    I registered on MetaCritic just to warn you. Wait at least a few months. The PC version is so so very broken. It's not just that there's one single bug, there's layers of different bugs causing CTDs, awful performance, graphical features that don't do anything, and all kinds of graphics errors. You can roll the dice and hope you get lucky, but unless you're in a rush, just wait.

    $60 for Launcher that can't launch the game without crashing. No fixes, no help, no game. Well done Rockstar. Should of waited for the Steam release.

    Optimized? For what? And if that wasnt enough graphic problems and the most annoying mouse / keyboard implementation ever. Constantly being forced to press the right mouse button to not miss hints or conversations? Thank you. I was so hyped. And no refund...

    I created an account to post this. I've been waiting years to play this game, especially after RDR1 didn't make it to PC. Took me 3 hours to get into the game with launcher issues. Game stutters and freezes every few seconds. Can't save. Had to re-do the same mission several times already due to crashes. WTF kind of decision is it to make it so that you can't save for over an HOUR ofI created an account to post this.     Bad PC port way too many bugs and feels unoptimized this is a very bad game launch don't buy until they release some patches. What a mess !!

    An absolute joke from a AAA publisher. Optimization is non-existent. My i7 4770k OC with a GTX 1080 struggle on medium setting. When i should be playing smoothly on ultra or high. Do not buy until the problems are fixed and i am pretty sure they won't fix any of it and just grab the money and run. Completely unacceptable ! And Nvidia, please get your **** together.     unplayable!! Game sluggish and falls down to 40 fps in 1080p using OVERCLOCKED 5 GHz i9-9900K and RTX 2080? You know, when you beta-test game, you should PAY your testers, and NOT charge them with pre-orders. I will NEVER pre-order anything from you again.

    After installing the game I tweaked some graphics settings and tried to run the included benchmark which resulted in multiple crashes after multiple attempts. Restarted my computer. Benchmark no longer crashes the game. Once in-game I continue to tweak settings to get decent 60fps-ish performance on my 1080ti based machine. The game is far more demanding than Rockstar let on. As a test, IAfter installing the game I tweaked some graphics settings and tried to run the included benchmark which resulted in multiple crashes after multiple attempts. Restarted my computer. Benchmark no longer crashes the game. Once in-game I continue to tweak settings to get decent 60fps-ish performance on my 1080ti based machine. The game is far more demanding than Rockstar let on. As a test, I switch from Vulkan to DX12. Can't detect a difference. Decide to restart my machine again just because, now RDR2 won't start at all. Tried to start the game a dozen times, each time it fails. I can't play the game. Rockstar, don't release your game if it isn't ready to be played. ZERO… Expand

    Me: After so long I can finally play RDR2 on my pc for 10k
    Devs: Nope, we forgot about optimization, but you can always run the game as an administrator

    Absolutely loved the game on Xbox One, absolutely hating it on PC and that's saying a lot since I am mainly a PC gamer. The controls are poorly thought out and cannot be changed the game is buggy and constantly freezes. It also seems that the game has not been tested at all. The people who decided that the game was ready for launch should sacked! What an epic failure!

    Невозможно комфортно поиграть на связке i5-8600, 16gb оперативы и 1060 6gb. На средне-низких настройках графики - 35-45 фпс да еще и с просадками. GTA5 шикарно сделали, на релизе отлично игралась, а вот RDR2 - просто неоптимизированный кусок сами понимаете чего. 1 балл за созданный хайп вокруг пк-версии.     Если запускается - то рандомно крашится в любых моментах.
    Её просто не тестировали и не проверяли.

Put the game on pause, the game does not allow me to use the pause window because it just does not exist! Graphics..- it feels like I launched the game on PS3! How could you release such a thing?!     Купить за месяц до релиза эту игру, ждать а по итогу получить ошибку. Я три дня дрочился чтоб ее установить, два раза устанавливал чистую винду, только драйвера и эту ссаную игру. Но хрен я поиграл. Спасибо рокстар

    To adjust the texture - you need to restart the game;
    to play - you have to close your mouth and be tolerant;

    Rockstar Launcher keeps crashing, game is very badly optimized, the Denuvo DRM is probably causing a lot of problems like it did in other games. Honestly this is just pathetic and sad, why screw over your paying customers??? This should have released on Steam for a stable launch, without your garbage Rockstar Launcher and without intrusive DRM Denuvo causing problems.

    P.S. Все же не осилил пройти из-за нудности... 3 балла только за графику.

    Easily the most boring game I've ever played. I love third person action RPG's and though it would be similar to Witcher 3. It's so incredible slow at the beginning. Two shooting action scenes after about two hours of game play. And the shooting game play is boring as heck also. Controls are so clunky. Characters are also boring and annoying. Everybody praises this game and i don't know why...

    I'm gonna put a 0, because it's clearly an overrated game score. It's boring, pretty visual but long and boring story. Maybe you were paid or to hyped to make a clear score, but this is not what RDR2 should have. Maybe a 50 or between 50-55 not this.

    Poor, very poor console port. Not playable for almost 2 weeks since the premiere (very poor performance even on still quite powerfull rig - i7 9700K and GTX 1080 with 16GB 3200 GHz). Simply a bad joke from Rockstar.

    Все та же классная игра что я проходил год назад на PS4, НО! На моём неслабом PC эта игра отказывается норм работать, точнее работает без вылетов если играть на средне-низких, если же высокие или ультра то игровая сессия длиться не более часа после чего вылет на рабочий стол. В общем спасибо конечно за порт игры на PC но учитывая его нынешнее качество оптимизации то лучше бы они этоВсе та же классная игра что я проходил год назад на PS4, НО! На моём неслабом PC эта игра отказывается норм работать, точнее работает без вылетов если играть на средне-низких, если же высокие или ультра то игровая сессия длиться не более часа после чего вылет на рабочий стол.     This is buggy garbage. Constant crashing, terrible performance. Is the game itself any good? Who knows? It's unplayable. Wondering how "Rockstar" (lol) employees look at themselves in the mirror. You have to know this is trash. Thanks for ripping me off, would love to get a refund.

    This is my first review on this site. Dont buy this s***t. You will gain physiological disorientation problems while trying to make your rig run this game. I have been using computers since 90s and never seen such a software.

Crash and crash and crash and stutter and stutter. Finally got it to work decently when I found out they didn't put a cap on CPU usage and it was just getting the CPU to 100% CONSTANTLY. 3rd party fix.

    I want my money back and I'm never    WOW. Complete trainwreck. I can't believe a BILLION dollar studio would release something this unoptimized! Especially since they had so long to do it.     Shockingly poor quality form such a well-funded company, it just shows contempt to the PC market.

    This game has wonderfully graphic, and this is everything positive I can say about it. I spent 40 hours in this game and was still in the second chapter because I love to explore and do side quests instead of pushing the main story in all that I play games. But this game makes angry ass hell.

    2) Game controls (i use keyboard and mouse because it's PC) were terribly designed. Even (1) after remapping keys to handle the most important actions by one hand. Even (2) if you move hud closer to the center You need to observe right corner by the entire game:
    for crafting
    for hunting
    for talking
    for interact with pets/horses
    for looting
    for trading
    That is stupid, especially on an ultra-wide monitor.
    And even (3) that You never know what Arthur will do. For example, I always kick to dead tied people instead of releasing them because this action was triggered by this same button! You can expect random shots or punch during a conversation.

    3) physic is a big joke. Riding a horse or running was uncomfortable keybindings also doesn't help in this area. Everything is swimming in this world and you can expect many impossible ragdolls which results in sudden death.

    4) You cannot trust your inventory. Items like to disappear. It will be acceptable if there is some lost and found system, but there isn't.
    For example, I found a pretty civil war knife in an abandoned fort. And after a while, it disappears, I cannot loot it again, Found in my knives select menu or repurchase it from someone It vanished from the entire game.

    5) Stupid bounty system. Why the hell Arthur takes off the mask on every cutscene. And how law enforcement recognizes you in disguise. Because of this, the mask is useless.

    6) Missions and NPC
    Quick load festival not only because of terrible handling but because your stupid folks don't wait for you and rush on the enemy.
    NPC was broken! In stealth tutorial, every time when I silently kill a target, never mind if with throwing knife or by stabbing him. All other NPC starts shooting even when they cannot see whats happened.
    In cities, You need to fight with controls to don't touch anybody it results with bounty or quick load.

    7) Tutorials
    The game doesn't tell you about important mechanics.
    You need to search on the internet how bounty works, how to save game, How to use quick travel in the middle of nothing. Or why you cannot get a bunny perfect pelt. Or even if it tells there are too many actions on the bottom right to read all tooltips when they appear.    … Expand

    So yeah, i just asked a refund because my RTX 2070 was having trouble to run this upper crap unoptimized game. I wasted almost 2 hours just tweaking, and tweaking and tweaking to get at least a stable 60FPs experience and guess what, none of these worked

    That's what i call a straight **** console port. Stay away from this POS

UI wasn't even looked at, there isn't a single menu that houses the rest of the menus so each menu has its own individual hot key. The UI is massive and totally counter intuitive to keyboard and mouse users. If you want to change a hot key you need to scroll through pages and pages of other keys. The mouse UI sometimes completely breaks and the only way to use the menus again is to use the keyboard. but at least your horse poops every time you dismount. such detail, much game design. What would be amazing is if a studio made a game this detailed and beautiful but actually cared about the consumer more than just seeing them as potential micro-transactions. That way we would get a masterpiece not ruined by bugs, crashes and bad optimization just because fixing bugs and poor optimization cost more to fix than they bring in money.

    Also the trigger hoops the game forces you to jump through are so ridiculous, they are evident at every corner and it culminates in me being unable to even finish the epilogue, I just stand there in place glitched out. If they wanted to make a game on rails they should skip the trying to make an open world.

    I really wish the rockstar that made san andreas still existed, so that we would get a worth wile satirization of the piss poor state that current rockstar devolved into

    final note, as someone who lives in a desert other than the mojave or sonora it is annoying how over represented the saguaro cactus is. The cactus is found in one desert in arizona and that is it, but in this game it's in every desert except the one based on the mojave. It's also annoying there is a massive section of the map covered in saguaro cactus that isn't even used in the storyline, when the game cannot push a stable 60fps on a 3440x1440 monitor in the parts of the map you do use.    … Expand

    Updated absolutely everything, opened access through the firewall, done everything I could on my end to make it work and I still can't get the game to boot.

The game crush all the time. I download all new drivers, delete antivirus and thank God the game started (not for long). i play 4 hours. in this 4 hours that i played in the game most part of time I figured out the graphics settings. This game is poorly optimized ( AMD Radeon R9 280) on a low or medium settings ( doesen`t matter) have 20-25 FPS. So, i play 4 hours and the game crushed again. I check everything. New drivers, no any antivirus. And I still can’t sort out with it. I very dissapointed ( sorry for my english).… Expand

    To add insult to injury my steam copy of gta5 is also broken since the rockstar launcher started hijacking it (15fps). Feel robbed but will change my score if they can fix it :(

    it horrible, because with with i5 7500, gtx1060 and 16gb i had 20 fps. Trying to fixed it I updated nvidia drivers, and now i have another problem - i even can`t run a game!!! unexpected error with exit rockstar launcher.

    My biggest warning to anyone considering purchasing RDR2 on PC is that you need to have patience when you set it up. Take the time to go through each graphics option, compare your performance on Vulkan vs. DirectX 12, and tailor the game to your specs. Once you have the game tuned, there’s no better way to experience it than on PC.
