    Прекрасная игра в плане визуала, сюжета, но отвратительная оптимизация не даёт многим насладиться ей в полной мере. У меня же работает довольно неплохо.

    I got the game on the 12th of November, so it already had some patches aboard. Anyway, I have an AMD gaming PC but I had 0 problems with the game. I run it on High settings (Ultra textures and ultra lightning) on Vulkan. Have no stuttering, i have 40 hours ingame but I encountered NO bugs and NO crashes, ZERO. Don't know what's the fuss with the negative reviews but this game is aI got the game on the 12th of November, so it already had some patches aboard.     The lack of professionalism of Rockstars is absolutely crazy.
    More that 2 weeks after release, the game still randomly freezes and crashes.
    Keyboard layout not recognized, quest bugs, crashed, freezes, crashes, bugs, repeat.. No SLI support. No actual support from Rockstars support other than links referring to support the page you're coming from... To make things worst, Rockstars    The lack of professionalism of Rockstars is absolutely crazy.

    I'm running this bug pile from a M2 ssd powered by a I9 9900k, 32gigs of ram, a GTX1080ti installed on a z390 Aorus master motherboard.

    Releasing a game in this state is absolutely unacceptable. There's been ZERO Q&A!

    Просто отвратительная оптимизация) В первый день релиза запустить не мог из-за ошибки лаунчера. Ладно, это пережил, ровно через сутки пофиксили, обновив лаунчер, и выпустив патч. Были установлены драйвера нвидия, специально заточенные под игру. Запустилось, все более-менее сносно игралось, после длительных пребываниях в разделе настроек графики.,были подобраны оптимальные настройки. ДалееПросто отвратительная оптимизация) В первый день релиза запустить не мог из-за ошибки лаунчера. Ладно, это пережил, ровно через сутки пофиксили, обновив лаунчер, и выпустив патч. Были установлены драйвера нвидия, специально заточенные под игру. Запустилось, все более-менее сносно игралось, после длительных пребываниях в разделе настроек графики.,были подобраны оптимальные настройки. Далее нвидия выпустили свежий драйвер, который, добавил порядка 5-7 фпс. И Тут-же рокстар анонсировали патч. Обрадовавшись этой новости, оставил игру до следующего дня, в надежде на добавку еще пары фпс. Как оказалось позже, надеялся я зря, данный патч отнял порядка 10 фпс, т. е. игра стала работать хуже, чем на релизе. К счастью с фризами и вылетами особых проблем не испытывал, поэтому порывшись в настройках графики, и снизив еще некоторые пункты, получил терпимый фпс, и продолжил проходить дальше. Далее выходит еще один патч, думаю, ну теперь может добавят чуть-чуть производительности, либо вернут те фпс, что, отняли с прошлым патчем. Не тут то было, вместо оптимизации, порезали дальность прорисовки следов на грязи, и появления таких объектов, как, дилижансы, и тени от них, при этом снова сбросив все настройки по дефолту, и самое интересное, что на фпс это никак не отразилось, зато появились какие-то мерцания текстур. Поэкспериментировав вновь с настройками, игра и вовсе перестала работать, после загрузки просто черный экран, хотя звуки и управление работает. Сразу напрашивается вопрос, за что, я вам отдал 2500р., за бета тест? Каждый ваш патч, делает и без того плохо оптимизированную игру, вовсе неиграбельной. В будущем ваш продукт по предзаказу брать точно не стану, пока не буду уверен, что, продукт оптимизирован как следует… Expand

Теперь игра идет даже на core i3 2120 + rx580 на средних настройках с ультра текстурами и высокими тенями в стабильных 30 fps с Vsync 50%, без него 60 fps в лесах и полях, а в городахЯ вас не понимаю. Теперь игра идет даже на core i3 2120 + rx580 на средних настройках с ультра текстурами и высокими тенями в стабильных 30 fps с Vsync 50%, без него 60 fps в лесах и полях, а в городах ниже 25 не проседает. Игра забивает все ядра и потоки процессора на 100, это очень хорошо поймите же. Сюжет игры интересен и медитативен. Если вы смогли поигратт или посмотреть полностью прохождение Death Stranding то RDR2 будет казаться быстрее чем раньше когда все играли в нее на PS4 и не допроходили до конца. Эта игра заслуживает 10/10, она по всем параметрам обходит все игры мира уже вышедших. Не будьте злыми, оцените игру правильно не смотря на разные ошибки на ваших ПК, я уверен что проблема в том что вы пытаетесь запустить игру на стареньких видеокартах или сборках в общем.     Great game, but unfortunately I will still be recommending against it due to Rockstar's greed and incompetence. The game is plagued by constant bugs and glitches that take the experience to a 10/10 to an 8/10 at best and I'm not sure if those are exclusive to the PC version or not, but what I can tell that is exclusive to this version of the game, is the fact that it's a God awful portGreat game, but unfortunately I will still be recommending against it due to Rockstar's greed and incompetence.     After (not?) playing this for a month, I'll give everybody the lowdown. The game ran fine for me on a 10 yr old EVGA SR-2, looked great, ran in 2K off the bat and is a fine immersive sim.

Admittedly the first two verticle slices were great, after then it all falls apart. The scripting gets lazy, the quests repetitive and rushed. All aspects of the programming and subsequent de-bugging feel fatigued. 6 @ best. Hate to say it, I think I'm done with Rockstar... seriously - Kingdom Come was better, just like Mafia 1 is still better than all GTA's.    … Expand

    Игру нормально не тестировали. Очень низкая производительность даже на хорошем железе. Нормальный компьютер и 60 фпс? Забудьте. Самый отвратительный порт на свете. Брать не советую.

    Incredible game and a great port. Works beautifully for me in every way. Plenty has already been said about the game, simply put it's a masterpiece.

    No clue what all the complaints are about, I've never had a single issue with the game or launcher and I have a mediocre gaming pc. If you haven't played this game, don't hesitate.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game could be awesome, but instead it's a clusterf**k. The law enforcement system has the law show up so quickly you are penalized for playing an outlaw. You can't really rob anyone unless it's a gang mission, your gang missions send your bounty through the roof...oh yeah, and you can't actually win a gunfight with bounty hunters or lawmen until you are at least 20 hours into the game. You're also supposedly part of a gang, but you can't take anyone with you unless it's a special mission, so with the law system so ridiculously johnny-on-the-spot you can count on dying against impossible odds over and over again until you can, 20+ hours into the game, hold your own.

    Now let's talk about game play, which is also a total f**cking disaster. The cover system is horrible, the supposedly improved dead eye system is even worse than the cover system, and your enemies take between 2 and 10 shots each to die. Literally, the game will show people getting shot, dropping, and then getting back up like they're some kind of zombie. Meanwhile if you show much as pick up a splinter you're a goner. Add to this a ridiculous health tonic system that transforms you from being the wimpiest gunfighter in the West into the Terminator (able to shrug off dozens of rounds of gun fire), and you have to wonder what Rockstar was smoking when they put this together.

    The truly crowning achievement is that they manage to do all of this while delivering a graphically gorgeous game with a compelling story. Although, even the story needs work as it becomes abundantly obvious early in to the game that you either need to leave the gang and take as many people with you as you can (which you can't do) or murder Dutch (which you also can't do).

    And finally, the other problems. First of all that you can't quick save. That's right, once a mission starts you're screwed if it breaks. And they break all of the god damn time. There are also several graphics glitches, although these at least are minor and don't break the game. All-in-all, it seems to me that Rockstar had a great idea but a poor plan, which lead to the inevitable piss-poor execution. If you haven't been suckered into buying this game due to all of the good reviews and hype, do yourself and favor and save your money.    … Expand

    A truly amazing game. Stunning graphics and extraordinary graphics make you feel as if YOU were in the Wild West. The game had a tough release following lots of freezing which put a lot of doubt into people however since the problem has been conquered, the game is now where it should be. Very realistic game with a fantastic storyline. The storyline grabs hold of the player and interestsA truly amazing game.     Мне понравилась эта игра. Как обычно шедевр от рокстаров, Мне нечего сказать против этой игры. От GTA5 сильно отличается, чтобы кто не говорил. Ковбойский онлайн мне тоже по душе.

    За все 83 часа не было ни одного вылета. Оптимизация нормальная, r5 2600 4.2ghz + rx 578 1350mhz стабильные 50-60 на высококих в 1080р. Дебилы пытаются запустить игру на своих 4 ядра 4 потока и 1050ti, а потом жалуются "а почему 30 фпс на минималках эыыы". Да, в первый месяц после релиза были проблемы, но потом исправили, не понимаю почему    Графика: 9.6/10. Сюжет: 9.1/10. Оптимизация 8/10.

    For anyone that is listening to all the BS people have spouted on here bringing this rating way down, ignore them. I have an older i7 2600k with a gtx 1070 and the game runs perfect. Sure, it took them a couple weeks to get it ironed out but BIG DEAL. This game is simply amazing and deserves top honors. Easily one of the best games ever made.

    One of the best games I've played. Loved the game like I loved the first one. The game has a great story in a very detailed world and atmosphere. Sights are eye candy. Long and absorbing gameplay.

    Completed the game in 2020, always up-to-date, first half on a 1660 Ti laptop and second half on RTX 3070, performance and optimization were optimal, never had any upsetting consistent bugs. I    One of the best games I've played. Loved the game like I loved the first one. The game has a great story in a very detailed world and atmosphere. Sights are eye candy. Long and absorbing gameplay.

    Сука, я купил игру за такие бабки, она должна быть идеальна. Перед тем как поиграть я проверял игру на целостность, но это нихера не помогало. рокстар говорит, что проблема на стороне пользователей и рекомендуют сделать банальные вещи, которые логически нихера не помогут проблеме!
    Я пытался позвонить в рокстар и сообщить о том, что они ублюдки, но увы. Абонент не абонент.
    За 3200 я взял себя в руки и пошел решать проблему! сука, чтобы поиграть РДР2 я потратил 3200 и свои силы для решения проблемы.
    Хочу вернуть себе деньги за эту игру, но похоже поезд ушел.
    Я не потерплю к себе неуважение и скотское отношение, которое я увидел в свою сторону от рокстар.
    И своими гребанными тониками вы не задобрите меня.

    Я не могу передать мою ярость в этом отзыве. Рокстар, просто, иди на хер!

    рдр код ошибки 21001001 и ему подобное. ( ругается на сервер)
    а знаете как решил? я подключил интернет напрямую в комп. без роутера. ( я не знаю причину ошибки, возможно старые протоколы в роутерах или еще что-то. Теперь когда я сажусь играть, приходится выключать роутер.)

Unfortunately, it does not run flawlessly, and hasn't since launch. It runs and I can play it, but having a 1 second freeze every 10 minutes or some little bug breaks the immersion constantly. And if happened you're disconnect for some reason to main lobby, don't bother to go in game, just restart it or you gona have infinite loading bug almost for sure.

    This game has huge potentional, but R* probably decided to ignor all community complaints and play dead bug. Looks like all major game developers last few years have same goals - to be worse then the other company.    … Expand

    Red dead 2 Online est basiquement vide. C'est répétitif et aliénant.
    Cripps : livraison
    Distillerie : Livraison (ça rapporte moins de monnaie et c'est punitif au point que si une roue sort de la route, on perd automatiquement une bouteille) Collectionneur : Gameplay "Balade" et "découverte" ... ennuyeux à mourir. Chasseur de prime : ça c'est cool mais c'est à l'image du jeux : Vide et    Red dead 2 Online est basiquement vide. C'est répétitif et aliénant.
    Cripps : livraison
    Distillerie : Livraison (ça rapporte moins de monnaie et c'est punitif au point que si une roue sort de la route, on perd automatiquement une bouteille)
    Collectionneur : Gameplay "Balade" et "découverte" ... ennuyeux à mourir.
    Chasseur de prime : ça c'est cool mais c'est à l'image du jeux : Vide et sans interet. La prime des bounty n'est pas annoncé avant et on gagne pas plus de 15 dollars par bounty. D'ailleurs, ceux-ci ne sont pas palpitant (se rendre à un endroit, tuer tout le monde sauf la prime, repartir, livrer la prime)

    Ce que nous voulons dans le Online c'est des missions scénarisé d' Attaques de Diligence en groupe de 7-8, des attaques de trains en groupe, des attaques de banques.

    Pour l'instant le jeux est vide et répétitif. ET SURTOUT IL EST REMPLI DE BUG !

    I am hater of GTA series, I really couldn't understent why people so love it but rdr2 is different, world is living, characters have layers, shooter mechanic are good. Best game I have played for 10 years, it's a big game in all conditions grafics is amazing, story amazing, game design is amazing etc

    I can't even get past how incredibly bad the Rockstar Launcher is. I will never buy another Rockstar game again. It wouldn't matter if this game was the best ever made I still won't enjoy it because of that invasive, buggy hunk of garbage.

    Also, not being able to play while offline is complete garbage. Rockstar has become the worst company in gaming.

    Even months after release, i can't play more than 1 hour on this game before it crashes for "memory issues" even though, I have all the latest drivers, and recommanded specifications to run the game.
    Also, the game is to be honest boring, but maybe, if I could play it without interruption, my review wouldn't be the same. This game is a shame due to the crashes, lost 60$.

    I've never played a game where you can feel the love, care and attention more than in Red Dead redemption 2 (only equaled by The Witcher 3). It's a WORLD, human, warm, bitter, exiting, calming, tense and immersive.

    3. Controls and interface... I can write a doctor thesis on that one, but I will be short. They created it for consoles and gamepad, they did nothing to adjust it to pc players, nothing. It is as painful as trying to it cactus. Activate - E, take - P, take something else - TAB, interact - hold right mouse button and then press something else on a keyboard, etc. The list is indefinite. The same goes to interface and navigation in it, you can try to use mouse there, but god protect you from touching any button in the process including the mouse wheel, it will forget immediately about mouse input and will switch to something

    The game looks atmospheric, a bit too much cutscenes and a bit too slow character with huge inertia, like I am controlling a huge ball and not a person with legs, a bit too much enemies and too easy shooting but it could be a good experience IF IT WAS PROPERLY SET UP FOR PC GAMING    … Expand

    Если бы можно было поставить 11, я бы поставил 11. Игра - шедевр из десяти, а нытики со своими RTX, которые жалуются на оптимизацию просто клоуны. Игра была пройдена на rx5500xt и райзене 5. Ни одного вылета, ни одного бага. Шедевр.

    The game is a masterpiece.
    Arthur Morgans Story is really intense, the gameplay is very well done, and it's one of the most beautiful open worlds we got so far. The NPC behaviour, their daily lifes, it's really fascinating.

    Lovely. A gem on any platform.

    Just got this, now that I can actually own it, and it's not what I expected but still a great game. It's certainly story rich but like others have said very double minded main character and gang. These are criminals doing criminal acts but we are constantly presented with the idea that these people and the main character are actually good people, what? We've seen this since at least Asphalt Jungle, making the bad guys to be good by checkerboard kabbalistic-masonic satanic principles. Another aspect is that "it takes a village" witchcraft communism in full bloom. Such nice family of criminals, sure. It's not real or honest, criminals have some positive aspects but they are overwhelmingly evil in real life regardless of braying bribed or ignorant crowds in elite cases. Let's just have either overwhelmingly bad or good, this ambiguous kabbalistic in between is devious. Dislikes first.
    ---Another aspect I did not like was the sim chores of taking care of your character and his horse, guns etc I can see the GTA San Andreas influence here, along with some GTAV. It detracts from the gameplay and is not fun for me, thankfully there are trainers that can negate all this stuff for those not into the grind.
    ---The controls take a bit of getting used to and I didn't like the whole gun storage aspect, if I equip a handgun and some sort of long gun I want those to be available anytime, I don't want them to be put onto the horse so I have to remember to get them. In battle it's annoying to find that I don't have the weapon I want because the character put it on the horse and didn't automatically take it again when I got off!
    ---The camera is ok most of the time but really gets in the way in battle, and the character controls get way too laggy slow when trying to get out of dodge. This is also true of horse controls which are not too good, too sim for me. AC odyssey got them right and TW3 did ok as well, but this game isn't nearly as good there. I feel like the matching trot never truly works and was always fighting with it. Give me a toggle one button medium trot and a further button for full speed, no tapping!!
    ---Character walk and run are pretty slow but that's kinda the way it is, it's an adjustment going from fast cars and automatic weapons from GTAV to this.
    ---The default graphics colors are washed out and there is no gamma adjustment only brightness, so it's either washed out or too dark. Who wants to risk screwing up a 117gb install for reshades? Happened for me with a seemingly simple GTA4 reshade which forced me to reinstall, but no way risking it on a game that takes 3hrs to install. More built in reshading/color options should have been included.
    ---Graphics settings options are way too much but I'd rather have that then only presets. PLEASE we want adaptive vsync!!! This makes another huge game, AC Odyssey run smooth for me on mid range laptop 980m. Not an option in this game, nor does ncp have it. Apart from that it runs well and I can get it looking decent at med/low settings in 1080p, .75 scale, around 50 fps average on vulkan win7. Although it's amazing how awesome theHunter COW looks so much better with much more details and higher settings 60fps vsync on the same system!
    ---Getting to that I wasn't hugely interested in the hunting/fishing aspects of this game either, if you really want an awesome hunting game get theHunter COW which is amazingly beautiful and has several maps that make up 200 sq miles of playable areas. Much prettier game and more focused.
    --I played using a gamepad and I think that's the way to go, kbm would be a chore.
    ---The star of all this to me is the open world old west gameplay which is a rarity on pc. I love the exploring aspects, the random events, just the ability to go anywhere and camp and a decent if vulgar main story missions mixed in. The world is pretty for sure and full of mystery.
    ---MODDING really makes this game shine, thankfully RS made this game like GTAV which makes replaying missions and even perhaps new modder made mission packs a possibility. Look at Skyrim, Fallouts, etc and the longevity they have by loving modders, excellent. That makes gaming a true joy really.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I play this game over so many hours and i really enjoy this game and this is what i like about this game
    - The game story is so good that i never skipped any cutscene, and character development is really good
    - Really like the protagonist Arthur Morgan (for me, he is the best video game protagonist for now) as he develop from rude and jerk to somewhat nice but still a jerk at times
    - The realism in this game is so awesome. I know some people hates the slow pacing in this game such as grabbing something has animation for it but i really enjoy those thing, giving me some sense of immersion
    - The world is so beautiful and well crafted i enjoy it by exploring the entire world and something unexpected may happen sometimes that keeps the game more engaging to play
    But of course, i giving this game 9 for a reason
    - The opimization for pc is sooo baaaad, before the patch running this game in vulkan always crashing my game
    - The epilogue area is somewhat more empty and got nothing to do than the rest of the world
    - The shooting mechanic is somewhat borrowed straight form GTA V, fells clunky at times.

    This game is simply amazing in all aspects, from a picture perfect open world, to its gun play and of course its incredible story which will keep you playing the game for hours. The open world is full of life and places you can explore and interact and the story really is perfect. But you definitely need a good pc to run the game.

    It runs buttery smooth on my 2070 Super at 1440p, no complaints here about optimisation (as a side note just turn off tree tessellation and it will run smooth) I’ve not been this wowed by a game since the Ocarina of Time on the N64. This game and the Witcher 3 are the best games    Utterly breath-taking and amazing game. I'm about 50 hours in and only covered about 30% of the game so far.

Жаль конечно, что у маленькой инди-студии rockstar games не хватило ресурсов на озвучку.
    Анимации хоть и сделаны качество, но очень долгие и шарится в поисках лута это настоящее испытание к счастью деньги тратить не на что и спустя часов 15 я перестал искать лут, а просто покупал всё в магазинах.
    RDR2 это сплошные рельсы.. заскриптовано до смешного просто ты даже не можешь на полметра повернуть, когда нпс тебя куда то ведет или вот ещё пример была миссия спасти девушку из нашего цыганского каравана. Я всех убил мне надо подойти и развязать её, но в доме разбросан лут и я не могу его подобрать потому что я обязан прямо сейчас развязать её или была перестрелка где на наше цыганское братство напали и в определённый момент мне нужно немного отойти назад т.е игра прям говорит тебе отступи вот туда и я никак не могу убить бомжей с которыми справляюсь как нефиг делать потому что меня по скрипту убивают из-за того что я не отступил и причём пару раз подряд меня убивали через стену и таких примеров можно приводить очень долго.
    Надо отдать должное RDR2 действительно красивая, но нужно понимать, что подавляющая часть мира пустая. Также в отличии от GTA в RDR2 открытый мир хотя бы есть и не служит исключительно декором.
    Я даже не знаю, что сказать про геймплей.. Кат сцена > 10 минут скачаешь из точки А в точку Б > тир > кат сцена > 10 минут скачаешь из точки А в точку Б > кат сцена > 10 минут скачаешь из точки А в точку Б > тир > кат сцена > 10 минут скачаешь из точки А в точку Б и это геймплей "одной из лучший игр в истории".    … Expand

    And using two launchers, Steam and Rockstar Games is disgusting. Not only takes data to Rockstar, but also takes A LOT OF TIME to run the game. There is no problem when you ran version from the internet.

    10 out of 10, incredible atmosphere, great directed, art design propably best ive seen in video game,on i7 4790k 16gb ram gtx 6gb on medium /high settings ~ 45/60 fps and game feels smooth even on forty.

    Игра запустилась с первого раза и не разу не вылетела, пару раз упал фпс до 60. Получаешь истинное удовольствие от управление мышью а не геймпадом.    Лучшая игра 2019 (по моему мнению) стала еще красивее и четче в 100 фпс на высоких настройках(1070 и I7 7700).Ранее прошел ее на обычной пс 4 .
    Игра запустилась с первого раза и не разу не вылетела, пару раз упал фпс до 60. Получаешь истинное удовольствие от управление мышью а не геймпадом.

    В чём смысл публиковать фейковые системные требования и выпускать игру с ошибками и наихудшей оптимизацией с которой я только сталкивался в своей жизни? Мне кажется, если бы группа энтузиастов сделала эмулятор за 3 дня и попыталась запустить на нём RDR2, то у них бы получилось куда лучше.     The game has s**t controls, is completely unstable, and fails in almost every aspect. What's worse is, it's based on the GTA engine, so the cheats that work for GTA are pretty much guaranteed to work for this, and you've already got plenty of cheaters in the game.

    Rockstar is a f**king stupid company. I will not be buying another one of their games, and would advise others to steer clear of them as well. They're trying to give EA and Bethesda a run for their money.    … Expand

    Awesome game, awesome port, everything works fine for me.
    I got no problems so far, well, decrypting after preload for 1,5 hours was a pain in the as but who cares, the game works fine.

    This game hardly qualifies as a game. It is more an interactive animated movie. What's worse you need to keep your "W" key depressed while watching. I do not buy into the, "It's a fantastic game spoiled by a few technical glitches", story, rather it is just terribly boring. When I want to play a game, I want to be doing **** not watching a C animated western with a little of input from me.This game hardly qualifies as a game. It is more an interactive animated movie. Игра выглядит потрясно, играется так же. Нареканий нет, игра десятилетия, игра поколения.     this is worst optimization even worst than any other developer, i cant use my mice at stable selecting horse menu and my pc is burning while fans are screaming for pity...this is future of gaming spend money to get ****

    This game surely has some pc issues now, but overall it is great.
    How can u score low for this game. Guys, do you really prefer **** by EA, Ubi, Act-blizzard?
    This is one of a kind game and i hope rockstar will continue creating such game in future.

    Well I'm very glad to say, as far as I'm concerned, there hasn't been a bump in the road yet. The game has run smoothly from the first time that I launched it. There have been no issues at all, no crashes. The game looks great, with moderately high settings. Admittedly, I have only played two hours, in Story Mode. Most people who've had problems were saying they'd had them right from the start, though. But maybe it's different if you play Online -- I wouldn't know, because I don't care at all about online play.

    Exactly what I'm running :
    Windows 10 Home, 64 bits.
    Core i7-4770.
    16 Gb of DDR-3 RAM.
    1x ASUS GTX-1070 Dual.
    My Mo-bo is a proprietary Acer piece of garbage. (My whole setup is based on a prebuilt PC that I tricked out. It involved making myself a custom adapter for the weird 12-pin power-supply connector, and switching the power-supply out for a 550W unit to power the GPU. It's a bit frankenstein-ey but it works. And the prebuilt unit was pretty cheap for the parts it contained...)

    I installed the latest Nvidia drivers before I ever ran the game, and you probably should too. Software-wise, I should also point out that I'm not running any special anti-virus protection. Just Windows Defender has always been plenty for me. Also, in case that's ever relevant, I bought the game from Rockstar Games Launcher directly.

    Once the game started, I did have to "Alt-Tab" my way to a pop-up window asking me to set an exception in Windows Firewall for the game -- The game didn't stop running, but as I saw it flash by, I figured I might as well go ahead and allow it right then and there. Then it loaded fine, I adjusted the gamma setting, and I was on my merry way !

    Game settings :
    1920x1080 @ 60 fps
    V-Sync on.
    I went with what the game recommended. Most settings are on "High" -- some are on "Ultra", some are on "Medium". I did decrease the water physics a bit, and upped some other things that I can't remember now.
    Crucially, I disabled motion blur (which has never been worth it in my book), and MSAA (because why would you) but I did allow FXAA (it's lightweight and makes a difference for me).

    I would say that the game keeps up a good 60 fps, and it certainly never dips below 45. So for my money, this is waaay more than playable -- it's gorgeous, it runs smoothly, and so far, I love it.

    I wanted to share this because the ever-dipping meta-critic user score on here today had me worried. People seemed to be saying that it was an awful PC port, that it was unplayable, or ridden with crashes and unfixed bugs. Well so far that has not been the case for me. As for the optimisation I don't know what the issue would be. This game's graphics, with the settings I'm running, is at least on par with the other games I run on my setup, with similar graphics settings. I'd even say it looks better than, say, AC Odyseey or Witcher 3. So Maybe the lesson here is : have realistic expectations. Maybe you won't be hable to run this at a 4k resolution, with everything on Ultra, with a GTX-1060. But your setup can be a little out-dated (as mine is), and it will still handle this beautifully. Of course, I don't know what it looked like on consoles, maybe by running these modest game settings, my game looks no better than the console version. But I don't have a console, so it's still worth it for me to play this game.

    To sum up : somewhat out-dated hardware, no special software hacks. Latest drivers. Game runs like a charm at a reasonable framerate, with reasonable settings, and is very enjoyable. For me, that's a 10/10. For now.    … Expand

    My biggest warning to anyone considering purchasing RDR2 on PC is that you need to have patience when you set it up. Take the time to go through each graphics option, compare your performance on Vulkan vs. DirectX 12, and tailor the game to your specs. Once you have the game tuned, there’s no better way to experience it than on PC.
