    After giving Blizzard the benefit of doubt, they continue with horrendous game destroying patches and seem to have nothing but contempt for the playerbase.

    As a veteran of the entire series, I hate to say it but Diablo IV is a step backwards and not forwards and is entirely due to the live service model, this is more akin to a psudeo MMO than the single player/solo experience of the previous iterations and I don't know how to feel about that especially as future content unlocks that could require a full group, so the game moves more in a direction of a true MMo rather than the classic experience.

    Graphics are a step up from Diablo 3, but after 10+ years you would expect so. I have no complaints here, everything looks more dark gothic in nature with dreary backgrounds and destroyed ruins to explore that adds to the atmosphere, whilst the sound and music is passable it isn't nearly on par with Diablo 2.

    Gameplay is a mixed bag, its highly repetitive and honestly? Its Diablo! That part was to be expected, but this time the repetitiveness comes in forms of repeating the same dungeons, the same events and fighting the same monsters over and over, it definitely feels like less monster variations than previous games.

    Itemization is terrible, far worse than any other previous diablo game. Its basically like the borderlands series with 3+ million items and only a bunch of them are any good, 9 out of 10 times you'll be scrapping/selling items over and over again, very rarely will you find anything useful which creates tedium, coupled with poor skill sets and heavily nerfed builds so that players are mostly forced into meta builds right from the start and never deviate from those paths.

    Gems are a wasted opportunity as well serving barely any point outside of Topaz for a base attack buff, everything else is lacking significantly. Another issue is levelling exploits that are not being patched and being actively abused by many people to hit the level cap in hours, because blizzard would rather not ban any youtube influencers or streamers who are the main abusers.

    Server stability is terrible, on a good day you'll face a lot of rubberbanding or severe frame rate drops for no real reason, login servers are constantly overloaded and/or crash often for hours at a time aka something that has always happened.

    Class balance is an absolute joke, it always has been in the series but Diablo 4 takes that imbalance and goes way beyond anything that should be acceptable, the main culprit here is the excessive nerfs that happened after beta because a few people found builds and in the early game they were powerful, repeat here "early game" because the beta only had access to the first act and up to level 25, because of this several classes especially the sorcerer are nearly unviable in endgame dungeons not to mention absolutely require BIS gear to be even functional especially after T30+ nightmare dungeons, whilst other classes can just breeze through, this issue has been made worse by all the exploiters complaining about content because they abused their way to level 100 in 1/10th of the time.

    PvP is similar to the division style of risk vs reward, and we all know how that turned out right? The PvP in D4 is worse, mostly griefers camping the PvE parts of the fields of hatred or the statues of Lilith knowing that people will try to unlock the full zone completion, and did I mention that PvP right now is also once again, entirely unbalanced with rogues entirely having the ability to perm stunlock players?

    To summarize, Diablo 4 is a big disappointment for the franchise. Has far too many issues to overcome and we all know, the fixes will be excuses for new 'seasons' forcing players who have spent hundreds of hours on their characters to basically start over. The game is entirely tedious once you have finished the main story since you can basically go straight to WT3 and get a carry to WT4 and then its just mindless grind, find a few item upgrades and rinse and repeat and if you didn't take advantage of any of the levelling exploits, then reaching 100 will take you a long time but in the long run, it'll be a meaningless achievement.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Diablo 4 started well in the beta, but the Vanilla Diablo 4 game came out and quickly the nerfs began... Fast forward, just before the release of season 1: Everything got nerfed so hard people cannot be asked to even play anymore, that is insane. Everyone was hyped for season 1, now everyone hates the game... GG, at least it took the (new/current) Bungie years to destroy and downgrade the Destiny franchise to a hamster wheel slot machine, Blizzard destroyed Diablo 4 in less than 2 months...     At launch this game was more boring than previous Diablo titles but the foundation for greatness was there. Unfortunately, it has only gone downhill since. Nerf after nerf, every single patch has been tailored to slow down an already arduous grind. It's obvious that they have their launch money and don't care about the future of the game.

    The ones voting a 10 saying its the best Diablo are also right.

    It all has to do with monatization, price and expectation.

    Im downvoting bigtime. I mean, Its ok to make a mediocre game which makes a few ppl happy.
    Its very bad to over- over- overprice and underdeliver just because of your name.

    Do not buy this !

    This game is designed to sell you skins for mounts.
    The world is empty and there is nothing to do besides
    Boring fetch quests.

    Mobs scale to your level so you are feel like a potato all
    The time.

    Good drops only good for a couple levels and get useless.

    The only good thing is the artstyle and thats it.

    Awful game, way worse than diablo 3. Campaign takes forever. Have to sit there listening to characters talk for hours and hours. I play diablo to kill **** and get loot. Not to listen to dialog.

    Sad about the state of Blizzard.

    Diablo was my chilhood and best gaming memories since the original game and then to the masterpiece of D2 and LoD.

    Until level 50 you can get value with awesome graphs and great atmosphere.

    Soon the game gets boring, scaling is unacceptable and myriads of problems.

    This game is an abomination to the franchise, stay away from it.

Everyone is using yellow items upgraded to legandarys, almost every unique ist absolut crap and are not usefull for endgame Builds except 2-3 items like the tempest roar for druids. For example every Barbar unique is absolut trash and can not be used in the endgame. New Update is a mess. They nerfed critNightmare Dungeons are boring and not giving better loot, Diablo 3 rifts were better.     I enjoyed most of the story, cinematics were gorgeous, everything else bare bones. Once i got to level 70 i got so bored. Season 1 came out and it looked so terribly mid i didnt even bother, season 2 trailer did not inspire me to reinstall the game at all. The season 1 patches were from developers so deaf and blind to the community and playerbase of the game you couldve told me theyI enjoyed most of the story, cinematics were gorgeous, everything else bare bones.     If and after you do spend all this time grinding - far more than what's reasonable, especially if you want to try other classes...you're rewarded with a fun end game loop? Nope. More grinding for gear that has perfect rolls and the right combo of affixes. This isn't unlike any other game like this, but it's much slower.

    Unique items in the game? Nope. They're pointless and don't drop often or you get the really useless ones a bunch of times.

    Re-rolling gear affixes? You may find out you get offered the same one but with a lower roll. Or you may get to choose from the same affix twice (wasted enchant).

    It's just an epic waste of time really. For no reward. You get nothing for all the time invested. They didn't finish their end game content. You can stop playing after level 80 or so.

    Such a wasted opportunity. They had momentum too. They threw it all away. Well, maybe they can fix it. Check back in a few months or a year.    … Expand

May Blizzard go out of business and their poor business practices die with the brand. Thanks to Larian and Baldur's Gate 3 for restoring my faith in modern gaming following the massive rip off and disappointment that is Diablo 4.     ActivisionBlizzard just made everything harder and worse with their pre-season 1 patch. This has been one of the best Diablo’s I had ever played, and then they did this.

    I’m now telling my friends who have not yet bought the game, who I had been telling to buy it, to not bother. Better games on the horizon. Actiblizz are the worst gaming company ever.

    The most un-fun ARPG in existance.Low mob density because their awful servers can handle more, and even then continue to lag out constantly. Some classes speed clearing endgame while others can barely handle enemies of the same level. Awful and restricitive class balance and design. Everyone should had known better after they canceled OW2. Blizzard is long gone.

    Zero game economy. Itemization is too mushy and drops don't feel significant. Might as well be a tooltip reading simulator with how many yellows you have to sift though.

    Game needs some kind of economy and tradable items to make drops feel significant. It needs a loot filter. Items need to be less class dependent to make gearing multiple characters less awful.

Act 2-4 is boring as hell. build variety is non-existent, endgame is bland and boring. hit a wall on lvl 50 with a upheaval barb on my first hour on nightmare. not gonna waste more time on this shore. My Review: At least it's not Wolcen, still worth refund...

The "best" way to level in the end-game is to run nightmare dungeons over and over and over, which quickly gets repetitive. Crafting materials are rare, and Blizzard keeps making them more and more difficult to obtain. Class power is extremely imbalanced, and instead of buffing the classes that need it, Blizzard nerfs everyone across the board.

    If this is the direction Diablo 4 is headed, count me out. Maybe the game will be worth playing in a year or two but for now, unless you only care about the first half of the game, I'd recommend to avoid it.    … Expand

    Always online SINGLEPLAYER??? I've never felt more scammed after buying a game in my entire life. Thank god that i had the option to refund the game. Also why is there no music in the game? Did Blizzard go cheap on the music too?

Devs are out of touch with players, they only want to try to slow players down so we stuck to this contents longer which they don't have any good end game contents and main problem is the LOOTS, most unique gears are useless and uber uniques are like 1 out of million players to get one which no point to farm them at end game.

    While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.
