In a world of shooters that take themselves far too seriously, John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando is that punch of slime in the face that makes you laugh while you’re drowning in it: a co-op game that lives for nights spent with friends. It’s Left 4 Dead wearing B-movie makeup, with vehicles mowing down zombies like grass and a soundtrack that takes you straight back to the VHS of The Thing.

The formula of this super indie puzzle game is centered on the gravity and some levels will test your patience, although it does not come to spikes of pure frustration.

Fantasy Life is a very ambitious project, able to fulfill its ultimate goal, which is to immerse the player into a fantasy world, with a lot of things to do and a lot of places to explore. Fantasy Life is one of the best games for 3DS released in 2014.

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is a step backward in this new spin-off series. It has a lot of content, but the episodic nature of the game has contributed some problems to the story and the gameplay, both of which are full of fillers. The conversion, at least, is good.

The time spent with Scribblenauts Unlimited is mostly good time, but there are some issues that are preventing it from becoming a complete experience. Once players get the grasp on the mechanics the game becomes excessively easy, and the many puzzles not always are capable of offering a diversified experience. 5th Cell's game seems built around the Wii U Gamepad, a plus, but that shows the portable origins of the series, a series that needs something more to compete in the home-consoles environment.

Despite its name, Disney Illusion Island is not a new game of the beloved "illusion series" for old SEGA consoles. It's a simple and well crafted metroidvania with a sweet and relaxed atmosphere that reminds the old good Walt Disney of twenty years ago.

Kirby Star Allies is another good game of a long lasting series. The game is fresh and gives lot of fun, and the gameplay, even if it's simple, is rock-solid.

Martha is Dead is a suggestive adventure game: the narrative plot is very interesting, as well as the way the story is told. Too bad about the gameplay not being too in-depth.

Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper is a good graphic adventure, full of funny gameplay Sadly, the technical aspect is poor and feels some 10 years old, but if you can live with that, a good storytelling and plenty of exploration and problem solving will keep you busy.

X-Men Origins Wolverine is a thrilling action game, and it delivers all the violence and the testosteronic action that Logan's fans were asking for. A great combat system is mixed with good level design; on the other side, the difficulty level is not challenging, and there's a lot of repetitiveness in the second half.

It definitely improves the main game, with better graphics and new (and fun) modes. There’s still a looong way to go though, both technically and from a gameplay standpoint. If you enjoyed The Crew, it’s still a great purchase.

A more complex and complete product if compared to the first one, but still a fan-service fest, that’s a bit too easy to be appreciated by hardcore JRPG and turn based strategy fans. It’s a perfect entry point for newbies, that’s for sure.

Not your usual Zelda game, that's for sure, but still brilliant when it comes to level design, and extremely fun if played online or with friends. It has some limitations, but it's still a bright example of good level design. Singleplayer is the only weakness of this Zelda game, since it doesn't work as well as the co-op component.

It's a beat'em'up for the genre fans, dedicated to learn all of its tricks. The newcomers won't have an easy time with it. A shame for the lack of polish on the online, that makes it laggy and lacking depth and content, and the lame graphics. This won't stop the fans though, that will still have fun with the great combat system.
