There are issues to be ironed out, the Auto Combo being a huge one right out of the gate, but none of the issues I have with the game can’t be fixed with patches or updates in the future. The core of Marvel vs Capcom Infinite shines like the Infinity Stones it features, and there are Infinite possibilities of where the game can go from here. It’s Mahvel baby, and it’s back in a big way.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite introduces some twists to the formula that will likely be divisive for the hardcore fans of the series. However, a compelling story mode and the balanced introduction of the Infinity Stones will satisfy new and old players alike.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite offers one of best iterations of the series's gameplay, but its weak presentation and lacking roster prevent it from achieving excellence.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is sterile on the surface, but a functional as hell fighter. I'm fine with that. Are you?

It’s always nice to see Marvel and Capcom working together on a fighting game and Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is still a great fighting game with neat ideas. Infinity Stones are a breath of fresh air, and going back to a less chaotic 2v2 format makes it more playable at a lower level, but ultimately some of the silliness and wonder has been sucked out of its DNA. For the hardcore audience, it’ll still play wonderfully and I had fun, but casual players will find little to sing and dance about.

I’m no expert at fighting games. I like them, but I’m terrible at them, and tend to judge them on how well they do when both players are blindfolded. Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite passes that test well, making for a great party game. Most of my issues with the roster comes down to personal preference, but it’s safe to say you shouldn’t pick it up for the story mode alone.

For the first time since Capcom dared to show Cyclops and Ryu shaking hands in X-Men vs. Street Fighter, the Marvel vs. Capcom series offers up a fight that nobody really needs to see.

The game play is fresh and interesting. The graphics look tip top. Infinity stones are dynamic additions. Glad Capcom listened to the fans-significant improvements to Chun Li's face. She no longer looks like Chuckie's bride. This is the kind of game that you can just kick back and relax and play with your friends for hours. The game is appropriate for all levels from a causal player to a pro player. Expand

However, after playing it for a few hours, I came out pleasantly surprised. Captain Marvel kicked ass! For those of you weenies crying about no x-men, get over it! There is more to this franchise than the x-men. For crying out loud there are 30 dynamic characters to choose from. And who knows, maybe with time, x men will join the roster. Until then, this is a fun game filled with lots of surprises. Expand

Unfortunatle the game misses the mark on every other aspect... it seems that Capcom forgot what people expects from a Marvel vs Capcom game. A roster filled with most reused characters from UMVC3, less characters than base MVC3, and bad visuals (specially if compared with the previous game, once again). Just a big disapointment... Expand

If compared with previous MVC games, this one is the worst. I used to play and love mvc 1 as a kid, with that cool music, the cool animations and no movies in between. MVC 1 puts to shame MVCI. The series lost almost all japanese influence, and now it's way too american themed. Weak roster, microtransactions, no improvement whatsoever, and a pathetic voice acting and lack of great music makes this game one of the worst crossovers ever made.

The mechanics work and aren't awful but that is what the standard fighting game should do. The presentation is awful, the story mode is awful, the extra features aren't fleshed out and while the infinity stone mechanic is interesting this isn't exactly breaking the mold.

When you look at the roster even pretending the rosters of previous games didn't exist it does not give me the feeling of grabbing all the iconic heroes of either the Marvel or Capcom universe. Even if we are ignoring the X-men issue we have the issue with female characters 4 in the base game. Yu got tons of DLC characters including on disc DLC junk but even adding that in the roster wouldn't be good. You would have 6 female characters in a roster of 36 that is just bad. I mean even if we just wanted Marvel cinematic universe characters why wasn't Black Panther in the base roster? Why wasn't Black Widow in the base roster? Why aren't Luke Cage, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, DareDevil in this game, Quake, Medusa, Scarlet Witch, there is so many ways to diversify the roster or even like skins that revoice characters and reskin them to include things for comics fans like Kate Bishop. Miles, Moonstone, etc? It feels like this was a lazy cash in for Marvel to claim they did a AAA game.

If you look at this roster, and the gameplay, at the mechanics I feel like there is just something better at everything they are doing including ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, a game you can buy for your ps4 already. I would rather play Blazblue, Guilty Gear, Dragon Ball Fighters when that comes out, Nitroburst, even Injustice at least offers a bit more interesting stuff. There is so many fighting out there to play this game fails to say why you should play it unless your a die hard fan of X or another character you couldn't play before that you can play now (and there is so few).

The game's graphics are awful, the UI and presentation is some of the worst seen in a 2017 game, the music is disgraceful and themes are poorly done. The story mode is lame and bland, the VA's aren't even trying to sound enthusiastic and arcade mode is missing endings. All these features were present in MvC3, but not in Infinite.

The gameplay is mediocre compared to UMVC3. Extremely slow, drops from 3v3 to 2v2, lacks assists, other mechanics and only uses a tag feature.

It's an awful game, through and through.
