Modern games are made for the elite or wealthy. This game is not even on the dual-core processor, I know many people who have been on startup black screen. Because of the new types of protection game lag terribly. A feeling that game developers do not care about users, the main goal is to earn money. I do not advise buying these games. Developers do not care about us, the players.

This game has no redeeming features it is not an RPG it's just an action game with annoying poorly written party members this is the twilight novel of videogames. Poorly written with a bad story.

Trash, Complete and utter trash. Why did they make this game? It is no way a near as good as their previous games like NWN and BG2 I simply refuse to believe that they are from the same developer. This game is truly disgusting it is a crime against humanity.

Let's think about this calmly and rationally. Bad story check. Action game play no role playing elements check. Bugs and glitches check. Inferior to DA:O check.

Basically if you purchase this game you are doing the gaming industry a disservice I got a refund for this trash. You should too.

I just spent about 30 minutes playing around with character customization and playing the actual game for around 15 minutes.

I think this gave me plenty of time to figure out I won't be able to play this game, the models look like they all had bad plastic surgery they move in a very stiff and unnatural manner that just spoils the whole experience. The story and animation is very shallow

A game that panders to the lowest common denominator and all but completely alienates what few bioware fans there were left. This game relies entirely on tricking people into buying it with hype and provides a shoddy pathetic attempt at being an RPG. You would have to be very desperate to play this game.

Cringeworthy writing, mutilated tactical camera, bad voice acting and an awful attempt at open world. The fact that Bioware have gone from Baldur's Gate, Kotor, NWN to this would be funny if it wasn't so sad.

The only thing I could think of to compare to Dragon Age: Inquisition would be if the hottest girl in the world agreed to have sex with you and then you take off her pants and a giant thigh slapper smacks you right in the face. That was Dragon Age for me.

I did enjoy the combat but had difficulties on normal with enemy level scaling and party AI. Had some problems with cut-scenes glitches, the voices and effect not syncing, and invisible walls that limited the partial open world they had. Nothing really memorable about this game except it's great graphics and good voice acting.

If you buy something that is super-hyped up and when it FIRST comes out, then chances are it will be buggy and you will be very disappointed. That is exactly what happened with Inquisition.

The Problems: The combat is disorienting (camera control issues), and is more of a click fest versus strategic. The graphics are okay, but nothing spectacular. Dialogue is generic and at times seemingly pointless. Controlling character via keyboard and mouse is a struggle, especially so during combat (no auto-attack). The menus are not sized right, and thus cumbersome to work with. Too often companions will do this 'instant teleportation' where they pretty much fall out of the sky besides you if the distance between you and them gets too great. If you are looking for immersion, this probably won't cut it for you, and contrary to what has been said - I didn't find it an open world at all. Case in point - combat to me means sometimes pulling back (trying to get away). Being chased down, running for your life is fun. Inquisition, you have none of this, as NPC's seem range bound to a specific area. If you step within their area they come after you, but the moment you step out - you don't exist to them. Besides these points, the game overall is just plain boring. There is nothing that grabbed my attention. No 'wow' factor, just a big bloated, clunky game, that tries to do everything and as a consequence doesn't do any one particular thing exceptionally well.

The last point I want to mention is the story. It is uninspired, boring, and though I realize it could get better with time - how much time we talking? If the story can't grab me within the first 12 hours, then sorry you have missed the mark

Honestly, I really wanted to like this game. I totally bought the hype up, and preordered it. That will be the very last time I ever do that again with any game. Really disgusted with the professional/critic reviewers for giving Inquisition stellar reviews of 85% and up (one of them gave it a 100% - someone is on Bioware or EA payroll). I just can't see how anyone could play this and give it above 80% - unless maybe this is the first game they ever played and have no reference point.

Not to mention the other weaknesses of this game such as poor voice acting and equally poor graphics, even on the highest settings. The actors sound like strangers pulled off the street, with stiff and cold voice-overs even Microsoft Sam could trump. The UI (User Interface) is a horrific butchering of DA1's, with stats reduced to nothing but bars. The entire menu miraculously feels incredibly cluttered even though it's throwing LESS statistics and overall information at you.
I really wanted to give Bioware the benefit of the doubt and hope ME3 was the sign that they should clean up their act, but it's become clear that they're set in their ways. I will probably never purchase a Bioware product again thanks to this complete mess.

Everything from the writing to the animations are atrocious, and the ending beggars belief in how horribly handled it is. Breaking every promise that was given to us and pandering far harder than any title I know of, this game has become a landmark achievement in failure. The combat is also very poorly done but that's somewhat forgivable since this is an RPG where story takes precedent. Sadly, the story here is, as I said, horribly written (which is the most I can say without giving away spoilers).
Honestly the only saving grace which really can't even be called that considering how poorly written this tripe is, is Cassandra. Her voice actress, her character and admittedly even her design are all well executed. Sadly the rest of this game can be executed in a different fashion, by being purchased used.

EA does not deserve your money for a product so poorly designed, so atrociously written, and so mind-bogglingly constructed.

Anyways, lets me get to why I gave a negative score to Dragon AgeThere is a lot of bloating being done by EA employees and fans on one side and EA haters on another. If you want to get a real understanding of whether or not to play this game, I would recommend watching a silent play through of the prologue and some random scenes. You shouldn't rely solely on these reviews alone. Anyways, lets me get to why I gave a negative score to Dragon Age Inquisition. First let me try to keep my history with the Dragon Age series short and sweet. Dragon Age Origins was the first game that I played which granted me a lot of freedom that I was not used to seeing from a game. It gave a Dungeon and Dragons sort of feeling that was fun. The mechanics, story, characters, and so much more left me quite hopeful for the future of this series back in 2010. Dragon Age II comes along, and I was sort of disappointed. It was an okay game with its own ups and downs, but it did not give off the same sort of freedom and atmosphere that Origins had provided. The game had a linear story, and I, along with many others, assumed that it functioned rather as sort of prequel or prologue to Dragon Age III. I was renewed with happiness and excitement while waiting for this game. Up until about year and a half ago, when I looked more into this series that I enjoyed, I started to lose hope for it. First it came with the delay. I understood that they wanted to perfect it before release and added the multiple origin feature to the game, but I was still disappointed in the delayed release. I started looking into some of the writers, developers, and other people who were working on the series, and my heart sank in my chest. I will not be naming names, but some of them did not even play video games or seemed to be appropriate. Some of their previous works were far below par in contrast to what one would expect for such a big name title. After some time, there was the 30 minute game play release; I was hopeful. I was then disappointed again. I noted a lot of clipping issues, poor game play mechanics, and just terribly writing. I had planned on not getting this game for some time either used or when the price dropped, but a friend of mine had gotten me a copy as a present. (It was an PlayStation 3 copy, and I was used to playing these games on the desktop computer, so that may have skewed my opinion on it.) So I spent the night playing it yesterday. It was bland and bad. The graphics were below my expectations. Textures seemed very clunky or rough. The characters were fairly unattractive and disappointing. There were a lot of bugs with some scenes and game play (which I was aware of ahead of time from the game play presentation but not for those horrid scenes). The animations were very robotic, rigid, or stiff; it was as if the game was made a decade ago. The dialogue and writing was compatible to what I would expect to find on a fan fiction website or deviant art. The companion characters themselves were varying. I do not want to give to my spoilers, but one character was just particularly terrible in regards to interaction. They also seemed to be aimed at one general opinion which was disappointing. Rather than a diverse group of characters with different opinions, there was just different wrapping on them. That is not to say there were clones of each other or agreed with everyone else, but it is hard to explain with providing spoilers. Let me go on to most important part, the game play. It was not fun. There were bugs with the camera and enemy AIs. The mechanics and level system was not improved much from Dragon Age II. It is described by one YouTuber as being as if it was an MMO. I am not fond of most MMO games, so this may be why I am not fond of the game play. There is more that I could go into about this game, but I do not believe that will change your feelings on this game. When it comes down to it, you can either to play it or do not. After telling my opinion on it, I can not sway your curiosity. Even I wanted to see it, but instead of buying it new or at the current price, wait for used copies to be sold, a decrease in price, borrow it, rent it, or something where you don't spend too much on it. If you like it, support the developers and give your opinion on it. If you do not like it, don't support the developers and give your opinion why. I would also recommend that you do not trust most of these game reviews by "professionals" critics as they tend to be more dishonest then a used car salesman. So either buy it or don't. I would recommend you don't and just borrow it from a friend if you have to buy it. Expand

I am struggling to put in to words how bad it is, you almost have to experience it for yourself. I played a mage for a couple hours and a melee character for a couple hours. The mage wasn't too bad. It's pretty much point and click. The melee was beyond useless. The camera jumps around like crazy, from 15 feet behind your character to almost a first person view, especially against bosses. This makes it incredibly frustrating to actually land attacks. So many miss, and with the long attack animations makes for a death sentence.

The "tactical camera", if you can call it that, is barely higher than the zoomed out 3rd person view. It doesn't give even close enough to a big enough view of the battlefield.

The camera is so bad that you'll constantly be accidentally clicking new party members trying to focus your attacks as the camera has a seizure.

The WASD controls with Q and E to strafe are so clunky I feel like I'm playing Super Mario Brothers on Nintendo.

There's a reason the console user reviews of this game are 2-3 points higher - it's a blatant console port. I'm going to give it a whirl with a controller, but if you plan on playing this game with a keyboard and mouse (which worked beautifully in DAO), save your time and money.

Plus let's not forget about the settings. I tried to set the graphics to have a very decent view without killing my eyes in the process of playing and focusing. But here the problems never stop. When I played 5 min my laptop shut down with no reason. I entered again the after 5 min again shut down. WTF I have a laptop which I payed 4500 Euros for (it has one year since I bought this laptop) and I made it especially for this type of games but after I saw that it shuts down my laptop for now reason I quit the game totally.

For me having a state of the art laptop and it shuts down because of this game is just to ........ .

To end this I saw the reviews and I want to say this: "Guidance from EA" pffff let's not forget what they did to DA2 plus EA is just looking for your money. As long as you give them what they want they do not give a damn about you sorry for the truth. WAKE UP PEOPLE AND STOP SLEEPING. Next gen games - if this is the example then it will collapse the game community totally.

I can hardly believe that this game has high scores but I think the game reviewers where either drunk or drugged or both. Sorry for my bad language but they KILLED THE DA SERIES TOTALLY.

    Dragon Age: Origins - OMG game, amazing story, amazing in all that is amazing;

I'm not saying I want this game to be the next DA:O in terms of gameplay etc, I'm okay with a brand new system but DA:I simply failed in almost every aspect. The combat feels clunky and sluggish, the characters' textures and models are just horrid and weird, the voice acting quality is under par, the tactical camera is basically unusable on PC, the user interface is so not PC friendly (yes they said they're fixing it), the story is mediocre at best, the skills system and variation are very little, the Tactics (AI settings for characters) is very very horrible and simplified as though as this is a mobile game.

Now for the MP, the amount of active skills you can bring to a mission is 4 maximum, so most of the time I just press and hold left mouse button to auto attack. There's not even a number indicator on both the HP bar and MP/Stamina bar. The worst part of the MP is they're using P2P for the MP, about 80% of the time I simply got dc'ed and no, there's nothing wrong with my connection, I played WoW, Diablo 3, RIFT, Dragon Nest, Battlefield 4, CS:GO, FF XIV etc perfectly and no major dc just like DA:I. I already try to clear the TCP/IP, change the DNS, turned off my firewall and AV but still dc'ed a lot. Also even when I got connected and got a "bad" host, the game is simply lagged a lot due to P2P system.

How is this getting 80+ from critics on the PC platform? This is a terrible console port.

The Keyboard/Mouse functionality and 'tactical' combat are awful and those are two of the three areas (along with graphics) that should set the PC version apart from the console versions.

If you must have the game, get it on a PS4.

It's too much of a disaster to go into at length, because it's not worth the time. Suffice it to say that if you want a dumbed-down, tedious, difficult to control, poor-looking (even on Ultra it's pretty lame, check out facial expressions, for example. It's all very "static" and very "gamey". Honestly, DAO and DA2 both look fantastic in comparison in all the ways that matter to an RPG), button-mashing ADHD pre-teen action game, then this might be just what you are looking for. If you want an epic, glorious, character-and-story driven, gorgeous, atmospheric, cinematic, memorable, RPG, then this is not for you. Don't believe the good reviews. DA:I Is honestly one of the most disappointing games I've ever played, certainly up there with BRINK.

From the very beginning the story has awful pacing, questionable consistency, and overall a lack of interaction and connection with the player and player-character. As the story progresses the 'meaningful choices' boil down to the same basic decisions we've seen in every western RPG for the past decade going as far back as I've been in this hobby.

Dialogue is absolutely atrocious, as are the awkward pauses mid-conversation, and the very limited and developer-biased choices you have in them. In several points of the game when the game doesn't directly punish you for selecting certain dialogue options, you often come to points where there IS NO DIFFERENCE IN ANY OF THE DIALOGUE CHOICES; not even a different response from the people you're talking to, but sometimes from the player character as well!

On the topic of dialogue, as with the previous games & Bioware's Mass Effect trilogy, almost every selectable option in dialogue is a summary; so there are dozens of situations where the outcome of a choice is obfuscated by the game's poor condensation of what was going to be done/said.

The dialogue isn't the only place the game's writing suffers however, characters are bland and forgettable, or worse disgusting caricatures of transgendered and homosexual people (Which I find absolutely offensive as a gay male myself when one of the characters literally has no personality outside of LOOK AT ME IM SO GAY IM SUCH A **** I LOVE MAN ASS AND COCK.); the story is also in shambles for most of the first 2 acts, and even when everything finally ties together proper for the player to actually be involved and care about it; even I had a hard time giving the slightest damn about the story, despite having loved DA:O and enjoyed DA2.

Another issue with the game is it's complete dismissal of the lore of the first 2 games, whether it's turning Quan into giant-horned cartoon characters and completely retconning their society and culture from DA:O, to completely bastardizing and changing things in the established history, which was one of the series' strongest points due to the numerous chances you got to delve into the histories of places and read the lore of people and events in the universe.

(Note: There is a large issue with ignored decisons from DA:O/2, but that's too large a list to tackle in this simple review.)

The characters don't stop at being blatant cardboard cutouts of sexualities and life choices however; what's even worse is the forced romances; an Issue from DA2 that has carried over in spades. Unlike in Bioware's ME trilogy where romances culminated at key points no matter who you pursued and gave you the option to turn that character away if you weren't pursuing anyone; DA:I seems to think that the Player-Character wants to be ridden like the town bicycle and constantly throws awfully written romance attempts at the player, which at worse cause the character to permaneatly react negatively to you if you refuse their advances, and at best you ACCIDENTALLY ACCEPT and get some of the worst, most terribly animated sex scenes I've seen since, well, DA2.

Now then, onto the meat of the game: Combat. As many others have said it plays like a single player MMORPG. This is not a compliment. The strategic mode is effectively unneeded outside of a few select types of enemies and bosses that require frequent re-casting of certain abilities. What's worse is that almost every encounter in the game can be beaten by ordering one party member to Hold Ground a suitable distance away, while the rest suicidally charge in and endlessly respawn.

Player Progression is laughable at best, and DA:O and DA2 both had better systems in place for the very shallow and thinned trees of progression; not to mention this streamlining of actual content led to things like the removal of most routes of Healing, leaving you with just a bag full of potions to guzzle.

The music is actually kind of alright, though most of the other sound design is mediocre AT BEST, ranging from entirely out-of-place spell sound effects to misplaced sounds when doing certain things (Sounds of wooden floor while running outside in the snow, etc) to generally unsatisfying and silly/cartoony sound design for simple attacks and actions.

The graphics are an absolute shame compared to the art direction of DA:O; and even DA2 had superior atmosphere. Textures and objects constantly pop-in from a pitiful distance, some models dont have hands, facial features, or feet for civilians, and things that are out-of-the-way often have 24x24 pixel textures stretched over low-poly models (This is especially bad when inside buildings).

Final Thoughts: Absolutely mediocre game, disappointing ending to trilog

Things like poor cutscenes and dialogue that reads like it was written by a 12 year old. Wait, that's not fair to 12 year olds; it's like it was written by a 12 year old moron, not a normal 12 year old. The graphics, even set to max quality on every setting, are incredibly disappointing. Cutscenes are choppy even on a system playing the actual game itself of 60+ fps. If you want a basic unthinking and repetitive action game, then you might think this is OK, IF the fix the controls or if you already own a game console controller which you can plug in. There are already plenty of repetitive actions games (which can be incredibly fun, no doubt), but that's not what Bioware and Dragon Age were always about. With this realease I think we can safely say that Bioware no longer really exists. What exists where Bioware used to be is something else, maybe something trying to become ID software.

It would be nice if Metacritic had a review system for their "professional critic" reviews, because just like DA2, it's completely obvious that these critics reviews had to be bought. The game is basically unplayable. How can an unplayable game get good reviews, period?

the whole gameplay is focused for console use and the pc is just an afterthought.
thats why the mouse/keyboard control just doesn't work, it wasn't designed for it.

What more confusing to me is how they could've come up with this combat system after what they've done in DA.Origin, from an amazing complex and strategic system to this spam mouse clicks and occasionally press 1 2 3. I simply do not understand.

Oh Bioware, you don't know how hard I try to love and appreciate this game but there is just so little to appreciate. Even DA2 was able to compel me to finish the game and still find it interesting. And this... I do not know what this is... All I know is every 5 minutes I need to motivate myself to continue playing, I had to play a movie on another screen to not get bored out of my mind... Right now all I feel is the regret that my purchase might've assisted Bioware's corruption further.

Quests: the main body of quests simply consist from go to point A and kill x enemies, take their claws/meat/skin and bring it to point B or go to point A, find 10 flowers there and bring them to point B. You do not want to do this? Oh well, then you are screwed since you need points generated from these quests in order to be able to play the main story campaign.
Minimap: It is completely blank. There is in arrow showing in which direction you should go to find the quest area - you cannot go straight forward because you have huge mountain in the way - too bad, because there is no terrain displayed on the minimap. So you have to press 'M' to open the large map and check it. You have to do this over and over again just to check you are heading in the right direction.
Combat: There is no auto-attack, so when you are fighting larger boss enjoy crazy clicking. Detection of hits is clunky as well. You are 1 m far away from the enemy - enjoy swinging your sword/daggers in the air. Do you like pausing the game and issuing orders to your companions while solving difficult combat situations? Forget it, it is not possible here. You have to have tactical camera enabled. Which is buggy as hell. That eventually lead me to no pausing game at all (even when I was pausing zealot in DA 1 and DA 2). You want to loot something on the ground? Hmm there is icon of hand displayed, but caution - you have to be like 1 cm away from the object, otherwise you character is not able to loot it.
Conversations had been simplified as well. There is no clever writing as it was presented in DA 1 and DA 2. Despite being huge fan of Bioware and their previous games (I have all expansions to DA 1 and DA 2 and I have played it multiple times) I cannot recommend this game to anyone. I just wanted to warn you - do not spend your money on this game. It is not worth it. If you had the strength and continued to read this "review" till the end - thank you.

There are very few games that I end up exiting out of within 10 minutes of attempting to play. Most of them are obscure indie games and a couple old games that at this point are an eyesore. Only games that came out within last 5 years that I can't play without wanting to throw my keyboard across the room are from EA. This one is one of them.

Controls in this game are absolutely atrocious. I can't even imagine who invented them and figured out how to lay them out. It's torturous, you might as well not bother. No click to move, movement responses are extremely slow, camera controls are probably the most unintuitive thing in existence. Tactical mode took me good 5 minutes of bashing my head against the wall to even try to understand how to navigate. In short?

Graphics? I play on a 4k screen. 4k resolution is a double edged sword. It makes good games look better, it makes bad games look worse (because all the flaws become that much more apparent.) This game looks atrocious on my screen even with all graphics maxed out, textures are worse than the high-res stuff from DA2, animations are twitchy, they still can't figure out how to properly model/texture/animate hands, emotions and expressions pop out only briefly during the line being spoken and then faces return to their static self. It was definitely made for current gen consoles, so it's not as bad as most x360 or ps3 console ports, but nobody in their right mind would honestly say that consoles are anywhere near PC's in terms of performance when you examine high end (and 2x 290x in crossfire is high-end, no matter how you turn it.)

Multiplayer is very similar to ME3 multiplayer, mostly a tacked on experience that has little to do with the rest of the game, but it's basically everything I said above x10. It looks awful, it's terribly gated (limited to 3 starting characters, very little modification, no cosmetic modification available)

I'm sorry, but for a modern game this is absurd, EA/Bioware did literally nothing for the franchise, it's one of the most overhyped, unplayable games of the year, and the fact that it made it to PC is infuriating because there was obviously next to no adjustments made to port it over FROM console version.

The game is a complete joke - it is unplayable on PC, as the controls are what can only be described as a brutal regression in the dark age of computer games.

I can not believe that BioWare have agreed to deliver such a noisy slap in the face of the PC community...

In DAO e DA2 you could simple ctrl+a and click on the position you wanted them to go. Now you have to select the damn tactical camera (if there is no F...CKING tree to block your vision), click one by one to move them, and when you exit it, they forget all of your commands.
-Feels like a singleplayer MMO. There was small side quest ins previous games, but now you are forced to complete them for points in order to unlock the mains quests.

-Having to come back to camp every time you run out of potions to heal.

-No need for strategy, game is too easy if you are just 1 level higher than the enemy, even on nightmare difficulty.

-The way your character accidently becomes the "chosen one" is pathetic.

-War table missions are useless, waiting 2 hours for your scouts to return with 5 herbs.

    Pros
-Beautiful areas to explore, but you only have to unlock 3 of them to complete the mains Story: Hinterlands, Crestwood and Western Approach

Even though my PC is better than the recommended requirements, Dragon Age: Inquisition caused it to crash every 5 to 15 minutes. Hours of troubleshooting with EA's customer service didn't help, nor did any of the suggested solutions posted in various forums. It was completely unplayable. So glad I was able to get a refund. Single worst purchase I've ever made.

Horrible UI made for a console and controller, horrible camera when trying to use the tactical combat that worked so well in Origins (Good luck using it in dungeons or even under a bridge. Even in the open trees constantly obstruct your view)

Chalk this up for EA ruining another great company. Should of known when the doctors took their cash and bailed. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.

In my Opinion it is only a better version of DA2. My main criticism is the tactical view. Yes its back, but bad to handle. The area you could see in DAO with the tactical view was larger and better to handle. It feels like an better action game with a little bit tactic. It seems also that more and more games are designed more for xbox and so on.... I miss the feeling of DAO.

In short - camera, controls, combat system, inventory and UI generally suck so much, that it takes the whole fun away from it. It's clunky, annoying, etc., etc.

If I wanted PS4 game/controls, I'd buy the PS4 version. I regret the money I've put in this. In this state, it's unplayable for me, because it's a row of annoying mouse clicking/camera changing horror, which drives me mad.

While the story itself is ok, the way it is told is much below what it used to be in ME and DE. First of all, they took away your charismatic ability to influence stuff. You just have 3 options to choose from, and they usually don't matter. As far as I can see, there is only one ending, and the story that leads to it is mostly linear too (besides the open terrain with repetitive quests (lots of fetch x of something))

Savegame import is now exclusively via their website. You may or may not like this, but bioware doesn't give a **** about you. The same attitude goes if you want to play the game in a language other than the one where you bought it in (like, in english). Tough luck. In fact they go out of their way to make it difficult for you to do so.

Than there is the Command Center, which is a place where you must go to unlock some next quests. The problem with that is that you never know when you are supposed to go to the Center and you often feel "hanging"

I would venture to say that this is the worst bioware game. Ever

I've never made a review on here, but made one just for this game because i feel lied to by Bioware.

First off, the game isn't actually bad. What is bad is the lack of effort to port this over to PC. Yes, ported it over, it takes 2 seconds to see how this game was made with only console in mind when you play it. All you have to do is look at Character creation right from the start.

First off, the game isn't actually bad. What is bad is the lack of effort to port this over to PC. Yes, ported it over, it takes 2 seconds to see how this game was made with only console in mind when you play it.

All you have to do is look at Character creation right from the start. It doesn't really support mouse, if you try to go more than one up or down, you will see that this isn't allowed. If you try to mouse click in a bar for choice you want, it will only take you one over, not to that spot. Why? Because that's how it works on console. This is a common theme.

Once you actually get in the game.. the control setup. This is the first game in as long as I can remember that makes my hands hurt playing it. The control are all over the place and if you use the mouse wheel to zoom out, you get up going into the tactical camera and pausing the game. I'm not sure whose bright idea this was, but they shouldn't be working at Bioware.

Mouse 1, the key normally used for select in any PC RPG and the past Bioware games.. does an attack no matter if there are enemies near or not. No matter where you are, if you hit mouse 1, it does an attack, and your movement speed is slowed down to a crawl for the next 5 seconds until it resets. This might seem like nothing, but it's annoying as hell.

It's like no one at Bioware played a RPG on PC, which makes no sense since they've made some of the best ones. Some advice here, when it comes to actual combat, it's so much easier just to use tab to select things than use the mouse, I'm not even sure why they made it like that for PC, but they did.

But I think the most annoying thing though is looting.

It's an RPG, so you end up having to loot everything, but in this game.. you need to be standing within about 1-2 feet of what you loot or it won't work. If you click something from a distance, your character will not run over there to pick it up. Why would I expect something simple like that? Because the last Dragon Age games HAD IT. It's like they went out of the way to make sure this game was horrible on PC.

Also, say you need to unlock a door and you are not a rogue. In the old games, you could click on the door, a rogue would say "let me get that for you" and run over and pick the lock. If you are expecting that in this game, sorry, but Bioware didn't care enough to put that in.

This doesn't even cover the frame rate issues, the camera.. (I won't even start about this, but needless to say it makes looting one of the worst experiences ever and combat is a pain at times till you adjust to it. Looting... you never really adjust.)

The Menu setup being designed for console. If you want an example, the best one that comes to mind is how you quit the game. Want to quit? You need to hit ESC, then quit to MENU, then wait for the menu to load up, then go down to Quit Game. There is no option to exit to windows. Why? Consoles don't run on windows or have options to quit like that. Doesn't seem like a lot, but try doing this every single time you want to leave the game, it gets old fast.

I think most of the people who reviewed this game were too lazy to try it out on every platform and only played it on console. No one who played it on windows with all the bugs it has could rate it that high unless they were being paid to. If you are thinking about getting this game, get it on console. If you want to play it on windows, make sure you have a controller.

Also, the DLC for the Deluxe edition..pretty useless. You can't use it right away and when you can, crafted stuff in the game is much better, save yourself the $10 and just get the normal edition.

And yes, I know Bioware went on and on about how this game would be designed with PC in mind, but they lied. As far as they reviews of the PC version posted on here and other sites.. At the time I am writing this, the critic score is 87 and the user rating is 5.6.

In the past, a lot of these issues would have been fixed on the first day with user mods, but Bioware pretty much killed mods for this game because they wouldn't be able to sell DLC otherwise. No, i don't know that for sure, but I am assuming. Again, if you want to play this game.. and it is actually a good game, get it on console. Do not get this game on PC! It wasn't designed to be played on PC even if they released it for that.

The story is very very weak, and the game play itself is extremely repetitive. Bioware decided to Mimic Skyrim in map size and Assassins' Creed in game play, by that I mean, they employ cheap user experience tricks to add hours of game play; they add countless treasure-hunt quests that have no real impact on the game, and World of Warcraft's fighting system that with a "tactical" top down view that really doesn't add much.

This title promised to be engaging, but it falls short as it tries to mimic various games out there. Sadly, they didn't pay a lot of attention to the writing or voice acting. It's a hack and slash game where the main objective is to repetitively wait until cool-downs recharge to win battles, and where picking up items from the floor and walking endlessly probably will make up 50 of the whopping 100+ hours of game play.

I seriously do not recommend purchasing this Dragon Age: Inquisition if you are looking for a quality RPG.
I only hope Mass Effect 4 doesn't follow the same trend.

First, the fights are a joke and insult my intellectual capacities. Seriously, in an RPG I want to be challenged and to solve tough fights with my party. I don't want to want to watch cool animations without really using my brain....
Second, how am I supposed to feel I am THE INQUISITOR if I am running around like a schoolboy earning a few more cents for collecting and delivering rubbish to some unimportant people? Guys, just remember once again when we were playing Baldur's Gate: There was not a single quest that didn't convey the feeling of our importance and that we are really changing events. Oh how I miss the old Bioware (luckily, luckily, luckily we have independent studios that have a good chance of becoming a classical bioware, just look for: divinity original sins and pillars of eternity - so in a way, let Bioware be what it wants to be...).
Anyway, to keep it short: Many people will like Inqusition, but for RPG gamers that want challenging combat, party building and an exciting story that you shape: believe me, don't waste your money on Inquisition. If you still want to have a look at it: wait for a year until there will be special offers.

The game is extremely clunky, the combat has took a giant step backwards. You have to mass click if you want to auto attack because on console that's normal for them, but they forced it on PC users which makes no sense and
restrict what you can do in game. It hurts my wrist just playing this game. If you're playing a warrior and you knock someone back and you're holding down attack button because your hand hurt, too bad now they're out of range
and you're waiting out a long period of pointless animations. If you're playing a range class, have fun spamming click button like you're playing minesweeper or something
No longer can you click and move because that doesn't exist on consoles. If you click anywhere your character does their attack animation which is very long so you're sitting there wasting time. No longer can you click on loot
to pick them up because that doesn't exist on consoles so you're forced to run up to them and click open button which is so daft as to why they decided this should be forced on PC players. And if you miss click you're attacking
and waiting out the animation again). Used to holding down mouse button to change your camera angle? Too bad watch this attack animation for couple seconds. Can't see the rift because it's bloody in the sky and you want to change
your camera angle? Watch this cool attack animation.
Oh, the AI is stupid, have fun issuing the same command for your party over and over and over again because they have some kind of short term memory problem and refuse to do what's ordered. Telling your ranged character to get out
of melee range they will run back into melee range because of unknown reasons. Revive teammates? Haha I rather auto attack! Thanks computer.
The menu is unsorted mess, have no clue what is going on there. It's DA:O style with fair amount of items, but unable to sort though as it uses a weird DA:2 menu.
Camera control and FPS issues aside it plays like an MMO theme park with tons and tons of generic fetch x number of y things, or kill z things quests padded into the game as filler content.Heck it makes Skyrim feel like a story-telling masterpiece.
And the ending - lets just say it is only slightly better than the 3 color ME3 ending that Bioware initially dished out.
Bottom line - don't buy this game if you expect to play this game on a pc with keyboard and mouse, don't buy this game if you loved Dragon Age : Origins.

And no, we are not just weird, it is a bad Adaption to PC. The rogue turns the camera randomly on bowshots etc .... I am speaking of RANDOM, so no getting used or something, shots normal and then pouff. Since DAI is te only game hat ever had such Problems ... we don't have to discuss this further, my Computer is fine and reading the critics I see man others have exactly These Problems, so i am not a rare exotic exception. The speechwheel that makes many so happy is inferior to the full phrases in DAO since we often Chose the wrong Options and are shocked that the Phrase is almost the opposite o what we intended to say.

Alo using a cheat for my character really opened the eyes for e, nothing you did in the warroom with the missions mattered for the Story, it just gave items or inquisitionpoints- Disappointing since I always carefully read and choose the politically wisest Option. Many "important" missions like the hissing wastes or empris de Lion are totally irrelevant for the Story. This is a total killer for roleplayers.

The Problem is that EA disappointed hardcore DAO players. We are less after action than after RPG.

However I agree, the graphic and the landscapes are really nice, the Music is great, the voiceactors marvellous, although I was not a fan of the cassandra voice actor. But that is a question of taste.

Nevertheless, I give the game a 1 as a Penalty for cheating customers. EA clearly promised the game to be more like dao than DA2.

What galls me is, this game could be even with a fighting engine I hate a pretty good game, if the quests would matter more and Requisition quests help the Inquisition strategically, if choices like who will govern Orlay would make more difference, if pacify a Region would give you more political weight etc.

boring and repetitive as a mmorpg but single player,
    many quests are bugged,
story is lacking contest and characters have very little development,
hair of the characters shine(graphical issues),
your choices have little impact on the world,
I was not transported to a magical world, while I was playing I was thinking about something else, bad sign

Dragon Age Origins (the first) was a great game, I don't understand why they've changed the gameplay. Even here in Inquisition sequel, the combat system is boooooring and very worse, in tactical view you can see the 5% of battle land, characters jump... why? What's the problem with DAO system? It work, it make the game one of the best, why change it ? Biowere have lost the way with Dragon Age.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Simply not worth the time on the PC. Clearly a poorly ported console game that is virtually impossible to control using a keyboard and mouse. Also, the first half hour is simply underwhelming... "Run here! Fight that! Run there! Who cares! Not me! Ooh, it's dark! So what!" The story, from what I've gathered in game and online is... just, bleurgh. Basically, a wizard did it. Nice one. Thanks.

I'm sure the console fanboys will flame me, but whatever... I'm a PC gamer with over 20 years of games under my belt: I know rushed, dumbed down, poorly thought through junk when I see it.

Never again, Bioware. You almost broke me with ME3 - This utter garbage finished me off. I'll not waste my time and money on you anymore at least - I suppose there is a bright side.

I've been spending the last two hours looking for a solutions all over the net, but there is next to NO official response to this problem. Excellent way to show people you don't care a bit about them. As for customer support... no, I actually don't even want to start ranting about them...

Thoroughly disappointed in you EA and Bioware. Making good games is not enough if you treat the players like that.

I probably played DA: origins a dozen times. Maybe two dozen. Every story, every npc, every option. One of my favorites. I played DA #2 once. This one I found this completely unplayable. The camera didn't make any sense. Why not allow it to pull back so you can see your guys and at least a few of your enemies? Don't the game designers themselves play games? Why would they make it so difficult to see what's going on? To move? To issue commands to your guys? To loot anything?

Really I'm baffled by how bad this is. The combat consists of holding down the R key. Instead of Dragon Age, it's like playing some version of Donkey Kong. Your guys spin a lot, like a young dance troop that has only a handful of moves. I guess enemies are taking some shots (but, as I say, you can't see much).

Can reviewers really be paid off? I can't believe it. PC GAmer magazine has always been reliable in the past. But unless they got some different version, I don't see how they could rate this as anything other than a unplayable bomb.

Obviously some people on here love this game. I honestly don't see how they lasted 5 hours. My advice would be to buy from a store that has a return policy.

This section is for PC reviews.

I wish people would stop coming in here, extolling the game and then give a 8/9/10 after revealing they are playing on one of the consuls.

I think people who are coming here and giving the game a good rating after having played on another platform are younger players who don't really understand about the qualities that a genuine RPG should have.

In my opinion a video game must have a combination of enjoyable gameplay and a good story to keep me interested to play. I won't play a game for just a story, because it's called a video game. If I want a story, I could just read a book or watch a movie..

The gameplay evolved to nearly an action game, and the promised tactical view didn't help at all. Even the 1st game have much better tactical battle than this. And don't get me wrong, I also love action game... But, in DA:I, it feels much 'less' action then other games i played. It's clearly that Bioware want's a broader audience, but it didn't please both audience in my opinion. For action RPG i would play Dark Souls over this..

And since the gameplay is horrible, i could't even play the game for more than 1 hour.. And the first impression of the game's story isn't superb either. DAO's first hour in the game is much better at pulling me into the game's world.

I almost bought this game after reading some reviews at major sites.. But since it's not on steam, I delayed my purchase.. I'm lucky i've tried this game at my friend's place.. So, maybe the best thing EA/Bioware did to me is not distribute this game on steam. Thanks for DAO, and so long Bioware

Lie of the year if I have ever heard of one. When you see 100% positive critic reviews then you know something smells since everyone knows that gaming critics/websites all are in the pocket of gaming companies and they will never give a honest review; thus I have already long disregarded their reviews. Only user reviews are the ones you should trust since they are impartial and have nothing to gain.

So to the game itself, it looks pretty and graphics are decent; but that's where the good parts end. The controls on the PC are terrible - you can't even move the mouse to the edge of the scree to rotate the view, and you have to right click on the ground everytime just to move somewhere. Attacking enemies with the controls is almost comical, no auto attacks, just wildly swinging the weapon and clicking mindlessly. This is not a RPG game; its more like a hack-and-slash action game.

Dragon Age: Origins was one of the best real RPG games in the last decade and DA2 and DA:I are just money making machines for EA. Clearly Bioware has taken a new direction and strategy to focus on console games and dumbed down games to satisfy their bosses. Sad decline of Bioware from a top quality company to one that is now laughed around as an example of how a gaming company should NOT become.

Anyway, in conclusion, don't waste your money on this game if u are playing it on PC. If you really want to try it, wait for prices to fall or try it in gaming cafes. You will save yourself a lot of money. Use it on really good RPG games and not this piece of trash.

    - Dragon Age Inquisition is like MMORPG but where you are the only one person on the whole server. 90% of the game is so unbelievable boring...to continue the main story you need to kill x sheep, find x herbs, letters put flowers on the grave of some peasant, find "special" colorful sheep for another peasant, find gold sheep for elf and run after it as long as needed
    - Side quests are almost never deeper than what you see at the first glance.
    - There are places that I would call "spots to get exp" where enemies are appearing constantly like in mmo. I loved fighting with dragons, especially then when all my team had no idea what to do and was standing like frozen next to legs of the beast and I needed to became each of them one by one and start hitting the enemy.
    - Tactical view is useless, your characters very quickly forget about orders. Blink of an eye and Varic is inside group of enemies, why? Maybe he was lonely in the safe place with his crossbow.
    - Bugs, bugs bugs. Third day my top 3-4 saves became corrupted and I wasn't able to open them, 6 hours of play lost. Thanks Bioware! Game crashes were common, sometimes everything was fine for three hours and another time game could turn off three times in 10 minutes.
    - Even on the nightmare game becomes easy after hitting 12-14 level. I ended up having almost 70k of gold because no matter what eq I had I was able to kill everything.
    - Your decisions means nothing. Whatever you pick result will be the same. Your teammates dislikes them? So what? Nothing will happen because of that.
    - Cooperation is just a big joke. My character was jumping on left and right during run and after couple of matches I realised that more interesting is looking on the growing grass. I loved what they did with Mass Effect 3 coop. I have spent hundreds of hours running over the same areas and killing the same monsters but it was super fun. DA coop almost made me cry.

From the intro of origins I was captivated by the story and was left wanting more which continued as I learned more about the world during time spent playing. Playing DA:I leaves me uninterested, I could care less about anything said or written in notes or books. Origins pre expansion had nearly perfected the game mechanics for the style of game that it was. The executions were a point of thorough satisfaction. Origins had tactical and intelligent game play that created challenge for the player. Upon playing DA 2 I was terribly disappointed by the changes but it still managed to be good enough to play. I forced myself through six cumulative hours of DA:I after having repeatedly exited the game because I couldn't take playing it any longer. During this play I found myself desperately desiring to go back to the disappointing game that was DA 2 and had constant nostalgic memories of Origins and what it was. Upon reaching a town of rich noble characters that were all dressed up in Assassins Creed style masks and checkered outfits, I'll never play this again. The first boss fight consisted of right clicking a green rift in the sky to remove his invulnerability then hold auto attack until he died. There is no strategy, you are not needed to participate, your party can kill everything. Any given battle takes no thought and is over within seconds. Melee combat is awful even by action mmo standards, Neverwinter Online would have it beat hands down. DA: I is a single player mmo, with large areas for you to run around and collect evenly spaced iron deposits. Apparently they beleived people did such things because they thought it was fun. Filled with errands to kill ten rams and bring back meat for the refugees. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game became the biggest disappointment of the year for me. And the problem not only in the game-play itself - tactic camera, no auto-attack (which, by the way, was very unnerving) all of mmo-like quests and so on. What pissed me off is absence of role-play itself in the RPG. It sound odd, but it's true. I got the feeling that I'm playing the game made up by some fun-fiction writer with no talent or so ever. The Inquisitor is a Mary Sue character that has a god-like powers, everyone worship him(her), he(she) can do anything and everything he(she) touches is turning to gold. There is no personal motivation to the main character - why would he (she) want to join the Inquisition? To save his(her) own skin? But the threat is very vague. The only option at the end is to save the world. The easiness with which he(she) becomes the leader of the Inquisition was very surprising for me. Just because of a green thing in the hand. And that is the only reason I could see. He(she) did nothing to get this position - absolutely. All that he(she) do most of the time - is collect herbs, kill animals and make stupid side-quests to find someones goat. And that thing with the Wardens - is Inquisitor became a ruler of Orlais that he (she) can just banish them from this Empire? WTF? Maybe we should name the main character not Inquisitor but The-All-Mighty-The-Ruler-Of-World?
There is no feeling of coming disaster, no atmosphere of coming evil. Why would we need to close those rifts if almost all of them are situated where is no people who would suffer from them? And the funniest moment is that there is no reaction of NPC that are near by when you fight someone. Most of the NPCs are not moving at all, even if you try to pass them by - you just stuck if you try to go through several NPC chatting. And the chatting, ohh... when I tried to listen what they say... well, let's say they talking like crazies.
Now let's see what Inquisitor we can play. We don't have an option to play any character but good. For example, when we make Cole's quest, we don't have an option to kill a Templar - because we are good, we can't be evil. No-no, we can sentence to death someone, while sitting on the THRONE, bot not when Cole wants to kill someone: "It's unthinkable!" - says Inquisitor. Where is the CHOICE I'm asking you, bioware? Where is the real choices? The only one I could remember - is at the ball, but I didn't even care who to chose.
The dialog wheel - is just one big fail. Want to romance character - why think? - jut push the answer with the heart - no problem. There is no wrong answer - everyone loooves you - Mary Sue it is. And sometimes I pushed the answer and my Inquisitor yelled like hysteric, which I couldn't expect from the answer I chose.
It seems that Bioware just want to show you picture. It's like Michael's Bay popcorn movie. You CAN watch it, but there is no soul in it.
