FIFA 18 improves the previous game in every aspect, with the Frostbite engine which takes animation and physics to a brand new level of quality. The gameplay is fun and lets you play a wonderful offensive football, while the new full manual defense is quite harsh to manage. Overall, the game offers a huge and deep football experience, thanks to a solid single player (with the new Career mode and the awesome second season of The Journey) and endless multiplayer action.

The first Mario RPG is still damn fun. Even almost 30 years after its original release, it offers a fun, fresh adventure full of many little surprises. A difficulty level that is not particularly high allows it to be playable even by an audience not particularly accustomed to the genre, but veterans may find it a little too forgiving.

Despite an intense backtracking and a large use of old assets, Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse is a good game, imbued with the epic spirit of the series. Beware the cryptic story, if you have not played the previous episodes.

In recent years, the old-school FPS genre has been undergoing a kind of rebirth; and if the results are games like Prodeus, we should be glad it has. Solid gunplay, excellent soundtrack, and graphics that might be old-school, but never feel dated: this is an excellent debut for Bounding Box Games. Granted, it’s not flawless and the checkpoint system especially raises some eyebrows, but Produes is definitely a game worth checking out if you’re into old-school FPSs. And even if you’re not, honestly.

Berserk Boy is a splendid and profound work, with a brilliant and lively game design, powerful and direct, capable of impressing and offering an engaging experience. To be had and propagated with joy, as this production is destined to be a yardstick.

Chicken Police: Paint It Red proves you can create a smart, original game even by putting together pieces of 40’s noir movies with old point&click adventures and painting it all in cool B&W visual style. The smart move is adding animals to the equation: grumpy roosters and sexy cats lead to sharp dialogues and funny wordplay, while at the same time showing what is wrong in human nature. The plot may not be the most original, but Chicken Police is definitely worth playing.

PES 2018 is like the Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde of videogames: troubled when played offline, very good when played online. There are some setbacks as far as AI and referees are concerned, but that doesn't seem to affect the online community. A game definitely worthy of your attention, especially if you mostly play online.

The courage of Treyarch must always be rewarded, and that is why we feel confident in affirming that, for now, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 can really make a difference in its own genre, especially thanks to the new Blackout mode. Nice job.

Atelier Ryza Secret Trilogy Deluxe Pack is a charming celebration of one of Gust’s most beloved RPG sagas. The three remastered titles look and play better than ever, packed with all DLCs, quality-of-life updates, and plenty of content. While the first game shows its age and performance could be smoother, the trilogy’s warmth, optimism, and refined alchemy systems shine through. A colorful, feel-good journey about friendship and growth. Perfect for fans and newcomers alike.

A game like Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night deserves a second opinion, and here it is on PS4: Iga gave Castlevania classics fans exactly what they wanted; we can find weaknesses, but the substance is a love letter to Symphony of the Night.

Building on a rock-solid foundation, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 manages to sustain the world's oppressive expectations with disarming ease. Solid gunplay combined with gameplay refreshed with new features and many tweaks aimed at optimizing the user experience give us one of the most entertaining CoDs in recent years. And that's just the beginning.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is not a bad game but it is disappointing, a metroidvania all too anchored in the past that doesn't really add anything new to the genre that Koji Igarashi himself contributed. Beyond the bland execution and the continuous plagiarism of Symphony of the Night and Aria of Sorrow, Bloodstained is plagued by too many problems, especially in terms of combat and the hitbox system, preventing an enjoyable gaming experience. It hurts to say this, but there are too many better alternatives to Bloodstained on the market. We expected a lot more than this from Igarashi-san.

Everhood is simply incredible. A carnival populated by masks that have lost their humanity, a deep, rich tale, enhanced by a gameplay that mixes rhythm game, adventure and RPG. A gem that deserves to be played by as many people as possible.

Just as Astro Bot Rescue Mission was the perfect title to introduce PS VR, Astro's Playroom is a gem that works better than any manual or data sheet in creating a real man-machine relationship, informal, very pleasant and extremely fun. The DualSense proves to be an exceptional controller with absolutely unique sensory possibilities, capable of bringing the player even closer to the gameplay. Not a traumatic revolution, but still one that leads to a new and unknown level of intimacy that, apart from VR, had never been reached in a “traditional” video game. Its nature as a pre-installed software gives Astro’s Playroom a sensational value in terms of empathy and "first impact" with the new generation, communicating in the language of fun and surprise everything there is to know about the characteristics of PS5. Something far more important than any judgment.

Crash 4 is an excellent purchase for all those PC players who really want to put themselves to the test with a tough-as-nails platformer. Toys for Bob proved once again to be a solid fit for the franchise, expertly following in the tracks of Naughty Dog while adding their own to the mix. Definitely give it a chance, and don’t be discouraged by its difficulty – we’ve all been through it.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is colorful, virtuous and fun, offering an interesting level of difficulty that makes the whole operation not just a vehicle to recall memories, but also a challenging arcade game with all the trappings of the genre.

Kingdom Hearts 3 succeeds in the difficult task of living up to expectations without shaking up its foundations but improving on the strengths of the previous chapters. Spectacular in its artistic direction, exhilarating in its fights and fulfilling on the narrative side, to be fully appreciated Kingdom Hearts 3 requires, however, that its public is aware of the intricate background of the saga. After waiting for so many years, recommending the last adventure of Sora, Donald and Goofy would only be a negligible formality.

A solid "more of the same" that will delight fans of the previous Splatoon. It is thanks to Nintendo for having made an effort (with good results) to stick a fun and quite varied single player experience to a purely multiplayer-oriented franchise. Splatoon 3 is another example of the Nintendo Difference, perhaps not the most original but certainly one of the most fun.

It won’t be remembered for its technical accomplishments, but the new installment in the Deus Ex series is a game full of attention to the detail and love for the players. The sophisticated cyberpunk atmospheres of the locations around the world offer the player the possibility to experiment with various gameplay approaches, which is always a good thing. The new Breach mode is fun but slightly flawed, and it probably won’t be your favourite.

Harry Potter fans will go mad at the chance to experience an epic adventure within a familiar setting recreated with such passion and accuracy, but those who crave it for action RPG soul should know that Hogwarts Legacy is not it features exceptionally deep mechanics. It's a game with a lot of heart, there's no doubt about it, it's simple to play and effective in catapulting you into the Wizarding World thanks to a fun combat system, a narrative component with the right attitude and an open world that may not be huge but certainly with all the curves and POIs at the right point.

Diving back into Snake Eater in a remastered, more fluid and modernized remake with a revised control system is undoubtedly an offer few would be able to resist. We would have liked to see a little more courage—after all, a betrayal for a just cause would have given the production character—but we understand that Delta is the first timid step toward a new direction for the series. We remain curious to see how Konami will expand its ambitions in terms of re-releases of past installments, perhaps in Volume 2 of the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection or, who knows, with future remakes and, why not, new episodes. A reverential homage, perhaps too much so, but nonetheless essential for fans.

Nier Replicant Ver. 1.22474487139 is not a remake but neither is it a simple remaster. It's an enhanced version that fixes some of the original game’s issues and delivers a bunch of new content, but does nothing to refresh its dated approach to world and quest design.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is a collection of obvious historical value, shining the spotlight on a selection of lesser-known but significant titles within the long tradition of Capcom fighting games. Technically well realised, with netcode rollback and unlocked content right out of the box, it represents an excellent rediscovery opportunity for fans and the curious alike. However, some controversial choices - such as a Capcom Fighting Jam that no one asked for, or the requirement of the EO version of Capcom vs. SNK 2 in ranked matches - reduce its competitive potential and risk alienating veterans. At the moment, it feels more like a collection for nostalgics and collectors than a platform on which to build a new online scene, but Capcom has shown it knows how to listen to fans' complaints and who knows, maybe Capcom vs SNK 2 could break free of the shackles of that unfortunate revision very soon.
