This game is utter garbage, not even worth the download if it were free.
I really wanted it to be good.

It's that bad that i actually had to do my first ever metacritic review!

Please save yourself the monthly $20 or the cost of game and flush it down the toilet.

So we got a game with:
    1. Shallow story, one dimensional villain, full, and I mean full of jokes that just make you cringe, the fort is a joke, with a suffocating awkward silence and a bunch of people eagerly wanting to tell their boring stories.
    2. Downgraded graphics with some really bad facial animations. If you dumb down the lighting a bit, I could swear this was Andromeda. I understand that demos (the one 2 years ago) are always prettier because they try to highlight the best parts of the game, but this is straight up false advertising.
    3. Early access and it already had micro-transactions in it...8 bucks for a skin that's not even top tier. this is not a free to play game, this is outright insulting.
    4. Loading screens for anywhere between 2 to 5 minutes to even crashes, horrific facial animation glitches, enemies disappearing, enemies not attacking you back or straight up teleporting and one-shoting you, rubber-banding, invisible walls...

We waited 6 years for the best storytelling company backed up by EA with their amazing graphics. People make fun and say that Bioware died with ME3... But in reality, it just got sick and it never recovered, and it's getting worse each year.

Metacritic should really do smth with this 10-s from accounts with single anthem review.
Looks really funny - 75% of positive user reviews are from accounts w/out any other reviews)
For my part - the issues spotted at the vip-demo remain actual, I'd recommend to purchase it at half price (or even at 1/4). Or wait till BioWare will fix all the stuff and bring any enjoyable content there.

I love that donkey players can play on easy while not feeling hindrance to team and just enjoy themselves and have a good time. Game looks nice. Gameplay is crisp and in debth builds are something that I appreciate. Playing a on i7 and 1080ti have no performance issues and loading times are very fast. I have to admit that I have the game on SSD. If you want faster loading times lower texture quality. I absolutely love that in 25h of play time I have 350k coins and one skin is about 61k. You don't have to spend a dime on MTS. I actually went and spent about 10£ and I have nothing to spend it on. One also have to love the fact that some skins are only for coins and coins can't be exchanged for premium currency.

It is definitely more fun and engaging than Destiny. And definitely better than The Division. So I really don't get where its the hate comes from.

A good Game for maybe 15 hours, after this you have seen everything , the end Content clear and max Gear. But the Gunplay and flying is Fun, the Graphic is nice, the Sound is cool and the World Design is great. This is why i give 5/10. Give Anthem 1 Year of Updates, and it will be a 7 or 8/10.

The game is completely raw and empty! It is awfully boring! Boring to explore the world, boring to do quests and boring to shoot! It is difficult to find at least something that isn't boring! This is not a tripleA project, not now and is not worth its$50! The maximum price of the game in this form can not exceed$20. Thank you for listening.

I can't get enough of this game. It has the usual hiccups for a major new AAA IP and the devs are quick to fix issues. Between the community and the game play there is no reason why anyone that has played this game should give it a negative rating.

I dont care who the publisher is i care about how i spent my time. This one looks really promising though it has flaws like sadly allmost every game (exept Apex Legends) perhaps has at start. Its download times are big - but the story for me is interesting and the gameplay it self is huge +. Looking more from the updates too but still really a game worth to play and try.

After 20 hours of game I can say it's a really bad game. getting kicked from servers, repeating missions because the game kicks you when you are about to finish it. Even the loot system is a failure, who the hell thought that the drop rate of the game is ok? I dont even care for drop, you get tons of weapons after one mission...

The gameplay is solid with outstanding animation skill thanks to the excellent people that work on the studio. if you don't like loot, or grind, this game is not for you. If you do, then this game will evolve just like warframe and destiny, it takes time, and for now it's just the first chapter of a big book that will become an amazing adventure! But let's not kid ourselves people, this game is nothing more than EA ticking boxes and putting a presence into a genre it doesn't yet have a foothold in. In the first few missions of the game all you do is go somewhere, kill enemies, find something, stand in a circle, kill enemies for a minute, repeat, then leave. You do this over and over again until after just a few hours you're bored out of your mind. I feel like I've done these exact things in a hundred other games already many, many times.

As far as the story is concerned, don't bother. It's cringeworthy and extremely generic. The characters are annoying and cliché. The voice acting is horrible to the point where I ended up just skipping the dialogue all together.

The only positive thing about this game I can think of are the graphics. They're beautiful; among the best graphics I've ever seen. But this also comes with a downside unfortunately. The performance on most rigs is utter **** and the game is very poorly optimized.

I can't express in words how disappointed I am. It's so sad to see EA destroy video games and their developers again and again because of their disgusting business practices. I hope one day people will finally stop supporting this disgrace of a company before it's too late.

But let's talk about Anthem...well this game is UNACCEPTABLE and the worst mark in Bioware history. Unfortunately what may well become a great game, is being hammered by people who hate the publisher (Electronic Arts), while ignoring the fact the game developer (BioWare) has launched an original, fun and high quality product. Since the demo, early access and worldwide launch, BioWare have been exceptionally responsive and have demonstrated that that they are both aware of emergent problems on a technical and gameplay level, and are also committed to solving them in the shortest possible time with an eye on a bright future. The road map for the first few months looks very encouraging and they have plans for over a decade of updates.

All AAA games have bugs and patches galore on release - without exception - and so with Anthem.

In summary, Anthem had a great foundation on which to build a strong and enduring story franchise - it is fun and interesting, with endearing characters and a fantastic visual look that is miles ahead of anything else I've played. I am enjoying it immensely.

My opinion on the game is if you have even one other person to play it with, it's a fun game to play. I've been playing it and so far about 15hrs in, still not bored, enjoying the different play styles of each Javelin, enjoying the missions DESPITE (read, I am acknowledging this) the missions been quite samey (Kill all the enemies, hold a spot for a timer to fill, and general grab item A and take it to B) it is still fun with friends (maybe the issue is people who are low balling the game score don't have friends?)

Graphically the game is nice, not much stuttering making the game play smooth (I have a 7700k and a 1080 w/ 16GB ram) the loading screen issue has resolved itself for me (I do have the game on a SSD though also).

Each Javelin is different enough to be fun to unlock, and the customisation makes them enjoyable to match how you want to play.

All in all I would probably give it 7/10 in it's current state, however due to the unfair down votes I have ramped my score up a little.

Yet another potential masterpiece that fell victim to EA's poor business practice of microtransactions and being online only. If this were a singleplayer experience which focused on story and not on multiplayer. it could have been part of the greatest games of this generation along with horizon zero, gow, rdr2, spiderman and others. Shame.

This game really sucked, just an absolute disappointment. I'm gonna try to get a refund.
Also most of the 10/10 reviews from users for this are from accounts that were created today and have only reviewed this game.
The whole "oh it's EA so that's why it's getting bad reviews" argument is a load of bullcrap, the game is broken, disappointing, and was a mistake to release in it's current state.

    Negative - .
For 2019... the game has a lot of loading screens. I just hate it. Many additional tasks of the similar type (this is not surprising for games tied with the grind). NPS in the city do not speak, but simply gesticulate. It spoils the whole atmosphere of the game. I would like to know the history of the world from the dialogues, rather than reading game notes. I believe that the function of moving the player to the mission zone is superfluous(this function should be done in the game menu, in case there is an error and the movement is really required).
In general, I experienced a positive gaming experience. Especially if you compare this game with competitors (but the price of the game is too high). Accurate score for the game 7 points. But I put 8 in the hope of further development of the game.

While customizing one of the 4 Javelins is entertaining for a little while, there's not enough there to justify a $60 purchase.

If you have Origin Premiere, go ahead, but wait for a patch and more content before diving in.

The characters are one-note, and after your first conversation with 90% of them, you’ll already know exactly who they are.

I only managed to play this game because of my loyalty to BioWare (and work being out for the week).

The flight element was fun, but even that had occasional glitches or mishaps.
Glitches I don’t normally count against games, especially when they are brand new. But in this case, there is so little to talk about for Anthem that the glitches come up quickly.

In order to be able to play this game I had to switch language to French. I can only play this game in freaking french or it won't even load in English. What the heck is wrong with you Bioware ?

This is pretty much how you will experience Anthem: 10 hours in front of your software trying to make it work or waiting for it to load for 3 hours of actual playing time.

The worst part is that I enjoy the gameplay which is pretty much copied on Mass Effect Andromeda that I loved.

But the bugs, the crashes, being forced to play the french version, the lack of any story and the fact that I spent 70 dollars to support the studio that abandonned us Andromeda fans to create this joke of a game gave me arguably the worst gaming experience of my life and I've been playing for 25 years now…

Still, even though I can't enjoy it on an Oled screen, the game is beautiful, smooth and very promising and could be a good game in a year or two when it should actually have been released.
Hence the 2 points I give it.
It could even be a great game if Bioware were to offer us an only-solo DLC of no more than 5 to 6 hours exploring the lore of Anthem...

So this is where Bioware is today? From Baldur's Gate 1, MDK2, Baldur's Gate II, Neverwinter Nights, Kotor, Jade Empire, Mass Effect to this.

The AI does not seem to care that it gets hit. The endgame is unrewarding and feels as if it is more as an annoyance than fun to play. On the higher difficulties, weapons become useless and only way to kill grandmaster enemies becomes combo skills, then running for cover, waiting for cooldown to go off, shields to recharge and then go for a combo skill again, rinse and repeat, this is literally the only thing you can do to complete grandmaster tiers, there is no style, no fun, nothing.

The game looks beautiful, it feels nice to play it, the mechanics could do way more, but Bioware is not even using all its potential, instead it just stays in the same circle, not delivering anything special for Anthem. Not to mention the gamebreaking bugs that just ruin the whole experience.

List Issue, they always said they will never have loot boxes in their game, ... They are adding Vanity Chests soon that get you one free key each day for completing daily and you can use that to open a chest at the end boss and 'share' your loot with the team, so yes, loot boxes are coming to Anthem, just with another name and the excuse that they do not give out duplicates, while in the end of the day they are still lootboxes.

As a long time fan of Dragon Age, Mass Effect, i feel used and offended, left in hunger for a good game that i could finally play again. Thinking they spend 6 years on this game, is even more depressing, what have they really done the last 6 years on this game? It seems more like it was just sitting there for years and then build last minute and over hyped.

Not a spoiler, but during the end credits it came to me how less names were mentioned inside the development compared to how many 'QA testers' they had, its as if the game was made by a team of 12 people in total, the content also feels like that. It is not worth your 60 dollar/euro. please save yourself the pain and wait for Bioware to or fix these issues or you spend it on another game that deserves it more than this game.

It's obvious that Anthem didn't have enough development time, but had some great potential. It's a real shame, that everything turned out this way. Even now, the game can bring out positive emotions. Hasty climbers have sudden falls. No matter how ironic this proverb may seem, it's incredibly relevant for Anthem.
