Godfall is not a title without its charms. The combat system is solid and satisfying, and technically, the game is great proof of PlayStation 5’s potential. But cramming levels full of particles effects and shining lights does not necessarily make for good aesthetic design, and Godfall also suffers from a weak story and repetitive endgame.- The Games Machine

Lots of games, but not all stars among Pac-Man's birthday guests. The essential emulation gives a no-frills experience to the old glories in a context tailor-made for chasing the online leaderboards, but the absolute lack of extras is a great disappointment.- The Games Machine

Cobra Kai is an entertaining beat ‘em up, colorful and faithful to the original, and also incredibly rewarding in co-op. It does, however, suffer from some annoying technical issues.- The Games Machine

When it comes to porting triple A titles to the Switch, Panic Button is an experienced and capable developer, and Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch is an impressive technical feat. This time, however, the challenge might have been too great, and the compromises required of the player too excessive.- The Games Machine

Kirby Robobot relies on creativity and a "think out of the box" philosophy, adorned with jolly and light-hearted aesthetics. Unfortunately, it's almost too easy to complete the game, especially if you played your fair share of platformers. It's a game that will probably appeal the younger (and less experienced) player.- The Games Machine

Pac-Man World 2 Re-Pac is a fun and light-hearted action platformer full of little surprises and mini-challenges that will delight fans of Namco's popular mascot. The excessive ease and speed with which the main adventure concludes are its most notable flaws, which could deter players looking for a real challenge.- The Games Machine

White Shadows does nothing to hide his sources of inspiration: Limbo and Inside. A dark and obscure location is the right place to set a dystopian, anthropomorphic future story which can be read as a hermetic social metaphor. Though fascinating, White Shadows does too little to explain to the players where they are or what exactly it is that they’re doing, and its very simple mechanics don’t help. At the same time though, you often feel like you just can’t leave, like when watching a Lynch movie.- The Games Machine

A fluid and dynamic action-platformer with great potential, flawed by a too rigid structure, limited longevity and some annoying bugs that spoil the experience. A metroidvania with these dynamics could give an eventual sequel the breathing room this project needed.- The Games Machine

Atelier Sophie represents a new identity for the series. A self-pilot episode, that tries to capture the interest of a new fanbase. Good, but we would have preferred a more challenging game.- The Games Machine

An action cop game that winks at Miami Vice, Hill Street and other historical detective series from the 80s. The game structure is interesting, the chases intense and challenging and the tasks to be performed quite varied, but in the long run repetitiveness makes itself felt and a few technical glitches break the magic. Technically we are close to average, but a few corrections are needed to put right the less than perfect fluidity and a few too many glitches.- The Games Machine

Secret World Legends simplifies and makes more accessible one of the most intriguing and captivating online worlds ever created. Unfortunately, graphics feel pretty old (which they are), and Funcom never managed to find a good balance between a story-driven experience and the MMO gameplay dynamics. Anyway, a good online action RPG that can be enjoyed with some friends.- The Games Machine

A.O.T.: Wings of Freedom raises the bar for the musou genre developed by Omega Force and Koei Tecmo. The game is interesting, albeit with some flaws, and has a unique identity that can be appreciated even if you're not a fan of the anime.- The Games Machine

Marvel vs Capcom Infinite is all but infinite, with a skimpy roster and pretty dull aesthetics. Unless you love playing online, you'll miss a true captivating and lasting single player mode. It's not a bad game in itself, but at the same time we can't shake the feeling that it's a missed opportunity to create something really unique.- The Games Machine

This new DLC for the post-apocalyptic RPG from Bethesda had a lot of potential, more than it actually proved to have. It's not bad, it's simply a work well done, without anything that truly shines or makes it better than the original game.- The Games Machine

Monster Truck Championship finally does justice to the crazy world of monster trucks with a good game, genuine and fun, absolutely standard in its structure but made unique by a control system and physic engine apt for handling steel behemoths, maybe not always perfect but tasty for racing fans looking for different sensations. The freestyle mode is certainly the best part of Teyon's game, with a good number of arenas and a handful of tricks to be chained and controlled with skill. The rest should be played without too many expectations. Technically lackluster, but seeing those wheels spinning in the mud is spectacular.- The Games Machine

Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon improves over the predecessor in every possible way, from the more refined gameplay to a more inspired story and art direction. There are some technical issues, and the game is not available in the Italian language. Other than that, a pretty good RPG-musou.- The Games Machine

Sea of Thieves is a game with great potential, but it's undermined by a lack of variety and depth. Meditative alone, fascinating and epic in multiplayer, the navigation experience provided by Rare is truly unique and brilliant. On the other hand, the extreme freedom given to the player cannot be fulfilled because of clumsy boots on the ground mechanics and a quest structure that is far too repetitive.- The Games Machine

When I look at Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles I keep seeing the usual formula that Cyberconnect2 has been using for years of anime tie-in fighters. It’s still an enjoyable and fun fighting game, if you care enough to get into its more obscure mechanics, but it could have been much better with more emphasis on a proper training mode and a more fleshed out campaign. Nonetheless, it’s also one of the prettiest game ever developed by the software house that created .Hack and a proper celebration of the bombastic action sequences of the original animated series produced by world-known animation studio Ufotable.- The Games Machine

Void Terrarium 2 with a well-designed dungeon crawler section could have been a great game. Unfortunately, the roguelike is far too simple and the new features added to the first chapter are really few, and mostly concentrated in crafting, making the gap with the rest of the game even clearer: you will really have to love Toriko like a daughter in order not to give too much weight to the shortcomings of everything that is not found inside the Terrarium.- The Games Machine

Compared to the first release of The Elder Scrolls Online, Morrowind is far more balanced, the overall quality has improved and it has the right amount of nostalgia. Probably not the best MMO around, but if you ever wanted to give it a try, now is the right moment.- The Games Machine

For the time being, No Man's Sky on PC runs slightly better than the console versions, the control system doesn't work very well with the mouse + keyboard combo, and that's about the only differences worthy of being mentioned. All the potential of the game and the disappointment are still there.- The Games Machine

There's no denying that Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a fighting game with a lot of content, charismatic characters, and tons of special moves and skills. The main problem here is that it's basically a sloppy porting of the original PS Vita version, sealed and delivered as quickly as possible, to benefit from the recent announcement of Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite.- The Games Machine
