Space Hulk: Deathwing accurately looks and feels like a Warhammer 40k licensed game. Unfortunately, for what it has in atmosphere and looks it just isn’t that great to play. Instead, the game is a slow and laborious slog mixed with laborious combat that rarely feels satisfying.- PlayStation Country

As a pool game, Sports Bar VR nails it. It’s as close to the real thing as you can get without leaving your house. The other modes are variable though and while the setting is quite nice in VR, the package is a little thin right now. However, it gives you more than Hustle Kings VR but maybe less than you might have expected overall.- PlayStation Country

Akiba’s Beat is a disappointing follow up to what was a flawed but entertaining game. The majority of gameplay involves walking to a location to button through some dialogue or progressing through tedious and repetitious dungeons. What content is here is stretched to breaking point as you’re asked to do the same thing over and over. If you enjoyed the characters from the last game you may find some joy here but others may struggle through the fifty hour playtime.- PlayStation Country

There's probably a very small, hardcore audience for Touhou Genso Rondo: Bullet Ballet but if your logic is 'Great! I like fighting games and I like shoot 'em ups' then, seriously, buy a fighting game and a shoot 'em up and stay away from this silliness. This is a bit like kittens and ice cream. Keep them separate. Don't blend them together and try to tell me that's a good thing.- PlayStation Country

Dusty Raging Fist is a great looking side-scroller with some creative ideas. However, aesthetics can only take a title so far. Underneath it all is a finicky combat system and poorly finished platforming that quickly drags the game into infuriatingly bland territory.- PlayStation Country

Sword and Fairy 6 would be a fun but quite simple Chinese RPG if it wasn't for all the technical problems. The frame rate is a constant issue, making the PS2 quality visuals look even worse and impacting the controls, but there are worse game breaking bugs in here that make it impossible to recommend.- PlayStation Country

This is one experience that is very much 'for the fans'. While Liftoff: Drone Racing has some accessibility, the real meat of the experience will be enjoyed exclusively by those with passion and investment in the sport. Aside from ropey visuals, physics, and music, Liftoff appears to provide a decent recreation of Drone flight, with plenty of customisation for those that delight in depth.- PlayStation Country

Disco Simulator's approach to management is incredibly simple. Whilst you can tinker with a few facets, the two resources that matter can be easily acquired. Turning a profit requires little effort and reputation does tend to be handed to you. What remains is a game with very few stakes and, as such, I wasn't encouraged to change my gameplan. That led to something that felt tedious pretty quick.- PlayStation Country

MX vs ATV Legends is a shambling corpse of a game struggling along on life support. How it passed testing and got approved for release is anyone's guess, but we figure THQ Nordic probably release so many games that the Sony approval team will rubberstamp literally anything these days. Don't bother, we really wish we hadn't. This series is effectively dead to us now. Hopefully it’ll be patched to a playable state, but at the moment it simply isn’t.- PlayStation Country

I still can't find myself comfortable within the genre but at least Fade to Silence offers people like me a foothold. Despite a more casual experience and some welcome co-op, combat feels sluggish and shallow. The world is wonderfully bleak but the storytelling fails to capitalise on the setting. There's some intriguing systems at work here but they don't combine in a way I can enjoy.- PlayStation Country

2Dark delivers on a dark story but struggles with the gameplay. The visuals soften the horror a little but the developers should be applauded for the premise. Buildings Have Feelings Too! is a bit of a misnomer, this is more Urban Regeneration Simulator, but that’s not quite so snappy. There is almost nothing to recommend with Valkyria Revolution as it fails to hit the mark in every aspect having, for some reason, changed pretty much everything which made the first game great. Much like the warring tribes in the board game that this title is based on, the various ideals that make up this game don't quite work together as you would hope they would. Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood tries valiantly to tell a story while getting you to think and move smart. Ultimately however, the game boils down to a technically proficient, yet repetitive button masher with minimal next gen trimmings and a sense that this game could have been a whole lot more than it is.- PlayStation Country

This is not the return to the series fans were hoping for. Legacy of Kain: Ascendance is a slight experience with a story that feels poorly connected to the older classics. Elalith's actions undermine the decisions taken in previous games and, if that's not enough, the gameplay is very basic. It does have some interesting visual sections, but these also scale back the interactivity. As a result, it doesn't feel cohesive and strikes me more of a piece of merchandise than a game.- PlayStation Country

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown really lacks an identity. Despite the name, it doesn't bear great resemblance to the previous games. Whilst there is a vast city to explore, the lifestyle element has been somewhat left behind and the car selection has significant omissions. It can be visually inconsistent but the driving model feels very solid. It lacks some detail but there is some decent digital tourism within. The worst of the connectivity issues appear to have been resolved but the way online is handled, and a general lack of atmosphere can make this feel like a lonely drive.- PlayStation Country

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants does not breathe easy outside of an arcade setting. The short campaign loses any risk when you're given plentiful lives at the start of each stage. Whilst the new areas are welcome, they don't make the package feel any more complete. In the comforts of home, every imperfection comes into stark realisation. Dakar 18's execution is terrible. The considered navigation system finds itself undermined by a co-driver I have no faith in. Daymare 1998 wears its influence firmly and proudly. It's a decision that stifles creativity and invention when it comes to enemy and environmental design. Whilst a poor imitation in terms of quality and polish, there's some charm to this. The voice acting and writing have an appropriately goofy tone whilst the combat is competent. South Park: Snow Day is a slight effort that feels somewhat underdeveloped. The combat has a chaotic feel to it without any real nuance or precision. The few missions that are here follow a familiar path and it misses some much needed variety. The random card drawing can deliver some variables but not enough for encounters to feel different. Whilst it can degenerate into a box-ticking exercise, combat in Override 2: Super Mech League excels when against other human players. The action holds plenty of weight and the unpredictability does make each fight feel like a challenge. Against bots, that element feels completely removed and more routine. Zenith isn’t that good and that’s a real shame because on the face of it, things looked promising. The trouble is that the comedy falls flat at every turn and the role-playing elements are so light they’re practically non-existant. Had the developers focused more on gameplay and less on jokes, we might be onto something. Comedy isn’t easy in games and Zenith is exhibit A in the case of how to bad things can get. All is not lost though. The developers have created a functional product and after some more QA testing could have had a fairly average game. I do hope this is a stepping stone onto greater things for them. Fast and Furious Arcade Edition is a vacuous void of a game that while it might work well in an arcade environment, but is so sadly lacking in this home port. The AI rubberbanding is among the worst we’ve ever seen in our memory, if not ever, to the extent that no matter how well you drive, the opposition will be on you regardless. Don’t waste your time and money buying and playing this, instead pick up Burnout Paradise on the PSN store as you’ll get more from that for less money. Avoid this at all costs.- PlayStation Country

I find Generation Zero to have an interesting, stealthy core that sadly is undermined by a somewhat empty world. The technical issues might lead some to hold off and I do hope Avalanche keep supporting this blueprint. There is an appeal to this that does want me to return, providing something more is on the horizon.- PlayStation Country

Get your head around what this is and Harmonix Music VR is a fun little tool to play with but it has no real value and after thirty minutes, you’ve seen everything. It’s close to being something good but Harmonix need to support this with new modes to make it at all worthwhile.- PlayStation Country

Submersed ultimately makes some key decisions which will frustrate. Enemies are relentless and inventory management feels botched, leading to you require prior knowledge to advance. Stealth is functional but, more often than not, you're tasked with running from foes that are simply quicker and deadlier than you. There's a punishment on offer here that doesn't fit the crime and, whilst the game tries to do well with a small budget, it can't execute on much of it.- PlayStation Country

Ambulance Life: A Paramedic Simulator has potential, but in its current state, that’s all it is. The diagnostic system that underpins the game was broken by the day one patch and remains in a state where the game is effectively unplayable. The gameplay itself is a bit repetitive but no less so than the nine to five grind. We just hope a future patch resolves the issues, because as things stand, we can’t really recommend this.- PlayStation Country

It’s quite difficult to ascertain what Riot: Civil Unrest wants to be. The dull and uncontrollable action would fit quite well as a simulator with something to say. However, the title is bogged down with gamified elements that suggest that this product was built for entertainment, with its guitar laden soundtrack and high score chasing elements. Unfortunately, it becomes a mess of both worlds that fails to be either thought provoking or an enjoyable gaming experience.- PlayStation Country

There's a fun game buried away inside Spuds Unearthed's needlessly complicated exterior but even when you figure out what's going on, a chronic lack of challenge kills the game before it ever really gets going.- PlayStation Country

Super Dungeon Bros is the very definition of average, with bland art style forgettable level design and floaty controls. Whilst more fun can be wrought out of the multiplayer, the chances of finding other people to play this game with is near non-existent. As a result you’re left with a single player game which seems to be poorly balanced and liable to crash.- PlayStation Country

VR has been around for a while now and just being in VR isn’t enough. Like any other kart racer we want interesting levels, tight controls and fun power ups. VR Karts doesn’t deliver any of that. The VR is welcome but without it, there would be literally no reason to own this.- PlayStation Country

On paper, the battle engine should provide an interesting scrap with a varied, albeit small, roster of characters. Unfortunately, the AI feels brutal to fight and the lack of a manual means you're fumbling in the dark until you figure out what works. It's needlessly uninviting with the slim choice of modes and the lack of an online community meaning this game really underwhelms.- PlayStation Country

Rainbow are back in the saddle and there's signs they are a little out of practice. There's nostalgic decisions at play which don't always work out in 2018 but can still raise a smile. Modes are what you'd expect and the visuals look occasionally impressive but the game struggles to keep things steady on the Playstation 4. The novelty of cross-vehicle madness still has hooks and races provide fantastical, open racing. Unfortunately, you'll have to overlook the ever-present performance issues.- PlayStation Country

Whether you have nostalgia for Sega’s Crazy Taxi franchise or not, Taxi Chaos by Lion Castle Entertainment is a hard sell. The game is a poor attempt at mimicking a classic IP in the hopes of bringing the formula to a new audience and fails to capitalise on any of the elements that made the original experience so fun to play in the first place. Taxi Chaos lacks any flair in the gameplay, visuals or audio department, while turning the once entertaining concept into an exercise in boredom.- PlayStation Country

Nickelodeon Kart Racers is a disappointing misstep. It handles fine with some mildly interesting track designs. Sadly, it struggles to really, really lean into the cartoons' individuality. This is a simple ride that won't offer much in the way of challenge and, overall, it lacks some care and attention that could've provided something more compelling.- PlayStation Country

Whilst a change of developer has produced something much improved and playable, Rugby 18's rendition of the sport lacks a flow and cohesion which I find problematic. Set plays are focused whilst the open play is unbalanced and frustrating. There's a foundation there but the lack of modes and teams make the price tough to justify. There's fun to be had but, those wanting something more robust might await a drop or hold back a year.- PlayStation Country

Tamarin is a cute monkey with a gun. It's as jarring as it sounds. Not helped by a wayward camera and some awful checkpointing, this isn't quite the Jet Force Gemini spiritual successor it could be. More like Git Force Gemini.- PlayStation Country

I wanted to give Crimson Keep the benefit of the doubt and, whilst the technical troubles that plagued the Switch version appear to have been rectified, the more fundamental problems remain in sharp focus. The adventure might be short in nature but I just don't find perseverance particularly satisfying. There's no sense of depth or a foothold to be gained from a game that's a little too bare to flourish.- PlayStation Country

Troll and I is a game whose ambition is deflated by a lack of polish and a worrying absence of player guidance. Combat feels serviceable, if a little unsatisfying, and they find good reasons to switch between the two titular protagonists. There’s an endearing story at play but the game itself has enough issues to stifle the most enthusiastic player. Repercussions from poor execution prevent this from being a truly worthwhile experience.- PlayStation Country
