    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. By the time the games were released - I had already read the books three times in a language - much closer to the original than some fans. I reshooted the games twice each, and re-read the book ten more times. I can quote any passage or quotation from a book from memory. And I am normal about adaptations - I am a fan of the game of thrones and calmly relate to the last season, which also has huge problems with the script.
    But the witcher of netflix is ​​an absolute disrespect for the original source and its fans. The authors of the series and some fans do not understand him at all. You do not understand the meaning, mythology and generally this culture. All that you can do is to make a horror story with religious fanatics and the struggle between good and evil from the analogy of Roman empire - Nilfgaard, cut off the deepest meaning of the original short stories of the first two books and shove the inarticulate story about the formation of a strong woman. You made this fast food like Marvel and other garbage like the Black Panther. Well, do it further with your culture.     Сказать, что меня бомбит ничего не сказать. У меня в Минске во время просмотра данного сериала столбик термометра поднялся до +50. Во что превратили броню нильфов? Теперь понятно почему у Цири были кошмары. Про Йен, Трис, Фрингилью Виго и Дриад из Бруклина я вообще молчу. Да и в целом про этот "славянский контингент". This is not America, England or another country, these are Slavic areas, there were no black people there at that times!!!!!. Have you seen Triss in Netflix series? It's just pathetic how they did it..... The series is terrible, but it's good that we still have a AMAZING game which is Witcher 3, this is a REALNetflix = political correctness, there were ONLY white people in the book!!!!     Focus on Drama & really dumb behaviour. PoC look super out of place, dont know why they were casted into this roles other than being a low key racist and putting thoose as boost of his own twisted morale. Facts from the book straight up ignored. Funny how some fans with 1/100th of the budget were able to create something way more faithfull than nextflix with his millions.     They have rewritten the story, the characters and the world's lore to the point where it's got absolutely nothing to do with the books! THIS IS NOT WITCHER.
    Game of Thrones season 8 was the masterpiece of the decade compared to this horrendous garbage.

    I was gonna go more in depth, but honestly this trash isn’t worth it. It’s just bad. Maybe if you have some kind of WFBM fetish it’s for you, but if you’re looking for an entertaining fantasy romp or anything resembling the books or games, it’s not here.

    The Witcher is a tutorial how to **** up 100% successful product, which gave the background of the saga.
    Lauren Schmidt is total a disaster!
    They were ruined EVERY aspects of it:plot, character motivation, music, camera work, cast. If you don`t know the lore it's hard to understand that the **** is happening and why.     1. Как в этой маленькой луже боролся Геральд и здоровенная неведомая бабуйня, при этом абсолютно не баламутя воду и не пугая чертового оленя? Вот..как?
    2. Ох уж эти голые, но стыдливо прикрытые, сисечки в кадре. Ох уж эти пустые стерильные улицы и интерьеры без признаков жизни. Ох уж эти драматичные несуразные паузы и.......абсолютно каменные лица актеров. Даже, черт побери, в легенькой эротической сцене пугало безэмоциональность момента.
    3. Сама сюжетная линия скачет, нет ритма в монтаже, который не заставляет перематывать скучные нудные сцены.
    4. Целлофановые штаны Геральда...наглаженная одежда...чистенькие, вылизанные красивые не только основные актеры, но и массовка.
    5. Жуткая операторская работа - складывается ощущение, что всё снимается на широкоугольный объектив. Нет композиции и игры света. Как будто авторы сериала делали всё на скорую руку .
    Для меня первая серия превратилась в игру "найди десять нелепых вещей в кадре". Многое бросается в глаза. Сериал уровня конца 90х - начала 2000. Помните сериал "Удивительные странствия Геракла"? "Ведьмак" - это версия этого самого "Геракла", но с большим намеком на "серьезность", жуткой игрой актеров, и большим количеством спецэффектов.    … Expand

    Про гипертрофированную попытку везде засовывать чернокожих вызывая чувство вины за предков американцев, к которым славяне не имеют вообще никакого отношения, думаю говорить смысла нет, видеть их там просто смешно, особенно в доспехах.
    Перебитый в блендере сюжет, есть нечто иное как попытка выдать зрителю отвратительную и непригодную массу, которую он бы и палкой на случайной дороге не стал трогать. Видимо они считаю что подобное будет легче схавать. Может интеллектуально беззубый зритель это и проглотит, но время покажет как это пройдет для остальных.
    Нетфликс просто создал странного уродца, которого привели на блестящем от западных загонов поводке в мир тех людей, кто рос вместе с развитием всего что связанно с ведьмаком. Желая явить его как нечто совершенное и лучшее чем то что было, только мне кажется для убийства подобных уродцев, и существуют ведьмак. Сейчас когда я вижу этот симбиоз из наплевательского отношения к фанатам, сделанной на коленке графике мне хочется взять в руки серебряный меч и загнать этому сериалу от нетфликса по самую рукоять.    … Expand

    Those Ciri Lenses made me cry with tears of blood.
    Why do actors have stone faces in such serious scenes, such as at the time of the death of the queen ?!
    And my goodness, this propaganda of radical feminism is easily visible in the script and it is disgusting.
    So many bad men and so few bad women.
    The scenes of grabbing with a bare hand for the blade of a sword and the armor of nilfgaards are just ridiculous.
    Which by the way are invaders who conquer the whole world on foot apparently.

    Как ведьмак -1/10 как обычный сериал 3/10, но в названии Ведьмак. Плохо во всем, диалоги глупые, происходящее не логично, декорации не натуральны, костюмы и образы отвратные. Единственное где не налажали, это озвучка.

    This is an awesome show, for 1990s. If it aired in that time it could be a rival for a Xena: Warrior Princess. Dialogues and actors performance are probably on a same level.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. В общем, товарищи, это был пиздец. Как фанат книг и игр я просто в ужасе от того, что сняли Нетфликс. Карнавал толерантности и обратного рассизма с танцами пофигизма и жажды заработка на костях хорошей идеи по отличной вселенной. У сериала, несомненно, есть плюсы, но их с лёгкостью перекрывают минусы, которые сильно бросаются в глаза. Для рядового зрителя платформы, который по вечерам смотрит что-нибудь под пиво с чипсами, конечно, сойдёт, но фанаты вселенной получили смачную харчу в лицо.
    Рваная структура повествования приводит к тому, что уже к третьей серии ты перестаёшь понимать что, где и в каком промежутке времени происходит. Вот тебе показывают маленького Фольтеста на балу в Аретузе, а уже через 5 минут Геральт обсуждает с ним обстоятельства появления стрыги, причём в этот момент Фольтесту уже как-будто за 50, хотя по моим скромным подсчётам ему должно быть около 30.
    Переписывание историй это отдельная тема. Взять хотя бы банкет в Цинтре по случаю смотрин Паветты. Забудьте про Равикса из Черторога, забудьте про то, что Калантэ заранее наняла Геральта для того, чтобы он присутствовал на банкете. На самом деле, его туда пригласил Лютик и его участие в этом событии - чистая случайность. А сражение за Содденский холм? Пофиг на то, что чародеи действительно отбивались от армии Нильфгаарда НА ХОЛМЕ, А НЕ В КРЕПОСТИ. Пофиг на то, что ключевую точку в сражении поставили Трисс и Йеннифэр, которые случайно сотворили градобитие, уничтожившее большую часть армии противника. Напалм наше всё! Жги этих чёрных так, чтоб аж в Новиграде было огни видать! И подобный бред можно ещё долго собирать по сериалу.
    И вот на этом моменте я никак не могу не сравнить сериал с фанатским фильмом, который был снят любителями на деньги с краудфандинга, который имел душу, но проседал по качеству из-за нехватки средств, в котором Ламберту умудрились СДЕЛАТЬ КОШАЧЬИ ГЛАЗА, в то время как Нетфликс положили на эту мелочь хер, из-за чего момент разговора Геральта с Висенной и фраза "Посмотри на мои глаза..." выглядели для меня максимально абсурдно.
    В общем, всё очень плохо. Я надеюсь, что Нетфликс откажется от продолжения, ведь я не смогу спокойно смотреть, как эти стервятники с максимальной наглостью издеваются над фанатами и губят то, что могло бы получиться хорошо, если бы попало в правильные руки. Лично от меня 0 баллов. Всем, кто ещё не смотрел, рекомендую НЕ СПОНСИРОВАТЬ ЭТИХ УБЛЮДКОВ. Если всё-таки есть желание посмотреть и составить собственное мнение, сделайте это на стороннем сайте. Благо сериал появился в свободном доступе спустя примерно 3-4 часа после премьеры.    … Expand

    Я ждал 4 года,а в итоге это.Плюсы 1.Лютик ,который хоть как-то создает атмосферу и радует глаз. 2.Сцены сражения Ведьмака с людьми ,все сцены фехтования очень хороши ,но против людей !!.На этом плюсы закончились .Минусы. Плохой кастинг актеров от первого плана до массовки(кроме Лютика и Цири и иногда Геральда ).Плохая работа костюмеров.Плохие декорации и локации,можно было снять дешевлеЯ ждал 4 года,а в итоге это.Плюсы 1.Лютик ,который хоть как-то создает атмосферу и радует глаз. 2.Сцены сражения Ведьмака с людьми ,все сцены фехтования очень хороши ,но против людей !!.На этом плюсы закончились .Минусы. Плохой кастинг актеров от первого плана до массовки(кроме Лютика и Цири и иногда Геральда ).Плохая работа костюмеров.Плохие декорации и локации,можно было снять дешевле ,ближе и на родине славян и без личного самолета.Все пейзажи не из европы 13 века,а из новой зеландии про Хоббитов. Костюмы и спец эффекты связанные с чудовищами ,это либо плохой костюм ,либо отвратительный хромакей.Сценарий отвратителен, никому не нужные скачки во времени и просто иногда тупые развязки событий,сценарист при прочтении книги ,должен был понять что Сабковский так себе писатель и нужно было только вдохновляться его книгой ,а не делать сериальную копию.Сабковский стал известен только благодаря играм !!!,его интересуют только деньги !!!почитайте его интервью иму пофиг на сериал ,он даже не знает как должны выглядеть его персонажи .CD PROJECT RED сделали хорошую игру потому что взяли идею ведьмака,а не книгу .Даже в Польше не многие слышали о ведьмаке.Многие игроки даже не знали что игра сделана по книге .NETFLIX зачем вы дали Лоуренс такие права и столько денег ,на что ,зачем .Я посмотрел залпом 8 серий и остался очень разочарован этим сериалом .И даже тот факт что 8 серий вышло ,все равно не является концовкой первого сезона,они даже не пытались подарить микроконцовку ,они настолько были уверены в себе ,что позволили себе перенести финал первого сезона во второй .Этот сериал ,это не история о ведьмаке который убивает и охотиться на чудовищ,это не историю о ведьмаке который спит с каждой женщиной ,это история о подкаблучнике Геральде и его Предназначении .Один Лютик сделал больше чем весь каст актеров.И Геральд даже и от него избавляется .НЕТФЛИКС вы убили мечту ,которую я ждал с выхода 3 ведьмака.!!!!!!Этот сериал вышел, стало быть где-нибудь сидит же на белом свете и тот кто оформил подписку на нетфликс .… Expand

    If you haven't read the books it might be hard to follow. It was a lot of fun to watch these characters come to life and develop as the season went on. I thought it got choppy at times since the first two books are short stories and the show seemed to skip around a bit, but they did a good job in piecing it together.

    Это не ноль, но надо как-то попытаться нивелировать 10ки от копрофилов. Не будь это сериалом по вселенной ведьмака, его никто не заметил бы. Из плюсов музыка местами гуд, фехтование в сценах без магии и на этом все. Истории порезали,перекрутили и переврали. Было ощущение, что смотрю сериал "Великолепный век", но с магией. Бюджетность можно вытерпеть, но сценариста нужно менять. ИзЭто не ноль, но надо как-то попытаться нивелировать 10ки от копрофилов. Не будь это сериалом по вселенной ведьмака, его никто не заметил бы.     Атмосферы славянской нет. Каст отвратительный. За все время вы не увидите ни одной красивой женщины, а только уродин. Таймлайн очень кривой и запутанный. Мне как читавшему книги леко понять что происходит но вот знакомые мои которые с ведьмаком не знакомы дается сериал очень сложно. Столько лжи и надругательства я еще никогда не видел! Они все облили грязью, ВСЕ! В этом сериале нет ничего общего с книгами великого Пана и никогда не будет, из-за отсутствия фантазии нетфликс ничего не смог придумать своего, по этому они взяли всего по чуть чуть из книг и игр, смешали в котле, процедили оставив процентов 30 и остальное залили мочой из своих голов исказив все до неузнаваемости. До этого момента я был совершенно равнодушен к студии нетфлик, но теперь для меня это студия перестала существовать как таковая.Я неоднократно читал книги, это моя самая любимая вселенная на просторах фэнтези мира, Ведьмак первая из частей игры до сих пор вспоминается в самых теплых тонах, я люблю эту вселенную!Считаю то что сделала нетфликс это оскорбление и плевок каждому истинному поклоннику вселенной Ведьмака. Just a badly written fanfiction with some book stuff sprinkled here and there. It's not worth your time if you are a fan of the books and you want a loyal adaptation.

    Horrible parasitism on books. Some canonical stories are just for show. The Queen wishes everyone beer and terribly ridicule the ambassadors. Humor gave way to a huge amount of pathos. Yen Mary Sue, Ciri Imba, for which you do not worry... There are many logical inconsistencies even for the original work.

For the non-book readers that in of itself is great. But for the book readers, they know the quality is so damn high because the quality of the novels is so damn high and so the showrunner and writers room (including the book's authors) faithfully adapted it to preserve that high-quality storytelling. I have also watched Game of Thrones in earlier seasons where they were largely faithful adaptations of award-winning novels and how beloved were they? Intensely. Even Dune recently was made highly faithfully and the book readers have loved it.

    I haven't finished this season yet (almost there) but I'm scared seeing how many are saying the last two episodes are the worst of all. But so far, as someone who has read the books twice, loved them but isn't above adaptations taking a different spin (if it improves the story) I am really disappointed. Not by the visuals, the acting, or anything like that. It is entirely due to the showrunner and writer's decision to make changes needlessly that make the story WORSE, not better. Why do they feel the need to add their twists and their own touch? Likely fear or ego. They don't feel creatively excited about translating a story from one medium to another they want to make it "their own." The hubris of that when the source material is award-winning and they're just TV writers is incredible.

    It sucks because I could overlook some shakey acting here and there or a bad costume or average CGI, but when the story is what I have a problem with and it's a story that requires certain things in order to result in other things down the line, it makes watching the show so tough. I end up just feeling bad for Henry who considering what he's said in multiple interviews, just wishes the show was a faithful adaptation from the novels to the screen like The Expanse has been.    … Expand

    It takes a while for viewers to learn how these characters are connected, via an exasperating Westworld-esque narrative knot that takes much of the season to unfurl. ... The Witcher heightens our confusion by fumbling details that would have helped it set a cohesive tone. Dialogue vacillates, from line to line, between theatrical fantasy-speak and modern colloquialisms (“Dragons are, in fact, a thing!”).
