If you ever played Diablo 3, you will know exactly what to do in immortal, just with far less variety in your spells. In theory, this could be a cool foundation for a mobile game, but it gets dull very quickly. In the beginning you get rewarded with levelups often enough, but at around level 35 itThis product is essentially a dumbed down version of Diablo 3, turned into a slot machine. If you ever played Diablo 3, you will know exactly what to do in immortal, just with far less variety in your spells. In theory, this could be a cool foundation for a mobile game, but it gets dull very quickly. In the beginning you get rewarded with levelups often enough, but at around level 35 it gets very grindy. While grinding might be ok on a PC, it certainly isnt on a mobile device.

    And now imagine that in D3 you had a way of improving your droprate in greater rifts significantly (!!!) by throwing money at the game. Wouldn't that take even the last bit of fun out of it? Diablo Immortal leaves no chance untouched at trying to get you to pay. Watch all the videos about it, it is infuriatingly bad. I feel very bad for the actual developers of this game, because they certainly tried. But the decisions of the Activision Blizzard management people make it very clear that this is not a game or an entertainment product, but one huge milking machine. I will however give it a bad score for its HORRIBLE monetization. When you beat a story boss, instead of being given quality loot, you are given the chance to BUY THAT LOOT! WTF!! The dungeons are quite repetitive, with bosses being mediocre, with minimal mechanics.

    ~75 hours played on both mobile/PC, so experienced all the game has to offer me, and can confidently say, it's by far the worst Diablo game to date, mobile game or not, the MTX P2W (in the PVP scene) make this unworthy of downloading, let alone playing.    … Expand

    I really wanted to like this game. The combat felt nice but as I played more and more, I realized you could stand in every AOE, and just hold left click to win every fight. I got to paragon 8 I think, and then I got up to challenge rift 18. Every challenge rift before this was easy mode and it suddenly became impossible to progress. Not only are you required to use other gems to upgrade your gems, which is already nearly impossible as a f2p player, but you also have to upgrade a gem before you can use it as a material to upgrade a gem. Talk about ridiculous. I instantly uninstalled the game after discovering this. Blozzard can literally burn in Hell.… Expand

Straight out of the gate you’re being told you will lose 800% value unless you start buying. If you bite at that point you’ve already begun your journey into spending a ghastly amount of $$$.     This is a shame that will forever haunt Blizzard and especially the Diablo lore and community . Blizzard has been on my daily gaming life since i was 12 ( i'm 31 now ) , not anymore . My last try will be Diablo 4 , but now i'm affraid they do this P2W thing again . Don't ruin Diablo !

Getting a desirable 2/5 star legendary gem just to rank 5 (out of 10) will cost you 475 one star gems AND 7 copies of the gem that are very rare to acquire in the first place. Legendary crests which guarantee a single legendary gem drop after an Elder Rift (the only place in the game they drop from, and they won't drop without a crest) can be acquired at the rate of 2-3 per month if you don't spend money. And most of the time, the crest will drop a one star gem. Given that there are six gem slots, and the above is for just one, you understand that you will likely grow old and croak it before you ever approach this goal.

    The game conditions you early on to spend money by offering you very cheap bundles that contain legendary crests. These bundles get progressively more and more expensive. To buy crests for the paid currency eternal orbs works out at ten for roughly £22. You can slot ten crests into a rift at any one time that will give you ten legendary gems (which will be mostly one star, with a 1/2000 chance for a 5/5 star). Even if you are lucky enough to get a very desirable gem after spending this money, all that lies before you is to spend even more money to rank that gem up (see the costs above for a rank 5 coveted gem).

    As a psych grad, trust me: this game looks and feels like Diablo, but at its core it is a casino where every system is designed to keep you paying. If you play this Diablo game like the previous instalments, in that you want the best for your character, understand that you cannot beat this system. Do not throw your money away. Enjoy it for what it is, but don't spend money you don't have. This game is designed to exploit you and to foster addictive behaviours.

    You NEED to spend money if you want your character to be powerful and do the best content (and even then its not a sure thing to get the gems you require to improve your equipment). Further more, once you hit 60 and Paragon, it is required to be logged in at specific times, days and places to even have a remote chance of keeping up with everyone else. Oh, and you'll be under even more pressure if you’re in one of the leading dark clans on your server.

    Worse, the game behaviorally encourages players who can be defined as f2p in the classical sense to switch to p2w, while paving the way for p2w victims to have pay2pay. Because, when p2w victims can't find their expectations due to the hidden caps everywhere in the game, they are always consciously or unconsciously giving more and more money in order not to lose the value of the previously paid money in the game.

    Blizzard killed the Diablo franchise and lowered its own value.

It's hard to believe Blizzard would jeopardize almost three decades of trust for this "game". Deserves nothing above a 0.0 rating. This is my first time ever reviewing anything, I've never cared, but this "game" deserves it that much.     Its a free to play game. I do expect my self to toss a few bucks at F2P games.
    But this is just pure evil on blizzards part. Other than that the game is amazing. Voice actors are amazing, the game play is fun the touch controls are better than a controller?!     Diablo Immortal is a simplified and more accessible version of the series that can still provide hours of mindless fun and entertainment. Sadly, the games suffers in the long run because of all the tedious grinding and the greedy monetization system, making a game experience that starts as very enjoyable much less so as time goes on.
