This is one of the worst designed game. This is just another game crap, don't waste your money.

The game video performance is the worst, it actually runs worse than Arkham Knight.

Giving the game zero because of all the lies developers fed us to get us into buying the game. This is far from what was promised and even what is shown in the trailers that sell the game, even they have features that do not exist in the game.. Read more about the bs they fed us here: http://www.onemanslie.info/the-original-reddit-post/

Poorly executed game - with features missing from the game and with both performance problems and crashings occurring. it's so bad and boring that i wouldn't even recommend anyone pirating it.

Fps drops on gtx 1070 and i7 processor. This game is poorly optimized and is very tedious. Buy on a sale, don't get this game for $60. Wait until they fix the glaring problems with the game, not just the poor optimization for pc, but also the gameplay

Unacceptable performance, constant crashes, and bad UI. Leaving a space station drops you down to 2 fps for several minutes and there's constant stuttering when not even moving
This is a pure and simple badly done console port. 0 effort and it shows.

The game isn't optimized for PC, the core game-play is repetitive and mechanics tiresome.

This game should've been released as an Early Access with a $20 price tag.

I'd gladly try the game again after a few updates (hopefully) and when the game goes on sale.

Sadly NMS is the first game I've ever refunded on steam, such a disappointment.

That any studio has the nerve to release a game with so many technical problems is shocking, and HG should be ashamed of themselves. The game will be remembered for its amazing graphics, and lack of substance in every other way.

Horrible. I feel cheated and I want my money back. I've not felt this lied-to in a long while and that's saying something. This game is about 1% of what was promised and falls well short of even reasonable expectations.

    Absolutely dreadful.

Thank god for steam refunds. This game isn't worth 60$. It hardly even works. One of the worst ports in the history of gaming.

It's literally a dumpster indie game that would normally be sold for 5$ on steam. Going for 60$.

I am so happy the Steam refund system exists. Through out the years they promised me a feature rich game with the potential of meeting other players (narrow, but still, "the only way to see your own character is via another player").

As like most of you I had waited eagerly for the PC version and was waiting in anxiousness to play this game. I had seen all the PS4 reviews and I was so scared and hoping it was one of those games that polarized people. This is not the case, unfortunately. I love space games and I knew everything that it was supposed to be so its not like i was looking for a mass effect storyline. I just wanted a game that I could collect resources and be awe inspired by the planets.

However, the graphical issues are noticeable immediately. Skipping in fram erate, pausing unexpectedly, and the occassional crash. At first, i was excited while I was exploring on the planet but the controls are so un-intuitive that it is maddening. I'm so disappointed to find that the PS4 reviews and these PC reviews are spot on. I already uninstalled and got my money back. Again, I knew what this was going to be and what it wasn't unlike some. I didn't expect multiplayer or anything else of the sort just a good game collecting resources and exploring space and the many planets it had to offer. The inventory is so easily taken up and the amount of time it takes to travel places with upgrades really ruins the pacing. Clunky menus, inventory, options make this even worse.

The headache in the end is not worth it. I'm so upset that I had to write a bad review I wanted all the reviews to be false. I hate that all of you were right about this game I really am. The truth hurts and here is looking forward to a good space adventure/survival game in the future.

    Audio: 8.5/10
Visuals (on highest settings) : 5/10 wasn't expecting much in this department
    Gameplay (it's so boring) : 2/10
Controls (some of the worst I have experienced and I've played Superman 64): 0/10
Replayability (seems like it should be a lot but already bored) : 0/10

Conclusion: I hate that all of you were right about this ambitious but horrible title.

While I appreciate avant garde design elements in computer gaming as much as next cranky old man, something about this feels lackluster and incomplete. Sure, the poetic irony of a game called No Man's Sky that consists of No Sky or, indeed, anything else whatsoever, is spot on, but it lacks both dramatic tension and narrative closure.

I have issues with the soundtrack as well. While I'm not a fan of overbearing game music that doesn't know when to reign it in, I do expect somewhat more than just the hum of my computer fans. Possibly if there was an executable that actually opened and launched a product I would find something more to my taste within it, but as it is I'm thinking the only shot at redemption they might have here is if I can customize Steam to play beep noises when I press that PLAY button.

Framerate is good, which to be fair I would expect from any game rendering zero polygons.

The UI is rudimentary (IE, it consists of a button marked PLAY) but serviceable, but if there options to save or load your progress I haven't found them. The control scheme, which consists of LMB = CLICK PLAY BUTTON, also does not appear to be configurable.

I have to hand it to Hello Games, it's not every day a product is released that has a shot at replacing Hellgate:London, Outpost or Battlecruiser 3000 on my list of worst screw ups in PC gaming history. No Man's Game, I mean Sky, appears to be a serious contender already just hours after it's release.

I don't care if it works by tomorrow! On day one it wasn't a server problem like some multiplayer games (i.e The Division) the game was literally a broken turd for well over half of the people that purchased it and those who did managed to get in said it run like garbage and looked about as good as Bad Rats. Even turning slowly, stuttering is abundant and frequently dropping below 20, the game is nauseating. On top of that, the field of view adjustments are broken and it feels claustrophobic. The only way to fix it is going into the settings file and manually changing the FOV to be above 100, but that causes distracting graphical glitches.

The game looks like garbage and the resolution setting only upscales the game from 720p, causing the image to appear blurry and makes jagged edges more noticeable. That aside, half the graphical settings either don't work at all (4xSSAA) or have no graphical difference between highest and lowest (Anisotropic Filtering) but the highest setting still manages to make framerates worse.

I would not touch this game with a 20-mile pole until the developers learn how to make the game run properly. Until then, it is not worth even considering buying unless it is HEAVILY discounted (around $10 at most).

Planets are all the same, oh except this one is hot, and this one is cold, and this one is poisonous, and this one is radioactive. So your life support systems break down in the same way, and you repair them in the same way, its just the 'color' of the hazard that changes. Why are no planets completely gas planets without a surface? Or complete water worlds? They're all the same, just painted with different palettes, with the same sporadic appearance of flora + fauna. Want to land your spaceship? Go find some plutonium, rinse repeat. With this kind of 'cost' of travel, you'll quickly find yourself deciding against landing your spaceship and exploring because you really don't want to wander around looking for plutonium again.

The alien races you encounter are dull, and they all just seem to be sitting wherever they are, waiting for you. The main 'questline' has you warping to and fro so often that all you really want to look for is the ingredients you need to make warp cells. Your catalog of stars, planets, life, rocks that you discover is completely meaningless. You're not given any context for your discoveries except for "you've found 64% of the weird **** on this planet!" So what?

    I regret my purchase.

Nothing ever really happens in “No Man’s Sky.” Once you’ve seen three or four planets, you’ve probably seen just about everything the rest 18 quintillion planets have to offer.

The more you play from there, the emptier and more pointless it all feels.

    Pointless, worthless, a scam.

The game idea is awsome but how they execute it was horrible. Very bad optimization and very monotone generations, some times you will find a dessert in which theres almost nothing and so it makes it boring. There are a LOT of bugs and some times they make it imposible to play. Finally but not least the game was suposed to be multiplayer but no it dosent.

Planets begin to feel too similar after awhile and the game becomes a lesson in grinding and jumping from planet to planet that begin to look carbon copy. I hope in the future they release updates (not paid DLC) that will bring the game's value up to match it's release price. If they continue to update and improve the game then I will change my review. In the current state of the game it's is not worth it's price but worth picking up if it goes on sale for under $20 and you don't mind the repetitiveness of mining for resources. 0/10 really. this is supposed to be a survival/crafting game right? i can see it, but i cant play it. what i mean is.

you mine shiny red blobs of stone, which in return, doesnt do anything. yeah you can make parts for your ship, but there is no other crafting involved. you cant build a base, you cant build a ship, you cant really "craft" anything. as far as survival goes. you basically need to mine 1 recourse in the game to stay alive. you refill your O2 levels the same as recharging your gun. so whats even the point? If you want to call this game a survival crafting game, then you are putting it up against games like rust, minecraft, ark, etc. there are so many. and this doesnt even come close to those.

now if this game was sold as lets say "a looking at things adventure" then its only competition is pokemon snap. a hard game to beat, but hey..at least it would be honest.

COMBAT is so far off that i dont even want to go there. the only chance it has at this point is combat in space

SPACE COMBAT there pretty much isnt any. sure you get attacked by a pirate, but if you can get past the crappy UI of the game you can use that sweet ore you mined to recharge you shields and make yourself invincible.

overall this games only achievement is that a small group of people made it. its also colorful despite the 10 mete distance graininess. [i play on high on pc, im exaggerating] This game deserves title as worst game in history. I hope it surpasses E.T. and it gets buried on the moon. good try Hello Games, but you should have tried harder.

There's no reward for finishing the journey, in fact it takes stuff away when you do.
There's no real need to leave the starting systems as 95% of the time the system will have everything you need, the other 5% you can simply buy it off the market.
There's no progression, the game is the same from start to when you simply quit (only difference is more bag space).
You can learn an entire language for 20 carbon (and by the time you're finished you can turn that 20 carbon into 1000s or more if you have the space lol).
There's so much more to add to whats wrong but by now you should get the idea... it's trash; wait for a 75% off sale.

The other route tells that you created a new star-system, but technically there are only 64bit different planets (9,223,372,036,854,775,807) the random generator will generate a unique planet for each one and you can not add there a planet created by you. Also there is no report of planet-systems named like "created by user" so its a nice story, but nothing more in this "multiplayer/singleplayer-multigame" experience.

The base building, teleportation and renting the ship with the option to build a base in it feels shoehorned into the mechanics of the game. Most ideas are done by other indie developer like starbound and subnautika already. Also this basebuilding breaks with the mechaniks of the core game. It was not developed to be a base building game the core mechanics are not changed.

For pacing the game there are to many grinding moments for just improving the grinding it self. In other games you grind to do some thing different. Example: Starbound. With the multitool you dig to improve the tool to grab liquids from the planets. Then you will grind to place wire and paint the placed blocks. In No Man's Sky you just grind to grind more. There is no target or improvement in your game and without these shift in mechanics there is no fun after 3 to 4 hours.

No Man's Sky breaks the record in falling short of the hype – which is an incredible achievement in the category of super ambitious space games. The huge universe is a repetitive, lifeless and meaningless place, no amount of random generated creatures can change that. The most unforgivable fail is making the spaceship such a pain to fly, which makes exploring the vast universe simply a chore. However, at its best the game is epic and many of the issues should be easy to fix, so this might not be the end of the journey after all. [Sept 2016]

It's partially broken, shallow, repetitive and aimless, but hang me, I still kind of love it. [Issue#255, p.56]

While some poorly designed systems and mechanics chip away at your patience, the feeling of flying seamlessly from space down to a peninsula you spotted from orbit never fails to enthrall. [Nov 2016, p.106]
