In reality, Frontline Commando 2 isn't quite the game the first one is, and isn't even half the game D-Day is.

I've no reason to doubt this game will be improved with updates, but as it stands right now, it's going to need a fair bit of work to fully realize the fantastic potential laying tantalizingly just out of reach.

It’s still a fun game and players that put forth the effort can get enjoyment out of the additions. However, it just didn’t fully do it for me like the original did.

Shinjuku Dungeon isn't a particularly deep game, and it isn't mechanically exciting. Instead, it is simply an interesting game, a bizarre fusion of reality and fantasy, filtered through the perspective of a developer who clearly holds 8-bit adventure and RPG games very near and dear to his heart.

You won’t want to miss out on Glorkian Warrior: Trials of Glork, especially if you’re a huge fan of arcade shooters with hilariously great jokes and some marvellous comic visuals. It's got a few flaws, but the good vastly outweighs the bad.

It's not going to do much for those who are weary of the genre, but fans should be fairly pleased with this outing.

What makes Wave Wave special is its ability to remain mechanically simply yet ultimately engaging through challenging the player’s physical abilities to react and respond. It’s a game which philosophies rest on player skill, and test that skill to the point of breaking you or making you better.

Do you hunger for something more interesting than the same old packed-lunch jump and collect game? If so, then you'll want to pass on Bloo Kid 2. Looking for a familiar taste to tide you over until something more exotic comes along? Then Bloo's your boy.

While it may be too difficult for some, I enjoyed my time with Dual Survivor, as multitask-centric games don't come around too often -- just note that those of you who are willing to put in the time will definitely appreciate it a little more. I wish it had a bit more of a personality for sure, but the gameplay makes up for it and it's even more fun with a friend.

A bit like watching a Monty Python marathon where you remember the fish slapping, but not all the weird animations.

Make no bones about it, the game is squarely hanging its hat on its chief gimmick. Still, that gimmick is so interesting and thoughtfully implemented that even with everything else riding the line of mediocrity, Adventure Land is well worth your time to check out.

Considering the fact that the online arena space on mobile devices is limited, Fright Fight is a noble inaugural effort for the studio, and delivers a decent fighting game with an agreeable price of entry. I just wish a little more polish went into it, there were more fighters to choose from, and it was a premium title with everything included.

Once you've finished Devious Dungeon, it's well and truly over with, but for the price of admission, it's kind of hard to gripe much.

The folks at Wicky Ware have done just that, with Mines of Mars being a highly enjoyable melding of exploration and combat wrapped around a side-scrolling mining adventure.

It also goes without saying that people who dug the style of Ittle Dew should give this a look, even if it's a very different type of game. Its attention to recreating the feeling around playing card games with your friends is a breath of fresh air for a genre that generally cuts right to the chase, and I think that's something worth paying attention to and enjoying.

Beyond Space is a fun shooter that will supply a couple of hours of shallow enjoyment. The linear story, lack of customization and multiplayer certainly don’t knock the current space shooter king of the throne. Still Beyond Space has the controls, and looks that make it worth considering if you are looking to blast lasers into enemies in space.

Primal Flame could start a whole new genre if it wanted. A 'la Flappy Bird and it's 101 clones, I wouldn't be surprised if this ushered in a wave of ‘Strike-a-match-and-avoid-evil-falling-leaves’ games because it completely sucked me in. Like the proverbial moth to the flame, you could say.

Midnight Bite is a nourishing snack for those who are looking for something entertaining, yet wholly challenging. For those who can put up with slightly burdensome controls, if you like vampires, and you’re a fan of stealth action games, this will most definitely satisfy your hunger.

I could go on about how Avadon 2 is another fine example of classic RPG gameplay on the iPad but the simple fact is if you’ve enjoyed any other Spiderweb Software games, you really need to check out this sequel. It’s probably my favorite offering from the developers and a great example of not only an awesome old-school RPG but also a pretty good port.

A flawed experience, but the chances Oda takes make the ride invigorating. I would love to see what else he can do, and I hope he continues making many more games before... the inevitable. Sorry, this game is making me morbid.

Epic Ninja Game is a rough game in a lot of ways, from the odd way wall-jumping works to the stiff animations and strange difficulty spikes, but it is a considerably more fun game than I was expecting at first glance.

It's a true testament to my enjoyment of the game that I kept at it, grinding my way through old battles time after time and coming up with new strategies along the way. The retro-centric charming visuals certainly don't hurt matters either if you're a fan of the style.
