NFS: Heat is kind of a best-of with the best elements from the previous NFS games, with the addition of day and night races. All of it isn't very innovative, but not less entertaining because of it.

A hiking simulation you'll want to keep playing because of the unique stealth experience, a social element and a crazy but epic story that grips its claws into your mind. Not for everyone, but once you get sucked in, you'll get the experiences of the year. Yes, in plural.

There are more RPGs out there that promise you can make your own character en story, but The Outer Worlds makes that promise come true more than any other game I've ever played. An amazing experience.

Because of the design of a hotel with 15 very varied floors, this is the most versatile, surprising, beautiful and fun adventure so far.

Not as revolutionary as the technical reincarnation had us hope or fear, but it scores the most tweaks on the tried and tested formula. A strong single-player and enough choices in the multiplayer to give every type of shooter player what they want. And again: crossplay included and without season pass.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep is a lot of old content covered by a coat of paint that can barely be considered new, but thanks to the general update of a few game systems and a decent amount of recreational therapy with which you can increase your Light Level, this expansion definitely makes Destiny 2 a better, bigger game.

Code Vein is an uninspired derivative of everything that made Dark Souls legendary, but at the same time is the perfect example of the ancient cliché that imitation is the best form of flattery and sometimes it’s better to steal something, than to make up something bad.

eFootball PES 2020 is a delightful footy, with an addicting single-player and maybe the best ball physics ever. It's a shame that the game still hasn't fixed their old maladies (random sloppiness, budget presentation).

The total package in FIFA 20 is large as usual and the game looks great. But the spectacular fast-paced gameplay that especially leans on tricks, tends to be a bit too arcade-y and therefore loses its touch with the essence of real football.

This goes beyond nostalgia. Link's Awakening is a timeless masterpiece, and because of the beautiful, honorable way Nintendo modernized the game, this remake is the best way to experience this timeless masterpiece.

The Gears 5 singleplayer is better than any in the Gears of War series has ever been, with a stunningly beautiful, spectacular and (emotionally) satisfying campaign. Too bad the multiplayer part of the game hasn't been improved as much, making it only a slight disappointment. But on a whole this is a seriously fun and complete rated M for Mature shooter package.

In terms of improvements, there could've just as well been a 5 behind this Borderlands.

Astral Chain is set in a somewhat boring and repetitive demon world you have to return to a bit too often, but that’s the only tiny downside to this daring and triumphant new Platinum adventure. It has everything that makes action adventures fun and adds exceptional detective phases that offer a welcome diversion from the wild action.

Is Erica the beginning of a new era of FMV games? We can only hope! Erica is an atmospheric movie/game-hybrid with minimal interaction, arriving at exactly the right time: during a hot summer when almost every exertion is too much. In a future attempt however, I would like to have more of that triple A-feeling, with an even better storyline and beautiful cinematography. And to make the game feel a bit less like a movie, meaningful choices you can easily replay wouldn't be a bad thing either.

Final Fantasy VIII Remastered is the best version of the game ever and is fantastic for the gamers with nostalgic feelings, but for newcomers the 20-year-old graphics and design take a while. Fortunately the gameplay is still great.

The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan is a thrilling story, has some nice characters and the player can influence both on an impressive level, giving the game lots of replay value. Replaying may be not as interesting as you would like though, due to a great amount of walk and search gameplay, but the multiplayer modes do a good job of balancing that out. The Dark Pictures Anthology is off to a good start and hopefully has a bright future.

The sometimes intense combat, immediately noticeable upgrade options and the occasionally well-executed mindf.cks save Control from a bare 60/100. But almost every brilliant idea is tackled by an unbalanced execution.

Age of Wonders: Planetfall is one of the better 4X science-fiction games of the last few years, which is mainly thanks to the exploration, the battles and how these are joined together with quite an expansive narrative. The base building and management is somewhat less interesting, but far from a chore.

Samurai Shodown isn't unnecessarily complex and has enough depth to ensure a fighting game that should appeal to almost everyone. The lack of a good Story Mode should not spoil the fun, because you'll want to play Samurai Shodown for the great multiplayer.

Nitro Fueled is quite a difficult game with only a few catch-up items, in which you have to powerslide like crazy, curse the AI and the bossbattles. Apart from that it's a cool classic that has had a great nitro-upgrade.

RAGE 2 is bigger, more beautiful and more explosive than its predecessor, but at the same time more generic and monotonous. The shooting action is once again top notch, including a shotgun to die for, so it's functions as a fine appetizer before DOOM: Eternal arrives.

It is incredibly clever how NetherRealm can make such an old series interesting all the time and even delivers one of the best Mortal Kombat games ever with Mortal Kombat 11. Sekiro is without a doubt a powerful, timeless addition to Miyazaki's legendary collection of difficult but amazingly satisfying action RPG's, something that fans of Dark Souls will be very happy with. We have to be honest though, Nioh is a stronger Sengoku-game then Sekiro and we miss some of the usual From Software variation.

The Division 2 is the game that was promised us with its predecessor, but we ultimately didn't get. So forget about Manhattan and free up 40 hours of your time for an alternative city trip to Washington. This is a strong cover shooter with plenty of things to do and an excellent RPG system.
