Steamworld Dig 2 builds a solid metroidvania explorative game upon the foundations laid by its predecessor. Better combat, better level design, better graphics and more in depth gameplay makes this one of the best indie titles available on Nintendo Switch.

After a year after its original release, Rise of the Tomb Raider finally lands on the PlayStation 4, coming into the houses of all fans of the most iconic archaeologist of the videogame. Crystal Dynamics has managed to improve what already was good in the previous installment, raising a series that has made the history of the medium.

Alwa's Awakening is a true, but beautiful, trip in the past. Everything is close to the old masterpieces of videogames, with only a few buttons that were able to do all the things a gamer needed.

Graphics-wise, Yakuza Kiwami 2 is the best in the franchise so far, but it's not only the Dragon Engine that shines: an array of mini-games, an amazing campaign and improved combat system are the stars of the show.

A great first episode for the LittleBigPlanet franchise on PSVita: creating and sharing has never been this easy and fun, even if the platform sections aren't as polished as expected.

The good old Worms is back on pc and it's looking better than ever. A lot of missions and game modes will take a lot of time to complete, and the multiplayer it's more than enough of a reason to justify the purchase for old-time fans of the series and newcomers alike. The only criticism we have is that in 15 years the gameplay remained basically unchanged from that of the original title. It's still great fun, but maybe it's time for something new.

Tekken 7 is a fighting game with a great gameplay, but with little content in the single player mode. The story, however, is pleasing and full of content, unlike what happened in the previous chapters. Tekken 7 is the most balanced and immediate Tekken ever.

Metroid Other M is very ambitious. Tradition and modern join together to create a new, wonderful experience.

Its gameplay and very short duration might not appeal to everyone, but the atmosphere in which the game immerses us thanks to an exceptional script is simply extraordinary.

Ninja Gaiden 4 is built on solid foundations and a clear vision. It was a bold gamble on a legendary legacy, but also an opportunity to redefine the boundaries of hardcore action combat on modern PCs and consoles. Yakumo doesn’t have Ryu’s charisma, and we hope the undisputed hero of the saga will take center stage again in the future. Still, PlatinumGames’ touch—despite the many departures—remains pure gold.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is already quite a fine game on consoles, but on pc it’s even more beautiful to look at. The guys at Crystal Dynamics are definitely good at ports, and this is another fine demonstration of their ability, an extensive and fun action-adventure game that pc users will definitely appreciate.

While Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon may not shine from a technical standpoint and can feel like a patchwork of successful ideas reassembled in a new way, pulling off such a feat was far from easy. The developers never hid their (notable) sources of inspiration and have instead crafted a love letter to open-world role-playing games, brought to life through a compelling and well-executed dark fantasy atmosphere—one capable of winning over genre enthusiasts and, perhaps, drawing in newcomers as well. It took some time in early access to reach this point, but it was undoubtedly worth the wait.

Little King's Story may be considered one of the best games in spring 2009, as well as an example of how to make games that can give you emotions and be fun at the same time. Rising Star offers the gamers a great mixture of strategic, RPG and management elements, creating the perfect recipe for a natty and at times ironic adventure. Recommended for all Wii owners and, most of all, for Pikmin lovers, who will find in this game a similar gameplay.

A remastered game that makes sense, considering the limited number of players that had a chance to try the original. This Ps4 version also makes the controls tighter (mostly by abandoning touch controls), and adds the downloadable contents to the main package. Get it if you couldn’t play it on Playstation Vita.

Dark Souls Remastered is the best version of a wonderful classic game, with 60 fps rock solid, a great netcode and a real high definition. Too bad for some low quality textures and the oversaturated colors that create a bad cohesion between characters and locations.

Bloober Team has hit the mark once again, proving how the experience accumulated over years and years of horror productions is leading to titles of ever-increasing quality. Cronos: The New Dawn started out as a new IP with everything to prove, and it managed to win us over thanks to a captivating setting supported by an intense atmosphere, perfectly functioning survival horror mechanics, and excellent level design. We’re convinced that for many fans of the genre, Cronos could become a name to watch in the future, but for now, enjoy this excellent beginning.

It’s quite the atypical roguelike, a challenging game full of tension and unexpected events, that will keep you entertained for many hours, and becomes even more charming by brilliantly using a truly dark setting and an interesting madness mechanic.

The PS4 version of Path of Exile is not the best of the bunch, and there are still bugs and glitches all over, but this is still an excellent hack'n'slash RPG and one of the best free-to-play to have ever graced the console market.

Marvel's Spider-Man is a huge tribute to the superhero. The original story is written around him and has great moments. It's somehow slow at the beginning and the game design is not original, but from the second act it starts to gain strength and at the end has the right climax to make the entire game succeed.

Dead Space Etraction has literally taken parts from the best Survival Horror games and reconstituted them in a great rail shooter with a great deal of claustrophobic atmosphere and enemies. The unique requirement of dismembering enemies will turn some off to this game, but for those who can stomach the gore and stand the scares, there just isn't a better horror game for this console. Turn off the lights and good luck.
