Aircraft Evolution is a fun, arcadey shoot 'em up with a nice gimmick and some decent playability but it's also quite short and maybe a bit too easy. The cheap price means it is a fairly safe bet for shoot 'em fans looking for something a little different to play for an evening or two.- PlayStation Country

NASCAR Heat 5's racing remains compelling and customisable. The visuals aren't perfect but they've retained a wonderful style and character. It's a shame the new additions like testing sessions feel so slight and career mode has stayed largely the same. Some of the technical hitches become more noticeable as time goes on but, if you're after some new NASCAR, this will suffice.- PlayStation Country

SUPERHOT: MIND CONTROL DELETE is more SUPERHOT with a semi-roguelike twist. The skills and new enemy types keep things interesting even as things can get more furstrating towards the tail end. Those who are invested in the story get more of that too, the rest of us can just shoot and slash in slow motion as the whole world shatters around us.- PlayStation Country

F1 2020 manages to breathe new life into its single player content with the My Team mode. Managing your own team is compelling and feels more involved than the usual career options. The game's visuals are starting to look long in the tooth and the load times feel lengthy. Despite this, the core of the game remains intact. Racing is aggressive and enjoyable and there's plenty of sink your time into.- PlayStation Country

After spending twenty six years stewing in a dark vault, Dice's lost 16-Bit shooter now gets the airing it deserves. Ultracore is a worthy run'n'gun retro experience with some great visuals, music and gameplay. Yet, some aging aspects of the game do get in the way of a good time and demonstrate reasons why this game was lost for so long in the first place. While it can frustrate, it is still one i would recommend to play if you grew up with the Mega Drive.- PlayStation Country

A Summer with the Shiba Inu has a narrative that shows some early promise. Sadly the main mystery is sidelined for some more focused character work. It's welcome but it makes the ending feel presented without much effort to earn a conclusion. It's written well enough although I found the dog puns insufferable and Syd's accomplices are all very accommodating. It does feature some strong art and the portraits convey a great degree of charm and character. Sadly, the genre does struggle to show action and this game takes ample opportunity to imply dog on dog violence. It's clumsy but there's things to enjoy from this.- PlayStation Country

While the years haven't been kind to the graphical fidelity, Star Wars Episode I: Racer still stands up well as a fun sideshow to the more traditional war games set in the series. The quality of life improvements to the PS4 port makes the game a more enjoyable racer to play overall, but the lacking difficulty and replay value makes this a shortlived experience. If you enjoyed the game back in the nineties and fancy a double dip, it will surprise you just how easy it feels now, but if you didn't enjoy the game then this port will do little to change your mind.- PlayStation Country

Assetto Corsa Competizione gets so much right. The spectacular physics have made their way to console untouched and the license allows them to focus brilliantly on so much. Radio Squid has some admirable ideas that are somewhat at odds with some claustrophobic level design. Friendly fire does frustrate but at least it's offset by plenty of money to allow for extra lives. If nothing else, you're kept in the fight, despite how clumsy it can feel. Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated is a great example of how to do a remaster. As a concept, there is some merit to be found in Pong Quest. The marriage of RPG mechanics with simple retro tennis is fun enough in the early stages, but fatigue soon sets in with the predictable repetition that comes from playing Pong for more than a few minutes. Your mileage will vary on this game, but if you don’t think Pong will entertain you for more than an hour, then chances are this is not the one for you.- PlayStation Country

Project Warlock is a welcome surprise. Buckshot Software have pulled off a rare feat by making a retro inspired game that is not overburdened by modernised elements or oversimplified for the sake of a pixel art style. At times, Strawberry Vinegar handles friendship between two children well. There's moments of humour and some good character building on offer. The package bolsters with new classics and features but the same outdated visuals and problems arise. Daymare 1998 wears its influence firmly and proudly. It's a decision that stifles creativity and invention when it comes to enemy and environmental design. Whilst a poor imitation in terms of quality and polish, there's some charm to this. The voice acting and writing have an appropriately goofy tone whilst the combat is competent. As cheap and cheerful as it is, Random Heroes: Gold Edition can feel a little slight and mindless at times. The level design takes a while to change up and, whilst enemies and weaponry can vary, you can settle on a favourite hero pretty quickly. While the original release in 1997 didn't quite live up to the 'classic' status that the Doom franchise is renowned for, the creative sparks that made it a unique entry are still very prevalent to this day. This is helped by a miraculous port that renovates the visuals, controls and speed of the ageing N64 edition. The only thing that Bethesda or Id Software couldn't help, is that the game is quite frustrating at times. Doom 64 is still one to play, if not just for the sake of more Doom, but also because it remains a true continuation to the series that make a commendable attempt at pushing the series into horror.- PlayStation Country

Katana Kami: A Way of the Samurai Story is fairly likeable. Despite the small shell, there's depth to uncover and a lot of systems to engage with. Combat is interesting and you always seem to have a goal to work towards. Unfortunately, I feel the dungeon's repetitiveness can outstay its welcome but the online aspects and post-game content does try to give players something else to dig into.- PlayStation Country

If you want twelve old NES classics treated with respect then this will be a must-buy. Gamers who didn't play these games back in the day may find the quality of the games to be to hard to swallow.- PlayStation Country

Ganbare! Super Strikers is a tactics-based football game a little bit like Football, Tactics and Glory. Just not as good. We suggest you play that instead.- PlayStation Country

Spaceland may look like an XCOM clone but it offers a more puzzle focused take on the strategy genre. The limited ammo and level challenges make each short level a problem to be solved rather than a battle to endure. The variety suffers a little for it as does the lack of base management to break up the action but it's a fun game to dip in and out of.- PlayStation Country

Reed Remastered is an excellent port of an already good mobile game with an added layer of polish not normally seen in Ratalaika releases. At this price and with the Vita version thrown in, nothing less than essential.- PlayStation Country

To just say ‘this game is fun’ would be the easy way out. It’s a brutal challenge with hellish visuals, doom-laden soundtrack and blood-soaked anarchy. If you like your retro shooter platformers to look, act and feel like they belong in the metal section of your local record store, then Valfaris is one hell of a good time.- PlayStation Country

Darksiders Genesis changes the camera angle but brings a lot of what fans enjoy about the main series. It does get a little repetitive but the road to 100% is addictive and everything's better in co-op.- PlayStation Country

There's a really fun vertically-scrolling shoot 'em up here but the game is over far too quickly and that's the only real knock against it.- PlayStation Country

Zero Zero Zero Zero is an uncomplicated game from Ratalaika that provides a solid retro-tinged challenge in a gauntlet of spikes, lazers and a hundred screens of brutal obstacles. This is one to consider if you thought games like N+ and Super Meat Boy were too easy for your liking.- PlayStation Country

Pandaball is a bare-bones multiplayer five-a-side football game with pandas. Not really much to it. Poor value, especially when you consider the competition.- PlayStation Country
