Panic Button's work is commendable. On Nintendo Switch, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus offers the same quality of the original adventure, without altering the great personality of MachineGame's work. We can therefore unleash Terror Billy's fury against the Nazi army, embracing dozens of guns and experimenting original mechanics, at any time and in any place. The price to pay will be slightly limited graphics, but that does not hinder the dynamism that characterizes the action-packed gunplay.

Twisted Metal is back with its chaotic and amazing multiplayer. Unfortunately, the single-player campaign is pretty boring and from a technical standpoint the game feels a bit "old". Still, if you want a brutally fun online experience, this is the game for you.

Tetris Effect is still the same old puzzle game, but its renewed presentation will appeal to new and old players alike.

Deus Ex Human Revolution: Director's Cut is, without any doubt, the ultimate version of the masterpiece by Eidos Montreal, and the WiiU Gamepad even manages to ennoble it by adding further interesting mechanics. Unfortunately, the price is way too high for a two-year-old game.

Total War: Rome II - Rise of the Republic analyzes a rich and fascinating century, with an excellent historical reconstruction.

We are not yet before the definitive Battlefield and not a 1:1 clone of Battlefield 3. The general balance will still require work, and the hope is that post-launch support will introduce more varied and open maps. However, the foundations are incredibly solid. You can feel the passion and the will of DICE and the Battlefield Studios to get back on track, to listen to their community, and to give back to Battlefield the crown it deserves.

Not the best choice if you're looking for a great SRPG on your Nintendo 3DS. Still, the best one if you're old enough to appreciate every dialogue and every character stuffed in this tiny cartdridge.

FIFA 18, is a good start point for the series with a Nintendo Console. There are a few gameplay problems, some modes aren't available, but the game itself, in the portable mode, is very enjoyable.

Tomorrow Corporation's first work is a total success. The story, the game mechanics and the atmosphere are awesome, and we totally recommend playing this title.

Despite the slow progression, the new mechanics are able to keep the player entertained for a long time. This is a game that rewards the most devoted players.

It is useless to get around it: we all feared that Dead Island 2 was vaporware at first, and then that it would arrive on the shelves not quite in shape, after a long, complicated development that did not bode well. And instead, for once, we are here to tell you about a happy ending: even without rewriting new pages in the history of first-person action RPGs, Dambuster Studios' zombie game turns out to be hilarious, long-lived, with only a handful of mechanics to internalize and lots of fun for those who will. The strengths are represented by the accuracy of the FLESH system, which changes the approach to certain clashes, by the iconicity of many of the locations visited, by the good level of challenge and even by a cooperative that proved to be solid during our tests . On the other hand, neither the feeling of firearms nor the technical sector limited by cross-gen development have fully convinced us, but the final balance remains largely positive.

PES 2018 significantly improves gameplay, animations and feelings during the game. Despite the squad license and the single player experience, it's still less attractive than the other big football game.

Atomega is a nice shooter from the studio behind Grow Home. It's simple to approach and entertaining to play, though it has only a map and a game mode.

Need for Speed: Payback has a lot of competitions to complete and has everything you can expect from a game in the series. It is also heavily focused on grinding, because it's the only way to avoid the infamous microtransactions.

Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 doesn't try to change the Lego formula: instead, it builds up on the benefits of its predecessor, delivering an entertaining experience thanks to a great variety of characters, locations and situations that will manage to keep players going until the very end of the game.

Among the best titles on the Nintendo E-Shop, without a doubt, Fast Racing Neo is a fast (duh) and tight racer that nostalgic gamers will definitely liked. Especially those that loved the F-Zero and Wipeout series.

Despite the bad graphics and the trite storyline, I Am Alive manages to surprise with rich gameplay and a pure survival experience. The player will find himself surrounded by a dusty doomsday scenario, forced to survive by using only his climbing gear, an almost empty gun and, last but not least, a sharp machete. At a quite low price, the game offers about five hours of good old entertainment and, unless you are detractors of the genre, you should give this latest little gem of digital delivery a chance.

Simply the best sniper game so far.

Mario Party Superstars is a nice "best of" with the best minigames of the franchise and revamped boards from the past.

GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is a shooter very focused on stealth that manages to carve out its market share with interesting gameplay.

This year’s Showcase mode is less engaging than last year’s edition but still works well, just like the rest of the package, which remains mostly unchanged. For wrestling and gaming fans, the series remains a key reference point (and the only option on the market), but the annual release model is showing its cracks—especially with the increased focus on microtransactions this year.

A really great title but unfortunately is suitable only for the fans of the genre. By the way we recommend to try it anyway at least once.

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood is much better than its predecessor in all areas. The gameplay is well balanced, the duality of the gameplay works well and can give you reasons to play the game at least twice. Some players will find some choices limiting, such as the inability to use at will the cooperative actions, but we can assure you that the level of quality of the design and pressing action, tend to make you forget the substantial linearity.

A captivating rhythm game that, with tons of contents, will make your Final Fantasy's heart beat fast.

Sonic Generations is simply the best Sonic title on HD consoles.

R.U.S.E. is not a title suitable for casual players, and it requires a certain amount of commitment and a flexible and strategic mind. If you want a spectacular, frenetic and anchored to the old system RTS, we do not recommend you this title, but if you want something really new, strategic and tactically considered approach, R.U.S.E. is for you.

All the nostalgic and collectors out there, don't miss this classic!

More a data disk than a real game, but it nonetheless offer a great combat system and plenty of customization. Just don't expect anything really new.

Let's face it: you have no excuses anymore for not playing this little gem.

Gears of War Reloaded is a remaster aimed at newcomers, delivering the best way to experience Marcus and Dominic’s first adventure. While it adds little beyond the technical upgrade and shows some signs of age, it remains a highly enjoyable classic. If you already own the Ultimate Edition, there’s little reason to double-dip, but for everyone else, Reloaded is an easy recommendation, especially at its fair price point.

Kirby Air Riders is exactly what it needed to be: a refined, expanded take on the 2003 classic that channels a style of game design focused purely on player fun rather than strict genre labels. That freedom can feel like a double-edged sword, broadly appealing, yet not perfectly satisfying for any one crowd. Still, for anyone with a Nintendo Switch 2, it remains a must-try experience, one that’s dangerously easy to get hooked on.

If you are looking for a sci-fi 4X where to spend the coming years of your gaming life, you just found it.

Screamer is the electric jolt that the pure arcade genre desperately needed: a racing game like this (and potentially of this quality) hasn’t been seen for a very, very long time, far too long. The only doubt concerns its long-term staying power: it will be the strength of the community and the variety of post-launch content that determine whether this title can stand strong beyond the excitement of its first week.

Where's my water is a great puzzle game, another one in App Store. Cheap and essential.

RiME is an intense game about grief and loss. It combines the exploration with puzzles in a very clever way. Tequila Works' game is an unforgettable experience that will move a lot of people.

The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood is another good idea from Deconstructeam, that manages to offer an experience that is both compelling, entertaining and thought-provoking.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales doesn't even try to reinvent the wheel, but it's enjoyable and well-paced.

One of the best rythm game ever created on Nintendo 3DS.

Mega Man 11 is a solid chapter, not revolutionary or brave, but the one the series deserves.

Arcania Gothic IV is devoid of some typical elements of the Gothic series, but is a good rpg. Ideal to start to become familiar with a hard role-playing game.

Resistance: Retribution is a funny shooter. The lack of a free saving system, unoptimized controls and only average graphic quality don’t allow a full marks scoring, but it’s still a good buy for every PSP action fan out there.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time is a new beginning for the series. Toys for Bob introduces new abilities and a lot of contents for hardcore gamers, but the real evolution is yet to come.

Death Road to Canada may not appeal to those who can't stand roguelikes anymore; however, all the other players will find here a complex yet intuitive game that will keep them busy for a very long time.

Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers for Nintendo Switch is a great tribute to a perfect videogame, probably the greatest beat 'em up of all time.

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit is the great return of Dontnod into the Life is Strange franchise. It's lovely, well crafted, and touching as usual (and it's also renewed in its graphics).

Dark Souls is nothing more than a porting operation. The lack of experience from the developers made this process complicated, with a final result that is far from what this game could and should have been on the PC. That being said, Dark Souls was and still is a masterpiece, a game designed for hardcore players packed with content and very different from what the modern market uses to offer. A must buy for anyone looking for a real challenge.

Astebreed is a brilliant shoot 'em up, which incorporates many features from Danmaku and reuses them in a complex and well-calculated way, giving rise to a formula suitable for both experienced players and beginners.

COD WWII is a great chapter for the brand: solid gameplay and intense, dramatic single player campaign. War Mode is a great add and, in general, the game is well developed.

L. A. Noire VR Case Files is a new and exciting way to experience once again the work of PI Cole Phelps.

Monster Energy Supercross 25 has truly won us over this year. While there are still some details that could use refinement in the future, the game arrives in great shape and shows strong potential for further improvement. The overhaul of the physics and dynamic system, for example, offers gameplay that feels well-suited to the current generation—though there’s still room for some visual enhancements. The career mode isn’t anything groundbreaking, but it does its job and allows us to enjoy the solid racing experience on track. On the other hand, the customization section really stands out, especially thanks to the new livery editor, which rounds out an already well-developed feature set. AI improvements are noticeable and welcome, but not yet fully satisfying—this may well be the area where the development team needs to focus most in future iterations.
