Football Manager 2022 is the kind of game that doesn’t really need to change. Even if there’s no revolution mechanics wise, many aspects show a finer attention to detail, and there are some new factors to consider. A more complete and more fun game, that every fan of the franchise is sure to enjoy.- The Games Machine

Two Point Hospital is perfect for anyone affected by nostalgia syndrome caused by old Bullfrog games, but it is also suitable for healthy bearers of irony and for all those who are not afraid of getting infected by its amusing frenzy. The port of the control system on Switch is very good, even if the loads are longer and framerate is sometimes unstable – a not so important flaw for the gameplay of Two Point Hospital.- The Games Machine

Stasis: Bone Totem is a point-and-click graphic adventure that exploits the classic mechanics of the genre in a modern and appealing technical setting, although the game was made almost entirely by only two people. Its strength lies in its horror-tinged sci-fi atmospheres and in its narrative which presents interesting reflections on ethics and corporations. The writing style is verbose: this might be a limitation for some, but it is an indispensable ingredient in the creation of a world that winks at cosmic horror.- The Games Machine

Yakuza 0 is the perfect prologue to an underestimated - at least here in Europe - yet rich and complex saga. The story is really intriguing, albeit dedicated to hardcore Japan fans, with its dialogues in Japanese (English-subbed). The gameplay is genuinely, and truly, "Japanese". If you love Japan, this is a game you shouldn't miss.- The Games Machine

Many thought it almost impossible to bring a “heavy” game like Cyberpunk 2077 to Switch 2 with comforting results, but mission accomplished. Obviously some compromises had to be made that make this version oscillate between those of the old- and new-gen consoles, but overall the CD Projekt behemoth performs more than adequately and proves to be an experience worthy of remaining in history. Instead, the Phantom Liberty expansion suffers a little more than expected.- The Games Machine

MLB The Show 17 is not a huge improvement over the previous chapter, but Sony San Diego managed to renovate the franchise, maximizing every single element of the game. Beautiful to see, even more beautiful to play. A must for every baseball fan.- The Games Machine

Giving a score to a game like Destiny 2 is a difficult task: on one hand, the new game from Bungie offers a variety of content so huge, it literally makes your head spin; on the other hand, here and there something is missing, and it often seems like something you'll find in a future expansion or DLC. Anyway, a truly amazing game.- The Games Machine

Skate Story offers an original approach to skateboarding, using it as a tool for movement and combat rather than a purely athletic discipline. The physics are solid and accurately convey weight and inertia, while the controls are responsive and accessible, allowing players to chain together tricks and combos without excessive technical barriers. The boss fight system, based on speed and scoring, works well and enhances the gameplay. However, the level design remains cautious: the routes offer few opportunities for creative experimentation, board customization is superficial, and the quests, while clear in their objectives, sometimes feel like simple gameplay pretexts rather than genuine storytelling progressions.- The Games Machine

The Alters blends 3D survival, resource management and base building with a strong narrative component. As Jan Dolski, we must explore a hostile planet, manage a space base and create alternate versions of ourselves to survive. Each Alter has unique abilities, but also memory, personality and unresolved conflicts. Managing tensions between clones, assigning the right roles, keeping morale high and coping with extreme environmental conditions becomes the heart of the gameplay. A deep challenge, between micro management, psychology and human science fiction drama told through multiple multiple choice dialogues.- The Games Machine

WipEout is a religion, the air brakes are its ministers, and speed is its only temple. Omega Collection is the celebration of its creed, the three chapters of the saga gathered in one, thrilling experience. If you love speed, you can't possibly want to miss it.- The Games Machine

Mortal Kombat XL is basically a huge all-you-can-eat for fighting games fans. It's not polished as Street Fighter V, but the gameplay is fast-paced and fun, and bound to keep your stomach full for a long, long time.- The Games Machine

Atelier Ryza 3 confirms the amazing quality of this franchise, optimizing the combat system, strengthening the already excellent game framework, increasing its scope in terms of content, maps and longevity. A few bad aesthetic jokes don't ruin a game that makes adventure, lightness and relaxation its trump cards, taking home the loot with an obvious effort to be rewarded without hesitation.- The Games Machine

Worldless is an excellent, intelligent and well-packaged video game, capable of both offering brilliant platform phases and representing an extremely focused and addictive Metroidvania. Supported by a story to discover, it is a video game that focuses on both visual impact and its combat system, managing to be incredibly focused in both lights in an enveloping way. It's really a lot, a lot of stuff for a team making its first video game that arrives in such an aggressive and fierce market.- The Games Machine

Europa Universalis V is the most mature version of the series: not only does it add features, but it integrates them into a coherent fabric that makes the historical simulation more believable. It's not perfect, but it's a blast.- The Games Machine

Ratchet & Clank boisterously raises the bar for all the remakes to come: a lot of new planets to explore, new weapons, and a wonderful and uber-polished porting. A genuinely fun experience from start to finish, one we definitely recommend to all PS4 owners.- The Games Machine

Valkyria Chronicles finally comes back to major gaming platforms, where it belongs. Despite some minor defects, the management of tactics and strategies in and out the battlefield offers a great experience. SEGA bring us a huge amount of high-quality content, but the tone of the narrative might not be in line with part of the western audience.- The Games Machine

Football Manager 2020 is another confirmation of Sports Interactive’s ability in crafting a great title every year. No revolution is to be expected, but many smaller improvements bring the game ever closer to technical perfection. FM 2021 is clean and optimized, probably also thanks to the fact that the game will also release on Xbox One and Series X|S.- The Games Machine

Kirby and the Lost Land is a very successful game, undermined by a disarming ease and a skimpy longevity for those not interested in its secrets. However, leaving them out would be a great shame, because the research greatly enhances a level design that is only apparently linear thanks to that disruptive creativity that Hal Laboratory masters like few developers.- The Games Machine

Total War: Three Kingdoms collects the legacy of the previous chapters related to the Warhammer universe, presenting many noteworthy innovations that show how that formula can also be applied in a historical context. There are also some good new mechanics on the espionage and diplomacy side, too bad that the artificial intelligence hasn’t been retouched accordingly, representing once again the weakest part of the entire offer.- The Games Machine

The fantasy setting of Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew plays a decisive role in giving new life to the Commandos-like genre, providing a series of new skills that will surprise newbies and fascinate veterans. The complete freedom of approach to the missions and the possibility of deciding almost immediately which character to face them with makes this game unique, certainly the best of its kind and among the most interesting real-time strategy video games to appear lately. Charismatic protagonists and a superb level design complete the offer making it a must for those who want to be quick with the mouse and quick with the mind.- The Games Machine

Backfirewall_ is a simple but effective idea that Naraven develops with intelligence and taste. The puzzle component is witty, well balanced and lightened by a hint system that averts the risk of frustration. The most interesting part, however, is undoubtedly the narrative.- The Games Machine

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it does everything it has to do in the best possible way. Or rather, almost everything: unfortunately the plot is negligible and the characters have the same charisma as a puddle. Beyond this, however, the structure of the semi-open world is very complex, the combat system is much deeper than the average of the genre, and the platforming borders on excellence. A return in style for one of the most beloved franchises of all time.- The Games Machine
