    Under no circumstances is a full-priced game with microtransactions acceptable to me.
    $60 is too much for a game like this
    F76 is cash flow optimized to milk the customers.
    Bethesda should rather change their engine and publish bug-free games.

    After playing the game for 50+ hours I feel like there's not much content left. The game is fun with friends but is boring when solo. The Fps spikes on console makes you only able to use semi-auto or slow shooting fully automatic guns. The pvp system needs a lot of work, respawns shouldn't be right next to the other player also when PvPing on console the game crashes or experiences lagAfter playing the game for 50+ hours I feel like there's not much content left.     My overall experience of fallout 76 was okay but Bethesda ripped off players who bought the game early with changing the price 1 week later. Also they basically copy and pasted fallout 4 and made very little improvements if any from fallout 4, they have the same glitches that were present in fallout 4.    … Expand

    2 minutes ago I registered a metacritic account just to **** on this shell of a game, it have no substance, empty as hell and the control feels like it was made by digital homicide, the graphics looks horrifyingly horrible compare to every 2018 games that is made by other "big companies", and the server crash on a daily basis.     This game used the same engine, assets, and coding, of Fallout 4. With all that in mind - they knowingly - released a game with NO Story line, NO NPC's, NO combat system (they removed VATS) - there is nothing left to say. Oh! They added online play, and a lot of microtransactions to the game.

This game is so bad that I play it only when my friends are online because that's the only way a person can get an iota of fun out of this game. My friend and I got ambushed by at least 20 super mutants in Grafton by the school and luckily the intense action didn't crash the server for us. Vote with you wallet. I would only consider buying it if it went on sale after it's fixed for 20 or 25 dollars… Expand

    Only glitches, horrible visuals, bugs, high price and total disappointment. Graphical side isn't the most important, there is just nothing to do, it's not an rpg, and not even an MMO, it's not even an online shooter, it's weak attempt to make an online mod for fallout 3 in my opinion. Very bad, i would say it's incredibly bad, nobody expected that, no no no.

That's what they delivered. Gamers need to stop expecting every title to be revolutionary. Gamers need to learn to accept games that are just simply Good.

    If anyone out there is disappointed in this game, it's solely because they were expecting something that was never promised to them by the developers. That's on them. Not Bethesda.    … Expand

    not bad, mixed ratings, nice and particular 3d engine software. But the real thing is why ppl be hatin on game tho? The answer is that Fallot 76 has a slighty bad storyline to it, but the rest is all good (Rating for Game: 8/10)

    EDIT::: I was wrong.... so very very wrong. Honestly any game is probably fun with friends, and this game is the same. But the bugs... my god the bugs. There are just so many... It honestly cripples the game completely. I wanted to love this, I came on here to defend it and gave it a 7/10 and the bugs were SO bad that I had to come back with my hat in my hand asking for forgiveness andEDIT::: I was wrong.... so very very wrong. This game is bad because its broken and in some ways its even broken fundamentally. Dont buy this game unless you want to find yourself miserable at being stuck unable to play it because of legit game crushing bugs (unable to do damage to mobs or players, no loot dropping, mobs glitching constantly, your character becoming completely stuck and unable to move, or interact with objects or just falling through the world repeatedly (those are 3 separate bugs not just one big super bug).

    I've probably put several hundred hours into this game already, currently level 80 right now and I have to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed the game. The negative reviews that you see complaining about bugs, glitches and overall wonky behavior in the game are all true. I dont deny the game has issues (hence the 7/10) but overall the world, the lore and the feeling of exploration and just good ole fashion crazy slaughter are all very fun. The nuclear launches are awesome and if you can get a couple of friends to play this with you the game is very rewarding. I am lucky enough to have a a group of 4 that play this with me and I will admit this likely makes a big difference since the lack of push to talk is pretty bad. They are adding many of the things people are complaining about in future patches but overall I certainly wouldn't give this game a 3/10 as it stands now. This game is fun and if you can roll with the punches of some of the weird stuff that can happen then you'll have fun playing it as well.    … Expand

    The lies, the false advertising and the fact this game is just boring to a new level.

    Fanboys will always give it a 10, ignore them.

    I've played every fallout and this has made me extremely disappointed.

    Time to do what I do with EA, not buy their products anymore.

    I played Fallout 1, 2, 3, New Vegas, Fallout 4, even the terrible Fallout Brotherhood Of Steel strategy game. This game, I don't even know where to start. They took out everything that actually made Fallout games fun and then put it online. No NPC's with any kind of memorable features to them, all generic robots. They replaced all the good enemies in other games with The Scorched. So someI played Fallout 1, 2, 3, New Vegas, Fallout 4, even the terrible Fallout Brotherhood Of Steel strategy game. This game, I don't even know where to start. They took out everything that actually made Fallout games fun and then put it online. No NPC's with any kind of memorable features to them, all generic robots. They replaced all the good enemies in other games with The Scorched. So some doofus at Bethesda thought to remove all people from Fallout series, even from the enemies was a good ideal. The game is not stable, the enemies are boring and stupid (as in the AI). Todd Howard said the game would have a story and quests. The quests are extremely boring, and to even get a quest, you have to talk to a deadpan, characterless featureless robot with no personality, or get a quest from a terminal, or a random scrap of paper on the ground. Players cheated to launch nukes on the first day of the game's launch, something that was supposed to take weeks or months to do, crashing a server on day one. There is no push to talk voice communication in the game, even weeks after the launch of the first online-only Fallout game. We were promised a game that had, memorable stories and quests, that was a flat out lie. We were told the game engine was enhanced and new, also another lie, they simply built upon the Fallout 4 game engine, it is obvious just looking at the game. Grouping in the game can only be done if you can actually find a group of people willing to group up, which does not always happen. Solo play in the game is a joke as well, even though Todd Howard said you could solo play, as in ignoring the other players on the server with you, it isn't actually a feature. You can 'Solo' play in WoW but that isn't something you actually want to do, it feels the same in Fallout 76. This is the worst game Bethesda has released so far, and it is plainly obvious they released it in a fractionally finished state. Graphical bugs galore everywhere, light sources coming straight out of the ground, from inside of a tree or object instead of from the sun, or an actual light source, falling through the ground has happened numerous times as well. I truly regret buying this game as I feel as though I have been had by the E3 presentation as the game is nothing like I was told it would be. For now, I give this game 0 out of 10 in its current state.… Expand

As the most Sandbox/PvP Games, the average gamer doesnt like them, because they dont get what these games are about. Quests? Stupid NPC? who cares? This is a MMO PVP Game.     Конечно я согласен в том что не это не fallout 2 и игра не потянет на 500 часов геймплея но идея вполне годная. КвЭсты есть, задания есть, каждое здание на карте с какой-то историей.
    Что касается воплей про баги, ну да баги попадаются но критичного ничего не встречал, скорее всего вопли про баги в бЭта тесте но на    Очень неплохая игра, начитавшись отзывов ожидал какого-то ужаса, но нет.

    If you are a fan of fallout games, love exploring, taking down big boss enemies, and crafting then you will enjoy the game. I haven't had many bad run ins with other players, and it's fun to team up for end game content. The best part is the atmosphere, it is desolate, dangerous, and scary. It feels like I felt playing fallout 3 for the first time. Scrounging for ammo and fights actuallyIf you are a fan of fallout games, love exploring, taking down big boss enemies, and crafting then you will enjoy the game. I haven't had many bad run ins with other players, and it's fun to team up for end game content. The best part is the atmosphere, it is desolate, dangerous, and scary. It feels like I felt playing fallout 3 for the first time. Scrounging for ammo and fights actually felt dangerous. In New Vegas and Fallout 4 that feeling was definitely missing.

    There are quite a few downsides that most people are probably aware of. The engine is old, so it can strain your PC or console. Bugs are apparent everywhere. Servers are unstable. And the worst part is the weight limit. You can max out in a single room or from 3 enemies, and your "home base" stash limit is only 400 lbs, not even twice your own carry limit. For any packrats, this is a big issue. However, I've found the game much more fun with a weight limit "glitch" so you don't have to worry about that, I just enjoy exploring the game and pick up whatever I can.

    TL:DR: Exploring, atmosphere, and feelings of real danger are great. Rest of the game, ehh.    … Expand

    Pros -
    C.A.M.P placement and customizing is fun Perk System works well Multiplayer makes the game more fun Lots of story if you want to read and listen to holotapes.    Honestly not a bad game.     Lack of initial content... Main story is lacking along with side quests. (Future dlc is free).

    On the positive side, I think this is, far and away, the best world Bethesda has ever created. Their environmental storytelling and worldbuilding remains - as always - top notch. The game is richly atmospheric, and exploring the world - the actual act of wandering and seeing the sights itself, not necessarily the mechanics of it - is a truly rewarding experience. The audio logs and notes,On the positive side, I think this is, far and away, the best world Bethesda has ever created. Their environmental storytelling and worldbuilding remains - as always - top notch. The game is richly atmospheric, and exploring the world - the actual act of wandering and seeing the sights itself, not necessarily the mechanics of it - is a truly rewarding experience. The audio logs and notes, though annoyingly overused, are often quite good, telling a story about a world that failed that's arguably darker than anything Fallout has done before. Hope replaced with despair, good intentions gone horribly wrong, haunting ghost towns that show you exactly what went wrong and how without ever having to tell you... it's got it all. It's genuinely a beautiful world, and that's something that has kept me playing, despite its many, many, MANY flaws. Also, the weapon and armor crafting system, though not perfect, is solid and enjoyable to interact with, as is the versatility of the new perk card system used in leveling up - even if, as I mention below, it has some serious flaws of its own. Plus, you get to explore with friends if you want to, and while it's far from a perfect system, coop in this game is genuinely enjoyable on balance. Finally, building a base is cool, even if it has serious issues (see below).

    On the cons side, let's start with something that simply needs to be said: this game is a buggy, broken mess. There is literally not a single core element of this game working reliably anywhere close to 100% of the time. In fact, without much hyperbole, I think it'd be faster to list the things that DO work reliably than it would be to list the things that DON'T work reliably. Nevertheless, here's a very small sampling of the bugs I've personally encountered or experienced.

    -PvP scaling is completely broken at higher levels.
    -Base building is finicky and buggy. Sometimes you'll just lose your entire base to the void - not saved to storage, not just needing to be placed back down, gone.
    -Sometimes food and drink don't work.
    -Sometimes people become invincible.
    -Sometimes enemies become invincible.
    -Sometimes people can't get into power armor without the game crashing.
    -Sometimes people literally can't get out of power armor.
    -NPCs regularly clip into buildings, each other, the ground, etc.
    -Sometimes hostile NPCs will just stand there, doing nothing, not reacting.
    -Sometimes quests will fail to progress, period, and must be abandoned and restarted... if they can be abandoned and restarted.
    -Sometimes other players turn invisible. Or their armor does. Or their power armor does, turning them into a horrifying deformed monster, as getting into power armor stretches the player model to fit the power armor frame.
    -Sometimes creatures vanish when you kill them, or ragdoll physics off into space and THEN despawn, or fall through the ground, preventing you from looting them. This is great fun when they're a legendary enemy that you just burned most of your ammo and stimpacks killing, just to lose out on the legendary loot that was the point of killing them in the first place.

    Then there's some of the appalling design choices, from a bizarre and inconsistent UI to a non-functional economy to the much-talked about and truly awful tiny S.T.A.S.H. limit. And the lack of an XP sharing system for kills, which can actively punish you for group play. There's the near-total lack of an endgame, the baffling lack of text or push-to-talk voice chat, the strange and ultimately damaging insistence on not using human NPCs in the game, the quite poor balance inherent to perk cards, the poorly thought out crafting costs and item weights, etc, etc.

    Put frankly, this is not a good game. It's just not. It feels like an early beta build, or maybe an Early Access title, but it is frankly insulting that they charged $60 for a game in this state at release. And yes, it's a Bethesda product, and Bethesda products are always buggy... but that really, truly isn't an excuse. It never really has been, but in this incarnation of Fallout, where there are no mods just waiting to fix Bethesda's mess, the fact that Bethesda releases incredibly buggy games is just made painfully apparent. Given how many stellar open world games have come out in the last couple years, Bethesda can no longer coast along on their reputation alone.

    Perhaps this will become a good game. I certainly hope it does - it would be a shame to see such a beautiful world go to waste, and there honestly are some good ideas buried in this mess. But right now, it's not, and it's completely unacceptable for Bethesda to expect people to pay retail price for a game that clearly wasn't anywhere near ready for prime time. If you're interested in giving it a try, I strongly encourage you to wait 6-12 months. If it's going to be a good game, Bethesda needs to get its act together and make it one.     There are too many bugs, mostly game breaking (quests simply freeze, clipping enemies and crates, game crashes in middle of quest, frame drops for no reason on a 1080ti).     At its current state id say stay away. Only buy if it is 15 euros or less as its simply a reskin mod of fo4 which I have also played for 700 hours. I also played the fallout series since Fallout 2.

    Going back to Modded Morrowind. Yes, THAT is much, much better. Picking up Battle for Azeroth for the first time, for MMO. Maybe I'll fulfill my dream of buying a copy of Star Wars Galaxies just to play a better game on community server - I'd rather do this than play F76.

    Does F76 have promise? Yes. Can Bethesda fulfill it's false advertising claims? Yes, hire community modders at good pay to show Bethesda what REAL game developers are like. Bethesda shows itself to be a has-been company with F76. I'm going back to waiting 6 months before buying a Bethesda game.

    My hopes for F76? That Bethesda will have a nearly finished product by November of 2019. Or that Bethesda sells the IP to another company that is willing to? Not lie about a game. Actually produces something other than garbage and cares about the Fallout franchise.

    Fallout 76 is an okay game. By far not as good as the sp games and it has a lot of even game breaking bugs, but it's not that bad. It won't be my favourite game ever, but I like it. It can be fun while playing with friends.
    But they really have to fix those annoying bugs and should really get some PR people that don't screw it up much more...

I encountered few minor bugs and nothing that can change or ruin my game experience. Graphics is not new, not the last and the best, but it does its work and it run smooth on my PC at ultra settings.

    Additionally, the story and setting would be a million times better if they just rolled the in-universe clock back a little while the where all the humans were dying instead of dead. We have terminal entries and notes about all these cool apocalyptic events as the scorched expanded, and we don't get to be there. Instead we get to fight buggier, damage spongier alduin as the final boss.

    Final score: 3/10 instead of 6/10.

    Fallout 76 is a good concept and has enjoyable core gameplay. However, as the opening days grew on the servers started acting funny and bugs and glitches became more common. Additionally, the day 1 patch that was promised never arrived (on PC): it's still version 1.0.0.6 like during the last of the beta.

    Locations and quests tend to be hit and miss, but overall they're ok enough.

    The economy and item storage limitations however hurt this game the most: you can neither store items nor sell them easily, as merchants have small, slow replenishment cap pools, and are linked in a handful of factions, and you can't barter either, and even when you buy something the merchant only has a fraction of what you paid with afterwords (about 1/4), so you can't even trade for your caps back.

    These issues shouldn't be hard to fix and yet there's only been vague promises, and they ultimately relegate what could have been a 7-8/10 to a 6/10.    … Expand

    Right off the bat, it is a buggy and laggy mess. The only thing I found to be fun or cool about this game, was the new creatures they had introduced. I would never be able to recommend this game to anyone, if I did so, I would be lying to there face by calling it a good game. Bethesda really missed the mark with Fallout 76. I do hope that they do not release buggy unfinished games in the future.

    I would not listen to 0's or 10's, even 4 is pretty harsh. Fun game, the environments are very good, enemies are interesting, best voice acting (from holotapes) in a Bethesda game period. Fun game, the environments are very good, enemies are interesting, best voice acting (from holotapes) in a Bethesda game period.     After completing every main and side quest and doing most of the dailies and events I can safely say that I have wasted my time. The entire experience was littered with bugs ranging from minor visual glitches the whole way to bugs that stop you from dealing damage, cause your own gun to kill you, make the game drop to 5 fps, and just rampant crashing and server disconnects.

    This is the most despicable and pitiful AAA release I have ever played in my entire life. The only way this would be impressive is if it was a mod because that's what it feels like. It feels like something that a few modders spent a year doing and felt it was in a good enough state to release. If it was just a mod everyone would love it! But this is a AAA release by Bethesda themselves and it is essentially a big middle finger to the players.

    Reasons not to buy this game:

    1: Gameplay loop that gets incredibly dull long before finishing the game.

    2: PvP is the worst I've ever seen in any big multiplayer release that has PvP. It's clear that no one knew how to make a multiplayer game at Bethesda.

    3. Rampant bugs. I firmly believe that it is one hundred percent impossible to play for just thirty minutes without running into a bug minor or major.

    If you are on the fence about buying this game, think in your head how it would feel to hang yourself whilst vomiting and spewing diarrhea everywhere, that is the experience of playing this game.    … Expand

    Although the game is not perfect, and really does have a lot of work to be done to improve it, there is definitely a hate band wagon that is affecting this game more than it should. In many ways the game is still in beta, and probably should've been a free beta rather than a preorder beta so that everyone knew what they were getting into. Quests currently feel empty and unfulfilling, and quests really are the selling point of the Fallout games.
    If you don't know whether or not you want this game yet, I would say unless you have some friends to play with or you are a hard core Fallout fan that wants to experience the prequel lore in this game, you should probably wait for Bethesda to make some fixes.     It is actually my favourite game from bethesda, ever - I never had so much fun from any of their games, and I played most of them.
    It is EXTREMELY underrated!
    10/10, It is amazing to explore, run into other survivors, roleplay, create factions and survive!

    I won't be going into what this is as of right now - that one can read everywhere else. I'm going to tell you what this game will never be - it will never be fixed. Engine used to create this game has too many limitations, Bethesda is not able to fix the bugs nor add content requested by people because it is technically impossible. Fallout 76 will stay as is forever.

    Copy paste from Fallout 4, add in a bucketload of bugs so that it's basically unplayable, take out all the NPCs and story that made it interesting. You get Fallout 76, a boring complete waste of time. Thanks Todd for No Man Skying the Fallout series. Never buying Bethesda again.

    Pros:
    --Story (This one some of you might disagree with me on -- I actually find the story to be extremely interesting, though extremely short. I love the personal tales of West Virginians who did or didn't make it to any kind of shelter. You can see a lot of great storytelling through holotapes and terminals, much like reading a book. That being said, it's pretty questionable how it ties into the lore whatsoever)
    --Lots of potential
    --Fun with friends (though honestly, there's very few things in the world that aren't more fun with friends)
    --Good time waster (Easily sunk 40 hours into the game, at least until it started to get too repetitive for me to want to continue)

    Cons:
    --Glitches and Bugs (easily thousands, at least 20-30 of which completely destroy the playability of the game)
    --No motivating factors to complete quests (In many games like Fallout:NV or Skyrim, there would be quests that you'd receive from a distressed NPC, and you'd feel that motivation to go save their friend/retrieve their special item immediately. Depending on the quest, that even had an impact on the later game! Not so in 76!)
    --Quests are bland and boring (FETCH. QUESTS. I've been racking my brain on this one and I can't think of a single quest in this game that amounted to more than "Go here. Get this item/kill this enemy/clear this dungeon. Return.")
    --Repetitive gameplay (What is there really left to do after launching a nuke and killing the Scorchbeast Queen? Go scramble around for more junk? Complete more fetch quests/events?)
    --PVP (LOL Nobody on Bethesda even thought about how to make this enjoyable. This could be as easy as what World of Warcraft does. Designate PvP and PvE servers, and allow players to choose. No "duel" system, none of that garbage. Let me battle ANYONE within 10 levels of me [to avoid ganking] on a PvP server whether they're aware of it or not. There's no fun in setting up an ambush on another group if they can see you on the map, and if they have to shoot you back to actually engage in combat.)
    --Leveling System (Why do I level up if the levels mean nothing? I understand wanting to keep the game difficult, but the levels don't even matter! As a level 18, I was able to kill multiple level 68 scorched with very few issues, but struggled against a level 20-something Deathclaw.)
    --Price Drop (Are you kidding me? I paid $60 for this game, and less than a week after release, it's selling for $35. I understand you want to sell the game by any means necessary, but my god Bethesda, way to dump on your pre-order/release day fans.)
    --Gameplay Issues (The Pip Boy is designed terribly and the menus are overall clunky. This isn't an issue in single player Fallouts, where the game pauses while you access your menu, but in 76 it is truly a nightmare. Live-action VATS is also poorly executed in my opinion, and I also find that clunky and difficult to use.)
    ***--Bethesda Response to Controversy (I'm sure by now the "canvas to nylon bag" switcheroo is common knowledge, but if not, here's a brief summary: Bethesda's collector's edition of the game cost $200~ and came with a replica T-45 Power Armor Helmet, and a canvas bag to put it in. When people got their orders, they found that the bag is actually nylon. This is false advertising and controversial in itself, but it gets worse.)

    ***They offered 500 Atoms (approx. $5 worth of in game currency) to anyone affected by this. That's a spit in the face alone, but even better is the fact that in the United States, that is legally considered an out-of-court settlement and means that anyone that takes the Atoms deal is not allowed to sue for false/deceptive advertising, which leads me to believe this wasn't even a genuine "Yeah, we messed up, sorry guys", but was in fact a scheme devised to avoid as much legal liability as possible. This is no longer the Bethesda we know and love.)

    This game really has/had the potential to be the best game in the series. After all, I really think all people wanted was a Fallout 5 with co-op. God knows that's all I wanted. Instead I got this mess of a game that, had I waited one week, I could've got for $35 instead of $60.
    It's not the worst game I've ever played in my life. I've had a few funny moments with my buddies. It could've been a good game. That's about all the praise I can muster up for this game.

    Had to make an account just to make sure that this sort of developer behavior cannot continue, just another rehash of any other Bethesda game. Would of been a good game around the time Oblivion came out.

    I was a fan of Fallout games for many years, however this game just doesn't really know what its trying to achieve. Its filled with bugs, 0 story line, every mission is go here, kill this, go here pick up this. I feel totally ripped off to be honest, the hype at E3, trailers all looked great.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. the games story mode suck i mean like there is not a story at all so many bugs in the game there pvp sucks you can not kill someone unless they hit you theres no real end game at the end of all of that theres nothing really there to keep you playing this for a long time like other online games you get to the end of the game and all you get is to kill stuff and nothing to really keep you wanting to go back for more they should have made it so you do it to get things to make some really good stuff you cant get in the world with out making it .
    but i am a fan of the game and for now i will keep playing and hoping things get fixed but when you get to the what feels like the end after a week of playing its was not worth what i payed for it    … Expand

    Fallout 76 represents a big disappointment and the lowest point of the series so far. Riddled with bugs, repetitive and dull gameplay, nonexistent story and outdated graphics, it fails as a both multiplayer and singleplayer experience for fans and newcomers alike.

    Miracles do happen once in a while and No Man’s Sky proved that sometimes it is possible to get back on your feet even after a terrible failure. Right now though Fallout 76 is botched spectacularly on so many levels that even talking about this game is a waste of time. [01/2019, p.46]
