Love this game, I originally played it on PS3 but had a mini gaming burnout, so never got very far into it . I have only done one mission and have over 25 hours and I only got it Friday 17th April, It really is the best on PC but especially in 4K ....... 4K is no gimmick it truly is wonderful and you have to see it to believe it . My time has been spent taking the world in, I am in no rush because its an amazingly detailed world to explore .
I have been playing tennis wife the wife ( which is awesome ) and then going a spin in the car all in first person, playing in FP in GTA is so immersive and I have rarely took it off the setting because they nailed it .
You have skills in this game that increase over time by using them but you can go to gun ranges and take flying lesson to increase them faster before a job .
The story looks class and 3 characters are all equally interesting ............. no point reading any of this, just get it .

Respect to every single person that was involved in creating this unique and excellent MASTERPIECE.

I was just thinking today...if they would say to give them more money so they can create another title that is this good - I would give it to them.

And I am certain I will NEVER preorder any single game after the experience with Ubisoft, EA...and those other companies.

Can't remember a single game in the last few years that worked flawlessly on day 1.

Did not encounter single bug so far, 33% into the game.

    Graphics out of this world.

    Optimization insane.

Audio - great and YES, now I remembered there is a issue - 5,1 sound not working properly. Positional audio is great but no sound coming to subwoofer. I play in stereo now.

Gameplay - GTA fans know what to expect.

Controls - fluid and easy to learn.

    Buy it.

    Play it.

    Enjoy it.

They've spent 2 years on "porting" it on pc. At least thats what they said. From my point of view, rockstar was just throwing their money on hookers and drugs for those 2 years, and week before "promised" release of the game they actually started working on game.

Lets skip those problems that wont even let you to launch the game. Its a pretty common issue, but whatever, lets say you made a lot of fixes to actually launch the game. Lets pretend you are lucky enough and didnt get HDD related bug, which is really common. Lets pretend you were also lucky enough to not catch fps related bugs and got that sweet 60 fps. Wanna know whats gonna happen for ya after all that stuff and gigabytes of fixes? 3 hours of gameplay.
Yep, in 3 hours you will reach your first heist and "throwing weapons bug". Not going to explain it in details, but this will actually make you not able to progress in story anymore.
So, you are going to spend an evening which you couldve spend on game, on googling 3rd party fixes for this. Yep, R* doesnt care at all, they've already sold it to you. You ll find a fix which literally makes you not using one of the core functions of the game forever.

You ll get another 2 hours of gameplay, and then - BAM! Another heist. New series of bugs. Another evening spent on googling, fix found on crack developers site(Yep, fix for legit steam version of game found on crack makers site). 1 more hour of gameplay, yay!

Aaaand 3rd heist. Which will have a new combo of bugs, weapon related and character switch related. Ive done this heist like 20 times, trying every fix possible, none of them worked(altho, ppl get thru it). This was the point where i draw my line. Deleted the game and going to ask for refund.

Oh, and dont forget that iFruit wasnt even ported for pc version of the game.
So, what do we have? A good looking benchmark(in theory there is a gameplay, but you cant access it coz of **** of bugs), multyplayer full of cheaters (there is no antcheat at all. Like literally, you can hack it online using artmoney! Dont forget about microtransactions!)

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Very disappointing game. It seems as though they focused too heavily on making GTA Online, and not enough on actually creating any story, or gameplay for singleplayer. Most of the contacts you make throughout the game just fizzle out (Solomon and Devin, to name a few). You do a couple missions for them, and then never see or hear from them again. Franklin has barely any backstory. He just does a couple jobs, and next thing you know, he is living in a mansion in the Vinewood Hills. Would've been nice to have a gang territory map for Franklin, like in San Andreas (starting turf wars, etc.), seeing as how he is a gang member...

The ending was anti-climactic. I chose to kill Trevor, and after an uneventful chase through Los Santos, all that happens is you get some phone calls asking about what happened to Trevor.

Once the story is over, all you're left with is a big city and not much else to do, except for random meet-ups with random NPCs who give you missions to pick things up, kill, etc...nothing special, and nothing relevant. Just a bunch of mini-games...

Online isn't any better. Pretty boring, to be honest, and not as populated as I thought it would be.

Considering this version of the game took about a 1.5 years to produce (after the other versions), you'd think there would be much more to it, but there really isn't. Definitely not worth $60. Maybe wait until it goes on a Steam sale.

The specs themselves are not an issue, I've personally had the game run perfectly at high settings without any issues and then after several days the game deteriorated into an unplayable lag fest both Story and Online.

Basically, Grand Theft Auto 5 for PC is an awesome game when it works and is playable, but when it isn't playable its a horrible broken mess that is completely unplayable. I'm heavily suspecting the game has several memory leak issues and those can take a long time to lock down and fix.

Once Rockstar can patch all these issues which prevent the game from running as intended, I'll re-write this review and most likely give it a 9 or 10/10 review provided they can fix the game and make it run properly.

GTA V has less sense of urgency, exploration, adventure, excitement, creativity, and running wild and free than GTA San Andreas accomplished, and the GTA V mission layout is inefficient and seems like it was done to artificially elongate player play-time.

With GTA V, Rockstar seem to have proven as de-facto that they do not have much competence at PC game-making, as the UI in GTA V is pretty hodgepodge thrown together, the minigame controls that come up in GTA V missions are very erratic / inconsistent, and accessibility for things in GTA V can be really non-intuitive, and not in line with expected functionality. Rockstar seems to clearly be a console developer who has made an effort for the PC version, but have little familiarity with the PC gaming experience. A lot of their design choices in GTA V are abysmal, and beneath average usability. They need to get their heads out of their own asses, and open their eyes and figure their sh*t out better. Maybe they're expecting a free pass without doing the proper work owed.

The city of San Andreas is very nice, but it feels like GTA V doesn't make enough use of it. There is a lot less of a feeling of exploiting every opportunity in GTA V than there is in GTA San Andreas. GTA V is just a lot more normal than GTA San Andreas, and maybe that's why they made the Trevor character - to compensate for lacking an innate creative zaniness in the writing, mission design, overall main story. But as the player, I've wanted to kill Trevor off all along, and don't enjoy playing as him, or his contribution to the story.

I think that the character Trevor doesn't work. The character Trevor is crazy, but RS don't seem to have known what they were trying to accomplish by it, and it feels a bit as though it was done just to see what it was like, or just to grab people's attention with vapid shock value. Having better design in the game would instead be a satisfying player draw, and Trevor seems gimmicky.

The story in GTA V feels a bit mundane, and it makes the individual mission shine less, and have less sense of important purpose within them. Kind of feels like like just dealing with things while nothing more interesting is going on.

The GTA V mission design is all criss-crossed across the map, so it's not like GTA San Andreas, where you'll have a bunch of mission development in an area - instead, GTA V has the player driving not especially interesting distances between each mission, and it's reducing of engagement. Maybe RS had fewer missions and tried to stretch out the playtime with this design. Whatever their reason, relying on such a tactic doesn't help the game, but makes it clear that a lack of design quality is present.

GTA V is OK, the graphics are good - but RS hasn't employed as masterful a touch in this product as they did in GTA San Andreas, and some things in GTA V feel like RS were trying to hide recognition of that by using noisy distractions.

I hope RS start earning their reputation again, rather than riding on it.

I consider GTA:V to be nearly perfect, While GTA Online needs some matchmaking work, however it is still the best multi-player game i have played. Its sad to see so many people give bad reviews for day one connectivity issues or not being able to download a patch day one.

A good solid output, with just a few minor quibbles. Things that seem a little cheeky, like the advert about the new first person shooter, how all the levels are all the same?
Wondering how many times I do a mission, take a constantly yapping passenger, to a location shoot someone and drive back before I realise “how all the missions are all the same”.
In fact all in all it’s the same GTA just a different Roman numeral. But hands up, for whatever reason it’s still fun!
What’s the point of manually swapping out characters, isn't far easier and better for the story continuum to do that for me?
The story is OK, not great but certainly doesn't bore you to death. Some moments are absolutely hilarious, but only a few brief moments.
I was impressed by blood splatters that stick with the car and with the scenic locations. The graphics are far better than previous versions, imagine Hare Krishna’s in glorious polygons?
Of course, Great Graphics means high end machine, but that has always been a PC problem.
Free Driving like a reckless lunatic and wondering if the police will ever show up? And then wondering if there is a parallel in the real world?
Wondering why the inclusion of strip joins is a must, is it for the kids that shouldn't purchasing this game in the first place?
Wondering is a video character painted black, allowed the same leniency as an actual black person using the N word?
Why do they have to swear so much?

So you know you are old when you actually like and recognise the songs on the radio.
And dear younger gamers out there … one day it will happen to you.
Damn I am old… thanks Rockstar for pointing it out!

As I recall it still sold ridiculously well for consoles, so the devs won't learn anything. They made a very creative and innovative character swap feature, but it doesn't add that much fun to the playing experience. There is also nothing super immersive about the game world. Some staple GTA game elements are missing, and it doesn't reach the quality of the other games in the series.

I think it fails predominantly because they made 3 protagonists for you to play. There also is not a clear antagonist for you to butt heads against. This makes the story mediocre at best. You just don't care. They spread themselves thin and it really shows around the middle of the game when the missions become boring.

Buying houses is gone, and so is that feeling of moving up in the world. Managing properties is pointless, and you cannot even afford them all by the end of the game. The money system is tied to using the computer to buy stocks, which is a hilariously idiotic concept. Secret items aren't even shown to you initially or remotely worth hunting out. You remember in San Andreas when they showed you how to spray over tags in a quest? Apparently the devs couldn't be bothered to do that here. Most of the defining GTA open world game elements are gone or irrelevant.

Sure, the game world is beautiful, but there is no substance. It is like a cardboard cutout Hollywood set. Beautiful facade, but hollow. Saints Row has managed to surpass GTA in making the type of game that Rockstar revolutionized. That is so unbelievably baffling.

The bank heists were cool and all, but they shipped off the content to MP so that you cannot experience it solo. They introduce creating a crew and leveling them up over time, and then you don't see your crew again for 8 hours. It's like the game wanted you to be a bank robber, but then decided against it. The game should have been completely about doing heists because nothing in the series has made that a focal point. Rockstar had a good idea and failed to deliver on it. Instead, you get a fun, exciting mission, every once and a while..

Also, I don't understand why anyone would want to race or do team deathmatch in GTA Online. Why do you want a graphic intensive world weighing you down for DM? Why deal with the terrible control of GTA cars to race competitively? I don't see MP appeal for this genre at all. Sandbox MP should not be normal car racing and DM. Also, the whole online experience is PvP even if you are just trying to ride around and explore, or do simple missions. That means a max level guy will see you on the map and kill you out of boredom while you are going into Ammunation or something trivial.

The MP is uninspired. The heists are the only thing of value to do, but then you have to deal with a truly terrible GUI as well as a lot of loading times. The SP story falls flat on its face, and the game has no meat.

I am truly gutted. Nevertheless, it is still fun, and there are moments that are worth experiencing. The problem is, you compare V against the other successful games in the series and it fails to rise to their level.

Yes they've finally added online multi-player heists to the game, after it has become completely irrelevant and I've lost all interest. The game was decent, it looked good and the controls were alright and it had most of the makings of a GTA game, except for the WOW factor. I just don't think it lived up to the hype (or the time it took them to finally come out with the game). That being said, GTA is my favorite franchise and has my favorite game of all time in its repertoire (I've been gaming for about 20 years now). So I expect a lot but they also should somewhat have me in "their pocket" but they fail continually to make something groundbreaking. These 10/10s and 100/100s are just ridiculous. Expand

The terrible community. While this issue can be found in many other games, GTA V is no different. I feel this shortcoming is self-evident, so I see no reason to expand on it further.

And that's about it. Not many bad things about this game. I should mention that the keybindings are a little bit illogical for PC. You fly airplanes with numpad... what the heck? With this set-up I can achieve almost all maxed out settings at 1080p. With the technical aspects aside the game is pretty much the same as the latest generation consoles, with noticeable improved controls for shooting while using mouse and keyboard and vastly improved draw distance. Those who are frustrated at the issues downloading and the Rockstar social club, it is understandable, but rating the game based on those issues and not the game itself is very unreasonable; the purpose of a review to provide insight on the game itself, not reviewing overloaded servers on the day of launch.
No game is perfect, thus rating any game 10 is idiotic, but if any game is deserving of my highest praise, GTA V would be that game. I highly recommend this game to anyone who is a fan of sandbox games or a fan of previous Rockstar Games.

I was lucky and got the game through Steam. Other then the 14h download on launch day I don't have anything to complain about. It's running perfectly fine on my five year old i7 920 quad core with a two year old GTX 770 and 8GB Ram. Got almost everything on High (used Geforce Experience to automatically set the right options). About 20h in now and also none of the crashes others reported.

The game looks absolutely gorgeous. There's so much detail around every corner. After the first Heist I spend easily two hours just walking around in 1st person admiring all the little details Los Santos has to offer and another hour taking Chop the Dog for walks or just randomly running into pedestrians until they start attacking me and then watch Chop bite their heads off. The Tennis mini game is not half bad either if you like Tennis. You can even use your phone to call a Blimp and then go sightseeing from the air.

The missions are.. well they are original GTA. Really well written dialogue good mission design, a lot more fun than GTA IV for sure. To me they are on the same level as San Andreas and Vice City were. Over the top action and not as serious and dark as IV was (not counting the IV DLC, Lost&Damned and the other one with the gay guy, those were great too). Speaking of which, you meet some characters from the old games again in this game.

Like I said I'm about 20h in now and the stats tell me I've completed 16% and did 17 of the 69 main missions. Then again I spend a lot of time just running around or riding a bike (they are as fun as they were in SA). There's just so much to see and I've only uncovered about half of the map so far. Although a lot of what's still missing is probably ocean or country side.

The only thing I'm somehow having a problem with is the Cop's behaviour. For some reason you can't just outrun them by driving away in a fast car like in past games. You have to somehow get out of their range and then hide behind buildings preferably putting your head down (there's literally a button for putting your head down). It takes some getting used to and leads to strange situations where sometimes I can try to escape from them for minutes, driving half way across the map and they're still tailing me. And sometimes I just drive around one corner in a narrow road between two buildings and they've lost me.

That being said I can easily overlook this one strange behaviour with everything else being as fun as it is. I'm heaving a great time playing the game and these past three days the reason for me to put down the controller always was the clock showing 2am.

I am happy & proud to have this legendary masterpiece in my collection! (same for my laptop that is strong & bold enough to run this!))) Kowtow & applause to Rockstar, thanks for the present & your hardwork & efforts!

If you're gonna blame something, at least blame the developers. The game itself is fantastic, just give it time and they'll patch it.

Now that that's out of the way, let's get on with the review. This is one of the most fun games I've played, and online is outstanding with a group of friends or even random people. The heists are a welcome change to the somewhat repetitive game modes/missions in Online. The graphics, if you can max them out or get them close to max, are jaw-droppingly gorgeous.

If I had to point out a negative, there are some minor glitches in Online that I've noticed but that's to be expected. They'll patch it and everything will be fine as usual.

Don't listen to the 0's, you're gonna enjoy the hell out of this game!!

The game itself is amazing, definitely worth paying full price for on launch day. There were a few hiccups that I had to Google a fix for, but I'm not reviewing Rockstar's servers or Social Club, I'm reviewing the game. Play for just a few minutes, and you'll realize how much potential GTAV has.

If you want to pay 60 dollars for something that just MAYBE will work then go ahead. Im disappointed they release something that havent been properly tested enough. And the lack of support rockstar is giving, and still no fix patch 3 days after launch? and i think the price for the game is low value, its still gta v not 6 or something..

All I can say is simply meh. It's not the best game I've ever played, not the worst. It's graphics look horrible on Ultra, it plays more or less fine, but it's just not an amazing game. The only reason I can see really reccomendin it is because it's *supposedly* 40 hours long and the soundtrack is good.

When you fill you PC with shat that's what you will get shat. I bet most of these idiots don't even have a real AV, and browse pron sites with malware on their PCs. I was able to get online and play since minute 1 of the release. Mind you I'm glad I wasn't playing the Steam version of this game, as it seems that that's where most of the issues lied, with Steam. I had 3 people play with me online since minute one, non of us played the Steam version.

Prior to launching the game for the first time I used DUU to clean my graphics driver from my system, and then proceeded to install the AMD 15.4 beta driver that supports GTA V, reboot and reboot. Nvidia has a GTA V release driver as well. Is the game perfect, no, there are still some graphical glitches and last night the game crashed on me. This is to be expected. On day one I played about 5 hours of this game and no crashes, day two I played 4 hours and it ran fine as well, day three I played 2 hours and the game crashed. Oh well, it is playable and these issues will get patched out.

The online works a lot better than the console versions of the game, you can actually play with people online. You can get into other rooms and heist setups, unlike my experience with the Xbox One version.

I haven't played GTA since GTA 2, now I'm back because of the online. The online is fun when playing with your buddies.

    - it seems like the driving is a bit more "arcade" style that it was in IV.
    - It seems like the city is not "giving over" that great feeling like it was in IV.
    - And it does not feel in the beginning that I would "fell in love" with the characters..

But I have to say that I just started, so I believe it will get better. : ) The game looks great and runs great on my 1 year old gaming pc. I cant wait to get back to Los ****** Santos!!! : ) I recomend this one. 8+ and hopefully later I can say that 10 is the score.

No DLC, season-pass or 'XXX edition' crap, Finished, complete game with tons of contents. Amazing game quality and optimization. Full of love, effort and fan services. Respect for the fans of the franchise and gamers as a whole.

I don't care they took 1.5 years to make it to PC or delayed it for 2 month. It was well worth the wait, and I'm even glad I got a much better game than the console version thanks to that.

I had some hiccups cracking open the game to play for the first 2 hours but that memory is long gone thanks to what was inside the game.

In the sea of crappy AAA titles copy-pasted every year with gazillion DLCs to milk the gamers to death, this game shines like a diamond so I just HAD to make a review of it.

GTA has been around since 1998 and a core franchise of Rockstar but there have been only 5 main titles yet, which says something.

Thank you Rockstar, not just for the wonderful game, but for the respect you've shown to us. 11/10

This makes driving particularly tricky since there is virtually no peripheral vision. The first person mode was offputting at first, but I grew into it. The user interface in menus is atrociously bad, and this is the first game in a decade that had the arrow keys bound to standard, frequently used bindings. Flight is a pain using the Numpad numbers for pitch and roll. When you quit the game, you have to hit escape, go into a separate tab, select exit, confirm you want to exit, and then confirm you want to exit again. The menu interface feels a lot like playing Skyrim without SkyUI, where you can tell there are problems in the port quality.

Nevertheless, it is a fun and enjoyable game. It is worth the buy, even if it is *far* from the greatest game ever made.

We could not expect a better PC port PC for Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar North, offers right from day one a huge game in optimized, widely scalable, and high impact graphics and the video editor, although not so easy to use, is an enjoyable addition.
