Dead or Alive 6 is probably the best chapter in the series thanks to its good gameplay mechanics, both polished and perfected for the newcomers.- The Games Machine

Electronic Arts says goodbye to the FIFA brand with an edition that is not perfect, but still deserves a wide promotion. HyperMotion 2 is excellent, and the gameplay offers slightly slower matches than in the past, with less dribbling and more maneuvering. There is still room for improvement, and some aspects (for example, the goalkeepers) need an adjustment via patch, but overall the game flows in a pleasant and fun way. Good, without major upheavals, the game modes, which traditionally offers a range of variants that can satisfy anyone, starting from those who want to enjoy a quick go to those who want to manage an entire team.- The Games Machine

Chock full of interesting elements, as well as beautiful gameplay, Kvark knows how to involve and take the player into a Half Life revisited in a nuclear apocalypse key. You kill which is wonderful, you spend your time dancing on the corpses of enemies and there is a not bad dose of gratuitous violence. It is what could lead someone to buy it, in fact, to make it their own. And I would recommend it to those who need to see some blood spilled on the ground. I needed it and, of course, I came out as the leader of the pack.- The Games Machine

FIFA 22 kicks-off of the football season with a renewed edition, with the much-awaited Hypermotion Technology playing the leading role. The (numerous) new animations shine above all, while the gameplay has a slightly lower pace, with skills playing a lesser role. An interesting choice, that works quite well despite some issues (goalkeepers) that we hope will be fixed as soon as possible. As always, there is a rich choice of game modes, with a range of options able to satisfy both those looking for a quick & simple experience and those looking for a challenge that can last for months... or even until the release of FIFA 23.- The Games Machine

Last Day of June is an intimate and moving adventure, yet elegant and sophisticated. Albeit a linear structure and some minor gameplay flaws, it's a game that tells an extremely human story, with some unexpected surprises, and where the gameplay drives the narrative. A shining example of how videogames can be an authentic expression of emotions.- The Games Machine

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is the turning point for one of the most famous series produced by Ubisoft. Despite a somewhat shallow storyline and a constant sense of déjà-vu due to the evident reuse of assets from its direct predecessor, the metamorphosis in a full-fledged action RPG is successful, assisted by a system of choices and consequences that works well in guaranteeing tangible repercussions in the world. Now we can’t wait to find out how the series will evolve.- The Games Machine

Players beware: it is really hard to stop playing Redout 2. It's more a simulator than an arcade, but it will still keep you hooked and wanting to race again and again on amazing tracks located in beautiful environment. It would really need a training mode, because damn it's tough.- The Games Machine

Sins of a Solar Empire 2 burrows a few aspects from the 4X genre, but it’s mostly a very focused strategic game where war is all that matters. It’s very good at it and it’s also great at putting on our screens dozens of very cool spaceships on blowing each other up to bits. If only it also had a campaign mode.- The Games Machine

A forgotten land shrouded in myth, a sacred egg holding the fate of a species, and a dying explorer’s last wish — Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy returns as a visually rich, emotionally charged journey. Rebuilt from the ground up in full 3D, it enhances the original with modern gameplay mechanics, an integrated journal system, reimagined puzzles, and dual difficulty modes. A classic adventure reimagined for today’s hardware and sensibilities.- The Games Machine

Same as its predecessors Verdun and Tannenberg, Isonzo is a niche shooter, and this reflects both in its gameplay mechanics and in its production budget. Undeniable technical limitations, however, cannot hide the fact that Isonzo is a solid game that fully shows the passion Blackmill Games poured into it, and is especially enjoyable if played with an organized group. Recommended, as long as you’re aware of what you’re getting into and don’t mind getting killed by someone you can’t even see.- The Games Machine

Remothered for console is the same beautiful game seen on PC, a survival horror with strong adventure components that perfectly balances non-scripted AI with puzzles and a cohesive tale. The game is weaker in the concluding portion, and it takes only 6-7 hours to deal with it, but remains a high-level exercise in storytelling and gameplay.- The Games Machine

Football Manager 2018 is a bigger, deeper and more complex episode of the saga. The best football universe simulation features a lot of new mechanics which give to the managers the chance to feel, manage and understand even better their teams. The evolution is amazing, but lacks of a real update to the UI, too old and chaotic, a little bit of polishing, with some dynamics which need to be fixed with the upcoming updates, and some issues in terms of hardware optimisation.- The Games Machine

With TopSpin 2K25 Hangar 13 did a good job there where it was needed, in recreating a realistic but not frustrating tennis experience, very technical but at the same time challenging and fun. The content is canonical and technically there is still some work to be done, but if you love "non-televised" tennis and believe that with the right training you could beat even Federer, it's time to give it a try ... at least on a virtual tennis court.- The Games Machine

Chants of Sennaar is a game that uses language in a unique way, putting it at the center of its bizarre puzzles. Midway between graphic adventure and puzzle game, it sports rarefied and evocative settings, populated by mysterious figures speaking unknown languages. Beyond that, however, it does something very few other games do: it displaces the player, disorients him or her, and urges them to pursue the discovery of knowledge, instead of replicating already seen mechanics. That is why it is even forgiven for stealth phases.- The Games Machine

Minute of Islands is an adventure where the story and its themes get the main stage, while the gameplay is mostly there to get the story going, but it stands among other games thanks to the depth of its narrative. The added value are the outstanding illustrations, sort of a mix between Attack on Titan and Adventure Time, that manage to create a fresh, colourful, intriguing, but at the same time disturbing world, just like Mo's adventure.- The Games Machine

Little Hope is, both from a technical and gameplay point of view, a step forward compared to Man of Medan. The changes do not impact the gameplay greatly, but still make the experience more pleasant overall. The storyline is well thought out with numerous branches leading to an interesting plot twist at the end.- The Games Machine

On Your Tail is a lively journey through Liguria in the role of the young Diana, a Turinese in search of inspiration for her new work. Built well and with soul, the title reaches the heart of the player with simplicity and skill, leveraging the memories and memories of the past of each of us. It is not easy, if we think about it, to be able to tell oneself with memories. Long live memories, then, but also beautiful Italian video games. And On Your Tail is a beautiful Italian video game.- The Games Machine

Road 96 is a nice revelation. The slow start gives the wrong impression of a game similar to many recent narrative adventures: well written, but without that peculiar something that can make it shine. Instead, its formula based on the repetition of the paths and on the procedurality of the encounters proved to be a great strength in the long run, capable of adding depth to the game and distinguishing it from its (valid) predecessors. More than this, it's the perfect game for summertime: a good song on the radio, the long road ahead of us, sunglasses on and a future where plenty of choices await.- The Games Machine

South Park: The Fractured But Whole is an amazing game also on Nintendo Switch, despite the long loading times, and some problems in the docked mode (a bit of aliasing and fonts a little bit too small for comfort). A wonderful experience for all the South Park fans, but only if you don't have the chance to play it elsewhere.- The Games Machine

Kirby and the Lost Land is a very successful game, undermined by a disarming ease and a skimpy longevity for those not interested in its secrets. However, leaving them out would be a great shame, because the research greatly enhances a level design that is only apparently linear thanks to that disruptive creativity that Hal Laboratory masters like few developers.- The Games Machine

VirtuaVerse is a lot of things. It is a tribute to old school point&click adventures and, at the same time, a modern take on the genre. It is also an act of love to cyberpunk and his themes. But more than anything else, VirtuaVerse is a great adventure set in a detailed world built on a great pixel graphic, fantastic music and a suggestive atmosphere.- The Games Machine

Sometimes a good idea is all you need, and Shatter Ground got a great one. The gamble of combining turn-based strategy with a card game and with the stylish fighting of Superhot ended up working quite well. I personally found Fights in Tight Spaces’ roguelite mechanics a little frustrating, but it is a matter of taste and in any case the game offers five different difficulty settings. One last praise goes to the artistic & technical aspects of the game, minimalist yet functional and pleasantly rich in details.- The Games Machine
