It's a fun hacking/that gets back to the gritty aesthetic that Diablo was originally known for. There's also evolved in some fun and interesting ways from Diablo 2 and 3 and I look forward to seeing where it goes over the next couple years as it goes through its seasons

I love Diablo IV because it has fixed all the issues that were wrong with Diablo III, while also managing to incorporate many of the great qualities of Diablo II. I don't have much time to play the game with my job and extracurricular activities, but when I do I enjoy it immensely. I'm giving it a 9 because although it's great, there is still room to improve. It's not too complicated, while at the same time being challenging when needed. Also, the couch co-op is what sets this game above the rest. Maybe people would be giving it better reviews if they had friends to play with. Doing anything alone for long periods of time is enough to make someone hate something such as a video game. When I'm able to play, I enjoy playing for long periods of time, then when I'm getting irritated or burned out I go outside, work out, and maybe even touch grass. This hard reset really helps to keep me grounded and reminds me that it's just for fun. There's more to life than this game, or any video game for that matter, so I'll enjoy it when I can with the friends and family that will enjoy it with me. Expand

Как итог, для чисто сюжетного прохождения игра более чем норм, дальше уже нужно смотреть че близы придумают.

The bandits dragging an anxious monk through dark vaults seemed to just be a generic tease for the typical moment to moment gameplay. It all changes when Elias reveals himself and begins the ritual to summon Lilith and kicks off the next chapter of a story that I wouldn’t have expected to be this good. In a great move to get back in touch with the franchise’s roots, the story plays out as the wanderer is following their trail close behind dealing with the depravity left in their wake. It was the darkness of Diablo 2 but upgraded with modern storytelling tools that made you feel the sense of urgency missing in that game. Through gorgeous cinematics, gruff penetrating dialogue from Lorath, and a large handful of perfectly placed lore texts on relics and objects D4 gives you a near perfect story delivery and pays off with the journey and destination colliding in the end. I was wrong to doubt you, Blizzard.
Diablo 4, like its predecessors, is two different games. The brilliance of that opening trailer was I think it appealed and excited fans of both. The first game is navigating your character through this brutal story which brought back some much-needed hell back to the franchise. At multiple points I physically tensed up at the horrific displays of torture, gore, and body mutilation you would expect from a game all about demons. The game hits hard with action from the jump, and only has a couple long breaks to fill in story pieces that I wish had been a tad shorter. Outside these moments the story is a 9.5/10, and for me makes a run at top 10 stories ever told in video games. It’s wonderful to see a game use all the modern tools of cinematics, next generation graphics, phenomenal voice acting, and player character rendering to suck you in and make you feel every part of the journey. I have always liked both games nested within Diablo but thought game 1 was subpar compared to other triple A titles. My low expectations we’re sent straight to hell in this installment however, and once again Blizzard, my bad for doubting.
When you finish Act VI which I recommend making that your first and only goal, game 2 truly immediately opens. You are introduced to the Tree of Whispers and told how to collect Grim Favors from around Sanctuary, and this is a great jumping off point to start interfacing with the renown tracks of each region. It gives you a nice extra reward for completing tasks around the map that you are already rewarded for doing. I’ve played to level 80, and occasionally I still enjoy completing these for a nice minor cache of loot. The renown is a great way to get you to fully explore everything that sanctuary has to offer. The one gripe I had was the Altars of Lilith we’re cool for about 5 minutes, and then just became a boring task to just complete. Every other piece of the renown track was an enjoyable grind and got a good foothold into the game. Once this is complete you have your full 58 skill points, are probably somewhere in the mid 60s for your character level and have gotten a nice intro into the paragon board endgame systems. For the casual gamer who wants to continue playing other games and enjoying life outside, please consider that this is you beating the game. Like, seriously, please believe me, YOU DID IT. You beat the game. You accomplished everything that matters. Let me explain.
You beat game one after watching the epilogue cutscene at the end of ACT VI. This is a given. Game 2’s endpoint will be different for everyone, and I think that’s a great thing. For me in a non-seasonal environment, I’m about to reach the end of my progression dreams. From about 65 on with maximum renown, you are basically full build in terms of Legendary Aspects, the power of your gear is maxed, and you have started picking up powerful Paragon bonuses. By this point you have probably done a handful of nightmare sigils and leveled your glyphs which add substantial power. After that, it’s just numbers going up in a game play loop of Dungeons, Helltides, and Whispers. The amount of numbers that go up compared with the amount of these you have to do gets further and further apart. That’s it. If you enjoy that, head for 100 with glee. If not, wait till next season. You’ve beaten a game that is a bonified 9.5/10 to that point with very minor problems. You’ve enjoyed yourself much. Play something else and we’ll see you in July!

This game is amazing, took the best of the previous games and made a better product. The people writing negative reviews have clearly never played a Diablo game before, complaining that once you beat the story it's just more of the same, grinding for better gear. Yeah, no **** it's a Diablo game.

Diablo 4 is the latest installment from Blizzard in its long-running action looter RPG. Through all of Blizzard's issues Diablo still proves to be a best in genre showcase that's full of endless monsters, dungeons, and playstyles to enjoy.

Life in Sanctuary is tough, no characters, families, farms, or towns are safe from the endless doom and gloom that is pervasive in this universe, there are no happy endings here. In typical Diablo fashion you play as a nameless "champion" of sorts who is on a journey to stop the impeding demon threat/apocalypse, this time in the form of Lilith, daughter of Mephisto. The story is typical genre fare, though delivered in some really inspired and beautifully rendered cutscenes. In particular, the final full CGI scene is breathtaking, and features a cool and satisfying conclusion to this portion of the story.

Gameplay is fun and challenging, with many different options for encounters and playstyles. I played through the whole story as an arc/electric sorcerer, only switching towards the end to a firewall build that was much better. The action is quick and deadly, particle effects and gorgeous animations flash on the screen at a near constant rate during encounters. The game does feature some sharp difficulty spikes for sure, the main story is on average easier than the optional dungeons that are scattered throughout the world.

Post main story the game does get pretty grindy. After reaching level 50 you stop receiving skill points and instead earn Paragon Points which incrementally boost your character and provide mostly passive benefits. For non hardcore fans of the game/genre most of the interest will wane after the main story is completed.

All in all I never encountered a dull moment in my time rolling through the main story. The action and enemies are ever evolving and the loot and build structure of the lategame leads to endless opportunities for fun.

Beat on world level 2 with a sorcerer, roughly 25 hours to finish the main story.

I don't understand the global hatred here. what were players expecting ? To solve all their life frustration, personal problems, to offer a sense of their empty life ? To satisfy the impossible task to please the casual and hardcore player in the same time ? They have targetted the casual KFS dad player who is likely to buy skin, and play some hours each week...

    To put a 6 or a 5, but a 0 ? It's just review bombing....

If you want to play peacefully on the ROG Ally or PS5, it's a good game, the end game is too young to be judged, let Blizzard time to improve that, this game has been released just 1 month ago !

This 1.1 patch overall was a good change and the individuals who are mad about it are individuals who were abusing builds that were obviously going to get nerfed, because why “WOULDN’T” they nerf something that does more than TRILLIONS of damage in a hit.

If you’re playing the game and not relying on builds that were clearly a problem you actually have more of a fighting chance now for just playing the game like a game.

    5,5/10 for game enjoyers "degenerates".

    * End game is lack luster to say the least, we have some positive news in this regard making nightmare dungeons reward more experience and direct teleport's to nightmares.

    * A lot of Quality of Life is missing once you hunker down and want to farm, and comments made lately we will have to wait at least till season 2 before we can expect any changes in this regard since season one is already in quality assurance stage, and will not receive additional features added to it.

    * Itemization is weird, clunky and uninspiring once you understand the sheer magnitude of combinations each item can have with no actual way to tip the scale in any way (we can reroll a single stat but this is also as much luck as getting a good item to begin with). I sincerely hope this is something Blizzard is working on because right now its all just 100% random whom drops what, trash mobs drop exact same items as elite monsters and bosses, at lower rate but you kill an overwhelming amount of trash so pretty much ratio in a dungeon might be tipped more in trash monsters favor.

The point here is that the ui is more adjusted for consoles. It lacks the possibilities like scaling and the display of specific data like character statistics is terrible (even on an 42 inch Monitor you have to use the scrollbar to get parts of the stats. So even you have enough place on screen you still do not see much)

Some other obvious problems like to have to click for amounts or have to execute additional clickin even the needed tabs are obvios (like with the sigils where you select to destory them and have to open the sigil overview) do no make it comfortable. Why we need to have that many tabs? No one knows but probably Blizzard want a statistik how many times you klicked a tab...

This is also on many other levels the case, why do you don't see when the world boss spawns? No one knows you have to track it else no world boss event, although spawn timers ingame are everywhere.

The graphics and sound are fine, no need to worry about that and the story is not game braking but still ok and within an arpg not a real issue if you do not expect something new.

What is of an issue is the current state of the classes. They are not bad, the skill tree offer a lot of possibilities with the big remark, that not everything you can choose, will lead you to be able to handle the end game content. In the end there are only a few builds per class that stands out at the end, because the rest can't hold up.

And here is the question why we get a lot of skills which simply do not work as they lack the necessary aspects or uniques to remain valid for the endgame. Most probably because the game was rushed.

Aside of that there is also the problem with the balance of the classes. It seems that to be honest there is no balance and some builds are overpowered where others simply too weak. Blizzard started to fix this but publihing a game with open world, pvp and ladders is... There is simply the question if this was really a good move and now the qustion is more how fast can they fix it. Not really a good feeling for the seasons as this will most probably be not ready until then

Addtionally to the above some of the functions like mounts are really bad in design, you ride like a cartdriver where you bump all the time on tires or at worst can't move at all. Only an example there are some others like to have run all the time through the town because all the needed characters are on all directions. Why? no one knows, the towns are not huge so the way is not huge but still you are running from left to the right and you get the feeling someone wanted you to do so because it would looks like the town is more alive when some people doing all the run again and again.

All of this is not that of an issue but is something that upset players. Looking at the World itself it is fine and the overall presentation is also ok. The part which has a lot of questions why it is feeling so useless at the endgame. World bosses are fine and they make it an alternation but they are only a gear supplier, the same like helltides or the wonderous tree. Where it gives the player alternatives to farm because one of the parts in endgame is max stats gear and the other the glyph leveling system, it feels like the more useless part as the dungeons also provide the same loot and then they provide simply additionally the other part.

Now the glyphs can be leveled only in dungeons and looking at this there is the question why only there and not also in the open world. By all means this limitation seems to be simply a forcing decision to do this content as mandatory. Although it should be mentioned that it is a lot of grind and everyting from level 60+ on seem to be pointing in this direction it looks as it should be somthing more to do than this for 40 levels.

This leads to the next point where all this maxing process is a huge grind, you won't see something new at this point as you are leveling the glyphs. This is fine for those who want to test their builds on the maximum content for dungeons but it is a repetitive loop with no real change. All your skills and setup is done, no other then to run the dungeons up to level 100.

So will the seasons have enough content to keep the players interested to make this grind again and again. A big question mark on this. Overall it is a solid game but it still lacks a lot of improvement and quality of live. The overhyped press results are not really helpfull in my opinion as they state mostly what shines but a review should be more then looking what is fine.

    The rating was adjusted by

-1 for the ui not really PC valid
-1 for the build limitations on classes because of missing gear choice
-1 the imbalance on classes and group play
-0,5 grind factor at higher tiers but no further evolution of gameplay
-0,5 content seems rushed and unfinished

I finished the game with the Druid the first time. That being said the classes are very unbalanced, but you can figure out what works. In the time it took me to finish the first act as the druid it only took me half the time to complete Act 1 as the rogue. Still I went back to my druid and powered through it and now after trying all the classes I think I would say that the druid has a special place in my heart. Micro-transactions are in the game but the game doesn’t push it on the player. Graphically the game is beautiful. I’m so glad Blizzard went back to the Diablo 2 style atmosphere rather than sticking with Diablo 3 with WoW style graphics. Storyline is okay and has some really cool moments. Im glad that the word “nephilim” wasn’t repeated every 5 minutes as it was in Diablo 3. The musical score is great. Not amazing but it’s great. It has some epic moments at certain points in the cutscenes but it can get annoying in some parts of gameplay.

Now the price tag is a whopping $70 so if you’re playing for the story, it’s not for you. Look up a YouTube video for that. 8/10 because I actually had fun and I still plan on playing it

Generally a pretty good game. Users pointing out a lack of innovation I would generally agree are correct. It's tough to say this game is a 10 when nothing really feels very new from a gameplay stance. Honestly, one could say we actually lost a lot of skill variety for most classes. The gameplay is still very solid, however.

However, there are several grave issues with Diablo 4 that can't be ignored. Much like the grinding of nails on chalkboard, the longer one tries to ignore it, the worse it gets.
Make no mistake--there is a decent game here, but it is marred by issues, some of which have already been touched upon, that really make this start to become a chore.

Balance, oh my god the balance in this game is so all over the place. The main culprit, naturally is level scaling, which seems to arbitrarily make the game more difficult than it really needs to be. No matter how much you level, no matter how well you build your character or what sweet gear you get, it will in the end be completely arbitrary because of the complete lack of any balance. Playing on world tier 1, the 'easiest' mode, you will get one-shotted by normal mobs for apparently no reason, you will level up your character and get stronger only for the mobs to not only level up with you--but to exceed your level.
Now you may ask, what implications does this have? It means that no matter how hard you work, you can't out level mobs, areas or bosses, which means that you are not rewarded for going in prepared for say, a boss fight. In any other game, being patient in grinding and getting good gear for your character, as well as setting them up correctly will bestow you an advantage. You will be a high enough level--or greater than the boss you seek to defeat. The way you build your character can turn a very difficult fight into a moderately difficult one, but in this game for some reason, the bosses ALWAYS out level you. This leads to the frustrating experience of feeling underpowered and extraordinarily weak at every turn, despite your best efforts to the contrary. Well, at least gear can help you out? Well...

The funny thing I noticed about gear is that stats barely matter at all, even though they should. What use are attributes like Dexterity, Strength et all if they barely confer anything at all? I checked my stat sheet--playing a melee rogue. I intentionally build her for maximum dexterity with some intelligence, as dex is the main stat and intelligence grants crit. Now what do I get for stacking dexterity as much as humanly possible? A measly 2.1 percent dodge chance. What the F%$% is this? For a total of a 3 percent dodge chance, the class fantasy of the 'daring, agile rogue' is hardly sold at all. This means that during a fight, getting hit with a melee attack lands 97 PERCENT OF THE TIME. The bosses in this game are cancer for melee characters as you may figure from this, in addition to the arbitrary difficulty imposed by things like level scaling. You will pull your hair out trying to get past a roadblock in the story like with Brol, the Tyrant king and others.

My last complaint is the underwhelming skill tree and pool of abilities. You'd think that with 8~ years of development they'd come up with something better than this, even WoW has better skill trees, because D4 has the kind of anemic skill trees that would make an anorexic patient at death's door blush with sympathetic embarrassment. There are hardly any ways to build your character in any unique manner, ant the "specializations" are downright atrocious. It is baffling that D4 can't strike a middle ground between the lunatic madness of Path of Exiles 200 IQ 8D Multi layered skill trees and literal mobile game tier skill trees, but hey, it's only a multi dollar company.

While all that has been said, there are good things about the game. The visual design is simply amazing, the kind of stuff that screams grimdark in the best way possible. You will be met with haunting vistas, the desolated remains of civilization, the horrors of hell and everything in between, rendered in painful detail. The character creator, while not good, can still be used to create 'some' attractive characters. The feel and look of combat is excellent, nice, gritty and brutal, with every crunch of bone and slash tuned perfectly. The soundtrack is haunting, and pretty damn good, while the story does have its moments, thanks mostly to the visual design and the excellent voice acting. (excluding your main characters voice, lmao) The voice acting makes the people of D4 feel alive and very much believable.

All in all, there is a decent game underneath here, but some of the design directions taken leave MUCH to be desired. It'd be a good game to buy on sale for about ~30 dollars.
    Good:
    Amazing visual design
    Good Sound design
    Good soundtrack and voice acting
    Good Story
    Good 'core' combat
    Bad:
    Balance is cancer
    Stats mean nothing
    Terrible Skill tree

I think that if in the few next seasons we will see contents like: infinite dungeons depth, pve/pvp leaderboards with prizes at the end of the season and some more choices in the skill tree to personalize the build, this game could be at the top for a very long time. If Blizzard treats this game with respect in a year or less it will be amazing. Remember every product in this age comes out with flaws, look at Cyberpunk how bad it was received at the start and how perfect it is today. This is the next gen of arpg, there is some work to do but the basis on which the game will be built are solid and interesting. And I think and hope that the competition that will come from this game alone will be very beneficial to the genre which has stalled for quite some time at this point.

The title is well-made and the Italian translation is excellent. I really enjoyed the story, and it brought me back to the involvement I had with Diablo II. The endgame is definitely less interesting, but I believe that some repetitiveness is intentional so that content can be added in the future. Diablo's mechanics are simply that, and they may not be to everyone's taste, but you cannot expect the game to stray too far from its identity.

What I've personally gotten out of this was that the game was too easy before and for something that many of you will play for years it made no sense that progress could be made so quickly. This is the crux of the reason why they want us to make seasonal characters. I put it down once I finished the story and I'll come back when an actual expansion arrives. There's little reason to keep replaying the same content, seasonal or otherwise, over and over and over, Blizzard has recommended players take a break, and they've given you another reason to do so. First of all, I'm sure there are plenty of actual PC gamer reviews in here, but most of you whiny brats didn't look far enough to know what platform you were reviewing on. You think the game is tedious to grind out higher levels and you're bored because the game was so EASY to rush through and level up the first 50. There was no real EFFORT. And having no end-game when they just rolled out the first (ie not last) season of new/unique post/extra campaign content...?? You children are so conditioned for instant gratification that you have no idea why YOU are everything wrong you see with the game. You want to fly through a game and get all the good stuff at the end as quickly as possible, and then you say, "What, that's it?". Ffs. You shouldn't even be allowed to comment. Just go buy your next waste of time. And do the world a favor and stop voting for anything that affects the lives of other human beings.

The game is beautiful, and there are a ridiculous number of ways you can build and play all of the characters, and the story was actually good, and it felt like Diablo, and it setup the next **** Diablo, and they're not currently planning on patching and moving on, but rather continuing to develop content and more end/post game activity.... Yes, you could plow through the main campaign too quickly and too easily. You didn't need community and teamwork for most if not all of it. You didn't really need to explore. If you wanted to go over there, you could just blast and sprint your way through without worry or repercussion. That's where they messed up. They gave you what you wanted... Because if you actually had to play the game over a period of time and band together to finish open world events before moving on, you wouldn't have actually played the game because it would have been too demanding and too tedious for you.

I had waiting so long for this release !!! And for me it's an amazing and great DIABLO game and I enjoy it. I can't wait to see all the inc change during the year. I don't understand all this rage and all those 0 rating. Absurd behavior from those toxic people.

I believe Diablo IV has to potential to become a masterpiece. The classes and their abilities truely feel amazing and RP. The campaign is by far the best across all games of this genre. It actually makes me want to sit, relax and enjoy it instead of skipping like every other ones. The leveling experience could be improved on some classes but overall feels great and rewarding. It actually makes me want to sit, relax and enjoy it instead of skipping like every other ones. The leveling experience could be improved on some classes but overall feels great and rewarding. On top of all of that, the cross-play and cross-save capabilities of the game bundled with the absolute best controller experience for an ARPG I've ever felt makes me want to switch away from mouse and keyboard on my PC on a lot of occasions.

The game had an absolute amazing launch. Unfortunatly, it still has some issues and the most recent patch made a lot of the community feel like the devs were out of touch. I partly felt this way too but after seeing how fast they are pushing out content and how well feedback is listened to and influcences their design decisions is giving me more than hope.

I really dislike the review bombing that some people are doing. Giving a game a 0/10 is just plain unfair.
I would give this game 9/10 but since people are being unfair I thought I'd chip in to counterbalance.

Although I am not experienced in Diablo and ARPG, the game satisfied me in a short time. It revealed my curiosity, interest and love for this genre. The dev team made a lot of wrong decisions with Season 1, but they started to fix them based on community feedback. Highly recommended.

For me the game is epic, and it has the best cinematics and story in the whole series.

This patch is actually healthy for the long run, because everyone were too damn powerful already, way too early.

The base game is worth 70€, I loved the story and gameplay. I got more than enough hours of fun gameplay not to regret spending so mutch for it.

Season one is absolutely not worth 10€ for the pass, not enough innovation or fun content to come back to.

Not saying there are not some issues, but nothing that is preventing me from enjoying myself in game.

    Gameplay: 7/10

Playing and enjoying the game. 9 out of 10 so far. (bought it after 1.10 was released).

Some fail and bugs at the launch of season 1 but the game is really good.
Nearly no problem of server since beggining compare to the three first years of D3 but most of haters are too young for know...
I really enjoy this game and i m sure, i will play on for 10 years as D3 (played near all seasons since dlc)

While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
