While Disgaea 1,4, and 5 are excellent on Switch and my favorite versions of the games, Disgaea 6 has too many technical issues on Nintendo's hybrid system to be an easy recommendation. Disgaea 6 Complete for PS5 still carries over some of the core game issues from the base release on Switch last year, but it is a massively better experience thanks to huge improvements in resolution, frame rate, and overall performance. The addition of all DLC with some bonuses right from the start definitely helps make this the version of Disgaea 6 I recommend for newcomers.- The Mako Reactor

Exoprimal is a very weird game that I enjoyed playing a lot by the end of it. Some multiplayer and early progression issues hold back an otherwise super fun experience that has me coming back for more daily even after 50 hours across platforms. It has the potential to be even better with some tweaking.- The Mako Reactor

Sonic Colors Ultimate brings a very good game featuring an amazing soundtrack to modern systems with visual enhancements, but it is let down by some glitches and an overall lack of polish in its current state on Nintendo Switch.- The Mako Reactor

While The DioField Chronicle has some technical issues on Nintendo Switch, it is one of Square Enix's most interesting games in years, and one I recommend to anyone looking for a great strategy RPG. The diorama aesthetic is gorgeous and I love what the team did with the narrative and soundtrack here. Hopefully we get a sequel or story DLC in the future.- The Mako Reactor

While Neptunia ReVerse is a great package for newcomers to get into Neptunia games, veterans should wait for a sale before jumping into Compile Heart's first PS5 release.- The Mako Reactor

Wonder Boy Collection is a good collection of four classics, but it lacks any meaningful extras and the many games included in the more expensive physical-only (as of now) Wonder Boy Anniversary Collection. The games included are well worth playing if you don't already own them in some form through other releases though.- The Mako Reactor

If you played and enjoyed the original Death end re;Quest on Nintendo Switch despite the port's issues, Death end re;Quest 2 is worth getting at the asking price thanks to the inclusion of all free and paid DLC from other versions. Sadly, this port suffers from many performance issues that result in the combat and gameplay feeling sluggish compared to other platforms making it much harder to recommend.- The Mako Reactor

Maglam Lord had a lot of potential with its great character designs, music, and premise, but it is held back by lackluster combat and some poor design decisions.- The Mako Reactor

Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 – The Official Video Game is an accessible and fun party game worth getting to play with friends and family, but it is let down by some mediocre sporting events.- The Mako Reactor

As a huge fan of the Utawarerumono series, Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten should've been a slam dunk, but it is lacking in some key ways right now on PS5. The story, characters, and music make it worth your time, but the lack of polish in visuals and gameplay hold it back.- The Mako Reactor

River City Saga: Three Kingdoms should've been a great beat 'em up that took the Downtown Special: Kunio-kun's Historical Period Drama concept to a Romance of the Three Kingdoms setting, but the lack of gameplay polish holds it back on Nintendo Switch. Hopefully Arc System Works revisits this in the future for another entry.- The Mako Reactor

Crystar is an action RPG with a compelling story, great voice acting, and excellent music. It is let down by mediocre combat and level design. On Nintendo Switch it includes all the DLC right from the get go at a lower asking price than other versions, but it has seen some noticeable visual and performance cutbacks compared to the PS4 version.- The Mako Reactor

Pac-Man World Re-Pac should've been an easy recommendation on Switch, but the inconsistent frame pacing in both performance modes holds it back. I hope future updates can address this, because this is perfect for playing on the go.- The Mako Reactor

A nice addition to the base game for everyone who enjoyed this generation of Pokemon so far with a new location, some quality of life features, and its new content. It is however let down by a plethora of technical issues still plaguing the experience.- The Mako Reactor

Biomotor Unitron is one of the best releases in Code Mystics and SNK's Neo Geo Pocket Color Selection lineup because it introduced me to a fun RPG that I hadn't even heard of before. The game itself has a few issues holding it back, but Code Mystics has done a fantastic job as usual, and can't wait to see what game arrives next following Biomotor Unitron and Big Bang Pro Wrestling.- The Mako Reactor

If you don't care about portability or motion controls, No More Heroes is worth getting on PC despite the port issues. Everyone needs to experience the awesome No More Heroes, but it deserves better than this release that still hasn't completely fixed even months after launch.- The Mako Reactor

I’ve been playing Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star every few days since launch, and the final game sadly lacks the content and variety in its current state to justify the asking price. It has a lot of potential, but needs a content update and an option to play with Japanese voices to be an easy recommendation even for fans of prior Fitness Boxing games.- The Mako Reactor

Neptunia X Senran Kagura: Ninja Wars on NIntendo Switch is a competent port of a game that itself feels like a missed opportunity. If you skipped the PS4 version to play on the go, this is one of the better Compile Heart ports on Nintendo Switch. I just wish the game itself did more justice to the Senran Kagura franchise.- The Mako Reactor

Egglia Rebirth gets a lot right despite its issues. With many smaller scale RPGs trying and failing to capture people's attention on Nintendo Switch by being more of the same, I'm glad Egglia Rebirth tried something different with its structure. The gameplay improvements over the mobile version and new content definitely help make this an easier recommendation.- The Mako Reactor

Neo Geo Pocket Color Selection Vol 2 is worth getting if you enjoyed the first collection and want more. It has deeper cuts and includes three untranslated games, but is still a good value proposition with some quality titles and the extras included here. It is disappointing that the games unavailable in English weren't localized for this collection though.- The Mako Reactor

Despite the value proposition with all DLC included at a budget price, Dragon Star Varnir on Nintendo Switch has far too many technical issues in its current state to be an easy recommendation for Compile Heart fans and is best played on another platform.- The Mako Reactor

I've not played enough of Monochrome Mobius on PC for a full scored review, but I can say that this port is a lot better than the PS5 version going by the Japanese console demo I played. I'm looking forward to dig into the PC version more and see if it lives up to my high expectations when it comes to the narrative after how much I adore the Utawarerumono trilogy. Right now, I'm enjoying my time with Monochrome Mobius Steam Deck quite a bit.- The Mako Reactor

There's a lot to love about Forspoken despite its technical issues. It makes up for that with great traversal, a fantastic DualSense implementation, and solid storytelling. It might not be for everyone, but I enjoyed my time in Athia and will be checking out the story DLC when it launches in the future.- The Mako Reactor

Despite a few annoyances, Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water is a fantastic horror adventure that is releasing at the perfect time on consoles and PC. If you've been looking for a new game to play over Halloween, Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water is absolutely worth getting on PS5.- The Mako Reactor

Despite its flaws, The DioField Chronicle is one of Square Enix's best and most interesting games of the year. It runs and looks great on PC, and even seamlessly syncs your progress to Steam Deck thanks to the recent addition of Steam Cloud support. The demo was promising, and I'm glad that The DioField Chronicle has delivered in almost every way on PC and Steam Deck.- The Mako Reactor

Monark is one of FuRyu's more disappointing releases with its repetitive gameplay that is carried by the music and character designs. It doesn't help that the Nintendo Switch version feels very rough right now even with the day one patch installed. Hopefully FuRyu can build on this for a more polished RPG in the future that doesn't feel so disjointed.- The Mako Reactor
