    I like this game and EA shows reaction! People are complaining about everything! It is very dumb judging this game only by micro transactions. There was no "real" pay to win and you aren't even forced to buy credits with your real money. So get over it and stop bashing a game without even testing and getting an objective opinion!

    After the Launch Disaster and the following Backslash I can really recommend the Game. At the Current Time they removed all Lootboxes, balanced the Progression System and also released some new Heroes, Maps and other Features while also working on future Updates for at least the Duration of 2019. Altough I can't forgive what they tried to do on Launch to the Community I can now say thatAfter the Launch Disaster and the following Backslash I can really recommend the Game.     I think this is a nice game. There is a lot of maps and game modes. I love Heroes vs Villains. Graphics is beautiful. I've never had a problem with connection to the servers. Now, microtransactions are over. There is only cosmetic boxes which doesn't have any effect to the gameplay. All heroes are available for everyone, not like at the release of the game.

    whats the backbones of game. ground combat have great maps like hoth or kashyk but if you compare the battlefront 2015 maps like jakku so close counter focused and boring mostly. clone wars have difffrent mods which close to battlefield and old battlefronts but the fail to deliver air vehicles and hangar take off which in the game if you look single player.
    story as all dice games its not the best but also not bad like people said its not jedi story more like trooper drama which uses good on vehicles too. there is jedi mission which is good but too bad game not use any sith or classic movie duel storyies. in all com dice games story below the battlefield 3 single but def above the battlefield 4 and battlefront 2015 was not have single.
    arcade in this game amainz es with mods. there is ton of mods like skyrim chaning game many diffrent ways battle of endor to comic book star wars or even have split screen support. offline section suported in new patch greatly to like instan action mode.
    ABOUT LOOTBOX. funny thing is loot or box whatever in this game never be issue bcouse there was like almost same as battlefield 1 or old battlefield upgrade packs the thing was progression was bugged and if you dont get good on game make you punish kinda bcouse heros like vader cost goodamount of progress or in gamecredit. in all the story everyknow know not have any loot but is this things change no. vader unllocked freely or reduced heros ans skins count but in all in battleffont 2 if you finsih the game with 1 or 2 kills or no objective play you still need good amount of time to unlock things es cars which everybody using epic cards you become lesser. but in all if you was batllefied player or old battlefront player and make your kills like 4 or 6 and playing objective even in start you exprience not make you think oh **** the game. it was overrated by media and fans. for ex unlucing vader was took 10 matches maybe if you are medium player which vader is hero not the actual battle thig area. like in battlefield the solders here in the key. there was more bigger issues like heacy class bomber like abilty wipe everyone ass when firing like death star. but as youu see non player or media not know that bcouse ı guess they dont play like 5 hours something as you expecting. overal better than battlefront 2015 but some of things from bf 2015 still stay decent textures or weaponry map like sulust or jakku . bf 2015 sadly dlcs have sparate servers make harder to find onine. the same media gives bf2015 no loot game 6 its no expecting they give bf2 more than 7 which for 7 battlefront dam low score if you think game touch all star wars.    … Expand

    The game is not so bad, with the recent updates the p2w system has finished, the graphics are really good, but sometimes you can have too much lag, even when you are playing in campaign, which it has an acceptable history with the interactions of several vehicles and heroes of Star Wars.     This game is so much better than the previous one. It has breathtaking graphics, funny multiplayer, lot of maps and characters, updates. It's not the good ol' Battlefront 2 (2005) but it's decent game, that i enjoy playing. :-)

    I first picked up BF2 from Origin at about mid 2018.
    By this time, the loot box controversy was addressed and all of the P2W elements were replaced by a new progression system.
    Now, i have picked the game for about 25$, because i kinda liked the previous title, and mainly ignored the 1.1 user review score that was given here. Now, more than 200 hours into the game, i guarantee you    I first picked up BF2 from Origin at about mid 2018.
    By this time, the loot box controversy was addressed and all of the P2W elements were replaced by a new progression system.
    Now, i have picked the game for about 25$, because i kinda liked the previous title, and mainly ignored the 1.1 user review score that was given here.

    Now, more than 200 hours into the game, i guarantee you that this game doesn’t deserve the huge backlash it received, for a number of reasons.
    First of all, this is not the first nor the last game to use micro transactions. In fact, after the new progression system patch, the game has become the only game i know that you can access fully without having to pay a dime. (Free DLC - where can you find that?)

    So with that said, ill explain what are the pros and cons from the perspective of a CASUAL gamer, cause if you are a competitive type of feller, i am afraid that you will be better avoiding the game, or trying to understand that it isn’t meant to be a competitive shooter of some sort.

    First of all, the multiplayer.
    There are plenty of modes, that some of them may appeal to you and some may not at all.
    For example, i never play the Starfighter mode, simply because i dont like it, not because its bad or anything.
    There are other modes, bigger and smaller, such as Blast which is basically team death match, Galactic Assault which is biggest one, and simulates a battle between two enemy factions based on different objectives for each map. Its a very dynamic mode.
    Another new big mode which is my favorite, is Capital Supremacy, which i will not get into details of, but check it out cause its cool.

    Also a favorite of mine, are the Hero Showdown (which is great if you have a friend willing to coordinate attacks with you) and the Heros VS Villians modes, which are very casual fun modes (pretty unbalanced, however) that shine because of their accuracy to the SW movies and are very appealing to people who like the SW universe of characters, and lets you play as iconic ones such as Obi Wan, Vader, Palpatine and etc. in a sort of power fantasy manner.

    Overall the multiplayer modes are very nice, fun, lore accurate and chaotic while calculated, even if somewhat unbalanced and a bit buggy, which makes the game not very appealing to hardcore gamers,

    The gameplay has improved drastically over the last title, and is appropriate for a triple A shooter however it may take some getting used to.

    There is also a campaign mode, that i would look at as a nice bonus for the true Star Wars fans who will appreciate a nice cameo of an iconic character here and there. The story won’t win any awards, but is nice to have,

    A huge pro that this game has is its visual aspect.
    Now, say what you will about EA, but they sure do know how to make their games look fantastic.
    Search for photos and you will understand what i am talking about; all the models and assets are near 100% accurate to the movies and look even better than the CGI from Episode 1 , for instance.
    All of this while performance is great, i have a graphics card from 2012 which runs the game on almost max settings and a stable 60 fps, and loading screens have been improved and are now very short if you have a decent CPU and an ok hard drive.

    I think that by this point the game has a lot of content, with a lot of maps, heros, and modes, and the game’s biggest con is the poor balancing in some of the modes. Also, despite the fact that the game received overall decent support since it’s launch, there are some things that could make the game a far more appealing experience, such as private matches, that are being asked for a long time and yet to be added. That is why i am conflicting with myself how i would rate this game, because on the one hand, it’s a really impressive and most of all fun game, but on the other it lacks some things that could make it a lot better.

    It is worth saying that as far as community goes this game has a relatively large and nice community and 2 great community managers that do everything they can to bridge between the dev team to the players, which is worth pointing out.

    The game costs currently around 7 USD, and for me it was worth my 25$, so watch some gameplay and do what you will.    … Expand

    I now this game is not start good but DICE never give up on this game and finally it's a great game. DLC's are so good and all of them are free, game mods is great and fun, graphics are spectecularly good. After 2 years later this game worth your money now.

    Probably one of the absolute best star wars games af of today (2020) , and if you're a fan like me, you're in for a blast!

    I don't care what people say, I like this game. Great action, amazing visuals, being able to play offline, and a semi-competent campaign style mode. It can feel repetitive at times, but I'm fine with that. If you play it just an hour or two at a time, It won't be repetitive. Overall it is a pretty good game.

    I have quickly explained, that I can compare Origin Access (and Origin Access: Premier) to Netflix and plenty of other subscriptions, and    Friends started asking me to give 10/10 to this game, the 10/10 "it isn't warcraft 3 reforged, so 10/10 way". I said no. I said I have played this game and I am willing to give a fair review. They were surprised and asked why I have played the game?

    I have quickly explained, that I can compare Origin Access (and Origin Access: Premier) to Netflix and plenty of other subscriptions, and I found it is an okay value, so I am subscribed. I don't want to start the crash grab multiplayer. I see interesting characters, some good but a bit short campaign, nice story, nice graphics, nice music. It isn't long, it isn't replayable, but it is fun while it lasts. And as it is part of an already good subscription, there is no reason not to play it.

    Plenty of good (often non-EA) games at a reasonable price. I will enjoy plenty of games, and would only buy favorites I want to keep, and even then I get a discount... So for me, that sub looks like a good deal and for subscribers this game worths the time spent downloading it.

    But I wouldn't buy it for its normal retail price.    … Expand

    After a rocky start 2 years ago I'm glad to see Dice was able to put effort into reviving this game with exciting additions and completely overhaul the progression system so if you never had the chance to play or refused to play I recommend to get this game now!

    Comentario: Mesmo não tendo assistido aos filmes, consegui me situar na historia após algum tempo de gameplay.
    Não joguei o multiplayer, sendo assim, e EA e seu "mercenarismo" não impactam muito bem essa nota.

Personalmente no me he gastado ni un euro en este juego (a parte del juego en sí) y lo disfruto tremendamente.
    - Esta teniendo un soporte bastante bueno en cuanto a mapas, personajes y modos de juego.

    This game has certainly redeemed itself since launch. The game constantly has new updates that adds content that only makes the game more engaging and fresh. The combat is sleek and the many classes (especially for the clone wars era) are all fun in their own way. If you want a game that makes you feel as though you are in major Star Wars battles, then this is the game for you.

    на релизе игра была говном с кучей лутбоксов и казино рулеткой. но сейчас игра вполне неплоха. купил за 400р и не жалею. в сетевую наиграл довольно много но да, надоело. сюжетная кампания просто супер. частые обновления завозят много интересного контента. сейчас игра в разы лучше чем на старте и ЕА дейстивтельно стараются, на фоне близов с новым варкравтом. по этому я поднимаю оценочкуна релизе игра была говном с кучей лутбоксов и казино рулеткой. но сейчас игра вполне неплоха. купил за 400р и не жалею. в сетевую наиграл довольно много но да, надоело. сюжетная кампания просто супер. частые обновления завозят много интересного контента. сейчас игра в разы лучше чем на старте и ЕА дейстивтельно стараются, на фоне близов с новым варкравтом. по этому я поднимаю оценочку этой игре… Expand

    At the launch of the game it was terrible: lots of pay-to-win, bad controls. But now, after 2 years they changed a lot: no more pay-to-win, very comfortable controls and interface, new interesting content. For original 2005 game fans recommended

    I love this game. Don't mind the micro transactions either. Best is that you can have maximum on all graphics settings on such an old game. Looks beautiful. May the force be with you!

    The game has grown since its initial launch back in November 2017. Battlefront 2 has gotten much content that has helped the game grow.
    It has become an enjoyable multiplayer game for star wars fans like my self. Its also gotten cheap and is often on sale.

    P.S Don't bother with the campaign its trash

They've fixed the micro transaction issues, there's at least 10 - 20 hours worth of co-op gameplay leveling up all the characters. There's a little bit of flexibility with the loadouts with some of the cards letting you swap abilities on spawn leading to adaptive gameplay. There's also aThis game is wicked hot.     Really fun game ruined by greed. If EA seriously addresses the progression and loot box BS the game is an easy 8.5/10. They took out the MT system right now but still didn't remove stupid crap like time gated Arcade mode where you can only earn 500 credits every 24hrs. What the fudge?

    I would have given it a little higher of a score, the microtransactions were BS (wonder if they'll come back with just cosmetics as it is in the game, but hidden/taken out, not that I support that idea of cash for that as well), but glad they took them out for the time being, yes there is a bit of a grind, but there is a ton of fun to be had in the game.     Im sad that Metacritic become same dump as Steam Reviews. If you look on negative reviews, all were made in day of release or even before and they all scream "pay2win sux". Yes it does, but they removed it, so people should remove or change their review.

    As I said. If you are SW fan, buy this game. It can be bought now for 40euro which is definitely good price for 8 hour Star Wars interactive movie.

    On the negative
    - Graphics look about the same (which means they look great) yet seem to require better hardware (so maybe this is a negative). Prior to upgrading my video card SWBF2 did not perform as well and SWBF yet when i upgraded my video card and play at max setting I can not see the difference in improvement.

    - Seem to be less ambitious with the various multiplayer modes. Gone are the blended modes that mixed space flight with ground action.

    - The drama from the gaming community is worse than the thing they are complaining about.

    EA and Star Wars is just a hot button topic for the gaming community. But this mob mentality and complaining about greed and "evil" publishers has simply gone too far. You can simply ignore the microtransactions and eventually everyone will have unlocked the most impactful upgrades so its sort of a moot point.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I like the changes they made to Battlefront I and I don't feel it's a "pay-to-win" game, you're not required to pay any additional cent and can still unlock everything.

    Most heroes are unlocked by default and some have to be unlocked for in-game credits you earn by playing multiplayer, arcade or campaign.
    Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker for example can be unlocked for 15.000 credits which is the most expensive price heroes can have, others cost 10.000, like Chewbacca or Emperor Palpatine.
    Roughly after my first 10 matches in multiplayer I would have been able to get Darth Vader for what I earned, yet I did rather purchase Trooper Crates instead since I get to use Troopers all the time.

    You can purchase ingame "crystals" for real money, which in turn can be used to purchase Loot Crates ingame, yet they can be purchased using credits you earn by leveling up your overall rank, completeing milestones(achievments), playing the arcade or playing the story campaign.
    Especially in the beginning you will accumulate big amounts of credits fast for the lower levels are reached faster, the typical milestones (achievments) like "Capture an objective in a multiplayer map." will give you credits as reward as well.

    Other than purchasing crystals, which can be spent on the 3 different types of Loot Crates "Trooper Crates", "Hero Crates" and "Starship Crates" there is nothing else you could possible purchase with real money and these can be earned by playing as well, that's why I don't feel microtransactions make up an important part of the game.

    To move the focus away from flaming about microtransactions here are some details about the actual game:

    There is a short story campaign, which will ultimately leave you behind thinking about what's going to happen next in the upcoming movie in decembre 2017.
    It is a linear story starting during the last of the original trilogy from the '80s - Return of the Jedi - and ending after the most recent one from 2015 - The Force Awakens.

    The actual game, multiplayer, features several different gamemodes, which are:

    Galactic Assault (40 Players): Battle on a series of team-oriented, objective-based maps. Visit iconic locations, pilot favourite vehicles, choose from among four trooper classes, call in special units, and be a hero.
    Starfighter Assault (20 Players): Two teams of pilots take control of fighters, bombers, interceptors and hero ships and engage in multi-stage, objective-based space battles.
    Blast (20 Players): Blast invites players to leap into fast-paced, close-quarters combat.
    Strike (16 Players): Two teams of eight players compete in objective-based scenarios.
    Heroes vs. Villains (8 Players): STAR WARS' greatest characters pitted against each other in a four-on-four team battle.

    There are plenty of new vehicles you didn't see in Battlefront I and even some rideable creatures on some maps, no more pickups spread across the map instead you need to earn battlepoints throughout the match, by killing opponents and playing the objective, which can be used to spawn as a hero, special unit or in a vehicle.
    I felt the heroes are a little less powerful than they used to be in Battlefront I, or harder to play, rather.
    The Separatists and their droid army are now a playable faction including their vehicles.
    The one thing I was missing most of all in Battlefront I is now included: Master Yoda!

    The other playable heroes are:

    Bossk
    Chewbacca
    Darth Vader
    Emperor Palpatine
    Han Solo
    Iden Versio
    Kylo Ren
    Lando Calrissian
    Leia Organa
    Luke Skywalker

    Each of them can be equipped with up to 3 star cards once you unlocked them by opening Loot Crates.

Shooter experience needs to be revamped to match that of iconic shooters such as CoD and Battlefield. But of course. EA will never listen to us. They will continue to release more good games like this then completely screw them up with stuff like micro transactions. This game had potential to outdo all the previous battlefronts. EA had that chance, and screwed it up. Still buy the game, as most of the negative ratings are still based off of the micro transactions and paywalls, which have been removed, and since unlocking heroes takes only 4 hours instead of 40, this game has become much more bearable for me.… Expand

    Update: Just finished the single player campaign, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Captures the Star Wars feel for me! Loved it! Increased review score from 5 to 8.     I'm really enjoying the game. It's gorgeous. Servers are full and it's quick to join. The campaign is fun. Pay to win is gone. Why all teh negative hype for a fun game. It's also 40% off. Worth it at that price for sure.

    This doesn't lay at EA's feet alone. DICE needs to shoulder some of this as well. EA says: "Have MTX so that your game has some long term revenue sources." DICE is who designs the system.
    EA doesn't have anything to do with that other than saying "It should have MTX." There's a significant amount of engineering and design behind the star card system, it's not like EA can just shove it in there. It's unfortunate that those who don't actually know what it takes to fund, make, and sustain these games we all love so much had to go and tarnish the great reception that awaited this game. Rather than outright boycott MTX because it exists, provide feedback on what you'd like to see in the MTX instead. The free DLC and lack of a season pass far outweigh the cost of players buying loot boxes. Like it or not, MTX is necessary for a healthy and thriving games industry to keep producing the hits that you crave. (cosmetic or otherwise.)

    World of Tanks, Football, Hockey, and Soccer Ultimate Teams, Battlefield 4+... where was the outrage then?! Just because it's a beloved franchise like Star Wars? You all think it's YOURS, and you OWN it? Please stop parroting what you're hearing about gambling, unlock times, the death of the industry and all the noise out there. Sit down, strap in and enjoy the ride

    Great game. I have a lot of fun playing it. Graphics are amazing and almost breathtaking. Game runs really smooth as well. Singleplayer campaign is little bit too short but otherwise it's fun to play with interesting new characters. Looking forward to new FREE maps coming in next months. #HatersGonnaHate

    Beautiful Star Wars game. Much better than Battlefront I (2015). Hate on SWBF II is only because of microtransactions (which EA is working on). But I measure only gameplay, graphics etc.-things which were made by DICE, Motive, Criterion & Lucasfilm not by EA.

    Did all those wo gave 0 to the title tried the game?I tried the origin access 10 hours trial and i bought it, the game is good, better than battlefront 1, is funny and visually sutnning.MIcrotransactions?Who care about them,do you cry when playing soft air and your enemy has better equipment just because he can afford that and you not?Use the force and you will not need any star card.

    Один минус всеже есть,это система поиска сетевых игр,очень жалко что нельзя выбрать на какой карте сыграть,я надеюсь что EA добавит настройки выбора карты).По поводу баланса не могу ничего сказать,но если в 2015 заработать адекватный k/d было очень тяжело праворукие или просто хорошо устроившиеся игроки выносили в лет и потом снова через полкарты беги,здесь k/d куда выше и заработать его проще,хотя конечно снайперы достают и здесь.Я только начал изучать эту прекрасную игру,но меня в ней гораздо большее радует,чем в предыдущей,хотя и в предыдущую я наиграл немало. It's simply one of the best multiplayer shooters out there and a lot better than BF1, what was very boring.     Actually I don't care so much with the pay2win aspect, because you can get all the items without paying aswell. It can take some time, but to me personally thats feels like a nice progression. It would have been really bad if you can buy items which are not obtainable through playing, but that's not the case.

    The fact that lootboxes are random for me as player is fine and fun, I actually like it (it's like drops in World of warcraft), you either be lucky or not. But the randomness for people who pay for it, is bad design I think. To be honest if it was to me, I would say cosmetic items only aswell by the way, don't get me wrong.

    I bought this game after they got their microtransactions removed (for PC it was only €45 via instant gaming cdkey). I wanted this game anway because it looked so badass and the beta was great fun!

    I did not play the campaign yet, so can't judge on that. But the Multiplayer honestly is amazing. Haven't had so much fun for years playing a game. I really regret that I bought CoD WW2 last week, because this is so much better. I refuned battlefront 1, because it just didn't do it for me. But this one deserves a solid 8. Could be a 9 if they fix some minor bugs, add leaderboards, stats for all weapons. But this could be added in the feature probably. The many content right now is already amazing, and free DLC is coming aswell.

    I really think if they come back with the microtransactions to be pure cosmetic only, this game is really good.

    And although I really understand that EA screwed this up, I think you should give the people from DICE who has delivered this game a second chance. But that's up to you ofcourse, I don't regret it :-)

    I'm not a fanboy or anything, just a casual gamer who really enjoys the expericence so far!

    I actually think the weapons - which you don't need the crates for - are more important than the star cards, and the weapon grinds are particularly brutal. That's one area where EA could have clearly made the game "pay to win" (by allowing you to buy the guns) but they didn't. Everyone really needs to calm down about the transactions. I doubt any of these complainers have actually played the game. If they decided to try it before bashing it they'd probably discover that it's actually pretty fun.

    It's clear that if you want to get the most out of your experience you'll have to spend a good 100-200 hours with this game, and that's even if you also chose to spend the equivalent of a season pass or two on the crates. Big whoop. If you're having fun who cares?

    It's a shame to see such an over-the-top, immature, and frankly, a borderline libelous reaction from these reddit nerds. These are the kind of people that hate fun of any kind and log on to reddit to gripe about EVERYTHING. Pathetic.

    It's an arcade shooter, not a large, conquest based FPS like Battlefield. Appreciate it for what it is: a sometimes mindless but ultimately enjoyable online multiplayer action game.     This game exceeds all expectation for me. Not only is the game well-balanced but the loot crates provide a new fun way to gamble.     EA continues to set the standard for quality. Star wars battlefront II is a masterpiece, easily the best game released this year, it's all about the graphics, the graphics are beyond words, so realistic and beautiful, the gameplay is simply amazing. The lootboxes really add value to this game, it's so exciting buying them, really adds to the experience.

    I like this game and EA shows reaction! People are complaining about everything! It is very dumb judging this game only by micro transactions. There was no "real" pay to win and you aren't even forced to buy credits with your real money. So get over it and stop bashing a game without even testing and getting an objective opinion!

Now I completely agree with that, but people should be wiling to retract their bad reviews if it was fixed. Battlefront 2 is an amazing game that really brings me back to playing BF2 for the PS2.     Amazing gameplay. When you pay $60 it FEELS like the best damn $60 game I've played this year. The Star fighter battles are amazing. The progression system is a little too gated, but the star cards are a better approach to abilities, and the micro transactions are a trade off for the season pass.

    This game is awesome, if you are a Star Wars fan, you must play this game. Graphics are awesome, campaign is decent, but epilogue is epic! Multiplayer is EPIC AF! I really recommend this game^^

    Amazing game, extremely fun. Too much bashing on the game around the micro transactions system. Recurring revenue is extremely important. You may bash EA for it, but more is coming for you from other developers, its just a matter of time.

    EA could literally remove the whole system and make the game be totally fine, and you would still see posts claiming that it'S fake and EA is trying to trick you.

    If you're looking at reviews for this game to decide if you should take the chance and buy it, you won't find anything useful.

    90% of reviews here on metacritic are either hatetrain **** or from people who have not even played the game at all and are just trying to keep the fire going. Because in the end, the game itself is great - But nobody cares about this.

    My first impressions are pretty good, campaign sucks as expected, multiplayer is fast paced and fun.
    Unlocking heroes and star cards has been very quick for me without using a dime of my money on the crates.

    Overall the single player is good and the game is really fun but the progression system is crap. There is going to be a lot more maps characters and campaign levels added and ea are trying hard to correct their mistakes.
    Just play the game. If you like starwars you will like this.

    Beside #CrateGate is SWBFII a really good game. The graphics and sounds are one of the best I have ever seen. The Multiplayer is fun as always and even offline players get a good campain and an arcade mode for a little extra challenge.

I get that micro-transactions are a bad practice and shouldn't be in video games, but to review bomb because of it isn't a good practice either. All it's going to do is make people not be able to trust reviews. There are better ways to show EA that the loot box system needs to be removed from games. Remember most games that have loot boxes for sale are still charging for DLC. This game is at least giving all the DLC for free. Almost all of the stuff you get from loot boxes is also locked behind progression, even star card levels are directly tied to in game progression. You can't spend money to max out your character. Also as of now they completely removed the micro-transactions. I also don't understand why people are saying its gonna take forever to get all the characters, i have them all and i got them in less than 10 hours, and no i didn't buy any loot boxes.     This is really sad that all of negative opinions came from a un-grown child which are didn't even play the game and just cry the river about "having to spend some time with a title to unlock a content which they didnt have to pay EXTRA for it in a DLC";
    They are chil children which should be cut down from internet access...

    Great game, graphics, launch day performance and connectivity was solid. fast loading... I really think they did a fantastic job here. I'm about 5 hours of play in on multiplayer and couldn't be happier.

    The haters are ignorant, probably don't have actually have or have played the game.

Everything is done great. Campaign, Arcade Mode and Multiplayer, only thing i miss is Galactic Conquest. GG EA

    Much like the first modern SWBF, SWBF2 looks and sounds amazing. The graphics are very detailed yet the game runs smoothly on a middle-of-the-road PC. The music has been improved to feature more of the classic Star Wars score, making the game feel much more alive than the previous entry.

    Multiplayer matches are your standard Battlefield fare. Compared to the Battlefield titles, the weapons mostly have a lower fire rate, but the time-to-kill is roughly the same. The map design, while asymmetrical, feels balanced. Unlike Hoth in the previous game, the maps do not end up in one-sided fights and the spawn points don't dump you directly into the line of fire. The controls for flight have been touched up, with the semi-autopilot from the previous game completely gone, making dogfights and space combat much more skill-based.

    As of this review (written at the end of launch week), there don't seem to be any weapons or abilities that absolutely dwarf the others in power. Every weapon and ability has its tradeoffs. Abilities can be upgraded to be more effective through the crafting system, which feels slow and random. That being said, the time-to-kill in this game is so quick that the abilities hardly seem to give you an edge. Good map awareness and tactics from a new player will beat an optioned-out run-and-gunner 9 times out of 10.

    The campaign, while short, features a compelling story with decent characters. If you pick up the game, it's worth a play-through. I won't spoil anything beyond that.

    All in all, SWBF2 is a solid game that highly improves on the first game. I've had a lot of fun playing so far, and I have not felt punished for not buying lootboxes.

    The Politics:

    Frankly, I am worried about this game's future and the hype machine surrounded by it. Yes, EA's lootbox system is technically P2W because paying players can get power faster than non-paying players. I think they absolutely need revamp the lootboxes to remove P2W items and include fun non-gamechanging items like you see in Overwatch and CS:GO. However, the impact of the P2W system has been blown out of proportion IMO. It's nothing like those old Nexon games where you get destroyed by whales.

    The impact of the P2W stuff is very similar to that in Battlefield 1, so if you could tolerate it in that game, you can tolerate it here. The fact that EA is making last-minute changes to their years-long project means that the pressure on them is real, and there is a chance we will see them forego the P2W stuff entirely.

    To those that would love to play this game if not for the P2W mechanics, I urge you keep an eye on this game and see what EA decides to do in the future. If the small amount of P2W makes this game absolutely not worth it, I totally get it. But don't rob yourself of a good experience because the Internet hype machine says so.    … Expand

    Battle front is actually a great game and is totally worth the high price it’s multiplayer is better then the multiplayer in call of duty ww2 (all so a pretty good game) and is almost as fun as csgo multiplayer. Also the single player is one of the better single player experience.

    I really loved this game, so much! :) I got it for Christmas from my parents in 2020, for 19EURO, the DVD Box version. The DICE made a very great job, down with the hat, my appreciation! :) Awesome, incredible graphics, great atmosphera, the music, the sounds and the story, everything was great! :) Thank you so much for this game! :)

    Now that the drama about the loot boxes is long gone, people should accept that this is the best SW multiplayer game around. The locations, characters, vehicles and weapons are great representation of the movies and even the short singleplayer campaign is fun! There are still some heroes missing and other details could be improved, but nevertheless it's a great SW game!

    Great game for the price ($0 on Epic). Love the fact that there's no loot crates or any of the pay2win nonsense that resulted in all the low reviews on launch. Too bad it wasn't like that at launch, but it's great fun now, especially progressing on multiplayer (usually in co-op mode). Haven't played PvP, but that's not really my thing... too many aimbots.

    Apart from the great Starfighter Assault mode Battlefront II is a mess of conflicting ideas, uneven mechanics and of course questionable monetization practices. DICE is facing long months of salvaging the game and the studio’s good name. [01/2018, p.32]

    Even the tinsel of the Star Wars world cannot hide the silly story and the boring singleplayer gameplay, or the necessity to accumulate the credits in the crate hunting in multiplayer. Battlefront II pleases as a genuine shooter in the beautiful scenery, but EA should deserve a slap into the face for their mad progression system.
