    PAC-MAN WORLD Re-PAC may not be one of the greatest games of all time being brought back for a new generation to discover, but it’s still a decent enough 3D platformer that lots of people – myself included – are going to enjoy.

    It’s not blowing it out of proportion to say that Pac-Man is one of the most significant characters in video game history. He’s so widely known and loved; that alone may be enough for some to pick up his latest release. Others with a fondness for the fledgling days of 3D platformers will find PAC-MAN WORLD Re-PAC is a good release that grows on you, even with its dated aspects. The pros definitely outweigh the cons, and $29.99 is a fair launch price for a physical game.

    I definitely feel that it is a game that can be fun for those who have never tried anything related to PAC-MAN, although it could also be enjoyed by fans who know beforehand that they will not find anything new. The most notable problem is the absence of its two sequels.

    Pac-Man World Re-Pac should've been an easy recommendation on Switch, but the inconsistent frame pacing in both performance modes holds it back. I hope future updates can address this, because this is perfect for playing on the go.

    Pac-Man World Re-Pac is a remake of the 1999 original and it does a good job at bringing the Pac-Man platformer to our day and age, with its remarkable visual renovation and significant improvements to the controls and gameplay mechanics. Nonetheless this is a game that fans of more modern platformers will find rather limited, given how its structure mostly reflects the time of its original release with worlds that are completely separated from each other and a camera that is far from dynamic.

    Pac-Man World Re-Pac is a decent little platformer albeit a rather straightforward one. Its combination of old-school Pac-Man grid-based gameplay and linear but varied worlds are entertaining enough to get you through its 10 or so hour adventure, but the rather plain level design and occasionally clunky movement also reveal a game limited by its original PlayStation roots.

    While acting as a steady starting point for kids who can’t tell their Pac-Men from their Space Invaders, Pac-Man World Re-Pac is a remaster that struggles to make itself feel necessary, with no improvements outside of graphics and mechanics to enhance the original Pac-Man World’s formula. There’s some fun to be had, but perhaps not enough to warrant a remaster when including a port of the PS1 title in a collection might have made more sense.

    Really fun game and switch handles it great ofc! price tag is also really nice and isn't overpriced at all!

    The game is really fun and exciting.
    A really good remake of an classic.

I have no familiarity with the original Pac-Man World, but I really enjoyed this title. It certainly feels dated, but that wasn't much of a hindrance as the core gameplay holds up well. The title has a lot of charm, and I really enjoyed playing through the different levels and finding collectibles. Though the game is simplistic in ways and didn't really offer many surprises, I still thoroughly enjoyed it and think it's worth checking out.… Expand

Some older platformers feel as though they're attempting to cash in on the success of their more successful brethren, but I can tell this game was made with a lot of thought, and plenty of heart and soul. Unlike most older 3D platformers that were products of their era, this game delivered a stand out experience that made it really stand on its own. It's far from perfect, plenty of levels made me rage at times, and I was often reminded why I don't usually play older games in the genre due to the difficulty spikes. Still this charming adventure always kept me coming back for more and led to a fantastic conclusion I was delighted by. Pac-Man World Re-Pac was a charming little journey to experience, and if you need a casual game to play on the go, you could do way worse than a trip to Ghost Island.… Expand
