    The game is amazing all the bad reviews are people who haven't played it (or only played the demo). I'd just like BioWare to admit that this was intended as a single player game but EA insisted that it be an MMO.

    Before i start this review let me get this out of the way, i have played almost all the games that came from this company and this is solely based on my experience during my 27 hours i have spent in this game.

    I ll keep this short. This game for me is mediocre. i say this with great sadness due to the company behind it and its glorious history. Lets start with the positive.     Lets start with the positive.

    Gameplay: Exceptional combat, there is something very satisfying flying around Iron-man style obliterating everything in your path. Responsive gunplay, over the top environment and general graphics quality. In depth customization for the dudes that enjoy that kind of thing in a game. That`s all, seriously that`s all the positive and that baffles me.

    Negative.

    After the 5-6 hour mark everything becomes routine, the same old missions,go fetch that, come protect this and so on. Repetition in a game while it`s fun and it gives you a sense of progress, it is not that bad, however in this case it is boring, it`s tiring, the challenges are awful, competing against your team for resources IT IS bad,faulty, outrageous,wrong, change it, now.

    The Hub, yes my dudes the players hub, an eye candy of a place,astonishing to look at,however it is plagued by overthinking, full of crap npc`s that will tire you just by blabbing away your time with meaningless conversations, without any choices in the narrative like we used to adore in the Mass effect series. just traversing the hub it`s unbearable ,slow, time consuming experience that you can`t wait for it to end and get out in that gorgeous world to blow things up.

    The bugs. Where shall i start, the loading times? Averaging 2 minutes loading times with a high end rig and an nvme drive. Invisible or vanishing enemies, quests not registering (requiring you to restart) ,game crashing that caused me to miss some of the cut scenes having no clue what the hell was going on at times, missing out on quests, loots, and time, oh precious time.

    The loot. Unimaginative loot, different recoloring of the same weapons,the same boring loot (ah destiny destiny). For a loot based game like Anthem these kind of drops are...i leave that to you.

    I wasn't expecting this "Anthem". To be honest at a time i was very excited for this game,"omg bioware game, they must have learnt from their mistakes,this is gonna be an epic game". Nop, its not. ITS WORSE than Andromeda.

    This game has so much potential but as it stands right now, its bad, its rushed,its disappointing. Not worth the money.

    A message for the Devs. I know you have put a lot of time in the development of Anthem. I can see it, in the graphics, in the gameplay, in the concept. Don`t know what went wrong. The transition from unreal to frostbite? deadlines from EA? suits calling the shots? Don`t know, don`t care. Unfortunately it falls to you to fix it.     Disclaimer: I am a console gamer. I suspect much criticism for Anthem is unhappy PC people. If PC players (our self-proclaimed 'Lords') are gonna **** about how console-intended games (like Anthem) don't work perfectly on their $5000 space laser-powered master-race machines, then I will **** about their hygiene, and about how their PC-specific games don't run like water on my console. Now that I've alienated a section of my audience, lets begin ;)

    1. "Every mission feels the same": The immense variety in the world around you and the range of ability, weapon and class combinations makes old fights/ missions re-playable again and again. Color outside the lines. Think differently and take some damn initiative. Stop waiting for someone to hold your hand.

    2. "Weapon play 0/10": Even the harshest critics admit Anthem's combat system is amazing. Ya, if you choose a high-damage sniper rifle with smaller magazine, you'll be re-loading a lot. So, craft/ find/win an armor upgrade that increases clip size. Or consider using a higher magazine gun

    3. "Graphics are terrible": Are you insane? Again, even haters agree it's gorgeous... PC vs console rivalry does not make for a game review

    4. "Loading screens everywhere": There are loading screens in 3 places. a) Entering a dungeon b) Returning to base c) Changing armor loadout/ appearance. You may need to wait for your party to load if playing co-op. None of these things should be controversial

    5. "Game cannot be played solo": This is B**S*** Some of the most fun I've had is flying around by myself like at the beginning of the game, landing on an old temple and switching to my sniper rifle to get a good view of an enemy base to count troop numbers, high-value targets, and to plan. Freeplay mode allows you to run solo. And it's epic. I was itching to get back into single-player mode the soonest I could, and it was glorious

    6. "Story/ writing issues": This criticism has some merit. The 'show-don't-tell' rule applies to narratives in video games like anywhere, which it seems the writer forgot (in some places). It IS done properly in some areas, but a new lead writer is needed. Luckily, Drew is no longer working on Anthem (Goodbye Drew!). The world that was built around the scene A-to-B plot is deep, lore-filled and has so many opportunities for further narrative exploration. Can't wait to see what a good writer will do with it (EA, if you're reading this and hiring writers, hmu babe)

    7. "Lacks environmental diversity": Lush jungles, underwater worlds, ancient stone ruins, abandoned alien facilities, underground caves, alien bases/ camps, and more. Did you even play the whole game or speed run it in 2 hours to justify a bad review and to meet an article deadline? Jesus

    8. "Anthem = Destiny-lite": Dear reader, I encourage you to Google 'Anthem v.s. Destiny big differences'. Don't be sheep

    9. "Server drops": All online games have disconnects. Name an online game that had 100% perfect connection 100% of the time. I've been playing since official launch on Feb. 22 and dropped only 3 times. That's better than Halo 3 matchmaking. I defy you to show me an game without drops

    10. "Loot system": I view the loot in Anthem as a 'nice-to-have-but-not-necessary'. The point of the game is not to make players chase loot forever. Which is a good thing. Gear for the sake of gear is stupid and boring. Give me freedom. Give me flight, good combat, intrigue and challenge me. Give me more Anthem

    11. "No respawn": I like this feature, personally. Firstly, THERE IS RESPAWN in Freeplay solo-player mode. In co-op missions, your teammates must save you, and if all are incapacitated, you all respawn together. I was never down for longer than a minute, because all members of a team are needed to beat enemies etc. I like saving people who fall because I have a hero-complex which my psychologist says is unhealthy

    12. "Buggy": I have seen no bugs. None. Zero. Consider playing Anthem on console, like it was intended

    13. "Lootboxes/ in-game transactions": There are no lootboxes in Anthem. None. This is a lie. The only in-game purchases are for optional skins/ armor that don't affect gameplay. The criticism of Anthem has reached new and insidious proportions with this complaint (appropriately saved for #13 on this list)

    As I near the character limit that Metacritic has given me for this wall-of-text, I'd like to reflect on the state of the gamer/review community in general. It really seems like nothing is enough anymore. Even without lootboxes, people cry lootboxes - or something else - anything else to get views. Outrage sells

    Personally for me, Anthem has potential; a lot of it. I'm 20 hours into the game, not even doing the main story right now and I love it. It's an RPG Looter game, and I've only a few issues on xbox one x: Audio cutting out, got disconnected once, and an invisible titan.

    The game play is amazing, I love flying, the fighting and the love.

    I am thoroughly enjoying this game. There are a couple of issues that can be addressed. Namely the content quantity. It is a little lacking, but considering they have a lot of free content releases coming in the next couple of months, I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on how much there will be 6 months from now. I personally enjoy the combat mechanics and don’t find it boring despite being repetitive. The story isn’t Oscar worthy, but the list of games that have that kind of story are very few and far between anyway. The story is decent, but I will say that I’m really liking the world that this game takes place in. It’s very interesting to me. In the end, before you give this game a straight 0 because it’s EA and some Youtuber said it’s bad, give it a shot and be objective. I thought I’d hate this game. I ended up loving it. (Side note: the micro transactions are really not that bad and the grind for those items seems quite balanced. I’ve never once felt like I needed to spend real money at all for an item.)… Expand

    I can't connect to the servers 99% of the time, having managed to connect 3 times over about 2 hours of continuous trying. Attempted the port forwarding which made no difference and I don't see why I have to forward ports to get an online game to work anyway. I never have had to with any other online game I have played (17+ years of games). Complete nonsense for a £54 game.

    While it isn't perfect it is a very enjoyable play experience, I would probably say at this point it is maybe a 7.5/10 but like others i am adjusting my score to counter a lot of the hate it seems to be getting.

    For me it is a fun game I can play with friends without the stress of it being competitive.     The game plays very well and feels very satisfying flying around, using abilities and shooting things. I was actually a bit surprised about the variety of play styles you get between the 4 javelins and the gear choices on each and that is before you add in the masterwork/legendary equipment which open up a lot of options that would not have been as good with just the base skills.

    I feel that people who are writing hate reviews are expecting Anthem to be a different game than it is, it isn't a Mass Effect or Dragon Age style story with world changing events based on the users actions, but it never intended to be that. It is a looter shooter with some RPG elements and that is what it should be rated as.    … Expand

    Feeling like all negatives are continuing from launch day and early assess , then most newly registered haters just continue to complain the known issues despite some solutions are already available.

    It is not a perfect game, and I have never seen any game goes perfect (except Witcher 3, perhaps ?). I can control the flight and swim now and the loading and connection is actually way better than the demo days.

    Unlike other parties that driven by youtubers reaction to build the game and release solution , Bioware is actually doing well in keeping all plans transparent and active in respond by keeping improving work running .    … Expand

    A fantastic looking game with NO substance. AE has managed, yet again, to force a development studio to release an unfinished product that is not fun to play at all on the count of the really long loading screens that happen way too frequently.

    The finished game does not look anything like the E3 Demo from 2017. Once you start playing things feel very same and grindy and frustrating as    A fantastic looking game with NO substance.     I don't understand the hate for this game. Perhaps I am still in the 'Honeymoon Phase' because I have really enjoyed this so far. The story is a little below expectations for a BioWare title, but given that it's a multiplayer game I think that offsets it some. There are some technical issues (multiplayer) which can be a major headache. I think the latest patch actually made that worse.I don't understand the hate for this game.     This is the most boring game with a Bioware-Logo on it i have every played.
    I felt asleep with a controller in my hand. Repetitive after 25 minutes.
    This is fact. No hate.
    EA really destroyed the original Bioware Studio.

    But Bioware did not manage to involve the story into the gameplay and the open world. The story plays only in Fort Tarsis and in your journal, the dialogues and your decisions are not relevant. The open world feels lifeless and unvaried, especial if you compare it to the E3 trailer. There are many loading screens and the game feels not like an Open World Loot Shooter like e.g.
    The Division did. The numbers of opponents and fractions are limited, like mission types. Opponents are only a challenge by numbers. There is no real tactic with random team members, because there is no way to communicate ingame.

    You can have some fun for an hour at after-work if you want some instant action, but i don't know if Bioware can fill the world of Anthem with more life and a more involving and more interesting story which invites you and your friends to explore this strange sci-fi world.    … Expand

    This is the pinnacle of EA mess. Seriously when was the last game that they hyped up and was there "big game" that was a hit? 7 years of development for the most boring story, coming from BIOWARE.

    Lets remember that Bioware is dead, its not the same Bioware we love, its just a shell for EA now.

    I just cannot understand why this game is getting so much hate other than the fact that EA is involved. Just browsing through some of these reviews reveals the complete garbage people make up, for what reason? Sadly this has been happening more and more recently across a variety of other very decent games.

    The load screens are fine after the day one patch, which will probably improve even more in the coming days. All the reviews are basically from the early access period or from the 10hr trial during early access and yes, during that period, load times were long and the tethering was very harsh (Which has also been improved). I am currently around 50hrs into the game and nothing has seemed stale, there also hasn't been a lack of content and the story is pretty good for a looter shooter.

    On to the good stuff!
    -DLC IS FREE!
    -The cash shop doesn't sell any advantageous items and all items can be bought for a fair amount of ingame currency.
    -The graphics are amazing! (Whoever says they are terrible are just downright igorant or has technological expectations that exceed the human race' capabilites.)
    -The world is extremely detailed from the very depths of the dark waters to the top of the soaring cliffs!
    -Gunplay and combat is some of the best in the industry.
    -The movement and controls are amazing, transitioning from sky to ground, to water is almost seamless with a great sense of weight to your Javelin.
    -Sound design really immerses you into the world with all sorts of critters and wind effects and the satisfying hiss of flying through the spray of a waterfall to cool down your jets.
    -The overall story is solid, followed with tons of dialogue from characters scattered around Fort Tarsis.
    -The game is challenging! Constantly forces you to be mobile and work together with fellow freelancers. (People who think they can John Wick through content alone will be sorely mistaken.)
    -The campaign can be played SOLO and yes freeplay forces you into a session with 3 other Freelancers but you are not forced to follow them around. You can explore at your own pace.

    On to the bad stuff!

    -Currently you can't select to replay story missions, which I assume will change soon. (Unless you jump into a quickplay match to help out other Freelancers through their story.)
    -Character creation is a bit pointless as you very rarely get to see your avatar, unless they have plans on this design choice at a later date.
    -Hope to see a TRUE social hub/hubs and more focus on social interaction.
    -UI is still a bit clunky, but has already been improved upon and can yet be improved more.
    -Servers are still a bit volatile.

    Overall Anthem is a great game that is underserved of all the hate and I hope to see you all soon in the skies of Bastion!    … Expand

Коротко и по существу последнее время у русскоязычных блогеров принято хаить игру даже не поиграв в релиз а получив ранний доступ по подписке и не надо кричать типо дема это все уже показатель качества и, нас кинули дав за наши деньги доступ к недоделке, вам дали по подписке доступ не конкретно к Anthem а ко всему что есть в подписке и в релизеНе кидаю обычно отзывов но тут обида взяла. Коротко и по существу последнее время у русскоязычных блогеров принято хаить игру даже не поиграв в релиз а получив ранний доступ по подписке и не надо кричать типо дема это все уже показатель качества и, нас кинули дав за наши деньги доступ к недоделке, вам дали по подписке доступ не конкретно к Anthem а ко всему что есть в подписке и в релизе пат чем поправили почти все и да я уже прошёл сюжет и могу судить о контенте. И мы все понимаем что вам надо количество просмотров которые лучше всего подымаются на хае как все плохо и на максимально раннем освещении игры но ребятки совесть тоже надо иногда иметь и не в прямом смысле как это у вас получается.

    Лор боевых экзоскелетов (жаль но его не много с хорошей современной графикой)++

    Персонажы вызывают эмоции становясь (не чужими не все есть статичные болванки)
    и мы говорим не о сюжетном сингл-рпг а лутер-шутере где сюжет должен обычно стоять для галочки сюжет здесь неплох++
    Строение карты мне понравился новый опыт когда видя далеко внизу землю ты понимаеш что можеш туда спустится и это не статичная картинка.
    Минусы Мир практически статичен да хищники нападаю га травоядных но их встречи настолько редки что попробуй заметь это.
    Оружие-тут нет ни красивой кузницы как в ф4 и нет карточек как в
    варфрейме сделано по старым традициям с фисацией доп+ на стволе и атребутах но атрибутов достаточно много и в легендарке 5 свойств чтоб подобрать все 5 нужных уйдет достаточно времени чтобы опровдать лутание но да жаль не так интересно.
    Статистика ее почти нет то есть базовой статы но возможно я конечно мамонт игроманов, но в состоянии как в старые времена провести такую нехитрую манипуляцию как взять бумагу и посчитать сколько кубиков дает 1000 к броне разделить и примерно получить сколько на 1 кубик в цифровом эквиваленте и так со всем на оружие стата нормальная.

    Не очень большую карту в - не ставлю скоро 2 и 3 акт сразу города не строятся контент обещали и я им верю.    … Expand

    The gunplay is pretty awful and unvaried and the combat gets pretty dull after a couple of hours as you face the same 6-7 enemies from beginning to end of the game.
    Being forced to use Frostbite also seems to have hurt the development as the loading screens are atrocious even post "Day 1 patch", not so much in terms of length but how many screens are required to navigate the game.
    The UI is diabolical which is highlighted if you were one of the lucky people to have to use this so often during the grind they removed in the story quest to artificially inflate its length.
    Which is about 4hrs long in reality.

    The player HUB is one of the most lifeless places i've seen in any "MMO" and slowly walking around to clean up the dialogue options and speak to bland lifeless characters with generic dull dialogue was an absolute chore.

    Bioware have fallen a long way from the story telling masters they were in the past and the writing will likely be on the wall after this 2nd successive utter failure.

    I don't know if this game is able to be saved, it will take an expansion pretty much the same length as what is here already to make this a worthwhile product and some design choices would have to be re-visited to make this a more user friendly experience.

    Avoid this dumpster fire for now and maybe check it out in 6 months time if they managed to graft some more flesh on to these bones.    … Expand

Story is too short, there should be much more content to begin with. More strongholds, more weapons, more free-play activities. And last issue for me - loading.     No soul that you would expect from the name Bioware but all of the minimum effort you expect from EA. Absolute minimum game design essentially no evolution or progression and overpriced. This is a $9.99 game IMHO. You can put lipstick on a pig, but I'm not kissing it. This game is the pig in that analogy.

    I can't agree more with the low score reviews. It is almost disrespectful how bad the game is. It feels like a shell with nothing inside. Gameplay is super stiff and uninspiring and the open world it's just there. Don't support this game. We deserve more.

    Great game, people should try it for themselves instead of listening to all the negative reviews from people who haven't even bought the game.

    The games strengths lie in its combat, its fun and with 4 very different javelins you can play your way.

    The game is not perfect, but no game is. There is a lot of work to be done, but Bioware is already on it.

I would have gotten butchered in reviews . its like PC gamers are getting fed up but some are taken it 2 far. However, the game looks great, is easy and pleasant to play, gives a lot of impressions and emotions. It has a positive atmosphere in spite of the dark events of the story.     The combat mechanic is fun, and the game is beautiful. The biggest problem is the general mission structure; it is highly repetitive. It usually alternates between killing enemies and finding stuff scattered around.     I haven't really played the game before the day 1 patch but since the launch, I haven't run into any major bug personally; the game is stable and the loadings are not too big either. Although I most admit I am mostly playing solo, with a fast SSD (Samsung 960 Pro).

    Overall, I think the game is promising but in its current state, it isn't for everyone. This game may succeed; it will depend on Bioware's ability to deliver content regularly, while adding content diversity. But right now, it feels a bit simplistic amd rushed.    … Expand

    20h in game and have fun so far. I didn't notice any gamebreaking bugs. Fights on high difficulties are awesome. The story is OK. Game is highly replayable.

    This is an unfinished, not fun, super grindy and a recycle machine. It might look nice, but that is it. This is an alpha more than a full release, and I have no idea what the 60$ is getting you. Compare this 60$ game to something like Red Dead 2 or Horizon Zero Dawn, is that fair? No, because they are not even in the same reality. DO NOT BUY THIS

    - The sound breaks 50% of the time I load a new screen, which is OFTEN.
    -Loading screens are abysmal. With the installation on a SSD, I spend nearly equal times in the loading screens and playing a mission.
    -More on loading. The "home" area is split between 3 different areas. WHY? And WHY are there loading screens between them.

    Everything about this game just feels wrong. They had fantastic combat, a great background story and lore, great graphics and animation, and then flopped the execution. This BARELY deserves a 2.    … Expand

    It's not a bad game but you need a high end GPU and an SSD. It may have been a bit over hyped but all in all I'd say it was a good game. It needs much more content to it's name. It's literally enduring the same type of disaster ME:A incurred. I hope they go back to enhancing Mass Effect Andromeda because it is hands down a better game and it had far more content than Anthem.

    Anthem is a open world game made by Bioware. the world looks breathtaking and flying in the mechsuits is really fun.... and thats basically it. because its more hollow then you might think, my first impressions were like ''wow what a big world'' and then i hit the invisible wall, the world simply looks big, but its kinda small, gameplay is repetitive, shoot,kill shoot repeat, if you are down then you need to wait untill they see that you are down and get you back up your feet, if you have unhelpfull teammate's... well you are screwed. Then the NPC's, since the game is kinda a copy of mass effect 4 its not really a surprise that its NPC's behave exactly the same way, they are dumb, easy to kill, and with a bit of luck they kill themselfs. since its made by bioware i expected the same level of storytelling as Swtor and mass effect, but for anhtem.... not so, yeah sure it has some story, but it rather lore then true storytelling and they keeps things lowprofile which means by my understanding that they are thinking about making anthem into a series so they can milk that story for the comming years....wait did they did that with destiny? anyway last but not least....performance, i have a 2080ti with a 9900k on my 2560 × 1440 screen. and there where some weird things going on, in the closed alpha i reached a fps of 100- 150isch which is pretty decent, personal i want atleast 100 fps in multiplayer game's and the alpha was running smooth. the beta...not so..... i got framedrops like most of the time to the point i thought there was something wrong with my hardware, after checking other game's running fine i had to come to the conclusion that Bioware made the beta worse then the alpha, and even now they game feel clunky at moment's and knowing EA they might released the beta as the full game and fix it if it makes enough money the first month, after Experiencing the fix for star wars battlefront 2 which should have took place the first month after release... and guess what? it took them over a year to fix it, as a matter of fact, the content that they are adding now is still part of the fix, since it should have been added on the day of release. but that's the tactic of EA now''release a broken game so it save money and time, if it just make's enough ''fix it'' after the first month so people cant get there refund, and then release some ''updates'' to keep you playing for a while and then they simply start with a new cash-grab title and repeat all of the above. my advice is if you really want to give it a try.. wait for a year, maby then the game is ''fixed'' and playable and you save some of your well earned money... but for now its nothing more then a Faulty full released beta with a lack of content,performence and lackluster storytelling.    … Expand

    And the connection is Sh*t, loading screens, pff, 3 minutes to load EVERYTHING, you want to customize your Javelin, 3 minutes to do so, want to play something, 3 minutes to play, fortunately, the pause menu is integrated natively on the game, just think what it would be if you need to wait 3 minutes to pause or configure the game.

    It's also missing much needed features.
    Full of gamebreaking bugs, badly optimized, unbelievable loading times, bad FPS on a high-end machine after patch.
    No matter what you do, you will keep losing about 30% of your progress due to bugs, crashes, serverside disconnects.

Stories generally build characters from back story to understand why and this game doesn't have even have that in the slightest. Everyone you meet feels like a token character and you wanting to skip dialog after 4 hours of play as it is the most lazy writing ever. The story is generic bad army with no purpose other then to be bad does bad things. seriously the story starts off with that. no, hey these bad people want to accomplish XYZ, instead you have hey they are doing bad things, better stop them. This game is devoid of a greater purpose in story. For bioware last year claiming our choices would have repercussions and then in game for it to mean nothing feels like we have been lied to as a community. Also the article was posted last year in June.
    The game is pretty, when the game works, and looks great but that is it. That is basically the single thing bioware did right here. They made the game look good. The environment looks great, customizing the look of your Javelin is one of the best i have seen so far for games. The hub city was one thing they really didn't get right though.
    There are other unfortunately bad parts of this game. loading to just configure your Javelin seems rather silly as other games in this genre have had this nailed down. If there was nothing else to compare this too it would be a none issue but seeing as how other publishers can do this in games even 6 years old without a separate loading screen it is a big fail.
    Even is joking around way to much in what is suppose to be a hard time to live in. Seriously it really breaks the experience. Imagine playing a horror game but everyone was telling jokes and always smiling. that is this game with their character and writings.
    If you go to quick play, you can get into the last story mission of the game as a level 3. Yep, plenty of other sources to back this up. That is a very big flaw to have if you care about story.
    Needless to say, I want this game to be great but it misses so many marks that the core of it needs a major rework in order to fix it. One of my friends put it best. They spent years making a ten dollar game for the wal-mart bargain bin.    … Expand

    I loved the gameplay, it's a lot of fun to play, the skills of each class, the differences of each and the possibility and fluidity of the flight is great, but the story and the loadings disappoint me a lot. I love and hate this game !!!

    I can only review the experience I had from 15 Feb 2019:

    The Good: amazing graphics, especially the world; flying about firing off abilities
    The Bad: unbearable loading times, constant server disconnects, bland missions, rubbish Strongholds, worthless loot, weak guns, awful city hub full of vapid dialogue.

    Things had improved by 22 Feb: but overall it's still an unfinished, beautiful mess.

    The game as a whole, is addicting. I find myself coming back very frequently and for long periods of time. In order for you to enjoy the game, you need to get into it! Don't play the game like it's a game. Play it like it's your life. like you were born to fly around and shoot baddies.

    What is available at launch is ok...it's average...a bit lackluster but not trash... though not as good as say ...destiny 2 on launch (which was far from perfect).

    The single player experience is simply not there yet.
    The multiplayer just doesnt work yet.
    A lot doesnt work yet. I dont know why this is beyond a too early release which is disappointing after 6 years and so nuch hard work and good will on all sides.

    I do find it kind of offensive that the devs publisher would do this to fans. It's like a boat with no life jackets and a small hole and only one engine.
    We're all going in circles and sinking slightly but we know we can't jump out without drowning.
    Not much planning by the crew so we all just have to hope they fix the leak asap.
    No one would call the latter a pleasure cruize and it be unacceptible in other industires....So why should we accept an incomplete broken game? I don't think we should.

    Despite this the game has some fun mechnaics which almost nail the ambitious ideas Anthem claimed it would reach and could reach maybe in a year or so if they listen to fans.
    But right now...Buyer beware. Wait and see.

    In terms of the game itself, the core mechanics of game play are solid and are a lot of fun, the 4 suits do all feel different with each having their own play style and feel and the free play option is a lot of fun to explore and find new and interesting things on the map.
    Playing with friends is good and most probably use Discord etc to communicate and so friends who can communicate well can easily co-ordinate themselves to set up combo's and triggers. The ability to customize your suits are a lot of fun and quite detailed with several layers of options.
    Now since this game is new there are a lot of missions that have the same events and it is possible to hit end game fairly easily but with free DLC and updates advised so that it doesn't splinter the player base and with the method Bioware have stated they have developed the mission types into a pool system so they can just drop new styles into the game without any downtime or patching i'm pretty confident in this games ability to expand and grow faster and more successfully that either of the Destiny games did.
    For anyone reading this who remembers the old game Firefall, this is actually quite a similar feel of game and is one of the reasons i'm enjoying it more than a lot of other games I have played recently.    … Expand

    Generally fun and entertaining, despite the rough start from the VIP Demo. Not a complete game, nor was it marketed as one, simply as a game that is to be upgraded as time goes on. After 2 patches, my personal PC's load times have dropped from 1 minute to 30 seconds loading into free play, and 15 seconds loading into solo. Not a complete game, nor was it marketed as one, simply as a game that is to be upgraded as time goes on. After 2 patches, my personal PC's load times have dropped from 1 minute to 30 seconds loading into free play, and 15 seconds loading into solo. Non existent load times for forge or traveling into instances within the world map. A large number of the games guns feel samey or unnecessary like the Guardian and The Warden. Flight is fun, if not a bit overtuned on controller, and the story's highlights are somewhere between mass effect 1 and Dragon Age 2 in quality. Titan fights can be a bit formulaic, but I found fighting Ursix to be incredibly enjoyable. I've played most of the game on Hard and Solo and seemingly have had a different experience than most, but I've generally enjoyed the game as a whole. I'm looking forward to what comes next from Anthem.… Expand

    Its an awesome game ! Needs many improvements agreed , but overall it has a nice feel to it , I’ve spend close to 50 hours now , the anticipation of gertting that awesome legendary , flying around the vast world , it’s just amazing . There are issues agreed , the loading screens are too many and seem to be unnecessary sometimes , end game content isn’t much , but that’s to be expectedIts an awesome game !     I had high hopes for this game and gave it a shot by way of Origin Premier, but it fell short - so very short. It's like the game can't decide what it is and it's missing so many key features that are important in the genre (Destiny, The Division etc). Hopefully Bioware (and EA) will do something about it, because if they get this game in shape, I'm down in a split-second.

It does not matter whether there will be changes and additions being made in the future, I am simply rating the game as it is right now, fully released. Overwhelmingly the 0 reviews are clearly written by those who have only dipped into the demo or who haven't played the game at all, social media is hilarious with its "commentators" telling me I shouldn't play the game or buy it because they haven't and wont because its and "EA" title but then proceed to right lengthy reviews on how bad it is form a stand point of, well absolutely no experience of it whatsoever. In contrast to those negative reviews I am thoroughly enjoying the world of Anthem as am all the friends I am playing with. The game plays beautifully on PS4, I've had no issues whatsover and the gameplay is exciting, creative and most of all fun. Storylines are well crafted and engaging and there is so much to do in the world it is incredible. Anthem is one of the most beautiful looking games I have played and the four different Javelins make for a different experience in gameplay and style depending on which you decide to play. The inclusion of seamless flight extends the combat and exploration in new and exciting ways and blasting off from Fort Tarsis to explore what lies ahead is a real thrill. So I am sorry that so many of you seem to be playing a completely different game to me and many of those who I see writing about their positive experiences with the game. My tip, go buy a copy and take it out of the box and actually play it, you might just find you like it. As for me, Ill leave it here, I've got some Titans to hunt.… Expand

    This game is so broken in its current state. It's also incredibly boring. The objectives are bland, there are only 3 strongholds, 2 of which are recycled from the story, and the repeatable missions are dull and unimaginative. We won't be getting new content until April, when they release a new stronghold (recycled?).     After a while, suspicion sets in: perhaps EA doesn’t believe in BioWare anymore, and had them release not only unpolished, but basically unfinished product to cut losses and avoid another total rework. [Issue#237, p.44]

    If you want to see Anthem’s lush jungle and glistening Javelins, do it right away — this game is losing audience fast, and there’s almost nothing to do after the campaign ends. Or check it out on YouTube to save yourself some nerves and money.

    It's obvious that Anthem didn't have enough development time, but had some great potential. It's a real shame, that everything turned out this way. Even now, the game can bring out positive emotions. Hasty climbers have sudden falls. No matter how ironic this proverb may seem, it's incredibly relevant for Anthem.
