vocal minority's stereotypes a "Fallen Creator" even though they are instead examples of "Creator Worship" like Square Enix is. Now lastly, they brought up Square Enix's view of the popularity of their games, Square Enix's view of the popularity of their games is factually that Final Fantasy is wildly successful overseas and in Japan where their target audience is since Square Enix is in Japan. Dragon Quest wasn't as successful in the West overall as it was in the East for awhile. That's perfectly fine and it's a fact their fans know that as well since Japan is their target audience and localization takes time. Dragon Quest xi especially took awhile and it is considered by Square Enix but more specifically Dragon Quest fans to be a masterpiece and is another thing especially more recently Square Enix is positively known for. That's a fact. there may have been a time where they weren't AS well liked but as a company they were always generally well liked by their fans, the public and haven't ever "fallen out of public favor" and that's a fact. They've always been a good company and that's fact, despite the mistakes they've made. Lastly was that Kingdom Hearts was especially popular in Japan but especially as well in the West and that the series is a pretty considerable success. The retards named "tropers" attempted to say that it's a series that has a "Kudzu Plot" and that that apparently makes the fans not like the series even though the facts point to the opposite and that complex story or not, it's a well liked series. And Kingdom Hearts doesn't have a "Kudzu plot" either you retards and that's fact, Tetsuya Nomura made the decision to make the most complex story he is able and make it work, not Square Enix. It's a pretty complex story but it has no "Kudzu Plot" and that's fact. Also, trope-speak is retarded cancer, it's like listening to a retard after he injects heroin into his balls. Square Enix though as well as the Bravely Default Team were overwhelmed by the sheer amount of positive fan feedback and it lead to Square Enix considering to make more games similar to Bravely Default. That's an extraordinarily positive fan and company relationship. Not to mention Square Enix made games like The World Ends With You which gave them a pretty considerable amount of additional respect as well. They helped PlatinumGames work on Nier: Automata as well and that gave Platinum Games as well as Square Enix even more respect, Square Enix as well decided not to have any DRM for their games. Lastly the development hell for FFXV doesn't change anything honestly, yeah it's not the masterpiece it was thought it was going to be but it's a pretty great game either way, the development hell there was divisive but not genuinely negative for Square Enix at any rate and that's fact. The fact it managed to be a pretty great game despite the development issues speaks volumes by itself. Also no matter what some retarded braindead cucktards on a retarded cumchugging pedophile website like may say, Square Enix is factually a good company, they are factually considered a good company, they are factually generally well liked by their fans as well if not worshiped by their fans, they factually have always been in the favor of the overall public, a vocal minority of braindead American retards don't matter at all in an actual reputation and that's fact, they factually haven't ever fallen out of favor with the general public and they factually won't ever, they clearly haven't and you can tell by looking at the sheer positivity and positive feedback of their fans as well as their constant overall support and they are well liked by the public or not "out of favor" with the general public, not necessarily liked or disliked. Square Enix though is a good company, is in favor with the public and generally pretty well liked by their fans and that's all fact. Everything I have said here in response is fact. Disagree and you are factually wrong and retarded, I speak the truth about retards.

Also there is not "Star Fox knockoff" or "Space Invaders knockoff" in Nier: Automata and it's not too inconsistent either and that's all fact, even though knockoff or the word knockoff doesn't necessarily indicate anything negative. Nier: Automata is a masterpiece as well. As are games like Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts 2 and likely Kingdom Hearts 3 will be. Virtually every Kingdom Hearts game is pretty excellent though actually.

Everything that I have said in response in this review is fact.

Apart from the great Starfighter Assault mode Battlefront II is a mess of conflicting ideas, uneven mechanics and of course questionable monetization practices. DICE is facing long months of salvaging the game and the studio’s good name. [01/2018, p.32]

Even the tinsel of the Star Wars world cannot hide the silly story and the boring singleplayer gameplay, or the necessity to accumulate the credits in the crate hunting in multiplayer. Battlefront II pleases as a genuine shooter in the beautiful scenery, but EA should deserve a slap into the face for their mad progression system.
