Despite the technical issues in the open world, No More Heroes 3 is not just the best Grasshopper Manufacture game, but one of the best and most fun games you can play on Nintendo Switch right now with its brilliant writing, superlative boss fights, and sublime soundtrack.- The Mako Reactor

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection feels like a hybrid between a remixed game and a new entry with how it is inspired by certain older game levels. It is a ruthless game that will test your skills even on lower difficulties with the trial and error required. While it might not be as accessible as Mega Man 11 was for newer fans, Capcom definitely did a great job with making a new Ghosts ‘n Goblins game that tried to be true to its name while still allowing for some accessibility options for those who want a less brutal experience.- The Mako Reactor

Raiden IV x Mikado Remix on PS5 and Xbox Series X is worth it for its brilliant new music option, multiple game modes, and smooth gameplay. The only downside is there not being much value here for those who already own a previous version of Raiden IV on another platform.- The Mako Reactor

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles joins Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot as another fantastic anime game on Nintendo Switch when it comes to visuals and port quality. This new version arrives packed with all post-launch updates from existing versions right from the start, and it is an easy recommendation for fans of Demon Slayer and anyone who held off on the getting the game to play it on the go on Nintendo Switch.- The Mako Reactor

Pac-Man World Re-Pac on PC is a great way to experience this classic whether you played it back in the day, or are completely new to the world of Pac-Man. It is on the shorter side though with a few annoying sections of levels that might put some off. If you have a Steam Deck, Pac-Man World Re-Pac runs without any issues offering great visuals and smooth performance throughout.- The Mako Reactor

Sisters Vs Sisters on PC is improved over the PS5 version even on Steam Deck despite a bare-bones port. While it isn't a massive leap for the franchise, it is one of the better entries despite its issues.- The Mako Reactor

Rune Factory 5 wasn't the best experience on Switch thanks to its technical and structural issues. On Steam Deck, the former has been addressed, but it still isn't as good as Rune Factory 4 Special. If you skipped the Switch version thanks to the performance issues, it plays much better and loads drastically faster on Steam Deck. Hopefully the next entry in the series can build on the base from Rune Factory 5 to try and reach the highs of 4.- The Mako Reactor

Soul Hackers 2 is a traditional Atlus JRPG with a super-stylish coat of paint and some welcome quality of life improvements. It has catchy music, great characters, an amazing protagonist, and a fun core loop. If you enjoyed Tokyo Mirage Sessions' gameplay, this is an essential JRPG and one of the best this year.- The Mako Reactor

Prinny Presents NIS Classics Volume 2: Makai Kingdom: Reclaimed and Rebound / ZHP: Unlosing Ranger vs. Darkdeath Evilman brings two of NIS' more unique experiences to Nintendo's hybrid console. While the first volume launched in a very rough state, both Makai Kingdom and ZHP have been mostly a joy to experience on Switch. It is disappointing that there are no quality of life features or boosts added to make this more accessible to newcomers though.- The Mako Reactor

Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher is a game I didn't think expect to release outside Japan. It is the best modern platform entry point into the world of Monster Rancher, and I've had a blast playing it over the last few weeks. While it does suffer from the same issues that Monster Rancher 2 has, Ultra Kaiju Monster Rancher is well worth checking out on Nintendo Switch.- The Mako Reactor

Sonic Origins on Nintendo Switch should've been an easy collection to recommend to anyone looking to play classic Sonic games in the best possible way, but it is held back by some optimization issues on Nintendo Switch and a lack of polish in some areas. It has a lot of care put into the overall package with some lovely extras, but it definitely needed a bit more time. Hopefully it gets a few patches to bring it to the state it deserves to be in for a potential physical release.- The Mako Reactor

While Death end re;Quest itself is worth experiencing and the visual novel segments feel great on Nintendo Switch, the conversion leaves a lot to be desired with its visual and performance downgrades and is only really worth it if you have no other platform to play one of Compile Heart's most interesting games on.- The Mako Reactor

Despite the visual cutbacks and online experience right now, DNF Duel on Nintendo Switch is a competent fighting game. This version isn't close to the best way to experience the game, but those who only play on Nintendo Switch could do a lot worse in the genre than DNF Duel.- The Mako Reactor

SD Gundam Battle Alliance has been an absolute joy to play on both Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck over the last week with friends. I was a bit concerned about the Switch port initially, but it is great as a pick up and play game with better technical performance than I expected. It does needs some better balancing for solo play though, and the repetitive nature might turn put some off.- The Mako Reactor

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water on Nintendo Switch is a great-looking conversion of an excellent horror adventure game that only falters on the performance side of things. It remains one of the better horror experiences on the system and a great game to play this Halloween.- The Mako Reactor

Silent Hope from Marvelous feels like a long-lost 3DS game resurrected for modern platforms in the best way possible. The aesthetic, music, charm, and core gameplay loop come together nicely, but it will not be for everyone. I've enjoyed my time with it despite the few flaws on Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch.- The Mako Reactor

Dragon Quest Treasures feels like a long-lost 3DS gem brought to Nintendo Switch. It has all the charm from an older Dragon Quest game, and is one of the better Switch exclusive of 2022. While the core gameplay loop might not be for everyone, I enjoyed it a lot. I just wish the technical aspects of the game were a bit better.- The Mako Reactor

Wonder Boy Anniversary Collection is an excellent package bringing multiple versions of six games, nice extras, improvements, and more together to be the most complete collection possible right now. While it is unfortunate for owners of the previous collection, newcomers will find a lot to love here, and Wonder Boy Anniversary Collection is one of the better retro collections available on Nintendo Switch today.- The Mako Reactor

The Legend of Runersia is a superb strategy game that scales well on PC. After its first patch, almost all my issues with the port were resolved, and it feels great to play even on Steam Deck. Having enjoyed it recently on Switch and previously on PS4, I'm glad to see Brigandine: The Legend of Runersia get even more features in its Steam release making it the best version of the game. Hopefully the few other PC-specific issues can be resolved in future updates.- The Mako Reactor

Rune Factory 3 Special does a great job at bringing a DS classic to modern platforms, and it also happens to be a fantastic experience on both Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch. It isn't as good as Rune Factory 4 Special, but few things are, and this is worth your time if you want to sample one of Marvelous' best series.- The Mako Reactor

R-Type Final 3 Evolved is the best version of Granzella's newest release, but it doesn't have enough improvements and new content in its current state to justify a full-priced purchase for existing owners. Newcomers should get this, but I wish it included more DLC and was the complete and definitive version rather than an enhanced take with some exclusive content and one set of DLC.- The Mako Reactor
