Avowed has a beautiful world full of things to discover, but there's a lot of caveats in the experience.

LEGO Horizon Adventures isn't amazing, and it doesn't even aim to be. With beautiful visuals even in performance mode, the game delivers a fun and irreverent story stitched together with competent gameplay. Because it's short, the title barely flirts with repetitiveness, and it's a good light adventure for those looking for some relaxation. The story could delve a little deeper into the details of Zero Dawn... but we already have the original game for that, right?

Endless Ocean Luminous lets the player loose and, at the same time, blocks its progress by imposing limits to the story progression by requiring exploration in its free diving modes. If you are a fan of the original, however, know that this is not exactly the remake that the original deserved.

Sonic Superstars embodies the classic 2D Sonic game qualities, which is a commendable feature as it ensures an enjoyable gaming experience. However, this also serves as a point of critique, given the series' frequent reliance on nostalgia in past iterations.

Detective Pikachu Returns maintains the charm and simplicity of the original game, which makes it another great entry-level game for children. On the other hand, it stands in the shadow of it’s predecessor, since the mystery fails to retain interest. Still, Returns is a worthwhile experience for Pokémon fans, who’ll find depth and the fun in dialogue and interactions with the little monsters.

Final Fantasy XVI is a messy game that sometimes delivers and sometimes does not. The new combat system only becomes good after many hours and the fetch quests are an insult. Still, the story is captivating and so are the characters.

LEGO 2K Drive has a satisfying campaign, with rich exploration and good gameplay. This review was based on the game's performance on Xbox Series X and throughout the eight or so hours of gameplay, I didn't notice any bugs or performance drops, even on the heavier maps. The game's biggest flaw is getting hung up on microtransactions that are too easily accessible, especially considering that the game is aimed at a children's audience. Other than this issue, which cannot be ignored, I had a lot of fun with the gameplay and exploration. The customization of the cars is heaven for long-time fans of the franchise. A pity that character customization is not included in the game as well.

Re-Boot Camp rescues Advance Wars' brilliant gameplay formula from a 15-year hiatus, but does so without ever displaying any amount of ambition. Its lackluster online multiplayer offering is emblematic of a re-release that shines on purely through the ingenuity of the original's gameplay loop.

Minecraft Legends is a great option for fans of Mojang's sandbox, a gateway to the strategy genre - increasingly defined as a niche - and also an interesting activity for those who want to explore every possibility of its mechanics, although it may disappoint some by its simplicity in presentation.

In Terra Nil, the player must rescue and restore life in a desert scenario by creating biomes for the restoration of life on a desolate planet. With an incredible graphic style and relaxing music, the game presents addictive challenges and mechanics. It’s sad that such an enjoyable game to play has so little content - I wish it had more stages to play. Even so, I recommend that you spend hours and hours with this game.

With a disappointing campaign, Lighjfall astonishes by not repeating the feat of The Witch Queen right off the bat. While it has been made clear that explanations will come as the seasons of 2023 progress, there is no denying that the quality of the plot is disappointing. However, everything beyond the main story adds to the Destiny experience. The new subclass offers interesting possibilities, while updates to mechanics such as those involving Champions and quality of life improvements provide refreshing and compelling content for both long-time players and those new to the series.

Crisis Core -Final Fantasy VII- Reunion does have a few qualities. Updated gameplay and far-better character models are always nice. Still, the game lacks visual improvements when it comes to cut-scenes and, honestly, the missions system will definitely few outdated for most modern players. If you wanna play it for the story, go on. If that's no the case, think again.

The storyline smothered by indifference and combat that becomes repetitive do not bring long-lasting entertainment to Marvel's Midnight Suns players, just as the proposal to create one's own avatar proves meaningless when the character already has his own past. Still, the game entertains and brings rich content in the form of interactions between heroes that can make Marvel comics and movies fans leave with glowing eyes.

It took eight years to complete Scorn and, when playing the final result, it's clear that more development time was needed. The game succeeds in teasing our senses with an exquisite setting and challenging puzzles, but it lacks a compelling story and refined gameplay to make it a worthwhile experience.

Madden NFL 23 continues to be what everyone expects. The only football game on the market is still far from having revolutionary changes, but EA Sports' willingness to pay homage to the man after whom the series is named seems to have turned the company's eyes on the right track. The return of experiences closer to a demanding simulator opens doors for more impactful improvements in the future of the series.

Tower of Fantasy has great potential and its universe is just being introduced. It's a good game in terms of mechanics, but it's important that you don't think of it as a “Genshin killer”, as has been said a lot in the weeks before its release. Genshin's inspiration is clear and is present with every step you take in the world of Aesperia, and Tower of Fantasy strives to make that feeling just transitory. For me it wasn't and the déjà vu became constant. It didn't catch me up, maybe it will be different with you.

Cult of the Lamb is relaxing, fun and hilarious – some surprises that the game has in store probably will make you laugh out loud. The contrast of cuteness and macabre makes everything even more fun and unique, with quirky characters, scenarios and relaxing electronic soundtrack. Even though it’s not among the best roguelikes, Massive Monster’s title is most certainly a brilliant “cult simulator”.

The roguelike charm is present in Arcadegeddon and the gameplay is extremely polished. However, while the game pleases at first glance and can be an experience to share with friends online, the repetitive objectives take some of the shine off the unique identity and strong personality given to the game and hide rich content from players who decide not to invest so much time in the game.

As much as there are some modifications that might make the game more appealing to newer players, Sonic Origins is undoubtedly something designed for long-time fans, especially those who just want to have access to the classic games on the current platforms, without much concern for changes. If you, like me, can't even remember a time in your life when Sonic didn't exist, the collection can be a nice, if somewhat a simple, gift. For the rest of us, it might not seem interesting at all.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge does what it set itself to do, bring people back to the 80's with a straight to the point beat ’em up experience. Despite of that, it remains modern, with enemies bringing up proper challenge to the player, even when facing the levels with friends. Unfortunately, it fails in bringing characters with personality. With all the turtles and other fighters doing pretty much the same thing, most passionate fans will still miss their beloved heroes.

The Quarry is an interactive teen horror movie and it's not ashamed of it. With a captivating cast and focus on investigation, Supermassive's new venture into the narrative genre is less terrifying than Until Dawn, but just as rewarding in allowing the player to delve deeper into the mystery and piece together the pieces individually. This time, the experience is more relaxed and less demanding, built with the objective of reaching a larger audience than its predecessor.

Chocobo GP is a fun game. It is, yes, "more of the same". It doesn't introduce any super elaborate or even new mechanics, it just recycles everything that the games of the genre already bring to the time. But it's fun, familiar and… cute. Of course, how enjoyable the game is can depend a lot — also — on how much of a fan of the Final Fantasy franchise you are. It's easy to be convinced by the cuteness of the characters (Chocobos!!!!) and have fun with the game. It's not a phenomenal game, but it can give you a few hours of fun, especially if you're playing with family or friends.
