    I paid $140 for this crappy game and now they want me to pay a subscription when I got WOW and WOW classic for nearly half of Fallout's subscription and I get far more for my money as 76 is a disgrace of a game.

    I have officially given up on Bethesda and the Fallout Series. They killed it and for that I will NEVER forgive them... ever !

    Allowing Bethesda to keep doing this kind of games is the same as never bringing back games like Dishonored which are great at gameplay and history.

    It is a full priced AAA Game as a Service pay to win. It is not an MMO (max 24 players in server does not account for title of MMO .. not even close, not to mention this number is only in theory since everything is way too slow with so many people).

    In response to player willingness to make purchases in the Atom shop and out of pure greed, Bethesda removed the ability to repair your weapon etc. at a workbench and began charging players for item repair kits. This is bait and switch marketing. it is a low down dirty way to take advantage of customers who have already invested money and time into a version of the game that was sold with entirely different mechanics. Personally I will never buy another Bethesda game again for such shady backhanded business practices. I didn't even get into all the people they ripped off with shoddy merchandise.    … Expand

    In italy there's a "little" organization that first put the danger in the streets, than asks you to pay the protection. Mafia, in its origins name, means "bully" before meaning "criminal organization"; surely Bethesda doesn't kill people but they murdered videogame spirit.

    To the next company that cries because of its own flop I say to learn to respect customers and start to follow a quality product standard like other products in life; I don't think that we would accept the same things that happen with videogames buying, for example, a car:
    "Don't worry, this car doesn't have wheels NOW but with the next patch you'll get the them for free".

    you know it is just funny reading the metacritic reviews. Fallout 76 was basically Imported from Fallout 4 with very little changed. Why did they release it in 2018? god i don't know. if only they released it now they *may* of had a more positive review

I can not stress enough how bad this game is, but take this review has an entire rating of everything related to the game (Collector’s Edition, Nuka Rum, Fallout 1st). Even though I got the game essentially for free from a bundle, I still feel robbed, like how is it that every single week there’s a new **** up? And this week’s episode of how did Bethesda ****ed up now, the game literally became a creative mode MMO Fallout 4, everybody has god-tier weapons, Preston Garveys as companions and ****ing pridewings. I knew the game was essentially a Fallout 4/ Skyrim re-skin but this actually feels like a mod. TL:DR, **** this game, **** Bethesda and I hope you at least enjoyed the game with your friends or at least returned it before having a rage induced seizure.… Expand

I'm more of a lone wolf when playing, so multiplayer is not really a thing for me, I purchased the game to play by myself, and the way the main missions are setup are very bad, there are big gaps in the required levels to be able to finish a mission even when playing them in the right order...     Really enjoyed Fallout 3 & Fallout 4 and had high expectations on Fallout 76 but unfortunately they got shattered.

Everyone knows about the controversies like the deceptive marketing with nuka-rum, micro transactions, info leak, canvas bags and bugs. Bethesda has been flat out greedy with the release of this game, and all evidence points towards it. High price tag, atomic shopFallout 76 is the biggest disappointment out of any game I've ever bought, and quite possibly the worst game I've ever bought. Everyone knows about the controversies like the deceptive marketing with nuka-rum, micro transactions, info leak, canvas bags and bugs. Bethesda has been flat out greedy with the release of this game, and all evidence points towards it. High price tag, atomic shop (micro transactions which has non cosmetics now), fallout 1st, and now the new armor packs. Bethesda wants to charge you $13 a month for something that should be free in game, limitless storage. Not to mention these power armor suits you can buy for $20 a piece should be included in game as well. Additionally Fallout 76 has run "exclusive skin" events both in game and through Twitch prime (along with the NCR ranger armor from fallout 1st). Bethesda has outright refused to add these "exclusive skins" to the atomic shop for no reason. Benny's suit from fallout new vegas was included in one of these exclusive twitch prime bundles. I wasn't able to get it and the one time I'm willing to pay money for a cosmetic they refuse. They are locking in game content behind hurdles that shouldn't even exist. Now they have an upcoming season pass, which sounds a lot like a battle pass from fortnite. They even banned players who were making mods (not the cheating kind), reporting exploits, and even banned a player that made a map tool.

    Although this is a multiplayer game, you will be all by yourself most of the time. Honestly, this should have just been an expansion for fallout 4. All the problems with this game both in game and pr disaster make me not want to play it at all and I'm infuriated as I was pre-orderer and an original B.E.T.A tester. The game ran better at beta than it did at launch.

    Bethesda handled fallout 76 so poorly that I decided not to buy Doom Eternal (they added denuvo and screwed over Mick Gordon) so my suspicions were ultimately confirmed. I have no faith in bethesda at this point and currently have no intentions of buying Elder Scrolls 6.

    Also, Bethesda being stubborn and forcing players to use their terrible launcher was dumb, and they have since "corrected" this by putting it on steam. But guess what, atoms don't transfer to steam because screw you. At least they allowed some of their purchases to have a free copy on steam. (as if that would make up for all the other terrible things they've done)

    Players also wanted to have private servers, they wanted to host it themselves. Nope, you gotta pay bethesda to do it for you.

    This is $79.99 and many hours of my time and frustration I will never get back.    … Expand

    And wow what an Adventure, I played for a few hours and I was invisible the whole time, no enemy atacked me... 10/10 Bethesda

    Game can give some fun for like 20 hours. Until lvl 20 it was pretty okay, after that everywhere I've moved I've encountered opponents on lvl +48 which absolutely blocked me with any progress in main quest and side stories. Great music and exploration as always but everything else like engine, design etc would be great when released in 2013.

However factions , story choices are much more limited than in previous games but it’s nice to see npcs now. The battle royal mode is also okay but those are overdone and uninteresting now. The gameplay loops are still a massive grind requiring hours of play to get a decent build. Plus the addition of clear pay to win elements has not helped. Overall fallout 76 is still a poor game that’s not much better than it was 12 months ago. The graphics are also very bad and is not 16x the detail.… Expand

Their "new engine" is the same as the one they made Morrowind on, only slightly updated. All hype, no substance, only exists as a naked monetization and microtransaction platform. This whole "game" is garbage.

    This whole abomination of a cynical jumping aboard of the "live service" bandwagon is a HUGE middle finger to #Fallout fans everywhere. Not to mention it breaks the lore of almost every group as it was established in previous games!

    I've always enjoyed Fallout games for their visceral, and gory combat. Hunting rifles were satisfyingly powerful compared to 10mm. In all previous games, if you shoot, you get instant feedback that makes you feel powerful (or not).

    This game has a 1-2 second delay between 'attack' and 'reward'. I shoot, wait, and then sometimes enemies register damage.     Not my type of game at all. I have completed all the previous iterations of the franchise and enjoyed every one. But not this. There are plenty of problems but for me the compulsory PvP is the killer. I play several online multiplayer games, none of which force PvP in the way that Fallout 76 does.

Я не могу поверить, что это в какой то вселенной может считаться нормой!Мне всё равно на баги и прочее и я думаю, что игра не плохая обычный фолыч от беседки только онлайн, но что в этой игре с графикой? я чисто физически не могу играть в неё больше получаса мои глаза не выдерживают этих цветов этого освещения, свечения. This is the first time Bethesda has had to fix the bugs instead of just letting the modders do it for them in years. I just had to completely restart a dungeon because of a KNOWN glitch where a certain door won't open. This quest has been out for over a year. Still isn't fixed, and probably never will be.I think I've finally figured out why literally everything about Fallout 76 is broken. At least some kind words can only be said about the exploration of the world, but Bethesda also managed to ruin it, leaving half of the locations without a sane background and simply throwing hostile mobs there.     I love the Fallout series of games, and had high hopes for Fallout 76 and I was very disappointed in it, I can not recommend it to anyone to play it. From the very first seconds, the game tries to hook the player with something, but this is unsuccessful.

    No storyline, no plot, no NPCs, none of the stuff that made the rest of the fallit series so successful ull. Do not buy this game. You will be disappointed.

    What an incredibly buggy mess. Even several years in the game feels like an early access title. Plus outrageous microtransactions. How sad that the gaming industry has fallen this far. Gaming used to be fun, but it's now nothing but battle passes and corporate greed. It's honestly toxic.

There are markers telling you where every person is on the entire world at all times and to "fight" you have to both walk over, shoot each other 1 time to challenge each other so there's no surprises or excitement possible, and only if both people do that can they start fighting.)

    The player-versus-environment experience is no better. There are zero NPCs in game other than a few vendor robots who stand still and do nothing much. The non-existent story is just some random text on computer consoles, like bad writing from the dregs of fanfiction dot net. Enemy AI is so bad that it can't escape the worthless story by being a good combat game. Enemies will run helplessly face-first into a tree for 5 minutes while you shoot their hand. Defense missions will never end because enemies are running into walls instead of even making it to the objective. I've never had one single engaging, difficult or fun fight in FO76. Every single one was either mindlessly easy, with auto-aim at the press of a button, a backpack of 30 instant heals and the AI that's too slow to ever catch a player who wants to just kite them or it was a tedious bullet-sponge affair where the enemy was still absolutely terrible but had 50,000 HP somehow because it's level 40. If I had infinite ammo, I could kill a level 100 enemy at level 1 in FO76 because the enemies are incapable of any real combat, the only thing they have is a big HP bar. The current game has worse combat than a free flash game on a shady adult website.

    Progression system is terrible just like every single other thing in this mess of a game. It feels like there's 3 total weapons if you theme a character (like revolvers, or rifles, or laser guns) so it's an MMO with nothing at all to actually do. None of my characters in actual good games such as borderlands 2 have ever felt like there were only three total weapons. Actual non-FO76 games have hundreds of weapons or variants with different stats. FO76 you just scrap 500 combat rifles and then click a few times to instantly get the one best combat rifle, so there's zero actual hunting and min-maxing for gear. Bethesda has no clue whatsoever how to actually make an MMO game. Like day 1 world of warcraft ten years ago actually had hunting for gear which FO76 lacks since you just get XP and make whatever item is wanted.

    There's no endgame at all. Once you have whichever of the three total rifles you want and have a full set of perks, you just have infinite money and nothing worth doing with it. The game is already lacking any difficulty at all, so there's no real cash-sinks to progress towards. There's no player economy with trading because the game has no items that people would want to buy. They can already beat everything with the basic crafted one.

    All the multiplayer really does in the game is mean that it's the only modern fallout game where bethesda's terrible game design, terrible programming and terrible art design cannot be modded into something enjoyable. Some companies like Creative Assembly are guilty of releasing bad games that they use steam workshop to have modders change into good games without being paid to do it. But bethesda has removed even that possibility, ensuring FO76 is 0/10 at launch and will never at any point become a good game in the future. It would require a complete rebuilding of the entire game engine and the entire economy and the entire combat system from the very ground up. The chances of that happening are zill. So this game feels like a disappointing ten dollar mod to Fallout 4. It is no surprise that very few people are happy if they were tricked into thinking it would be an actual video game.    … Expand

A train wreck basically. No attention was put into the details, constantly you have to look for Jim, for Frank for Anna... they are all dead! They are all dead because there are no NPCs in this game. So you are forced to go look for a person but you know exactly he will just be a corpse because the whole mechanic doesn't exist. It's so incoherent, the gameplay is miserable, graphics look bad.. On the backend the situation is tragic, you can basically see the IPs of other players in plain text and the game speed is bound to the FPS (yes exactly, like they used to do in the 90s) and i could go on for days. If you buy this game without being an ignorant casual you deserve no respect. You are a short sighted person who rewards bad companies for bad work and i can only hope your actions won't lead other SH to follow.… Expand

The game itself is not challenging or engaging in any way.     The crafting menus are horrible and the mechanics of building your own base are equally as bad. Extremely limited crafting options, clunky inaccurate maps, boring lifeless quests, difficult to navigate terrain and to top it all off, a storage cap! So at some point you have to start trashing your beloved loot and even crafting supplies just to be able to WALK because you're only allowed 400lbs of "My Stash" storage.

    I'm so angry i'm going to go burn a copy of the game files to CD so I can put them in the microwave and watch them burn. Bethesda, you f^&*ed up this time.    … Expand

For a fallout game, if you can vall it that, its pretty awful. I hope bethesda work hard on their future singleplayer games as Im a little bit worried about them considering that their lack of quality has diminished recently.

I've watched over the years and the quality of their games have been ever so steadily dropping, circling the drain as their RPG mechanics are stripped out or dumbed down and their stories are simplified (and cease to make any sense (For a point of reference, I'm in the middle of doing a near full analysis of Fallout 4, the first video alone was two hours long and it very much looks like the next two videos will be equally long and that's not even counting the DLC))

    Fallout is a series that has a place in the heart of many gamers and it isn't simple brand loyalty. Fallout has become an established series rooted deeply in player choice, characters, world building, storytelling and it's RPG mechanics, something Bethesda has tragically stripped out from each game. The change of format from an Isometric RPG to a first person one isn't a game breaker for Fallout, however removing everything from Fallout that MADE it Fallout is.

    Fallout 76 presents a vast and empty world, in which there are no characters and nothing to do but wander aimlessly. No characters = no story. While there are in fact quests and a supposed main story, they essentially boil down to generic tasks for you to complete while any attempted semblance of story is crudely vomited at you via drawn out audio logs. Without characters in the world, there is no investment in completing quests as your actions are meaningless to the world and exist solely as vague "things" to keep the player busy. All quests are presented by a holotape, a computer terminal, a note or a dead body and they all end in the same fashion or just at random when you complete the objective. Many of these quests will also just dump random "loot" items into the player's inventory upon completion, even if the goal of the quest was to find a cache of loot anyways.

    Bethesda must have taken the criticisms of Fallout 4's story and dialogue system seriously and their solution was to just remove them entirely. All you're left with is a world full of loot to aimlessly gather, enemies to shoot at and raising your character's S.P.E.C.I.A.L. for no real reason.

    To top it all off, Fallout 76 is a buggy mess as well. I have no idea why fans of Bethesda have let them get away with their buggy games for so long, but prior to the release of Fallout 76, it had become a meme and something people joke about, but ultimately have given Bethesda a pass on. There's already countless videos out detailing the many bugs, glitches and errors. During my playtime, I had enemies fall through the world, dead enemies floating mid-air as physics stopped working and numerous enemies teleporting about just to name a few.

    The game was laggy during my entire playtime as well, there was constant stuttering and pausing and near freezing. This made the game near impossible to play, especially in combat, as it made aiming at any enemies about 10 times harder than it should have been. There was at least twice I thought the game had frozen or crashed.

    Speaking of combat, most of the enemies I encountered didn't do too much damage. If you let them pick away at you, they could kill you, but otherwise they weren't much of a threat. I know there are more enemies in the game, but I only encountered just a few in my 3 hours of play. Weapon and armor durability is back, much to my surprise and as much as I disliked it being removed from Skyrim and Fallout 4, I wish they hadn't added into Fallout 76, as combat is already a chore. This is made worse by the fact that you need to access your Pip-boy to switch weapons if one breaks. This is also an issue when you run out of ammo and need to switch weapons. As this is a multiplayer game, the game does not pause while you're in a menu, meaning as you're scrolling through your Pip-boy, which is still a pain to navigate, the enemies are still hitting you.

    In addition to all those reasons for combat being awful, weapons and armor are now level-gated like an MMO. It makes sense for World of Warcraft to prevent a level 1 player from equipping an item that gives stat bonuses meant for a level 120 character, it doesn't make sense for Fallout to have this as well, even in a multiplayer setting. This essentially forces the player to use the awful Pipe guns straight from Fallout 4 for the early game. This also leads to situations were you can't strap a metal bracer to your leg as armor because you're not a high enough level, which is just plain silly.

    In addition there is a microtransaction shop, complete with virtual currency and a scaling pricing system to buy this fake currency for in-game items. I don't know the exact exchange rate on these "Atoms," but as far as I can tell worthless outfits your character can wear will cost a few bucks each and odds are, you won't get much use out of them.

    "It just works" yeah it loads up and I can get in the game, sometimes. Thats not saying much and why it got a 1 from me and not a zero. Had it been a zero, the game wouldnt start, so Ill give it that.

    Bethesda should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for releasing this masterpiece of a con-job. They did this on purpose. There is nothing more really to say. They fleeced good people of their money and honestly should be reported to the Better Business Bureau for fraudulent advertisement.

    RIP Fallout. We will miss you.

The water looks like fake milk, the AI looks and moves terrible, you can't hit any of the physical world with your machete, the physics sync is completely off in multiplayer, the sounds are garbage, and there is no movement if you hit an enemy.

    I thought I would give this game a try since I have liked other Bethesda games such as Morrowind, and even Fallout 4. I am charging this stupid game back and will never support this company ever again.

    I would highly recommend returning this game if you purchased it as we can't let companies like this continue to get away with taking our money and producing terrible games, as the problem will continue to get worse.    … Expand

Why can the fanmade TES3MP provide that almost flawlessly for Morrowind with only 2 developers working off tiny donations, while Bethesda had a budget of tens of millions of dollars here and got nowhere close to that?     Love Fallout 4, hoping for more with this game. They have the idea of the CAMP and if there is someone at your place on a different server your CAMP gets put away....blueprints can bring it back...unless there was damage from anything (a bloatfly maybe). If you don't have the material to completely repair every aspect you get NO CAMP. Hours of hard work is gone. Contacted tech supportLove Fallout 4, hoping for more with this game. They have the idea of the CAMP and if there is someone at your place on a different server your CAMP gets put away....blueprints can bring it back...unless there was damage from anything (a bloatfly maybe). If you don't have the material to completely repair every aspect you get NO CAMP. Hours of hard work is gone. Contacted tech support which basically said we can't help and have turrents (I had 8 with overlapping fields of fire). Wanted so much more for this game, but there is a reason it dropped in price and has 80% of negative reviews. Bethesda maybe will get it right with fallout 5....not multiplayer. So many bugs, many deaths as the timing goes out as mutants disappear as a glitch....not ready for prime time.… Expand

    This should have been apart of then Fallout 4 DLC pass. To pass this off as a game by itself is a hilarious. I recommend all of you to steer clear from this game until its marked off by at least 60% and is fixed by the modding community, if that becomes a thing in this game.

    Fallout 76 represents a big disappointment and the lowest point of the series so far. Riddled with bugs, repetitive and dull gameplay, nonexistent story and outdated graphics, it fails as a both multiplayer and singleplayer experience for fans and newcomers alike.

    Miracles do happen once in a while and No Man’s Sky proved that sometimes it is possible to get back on your feet even after a terrible failure. Right now though Fallout 76 is botched spectacularly on so many levels that even talking about this game is a waste of time. [01/2019, p.46]
