This could be okay if they named it something else. But that's not lord of the rings. Writing, dialogs, music, action scenes are just bad, main cast is bad. Visuals are ok.

I gave this show 3 and a half episode before I couldn't stomach anymore. The lead characters are horribly one-sided, uncharasmatic and the entire story is bereft of logic, respect of timelines, and every time the story needs it, some convenient story prop falls down from the sky (Sauron made a map and note informing they will make a land of evil? really? the Dark Lord wrote down his evil plans while laughing evilly and caressing his dark mustache? really?). I could keep on going about the cringe dialogue, the poor casting choices, the terrible pacing, and the general total lack of quality. But the show speaks for itself. Atrocious. This should be buried and forgotten.… Expand

This mockery of a series could only be a creation by committee, helped by Bezos inputs and checkmarks on a diversity quota checkboard. Are you searching for a soul here? You'll get none, but you'll get product. And boy, this product sucks.
From Gandalf Falling fron the skies on a capsule and lifting rocks with his KI, Dragonball Z's style, to Elfs that despite seeing in the darkness using lamps to light the way. The sheeer amount of nonsense is enough to make you laugh for one week. Best thing thogh, they release two episodes of this crap. Expect to be laughing until the second half of the month.
This is the best thing ever done. 10/10. Unless you're looking for a good show. Then, go see something else in another time, in another dimension. 2022 has nothing for you yet.… Expand

Terrible dialogue, slow, boring and hookless. It doesn't follow the lore. Actual characters are mischaracterized. The acting is mediocre to bad. This is just a terrible show overall.

In addition, there's no Tolkien-fantasy in it - it is maybe loosely based on Silmarilion but that's all. Male characters are SUPERBLY WEAK and almost childish like, obviously females are SUPERBLY PERFECT - and on each step limited by males who supposedly rule the world (WHICH THEY DON'T, since all main characters are female). The male Elf character has character based on a... I don't know... stone? brick? Something without life (don't know the name, and I'm not going to check it since If I don't know it yet, it means that authors didn't do theirs job correct to properly introduce them to us). I am DEEPLY disappointed and terrified of whole tv shows industry right now. Instead of entertainment you get some brainwashing crap... DO NOT WATCH IT!… Expand

Just a big ol dumpster fire. Neither myself or my family will be watching this mess. It's horrible plot, bad cgi, and bad acting is disappointing enough but they absolutely butchered everything Tolkien stood for.

As such if you enjoy generic aimless fantasy that sets new precedent in boring, this is for you. It almost feels like the goal of this show was to dumb down every aspect of it to achieve meandering meaningless unenlightened humdrumness.

The only reason IMDB give this a 6.8 rating (at the time of typing) is that they are pnwed by Amazon. The CGI work is ok but certainly not excellent.

The show feels cheap and unimaginative. It lacks direction and any meaningful character development. Action scenes are very quick and tactically make little sense. The elves feel like humans with pointy ears. Ultimately the story embraces everything Tolkien isn't.Succinctly Put, Boring… Expand
