The game is lacking endgame content. For the 1st season of the game, Blizzard tries to extend the lifespan of the current content by slowing down the progress for the player. This is just dumb and lazy attempt at a solution. The correct solution would be to add more content but I guess that´s a far too difficult task for a badly managed game studio.

Gutted for the season 1. Really rough, seriously ignoring user base input and making a hard stance. Thanks daddy blizzard for grounding the entire community.

The game is pretty good. Well, was pretty good. Not anymore. Patch 1.1 gutted every build and slowed the game down to a grinding halt. Less damage, reduced stat numbers on items, more garbage stats, less exp for monster kills, less cooldown reduction so combat encounters last longer, less rewards from helltides, less item drops from elite kills, less survivability, just to name a few of the changes. And of course, no QoL improvements and nothing that the game was sorely lacking besides a few bug fixes.

Blizzard see what the community asks for, do the exact opposite, and then do a fireside chat to justify it with "our developers have a vision". F*** off. Uninstalled. I might come back when you patch the fun back into your game.

No endgame content ? Well let's nerf everything with this crappy 1.1 update so it takes a long time for everyone to do the same things again and again.
Dev need to play their own game.

I really tried to like this game.
Ive been watching pre- and reviews in which they said "It's like diablo 3 just better" so I didn't wait, like planned, till the season starts. I bought it to launch.
Oh boy, were the outlets wrong and oh boy have I been stupid. Yes the game is just like Diablo 3 but better… Like a slightly better launchversion of Diablo 3. Diablo 4 is a tedious slog.

Diablo 4 is a tedious slog. The story is quiet nice, if you like it.
But besights of that it is nothing else than a collection of boring chores.
I am especially annoyed by Activision Blizzards behavior.
They nerfed everything for the first week.
All the dungeons which you could use to level up were literally obliterated.
Sorry for heaving fun in dungeons with high mop density.
Then finally they said it's now time for buffs.
And they came and were actually good…. Until they took everything away from us, just to stretch game time.
I don't even talk about the class nerfs.
It's about the stats and the experience…
The worst it that they did not even publish every change.
They kept so many changes in secret, it is just embarrassing
Would love to get a refund for this game but sadly this is not possible..

That loyalty has since been plagued by incredible ignorance and ineptitude by the developers leaving the game feeling like an over-whittled plank of driftwood, with none of it's luster or sheen left over from the fine mahogany log it took years to cultivate.

There is a framework here that could have allowed stats and aspects to prop up nearly any build a player wished to build, but instead created the same niche-only game design we've seen from so many ARPGs in the last decade. With constant dilution hitting the games mechanics, the resulting gunk has little substance, and causes an already unpleasant grind to feel akin to quicksand.

On the cusp of their first season, the final legs of this framework are being shattered, and splintered, leaving little reason to attend.

Played 3 class in the pre-season. A bit repetitive at first but it was fun, doing dungeons with clan members, perfecting your build on the go.
Then the season 1 patch notes came and make leveling take freaking more time and tedious.
More play time does not mean more fun. Game is not respecting player's time.

A world of versatility and power was suddenly replaced with stifling constraints. The once robust Necromancers, Barbarians, Rogues, Sorceresses, and Druids faced crippling nerfs that stripped them of their former glory.

No relief came from the enchantment front either. The mysterious and potent art stayed as costly as ever, draining resources without a hint of mercy. The fiery Helltides, once swift as the wind, now languished at a snail's pace, mocking the determined players with their sluggish currents.

The art of Boosting, once a glorious race to the top, was crushed under the weight of patch 1.1, now resembling an uphill battle in waist-deep snow. The once diverse gameplay was corralled into Nightmare dungeons, where other challenges were reduced to mere whispers in the wind.

Experience bonuses that were once the spoils of defeating mighty adversaries became mere crumbs, a meager 10% of their former glory. The sensation of triumphant victory against higher-level beasts was replaced with a hollow echo of what once was.

The essence of combat, the critical strikes and vulnerability damage, faced the wrath of the patch as well. Slashed by 17% and 40% respectively, they further dimmed the once blinding brilliance of the game's weapons.

Diablo 4 was not a sprint; it was a marathon. But with the arrival of Patch 1.1, the marathon had turned into an endless crawl through a desert of nerfs, each oasis of fun seemingly further away than the last.

But there was no all-powerful Avatar, no master of all classes to rise and restore balance. Instead, a call to arms echoed amongst the players: It's time to speak up, to say 'enough is enough.' It wasn't about persevering silently or accepting the nerfed world; it was about making their voices heard, about standing up for the game they loved. Because when it comes to the games we play, the hope is not just something we give ourselves. It's something we demand from those who hold the reins. This is the true essence of player power.

I was very excited for this game and it seemed like Blizzard had finally gained an understanding of what diablo players wanted in D3. However they released this game in a regressed state from D3 and with the latest patch they are further showing that they either don't understand what players want, or they just don't care. Very disappointed. I will check back in on the game in season 10 or so.

The game looks pretty and atmospheric..the dungeons, music, voice acting, skill animations etc. just perfect... BUT! when it comes to the animation of the item drops and how the items look on the ground then it feels like a cheap indie game and i can give only 1/10..this is just sad because item drops is all about in that game and it looks so bad...same with that hp potion icon that we have to collect to heal up, it looks so bad..also the font of the items that drop on the ground, feels like i would read some word document and not play a diablo game. Then the mass of items that drop all the time in that game, it feels bit boring walking all the time and deconstructing things..The dungeon quests are also bit weird.."pick up a stone and bring it from A to B" is ok i mean i could do that once or twice but not all the time, people make that kind of games at first lesson in programming school...or better "kill all monsters" ..the creators just have no imagination. The other bad thing is the price for that game..is way to high because it feels like some cheap game made by few people. The view on the character is kind of weird..looks like ppl from POE worked on it or something..missing a bigger zoom out for sure. Also when we get a reward at the end of some quest and a big chest drops from the air ..this looks like diablo 3 style or some torchlight game..it makes d4 not so atmospheric anymore. The other thing what i don't understand are the ratings for diablo 4 from PC magazines and why they are so high compared to normal player ratings...
    Last but not least..
Putting a store into the game with cosmetics is so - so, will not comment this BUT! the premium battle pass where people lvl or the option to lvl up for platin money (real money) is just pay to win, nothing left to say.

It takes the qualities to ruin ahead of time an experience that, even with many problems, had potential.
What's the point of extending a season patch to the inside world since the new mechanics will be eliminated in the third month.
With what courage can I now buy the Battle Pass, or rather with what desire can I face the new season which basically only has the mechanics of these hearts

The patch had only one effect making me return to PoE making me regret having abandoned it for these 5 weeks and making me wait even more hype for the presentation of PoE2.
As for WOW, Diablo 4, personally, is done with me too... they will be able to release all the seasons and DLCs they want but the point is that by now we can no longer trust Blizzard and that band of developers who after this patch have shown that they have never played the game they developed themselves.
I strongly advise against the purchase and save the money that it is not really worth it. GG BLIZZARD

I played Sorc, so color my words as you see fit.

Yeah, this is gonna get worse.

So... there were problems. Major problems. But D3 had similar problems, and they fixed it. And continued a rotation of fixing and breaking and it was ok - eventually I got tired of it all and stopped but I still put in 2 years in that game, so I got my money's worth. So D4 is going to come out strong, right? Right...?

Well, yes and no - they clearly had some good lessons learned. The game had some great moments at first. And Blizzard was trying to fix some of the major complaints with QoL. Nice!

Sorcs were busted in a bad way - sidekick to the sidekick levels of bad. But hey - balance patches fix everything! And season 1 is coming and that's when we'll see our patch! We eagerly wait 1.1.0

    Well, 1.1.0 dropped.

Holy shirt. They made it worse. They literally took every complaint and ignored them. They made the game mathematically worse in every way. Every build players made to try and cope with some of the bad game designs were absolutely destroyed across the board. The best classes got squashed, and the worst classes got caught in the same crush. Sorcs are unplayable. Poor damage and survivability BEFORE the patch GOT MUCH MUCH WORSE. There's no playtesting being done. There's no thought being put into the game at all. All of the QoL changes we asked for were ignored. There's no consistent benefit to playing anymore - and Blizzard hasn't shown any desire to make it happen. They just want to push the battle pass. Why? Because it's an income stream. That's all that matters to them. Shut up and buy the battle pass.

My friends and I were having fun playing. We aren't anymore. I wasted money on this game.

The developers plant their Q&A sessions with boring questions that nobody cares about, while ignoring the playerbase entirely and talking about colonoscopies.

There is so much potential, and we won't see it for another 4 years after the playerbase has entirely died down. Then and only then, will we expect a resurgence. But for me, it will be too late.

Yesterday came the pre Season 1 patch, that changed everything - for worse. It was nothing but one long nerf to everything that made our characters feel powerful and satisfying: character power, experience gained, loot (in a LOOT BASED GAME ffs). They even made a "teleport from the dungeon" action longer for some reason, lol. Why all this? To make people reroll to the Seasonal realms, in which the characters might find some paltry compensation for all that lost power in form of some borrowed power mechanics.

Basically they just made the game harder for no reason other than to make us have to grind for everything longer.

XP comes more slowly, leveling takes longer.
Damage on EVERY front has been reduced, fighting takes longer.
Drop rates for Helltide cinders has been lowered, opening Chests of Mystery takes longer.
Everyone's been made more damageable, ok, well, time spent alive is shorter.

The list goes on an on. The specifics are infuriating. It just takes longer to do everything. It's like Blizzard just wants everyone to play Diablo 4 longer, but no one wants to play a game that's been made boring and too time-consuming to play!

Oh: and nothing to address the VRAM memory leak issues. I've got a 4070 on a 7800x3d, and the stuttering is unplayable for ultra textures. Had to reduce!

As soon as I realized that I would need to make a new character for season 1 (I figured since it was like a month after launch it wouldn't reset, but that's on me I guess), I decided to just wait until start of season 1. In that time, I have seen worse and worse decisions killing the potential of this game. I wish I'd never bought it and won't be picking it back up.

Once you get to level 60, the game dies off. The latest patch 1.1 doesn't address anything wrong with the game. Just get the mount to work right.

For example, they said CDR was overly prioritized by the playerbase on available item rolls, so they nerfed the amount of CDR you could get. Hilariously, they could have simply allowed CDR to roll on other items to reduce the demand since the supply would be in more abundance. By nerfing the stat, they've effectively increased the demand, lol.

This recent patch also destroyed any sort of build diversity.

Honestly, I don't even think this team is capable of improving the game, because they simply don't understand it.

I am level 100 since multiply weeks and the patch really felt like a massive downgrade in everything. It feels like the initial version of this game was not correctly played by gamers as expected by the game designers, therefor they had to do these dramatic changes now. But practically for me after being 670 hours ingame, that nows feels like a massive funchpunch and my character is much weaker. I had max rolled items which are now min rolles, so I practically lost a lot of gold. Everything takes much longer now and you get less rewards. No Quality of Life features like new stash space have been added, it was really balancing downgrades only. Giving this patch without anything giving back (like add fun or rewards) - feels like a massive disappointment. Hence this rating and I hope it will be fixed Expand

Story is quite good enjoyed playing through it and leveled up to 80. Was enjoyable but slowly turned into a slow grind. That i could deal with but now with the latest patch with nerfs to damage and making it easier to die and xp gains are nerfed its a grind fest. Less damage less kills less lot drops, increased skill times so less skills to use not so much action in this arpg now ! Oh andStory is quite good enjoyed playing through it and leveled up to 80. I can't play this game at all. The colors are not passing any accessibility guidelines and my eyes are burning after 30 minutes. No map overlay also adds huge eye strain on my wide monitor. I can't even finish campaign because of it.

It’s almost like Diablo 4 developers are consciously fighting against everything that made classic Diablo fun. [Issue#262, p.80]

While the future of the game is anyone’s guess, at present Diablo IV is a solid, but strangely unambitious take that fails to bring much new to the table. By the end of my travels, I was more than willing to put it down and take a break — somewhere amongst all the grinding, Diablo IV had unfortunately ground me down as well.

The best Blizzard launch in a long time and a worthy game to be called Diablo.
