It's somewhat short and the boss battles are truly awful, but otherwise Sonic Generations is a solid platformer. Revisiting old levels is nostalgic and having two Sonics to control is a nice touch. [Dec 2011]

I admit it, I enjoyed the time I spent hacking and slashing my way through the hordes of funny foes Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure threw in my way. I just wish it didn't cost as much as it does to unlock content that's already on the game disc. [Dec 2011]

The third Saints Row is solid proof that GTA ins't the only sandbox game out there. Dirty jokes, nice storyline and full-packed city ensures that you won't get bored at Steelport City. Haters gonna hate, but that's their loss. [Dec 2011]

Oh man, is Rayman Origins beautiful or what? The anarchistic humor and vivid landscapes made me enjoy my adventures with Rayman even more than New Super Mario Bros. Or Donkey Kong Country Returns, and that's saying something. Thank you Michel! [Dec 2011]

A very pretty and in some parts surprising arcade racer. It takes a step or two towards the original Need for Speed and that's a good thing. There's one annoying problem, though. The stupidly expensive police cars are just, well, really stupid. [Dec 2011]

Apart from the three player co-op, there's not much to recommend about War in the North. Fighting the same enemies over and over again gets old fast, especially as they take way too much damage for the combat to feel satisfying. [Dec 2011]

It's too bad that the company that made L.A. Noire went under before the fully realized PC version came out. The detective playstyle and the 1940's ambience of L.A. Noire are something completely different from what we usually see in games nowadays. At times the interrogations can be a bit frustrating, but that only adds to the overall atmosphere of the game. Using Kinect to play a 2D beat 'em up is a great idea, but the novelty fades off after a couple of hours. Not that it takes much longer to finish the story mode, which is not quite enough for a retail game that costs 40 euros. [Dec 2011]

Newest addition to the Kirby franchise feels once again fresh and new. The mix of platformer and ancient Lemmings works like a charm and the game design is well balanced. This game truly is a proper testament for the aging DS. [Dec 2011]

The second season of Kinect Sports doesn't really offer anything original or inspired, it's just a collection of sports mini-games. Some of them are mildly entertaining (Golf), while others are over-simplified and boring (Tennis). All in all, Season Two is an extremely casual gaming experience that offers neither fresh ideas nor precise motion control. [Dec 2011]

A short, but entertaining stand-alone halloweenesque action-adventure for the electric superhero Cole. Kill the vampire queen before dawn. It's a bit too easy for inFamous-veterans, though. [Dec 2011]

Remake of the Wii's finest railshooter adds some action and polish and make's it's way to Playstation. Move is far more accurate than Wiimote and HD graphics give some shine to the gory action. For newbies this ride gives thrills and chills, but if the title is familiar from Wii, cussing and swearing sounds way too familiar. [Dec 2011]

As far as remakes go, Halo really hits the mark. Halo: Combat Evolved still offers top quality gameplay, however the repetitive level design is really starting to feel dated. Oh, and The Library chapter still sucks. [Dec 2011]

Dungeon Defenders is a co-op focused tower defense game where four heroes try to stop huge monster waves from destroying magic crystals by building all kinds of defensive structures such as walls and cannons. There are also some roleplaying and hack & slash elements so players can level up their heroes and fight enemies with swords and spells. The singleplayer side of the game is lacking but the multiplayer mode is always very fun and addicting. Technically the game is quite polished and doesn't have any fatal bugs which is always a good thing. [Dec 2011]

The sequel for the best Kinect game doesn't fail. The two player mode is the biggest improvement. Training leads to results, so this game is edu-tainment as it's best. Second Dance Central is – as it's predecessor – a Kinect application for both casual and hardcore gamers. [Dec 2011]

Bike Baron is a refreshing relic from the shareware era, but it takes some from the one of the greatest XBLA successes. This iPad version of the TrialsHD is sometimes painfully difficult, but extremely fun at the same time. [Dec 2011]

Rocksteady applies what they learned with Arkham Asylum to an semi-open world setting and the end result is something amazing. At first it seems there's too much things happening and too many bad guys in the story, but they are all brought together beutifully. Catwoman episodes, albeit short, pace the overall story well. As expected, the PC version looks amazing. [Dec 2011]

The third installment in the Ezio series offers more of the same than the two previous episodes, only with a different plot and some new minor tricks and stuff. The Altaïr-flashbacks with the protagonist of the first Assassin's Creed are great, Desmond's platformer memories not so much, but overall it's yet another fine action adventure that feels just a bit too familiar. Amazing visuals, solid gameplay and an enjoyable story - Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception has them all and then some. It's a great game that could have been a truly excellent one if not for some slight shortcomings (platforming and puzzles are too easy, too much shooting in the latter part of the game, last minute escapes start feeling old after a while...). Still, it's an experience not to be missed. [Nov 2011]

Starbase Orion is a close-to-perfect rendition of the classic Master of Orion. For an old MOO fan it's easy to fall in love with the appealing visuals and excellent touch UI. There are some failures though, namely the lack of diplomacy, tactical combat and challenge from the AI races. [Nov 2011]

Who doesn't love animals? Judging by the fact that every edition of the Sims franchise has received a pet-themed expansion, everybody loves a furry friend. Cats, dogs and horses are let loose in the new residential area of Appaloosa Plains. Pets shake up a Sim's life, but the expansion pack feels very familiar to all Sims players. But if you still enjoy your life in Sunset Valley, there's no reason to turn your back on Pets. [Nov 2011]

Pro Evolution Soccer 2012 is definitely an upgrade from last year´s version but some of the new features are a mixed bag. For example much waited teammate control is way too complicated to master. AI is a tough opponent but as a teammate it still has some issues especially in defense. [Nov 2011]
