The best open-world game of the year. The map is huge and the battle-system is dynamic and engaging, the art directions is satisfying. Despite some minor problems, this XV chapter of Final Fantasy sets a new road for the future of the series.

Graphically it’s an old game and it’s pretty obvious, but this is still a great PC port of a brilliant action rpg. The gameplay is still fun, challenging and rich, the class and pawn systems are original and deep, and you should definitely try it out if you missed it on consoles.

Genshin Impact really is much more than a shameful Zelda clone: its open world is busy and gorgeous, its combat feels creative and it's free. For real.

Puyo Puyo Tetris on the Nintendo Switch is an absolute must-buy for all the gamers who like puzzle games and/or great titles to play in local multiplayer. It is fast, colourful, fun and has a ton of different game modes, and it really fits perfectly on Nintendo's new hardware.

The long awaited end of the Erebonian arc is finally here, and it's a huge and well-written, if not classic, JRPG, that is recommended to all fans of the series. It's a tough sell for newcomers, though, so the advice is to play the other three chapters before this one.

Good enemies variety and the new dark setting deliver an average amount of fun for those who love the original game. It won't last long, but it's still a fair deal.

The console port of this important series has certainly proven successful. The game is an excellent title based on aerial combat in the middle of World War II when played in arcade mode.

It doesn’t turn the original formula upside down (obviously, since it worked so well), and it could have been way better from a narrative standpoint with more courage, and yet Bravely Second is still and amazing JRPG, and a must buy for anyone who liked the first chapter in the series.

If you've spent dozens and dozens of hours with Civilization V, Beyond Earth will probably be your favorite game of the year. The new work by Firaxis built a fortress on the foundations laid by his predecessor, and comes to offer a more complex, customized, comprehensive and demanding experience.

F1 Manger 2024 has finally managed to include the much-loved custom career. This raises the bar of the competition and presents us with a game with solid foundations, but also capable of renewing itself. A fun, competitive title that tests us in many different situations. Overall, therefore, a very respectable manager this year too.

Wizorb is a successful tribute to Breakout and Arkanoid, with good pixelated graphics and precise controls. The mouse support makes this game a little too easy, but at its price it's still a deal.

Despite a rather limited budget and a questionable balance between puzzles and combat, Dungeons of Hinterberg offers an original and very enjoyable vision of the dungeon crawler concept, interposing a narrative that is anything but banal and surprisingly deep dialogues to the exploration and dynamics typical of the genre. If taken as a pure and simple dungeon crawler, Curve Games' work is just another colorful proposal in a rather crowded market - and populated by structurally and mechanically more valid congeners -, but the mix of typical elements of this type of game and snippets of everyday life, with a protagonist who is easy to identify with, makes the proposal of the Austrian team Microbird Games unique.

Where puzzles meet stealth gameplay and augmentations - there's Deus Ex Go. The game stands out for the brilliant level design and the amazing art direction, but its attempt to tell a story is completely forgettable and the stages have no side objectives to achieve.

Assassin's Creed Origins is a beautiful open world action-adventure game, a real reborn for the Ubisoft saga made possible by a fresh new combat and quest system. The story is passionate and the character of Aya is very cool. Perhaps the game is not perfect and had some trouble of game design, but we can surely say that is very good and a perfect way to follow for the next chapter.

Muramasa: The Demon Blade is a great 2D action game. Unique and amazing Japanese style makes the game a truly beauty to play. Too much backtracking and a lack of variety in the gameplay are two unforgivable missteps. Luckily there are over one hundred swords to forge and two different stories to play.

It feels nonetheless unfair that the PC public had to endure so mutch after spending the money: let's hope it's a lesson soon learned.
